Another day in the life of Danny Fenton and the start of a week off school and instead of going out to Nasty Burger with his friends or something else that a young teenager would want to do; he was spending the morning reorganising and labelling everything in his parents' lab in exchange for an advance on his allowance. Jazz in charge while their parents were at the hospital to get the family patriarch Jack's leg treated for one of the new inventions falling right on top of his foot.
However he was interrupted as he felt his Ghost Sense go off; sure enough there was the Ghost Portal opening up. "I'm going ghost!" Danny said getting into serious mode as he transformed into his ghost form. He got the ectoplasmic energy ready in his hands as he saw Skulker enter with the biggest grin that he ever saw on his robotic face. "Okay Skulker; let's make it quick because I am not in the mood for you trashing my parents' lab..." Danny said only to notice him dropping a sack filled with music equipment, posters of Ember and a familiar guitar. With his other arm he dropped off an angry looking girl in a brown ponytail and wearing black rockstar clothes that were quite familiar.
"Wait... Can't be... Ember?" Danny asked confused as Ember got up and got into Skulker's face angrily.
"You can't just leave me here... Where am I supposed to go?" the human Ember demanded as Skulker easily pushed her back and Danny had to by reflex catch her before she was thrown into the lab equipment.
"That's your problem now, honestly this break up was overdue and now I can have more room for my hunting equipment and trophies!" Skulker retorted with a mocking smile on his face and then he actually waved to Danny. "Will hunt you next time Phantom..." Skulker actually greeted him as he then left through the portal.
"...Can't believe that I ever saw anything in that blockhead! Why did I ever ask him out!" Ember cried out in rage as she got out of Danny's grip and he took this in.
"Wait... You and Skulker? He did have a girlfriend? How old is he under that robotic suit since you're a ghost teen..." Danny asked in surprise and having so many uncomfortable questions in his mind. Ember was now looking through the sack and sighed happily.
"Nothing is broken... Good thing because I would ask you if you could hunt him down and trash that suit body of his dipstick!" Ember told him and Danny was still taking this in.
"Okay; I will ignore the question of you and Skulker and more of the question of... You're a human now?" Danny asked feeling puzzled by this.
Ember sighed and figured that she might as well explain...
"Fifth date this month that you were late to or just a no-show! It's only the 9th!" Ember screamed at Skulker furiously after having waited for him for an hour and had tracked him down hunting Desiree the ghost genie who was using wishes from the Ghost Zone to make herself more powerful.
"I have had to hunt the ghost-boy and last time I had to get Technus to upgrade my suit!" Skulker as he got Desiree into a trap and waited for Walker to arrive to take her into custody.
"How serious are you for this relationship because it looks like you care more about your hunting and your stuff than you do your girlfriend! If you are going to not even be regretful or remorseful about this; then perhaps we should break up!" Ember retorted and looked hurt and then angry at Skulker's reaction which was more annoyance than anything else.
"So I should just move out and take my stuff back?" Ember asked and got angrier as Skulker waved her off as Walker came to collect Desiree. "Wonder if I can talk to the Halfa about this and he can relate to how annoying you are!" Ember shouted getting more upset and trying to think of something that would get a rise out of her now ex-boyfriend.
"Be; I am now wishing there was a way that you could just stay there and I won't have to deal with your moaning anymore..." Skulker snapped out and Desiree grinned...
"...After that wish was made and it turned me into a human again; Walker said that he was locking up Desiree in a way so that she can't grant anymore wishes and he wouldn't let me take it back! Uh... Being a human brought me nothing but pain..." Ember finished and Danny was taken aback by seeing the tears forming in her eyes. "Starting to remind me of a crush that I had... Strung me along with 2 weeks of silence and then setting up a date that he never appeared for... I spent hours outside like a dummy thinking that he was just late..." Ember continued ranting with tears in her eyes and Danny thought of how vulnerable and upset she was.
Enemy or not; he felt that he had to comfort her and offered arms and Ember actually allowed her self to take the embrace and she let the tears out. She calmed down and awkwardly let go; "Sorry that you had to deal with that brute; I know that you tried to take over the world and stuff and we have fought before but you don't deserve what he put you through. Been through a break up myself and wasn't as bad but..." Danny told her softly as she sighed.
"Being a human and remembering the ignored loser that I was... I can't exactly become a ghost again the other way as I doubt it would work a second time..." Ember muttered looking upset and sighed and Danny thought over her words and decided not to press. "How did you become half-human?" Ember asked and Danny shook his head.
"Don't recommend it as it was pretty painful with my molecules being all rearranged... My parents' Ghost Portal when it was built and i was inside and accidentally switched it on..." Danny started to explain and Ember started grinning as she ran to the sides of the inside and pressed the off button. Danny's eyes widened as he realised what she was going to attempt to do and ran to stop her but it was too late.
He looked uncomfortable and worried as he heard her pained screams but then walked out and to her knees she looked like her old ghost self again. "Yes! Back to normal! Thanks for hearing me out dipstick but I gotta go back, check with Kitty to see if I can bunk with her for the time being and then think of a way to get back at my ex..." Ember cheered in glee as Danny looked on and a thought came to him.
"Wait... Are you sure that your a full ghost because you were a human back then like I was and I didn't become full ghost..." Danny asked and Ember blinked.
"What are you saying that I could turn into a human..." Ember laughed and as if humouring him looked into a mirror and focused on becoming a human with her mouth wide open as she saw her transform into a human as well.
"Well this has certainly been a morning..." Danny muttered wondering how to go about this.
Stuff with Skulker was inspired by a story called Cupid's Wrath and this could be listed as complete for now as I don't know if I will continue it. I may depending on feedback.
