Chapter one:

I glance to the door boarded up by a few wooden planks, one we closed off after we had to take down our own sensei. I don't regret doing so. I knew that it was for the sake of our brother.

It's still a bit of an adjustment for all of us.

Especially Leo who had to deal with such horrible things for so long.

Since the others learned about what was happening they've become more aware of the signs in Leo. They've definitely been keeping a closer eye on him, we all know it's just because they want to help in any way that they can.

I turn away to go into the dojo to join in this mornings practice session. I see that Leo and Mikey are sparring while Donnie observes them. I know it's so that way he can give them his feedback when done. I stand by him to watch as well wondering who will win.

Leo tends to win however Mikey is pretty crafty.

Under the right circumstances Mikey can even get a win on Leo in a spar like this one. If he actually plays his cards right. I can tell from watching Mikey that he is planning to, intentionally, allow Leo to win this time.

Mikey is just trying to not make it obvious. He probably thinks it'll bring some form of comfort to Leo; who is still healing from what Splinter forced him to endure.

I'm not sure if Donnie is going to point it out afterwards. I do have my doubts that he will. I suppose there's only one way to know for sure, and that's to wait to see. I don't want to give it away by just saying it out loud.

Leo could hear me ask Donnie since he has decent hearing. He jumps away from Mikeys swing to take out his legs. He leaps at Mikey to try to pin him. His landing gets a little wrong when the other moves to try to get out... Or at least half attempting to do so. He doesn't look hurt by the landing however he has to fix his position.

I can see him tense as he realizes he didn't do it perfectly before relaxing himself.

Mikey pauses as if having noticed as well giving him a worried look. He doesn't even try to take the opportunity to get away. He instead taps the mat surprising Leo at his tap out. "You we're gonna win that. I knew I was beat." He offers a small smile to Leo who moves off of him.

The two stand on their feet with Leo doing so first.

Leo glances around as if looking for Splinter hoping that his mistake wasn't seen. He turns as Mikey hugs him with worried tears.

I approach closer with Donnie. I put my arm around Leo, Donnie does so too, just as Leo puts his arms around Mikey. My action does cause him to turn to look at me. I did put my arm around him before Donnie did. "It's okay Leo."

"Yeah. No one's gonna hurt you over anything like that." Donnie adds offering a smile to our leader and brother. "I thought you both were doing great. Even with that small imperfection that is just fine. You did great."

"We're here for you." Mikey adds to him as Leo looks over us.

I can tell that our words do flatter him a little, which does make him cutely embarrassed. I do wish things could be fixed overnight.

Life just doesn't work that way unfortunately.

I nuzzle Leo's cheek to try to help reassure him. I don't want to bring up the one who tormented Leo. I don't want to bring up any bad memories.

Especially after Leo already worried about having made a mistake. When he no longer has any reason to worry about that.

I do find that Leo relaxes a little with our comforting. I am glad for this and I think seeing that the door is boarded up might help. I just won't force it. "Why don't we take a break?" I suggest deciding to at least get him out to where he can look at it. I want him to see it and remember that Splinter isn't here to hurt him anymore.

Donnie could have caught on to my plan, I'm not really sure. He nods to my idea. "Yeah. That'll be a good idea. We can resume later if you feel up for it." He helps to gently lead Leo out of the room.

Mikey letting go of the hug too let all of us move to another room.

I keep a close eye on Leo who tries to stare straight ahead. I know he's trying to not think about a punishment for something so small. I let myself glance to that door before I look back to Leo, hoping he looks too.

Leo fidgets with his hands and after a moment, we're almost to the couch, he finally peeks at the door. He blinks at seeing it that way, before he does indeed remember that Splinter is gone. He relaxes even more at this reminder just before he is gently encouraged to sit on the couch. He quickly snuggles into me which I happily reciprocate.

"Wanna watch something maybe?" I offer to him to which he shrugs as if not caring what we do. I don't want to put pressure on him to decide. I want him to relax. I see him settle on his back laying his head on my lap watching the Tv. I turn on the Tv flipping through the channels to see what I can find. I'm looking for something that I know he'll enjoy. I also make sure to watch for him to react to anything that is turned on. I do so by keeping him in the side of my vision. If I see anything then I'll stop flipping and turn to him to confirm. I don't go fast to make sure we both get an idea of what's on each channel. I pause on one channel as I do notice his eyes perk in interest slightly to pay more attention. I look to him seeing curious interest at what is playing on the screen. With my confirmation I lower the remote and turn to look at what's playing.

