Chapter 12
Chloe's parents are saved and they also change into the aura users with the help of Ash and Lillie. And since they are the Electric Aura Users, Ash asks his uncle Paris and the former Kalos Champion Diantha to train the family with the use of aura.
Now Chloe is with Ash and Lillie as they are having desserts in the Honey Cafe. Chloe says, "Are you sure everyone here in this region won't try to kill me if I just walk around as if nothing happened here?"
Lillie says, "Don't worry, everyone here can sense your aura, which means you're one of us. However, it is dangerous for you to just walk around on your own since you're new to this place. We will have to watch over you after all. Aura Users are just like you guys, there are good and there are bad. If you were killed by the bad ones, then it will be bad for us as well."
Chloe frowns and then she asks, "What about Goh? Did you execute him already?"
"Oh, Goh is still staying at that Dark dungeon, probably thinking about how to escape and how to find you." Ash says, "To tell you the truth, Chloe, even though we worked together as partners, I didn't like him at all."
This causes Chloe to look at him with confusion. Ash says, "Believe me, you have no idea how many times I had to clean the mess he made, and the fact that he keeps capturing Pokemon without trying to train them but to fulfill the Pokedex. It didn't help when he manages to kill Alice, one of my Elite Four members..."
Insey comes in a maid outfit and says, "If you don't know, Lillie is going to fulfill her role recently. And I'm sure that as a princess, she will be doing a great job."
Chloe looks at Insey's outfit and asks, "So you're working here?"
"Yes, this Honey Cafe is a Maid Cafe that sells the best desserts." Insey says. "I'm the owner and I might have some help from my siblings."
Ash says, "Indeed. Lillie and I are now owners of the biggest cooperation in the region: The RPA Company. We deliver the best to aura users and in return, they help us fight against our common enemy."
"I see." Chloe then says, "You said that Dawn and Serena were also a part of you, how did you manage to split into 3?"
Lillie says, "It is not a good story to talk about, considering it is also my first kill..."
"First kill?" Chloe asks. "How old were you back then?"
"Seven. But Ash has his first kill when he was four." Lillie says, causing Chloe to shiver.
"We don't like killing, but this is how the world works. In this cruel but beautiful world, fight or die, win and live, that's what I believe." Ash says.
"When I have to do my first kill, I couldn't do it. Because my first victim was trying to strangle Ash to death. Just then, I remembered. I had seen this same thing over and over all my life… we live in a cruel world after all." Lillie says.
"Wow..." Chloe says. "I don't think I have the courage to actually kill someone...even though I have been seeing countless of death people and the blood might have sprayed on me..."
"That's why you're a good person, and it will be bad if you were just killed because of it." Lillie says.
Chloe then remembers Leon with them and she asks, "And what about Leon? What were you planning to do with him?"
"Leon was giving us an idea of how to end all the conflict without the need of the Rumbling, after all, he is one of the good people I've seen so far who is willing to sacrifice his own blood to help devils like us."
"Yeah..." Chloe frowns as she is not sure which is right, which is wrong, who is the enemy, and who is the comrade. "And Ash, you said that you used to be N and Alain, right?"
"Yes, so basically, I was battling myself in the Kalos League. Although I have to admit, unlike N who was spying in Team Plasma, Alain was into the offer from Team Flare and become one of them until the attack on Lumiose City happened."
Lillie says, "Yeah, I still remembered how you blamed yourself because of it."
After finishing the desserts, Ash decides to head to the dark dungeon alone to see Goh. Goh glares at Ash and yells, "You! What have you done with Chloe?!"
Ash says in a cold tone, "Why do you want to know what happened to her?"
"You bastard! First, you showed up in front of us and worked as our lab partners, and that caused my parents to get killed and my Pokemon stolen! Then you show up again and kill more of our friends in the Wyndon Stadium! And now you've probably tortured or killed Chloe!" Goh yells.
"You are wrong, I will never kill Chloe since I owe her family to take me in despite me being an aura user. I've already been late to save Professor Kukui and his family, so I'm not going to make the same mistake twice." Ash snarls.
"Then what did you do to her!" Goh yells.
"What do you think? Giving Chloe and her family protection from the governments that try to kill their family. They will only be safe by becoming one of us." Ash says. "Meaning Chloe is not the same Chloe that you know. She's now a devil just like us if we want to use your tone."
Goh is shocked and horrified, Ash didn't dare to make Chloe an Aura User. Lillie also brings Chloe and Chloe says, "It's true."
"Chloe! What is he talking about? You've become an Aura User?" Goh yells while holding the bars tightly.
Chloe says, "I'm sorry to say this. But ever since Ash was exposed as an aura user, I have been wondering if killing the aura users is the right choice."
"What are you talking about? Did you forget how many people they killed, including my parents? And did you forget Ash stealing Suicune and Regieleki?" Goh asks. "And now you're joining their sides! How could you do this!"
"But without them, my family would've been killed!" Chloe says. "Ash was our Lab partner for a year, and that was enough for the Kanto Government to kill us."
"And that's why I have been helping them as well! I want to protect you guys as well!" Goh says. "You are the only family left, and I'm going to let those aura users pay!"
Chloe is angry and she raises her hand, touching the metal bar and causing the electricity to zap Goh. Goh falls to the ground with surprise.
