A/N hey guys in between writing Young Guns 2 Thor The Outlaw and among other stories I have interesting Young Guns story it was suggested to me by my cousin and I have given it a lot thought and decided to write this I'm not sure how this will all play out but the basic premise of this story is that Chavez had a wife and has a child he and his wife whose name is Aurora in this story have a daughter who they named Avery it'll start off with Avery's birth to leading up to when Chavez's family is murdered and it's just before the movie starts so I hope you guys will find this story interesting and is about Chavez and his daughter Avery please let me know what you guys think about this story in your comments/ Reviews and please no negative comments criticism or reviews constructive criticism is alright but no negative criticism comments or reviews please thank you and I don't own any of the Young Guns characters just Chavez's mother Aurora And Avery and this story will be for the most part be told from Chavez's POV just to let you know alright so without further ado here's chapter 1. Chapter 1.

Chavez's POV:

I can still remember everything that had happened me and my wife Aurora getting married to our daughter Avery being born and everything else in between it was early winter January to be exact Avery had been born just a couple of weeks ago and Aurora was by her side tending to her everyday I was outside our teepee on the Red Sand Creek reservation that put aside for us I l didn't understand why but that was how it was it was cold out and I had my Buffalo skin jacket on to keep warm while Aurora was inside the teepee with Avery it had been a terrible year for us Murphy and his men brought us spoiled food me and couple of braves decided to go into town and see if we could trade for food I talked to Aurora about we had only been married for a few months and she along with my mother often worried about my well-being but I reassured her that everything was going to be alright as I was thinking about that conversation I heard footsteps and I looked in the direction of the footsteps and saw my mother Naomi I chuckled softly when I saw her she was a beautiful woman with long black greying hair and brown eyes and the most warmest smiles anyone would ever see she smiled happily at me

Morning mom I greeted

Good morning Jose "how's my grandchild doing this morning? Mom replied

She's doing good Aurora's with her right now if you want to see her I said

My mother smiled delighted and walked into the teepee my mother had raised me by herself after my father died when I was a toddler she was the only one who called me by my first name she had given birth to my two sisters a couple months ago I was the only son that she had I was half and half I was half Mexican on my father's side of half Navajo on my mother's side so I was basically a mix of my parents although my mother had said numerous times that I looked exactly like my father although he had short hair were's I had shoulder length jet black hair I followed my mother into the teepee and Aurora was holding little Avery who cooed and giggled I was proud to have a daughter and I would also been proud to have a son but I was happy nonetheless with a daughter

I think someone wants to see her father Aurora said handing Avery to me

She's getting big and before we know it she'll be a young woman I said gently holding Avery in my arms gently bouncing her

Well we'll just have enjoy her being a little baby after all she's only a week old you know Aurora replied

I know I said

So when are you guys going to head into the nearest white man's town? Aurora asked

In a little while hopefully we can get some food I said

Aurora kissed me then gently took Avery and went to tend to her some more I knew that Aurora didn't like what we were about to do it was possibly dangerous and could get our whole family killed my mother didn't approve it either but she understood why we were going to do this we were going to bring food back and feed the younger ones as well as the elderly there was no way I was going sit back and watched my entire family starve to death no I was going to do whatever it took into making sure that we were going to be alright I felt my mother's hand on my shoulder and I turned to look at her

"Are you sure you want to do this Jose? You know it could put our family in danger my mother said

I know mom but it's the only option we've got right now I just don't want to see all of you suffer I told her

I know Jose I do it's just that I already lost your father I don't want to lose you too and I'm sure Aurora and Avery don't want to lose you as well you're my only son and it would destroy me as well as Aurora and Avery if we were to lose you my mother replied

Mom you're not going to lose me I'll be alright besides I'm not a little boy anymore and I'm not the only one who's going several of the braves will be with me I said

I know that but you'll always be a little boy to me and I just want you to be careful mom said

I will I promise I replied

Don't make promises you can't keep Jose your father learned that the hard way mom replied

I know mom you've been drilling that into me since I was a toddler I replied with a sigh

And for good reason my mother said

I chuckled softly and hugged and kissed my mother by then some of the braves called out as they did Aurora while holding Avery came over to my side I kissed them goodbye before mounting up onto my horse I looked back at Aurora Avery and my mother for a moment before we rode off to the nearest white man's town as we approached I had a really bad feeling about coming here one of my uncles got off his horse and began talking to a man who seemed to be in charge of the town when suddenly before I knew it gunfire erupted all of the braves were shot and killed I however took off and rode back to the Red Sands but when I got there I saw nothing but carnage most of my entire family were dead in the snow I swallowed hard and raced towards the teepee I share with Aurora and Avery I found Aurora but she was dead as so were my mother and two baby sisters but I didn't see Avery at first I thought something happened to her but then I remember Aurora and I talking about if anything were to happened to either of us that we would hide Avery so that only one of us would find her I searched for her and found her in the tall grass she was wrapped in her baby blanket and was crying uncontrollably I gently picked her up gently holding her trying to comfort her

Shhh it's alright now it's okay sweetheart daddy's here daddy's got you I whispered softly to her

I gently kissed her forehead before packing what little we had and mounting onto my horse holding Avery close and setting off there were was a town near us called Lincoln I had a feeling that Murphy was there as well as his men I decided to seek revenge on Murphy and his men for what they did but little did I know that Avery and I were going to be saved by a English man named John Henry Tunstall and that was only the beginning