It's an animated show about a group trying to survive in what's left of civilization.

I actually think that I might enjoy this as well. I lean back on the couch letting it play. I am happy since I have my love right here with me. I turn as after a little of watching this thing as Leo shifts up then leans up against me. I drape my arm over him letting him snuggle close to me again, this time him sitting instead of laying. "I've got you." I whisper to him to which he nods softly. I just want to make sure that he won't drift into thoughts and worry about anything.

We watch the show for a bit checking out if it's any good or not.

The episode ends which I take as my cue to look to Leo. "What do you think?" I inquire to him causing him to turn to me.

"It's alright. Could have been better however it has its charm to it. It's enjoyable enough that I wouldn't mind sitting through more of it."

"Well that's good." I nod to this before noticing Donnie coming over.

"Hey." Donnie greets also gaining Leo's attention. "I just finished a new machine. Wanna come and check it out? We could even do a test run. If you don't want to that's okay." He offers to which I glance to Leo.

I wanna see what Leo's mood is on this.

Leo only briefly thinks it over before he nods his head. "You have my curiosity about what it is." He admits so the two of us get up, I turn off the Tv of course, and follow Donnie to the lab.

We are lead to where Mikey is waiting to which he smiles in greeting to us.

Donnie looks to a large machine with a circular ring that is a decent size. "This is it." He tells the three of us as we listen. "It's something I've been working on for awhile now. It's a machine that should be able to open up portals to allow travel to other worlds."

I blink at this. "Other worlds?"

"Yeah. It follows the idea that there is other worlds out there. Each world could be similar to ours or very different." Donnie tells us as we listen to what he has to say. "It's a vast place where there is more worlds than anyone could ever count!"

"Then lets test it!" Mikey chirps excitedly. "Maybe we will find a world where we have magical powers!"

Donnie looks to me and Leo to see if we want to be here to try it out too.

I am actually cool with testing it. I can tell that we don't have to go into the portal, so we don't have to try to escape anything.

Besides we could just close the portal if needed.

Leo nods seeming to follow the same thought trail as I had. "Let's take a look into another world. We won't be going in the portal though."

"Sounds good." Donnie goes to start up the machine. He pushes a button and the thing comes to life.

It almost sounds like a louder version of the noise of a fridge.

Donnie pauses as he stares at a screen in front of a keyboard.

"This is exciting!" Mikey stares at the portal with wide eyes.

"Hold on!" Donnie gets our attention to him. "Another world is trying to open one. I just turned on the machine at the same time, so it must have pulled that signal to here." He heads over to us three as we wait to see what kind of world opens up.

A ring of light appears in the middle of the circular ring of the machine. It expands to show a lab similar, if not the same, as Donnies lab. It however starts to suck the four of them towards the portal. The ring of light sparking as if not fully stable.

The four of us try to plant their feet down to anchor ourselves. We don't want to let ourselves be pulled into the portal. We do find that as the portal gets more unstable the stronger it pulls.

I even grab onto Leo to try to help him just in case.

Mikey is the first to lose as he is swept away through the portal.

Followed by Donnie who dashes forward to try to help Mikey.

I don't even need to glance to Leo to know we're thinking the same way.

We give in to the pull not wanting to leave our brothers stranded; I also let go of Leo so I don't pull him to tumble with me maybe making the landing worse.

All of us are tossed to the ground either on our backs or stomachs.

I personally land on my stomach.

The portal closes behind us as it becomes too unstable to stay open.

The four of us shift to our hands and knees then to our feet. We glance to each other to check that we're all okay. We are relieved that none of us are hurt.

"I don't believe it." A voice causes us to turn to the control panel for the machine. There stands a Donnie who looks exactly like our Donnie.

All of this is using two different versions of the 2012 turtle worlds. Just to make it clear. As well as that this is a part two to a story of mine called Let Me Help You. So go check it out if you haven't already. But a warning that it does contain abuse and such. So be ready if you do decide to check it out.

I am posting this today because it's Canada Day and I've been working to finish the last scene. So I decided to finish this story for this day.