"You have to calm down, Goh. Ash has every right to hate us, just like how we have every right to hate him as well. But with all the hate, when will the conflict end? Ash is capable of doing the Rumbling. Have you ever thought what if he activated it right now?"
Goh frowns, he knows that Legendary and Mythical Pokemon play a giant role in destroying the whole world. Lillie says, "And besides, the ones who killed your family are not us aura users, but the corrupted race of your kind. As for the Suicune and Regieleki that Ash stole, they only joined you with Ash's permission since he's the Grand Aura User. If only you haven't betrayed him, he wouldn't have stolen them and released them as well."
"Release... you released those two?" Goh gasps.
"Unless they want me to capture them, I only release those who I stole from bad or evil trainers." Ash says, "The moment you tried to attack me, it gives me the reason to release your Legendary Pokemon."
Ash takes a step forward and says, "Enjoy your time here in this cell, maybe you'll be saved, maybe you won't. It depends on how you act and how you do."
Then both Ash and Lillie leave, and Chloe says, "Sorry, Goh. But I'm going on Ash's side, if anything, aura users are not the real enemy, they are just wanting to survive."
Chloe also leaves and Goh yells, "Wait, Chloe! Come back! Don't leave me!" But it's too late, Chloe is already leaving the cell.
In the Alola Region, Gary is visiting his grandfather's cousin, Samson Oak. Gary says, "I still can't believe Alola is cold as an ice age. I mean, this place used to be a tropical place."
Samson frowns, "We were cursed by the Ice Type Aura Users, that's the reason Alola has been frozen."
"Ice Type Aura Users..." Gary remembers Ash mentioning that Lillie, Dawn, and Serena are Ice Type Aura Users, Samson says, "And if I have to guess, it should be Lillie. Considering that she chooses the Alolan Vulpix instead of a Kantonian Vulpix back in class."
"Lillie..." Gary frowns as he remembers the attack in Wyndon.
That's right. If anything, we are the bad guys here. We might destroy the world. You guys were taught everyone who is capable of aura was a devil. You were children who knew nothing, but it was drilled into you. You were just kids, what could you even do?
Dread fills in Gary's heart, and he asks, "Grandpa Samson...do you think I made the right choice to have the Kanto Government kill Ash's mother?"
Samson asks, "And why are you thinking about it? You've helped the World Alliance by doing so."
"But before I found out that Ash is an Aura User, we were childhood friends who have been playing together... It's hard for me to turn my back on him considering the fun times we spend together..." Gary says. "Maybe if I didn't do it, Ash wouldn't have been this cold-blooded, maybe he wouldn't have attacked the Wyndon Stadium, maybe Lillie wouldn't have set the whole Alola Region in a blizzard..."
Samson frowns, he knows very well how Ash and Lillie are back in the Trainer's school. Samson says, "Then let me ask you a question. Do you really think that Aura Users are devils like what we taught you?"
"Some of them might be devils, but there are some good people. Even though they have special powers, they're still similar to us as well..." Gary says. "I don't know what's right or wrong in this world, that's why there are some times I really want to escape everything by killing myself."
Samson says, "Have Samuel told you about my father before? Do you know how he died?"
Gary is confused, and Samson sighs, "My father... He was a teacher. One day, we were learning history. We were taught about the great Kalos War that happened 3000 years ago and then the great escape of Aura Users 2000 years ago. However, I... having doubts of my own, asked my father a question. My father evaded answering the question and ended the class as normal."
"What is the question?" Gary asks.
"Are all the Aura Users really the enemies of us humans?" Samson says. "After we got home, my father answered my question. He said the history books given by the government were full of contradictions and mysteries. He thought that Aura Users might not be enemies if we get to know more about them. He showed me some stories about how the Aura Users saved people. Like how Sir Aaron saved the Rota Kingdom by sacrificing himself, and other things. He continued to tell me more, and even as a child, I was astounded. There is a reason he didn't tell that story to the entire class, but I wasn't smart enough to know. I'd been telling the other kids my father's story, and one day, a member of the Kanto soldiers came to question me."
Samson frowns, "My father didn't come home that day... He died in an accident in Vermilion City. Based on what I knew, my father was killed by the government."
Gary widens his eyes in shock, and Samson sighs, "Ever since I was a child, I've been thinking...Why did my father have to die for nothing more than to get close to the truth? Even those in the government would believe what they're doing is just. However, I realized one thing about them... What they're trying to protect is not humanity, but their gardens, houses, and lands. Rather, if anyone dares threaten their authority, they'll be extinguished, whoever they are. In the end, there was nothing to justify my father's death. My father was killed by human greed... And by the foolishness of his own son."
"But how come my grandfather believes in the lies of the Kanto Government, he hates Aura Users as well... was it because of greed as well?" Gary asks.
"Tell me, have you seen him doing something bad to Ash before he was exposed?" Samson asks.
"No... in fact, he takes care of him like his grandson as well..." Gary says.
"He knows better than to argue with the government like my father. He knew why my father was killed and he didn't want to lose more family as well. That's why he has been lying to you instead of telling the truth like my father." Samson says.
Gary nods as he ponders the words of his granduncle.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, it is the calm before the storm. Chloe sees Goh and tells him the truth of her thoughts, and so is Ash. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will begin the war.
