The Breaking at Mount Doom

By: Aria Breuer

Disclaimer: I do not own 'The Lord of the Rings.' 'The Lord of the Rings' belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien. My writing style is also different now, due to my integration with LOTR's Frodo Baggins. So, this 'Lord of the Rings' fanfic is my start to writing new fanfics with this new integration going on. Enjoy! :)

Warning! This fanfic is Rated M for dark themes and brief sensual themes. This fanfics has slash hinted at within this story.

Summary: Inside the volcanic mountain, Frodo Baggins takes part in the destruction of the One Ring. But even he cannot see all ends towards this fateful destruction. LOTR Movie-verse. Featuring Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, and Sméagol/Gollum. Slight Slash.

Frodo Baggins stood on the ledge, within Mount Doom. The hot fissures and smoky atmosphere left him choking. His skin sweat from the steam the lava pursued all around him, yards below him.

And yet, he wasn't here just to look at the mountain, but his desire to drop the One Ring into the flames consumed his need to do anything else. And yet, as he dared to move the One Ring's silver chain off from off his neck, his desire to throw the Ring into the lava meant he was onto something.

It wasn't until his best friend, Samwise Gamgee, interrupted his thoughts that Frodo turned and faced him. Frodo's keen eyes kept his gaze on Sam, not knowing what else to say or do. "I'm here, Sam!" Frodo cried, knowing this was his fate, if he failed this quest.

Frodo looked at Sam wandering eyes. He heard Sam say to destroy the Ring, but even he knew this was the final blow upon the Ring. Frodo turned and loomed over the ledge. He extended his hand, holding the silver chain, from which the Ring endured to embrace him. It haunted him as he looked at it, longing for it ever so slightly…

"…what are you waiting for? Just let it go!" Sam cried, his words bleeding into the Ring as it took its last blow.

Frodo's mind snapped. The Ring was his now. However, he didn't plan on Sméagol interrupting him.

And the rest is history.

Thanks for reading this fanfic. :) I'm curious if I cut it off too soon, or its good as is. I'm a little new to writing stand-alone fanfics again. So, hopefully, it worked out well. :) Reviews are appreciated. :)

Thanks again. :)
