'This can't be happening. This can't be real. This has to be a dream…' these were the dreadful thoughts of a 12 year old Izuku Midoriya who recently found out about his mother being rushed in the hospital after feeling dizzy and collapsing without warning. "Have to talk to the receptionist." The boy said while arriving at the local hospital.
Izuku approached the counter asking, "Excuse me miss. I'm Inko Midoriya's son. Do you know where she is?" The receptionist looked up and said "She's at room 102, down the corridor near the emergency room." The teen thanked the receptionist and quickly made his way over to the room where his mother is at.
He arrived at the door, and takes a peek through the glass. What he saw made his heart drop, there in the room is his mother who's laying down critically. Her skin looked pale, her eyes were closed, and her body looked like it was getting worse. The green haired teen instantly went into the room to check if his mother is awake.
"Mum? Can you hear me?" Izuku gently shakes his mother. No response. He tries again, "Mum, I got a call from the hospital saying that you collapsed after feeling dizzy." Groan, "Uh… Izuku?" Inko finally wakes up and sees her son looking at her. "I heard about what happened. Doctors had to rush you in the emergency room, to perform CPR because you collapsed." Izuku spoke while he held his mother's hands. "Yes, you're right sweetie, I felt a bit dizzy and ended up collapsing." Inko replied to her son.
"That's never happened before. What is it you're not telling me?" Izuku asks his mother. Sigh "Izuku…" "I'm telling you to tell me! I know that I've been working hard and I rarely spent enough time with you! BUT you cannot keep this from me!" Izuku said angrily. "Where did you go to gain that kind of attitude young man?!" Inko chastised her son.
"Nowhere! You're supposed to tell the truth! I've told you the truth back then!" Izuku argued to his mother. "And I admire you for stepping up and telling me. But this is something you cannot prevent Izuku!" Inko reminded her son. "So why?! Why did you make me believe that there was nothing wrong when in fact there was?!" at this point Izuku is fuming. "I didn't want to make you worry. You have a lot on your schedule and telling you this would make it more difficult to manage your daily activities." Inko calmly responded.
Sigh "Whatever…" said the green haired teen. "I'll pay for the hospital bi-"
The woman interrupted "No you will not."
Izuku was flabbergasted, "Excuse me?"
Inko continues, "I'll be the one to pay for my hospital bills."
"Mum, I have my own money, let me pay for this so you don't have to-" Izuku tried to argue but was interrupted again.
"I know that some of the money you have… you stole it from others." Inko said which shocked her son.
Eyes widen "Mum, that's ridiculous. I earned this money fair and square." The teen tried to defend himself.
"No you did not. I know that you've been coming home late and there's nothing to do at that time." the woman firmly said.
Huff "So what if I do come back home late? That doesn't mean that I stole money. I earned it." Izuku once again tried to defend himself.
"Earned how? By stealing it?" Inko retorted to her son.
"CAN YOU PLEASE STOP!" the teen finally snaps.
Silence between the two. Not talking and not moving. Until…
"Izuku, there's going to be a time where I won't be there for you. Where I'll die just like others do." Inko breaks the truth to Izuku. "Either growing old or inheriting a disease."
Sniffles the green haired teen is crying with his head down. "It's just… I… I saw how other people treat each other because of having a quirk. It's easy to relate with one another. But when you don't have one, it's difficult to approach others. They'll pity you, laugh at you, and spit on you." Inko was dumbfounded. Izuku continued "You know what my peers did at the first day of work? They pitied me, laughed at me, and spitted on me!" he yelled the last part with hate.
Exhale "Izuku... I'm so sorry. I… I shouldn't dismiss your own feelings. I didn't know you were still having this problem." Said Inko regretfully.
"I didn't want to make you worry." Izuku shed tears.
"Oh Izuku… come here sweetie." The woman sits up and offers a hug to her son.
The teen hugged her tightly while weeping "I'm sorry Mum… I'm so sorry…"
"Don't be. At least you told me." Inko soothingly rubs her son's back. "Remember Izuku, its fine to talk about this kinds of things. It's okay to not be okay."
"Yes Mum." Izuku accepted her words.
The pair of them hugging, no disturbance, and no people. Just them, mother and son.
