Drakken had been obsessing for months about some project of his. Something with mind control. He stayed in his lab, working late, which was fine by her that they were laying low. (She did just kill a man. It behooved her to stay in for a few months.) He had her doing odd jobs and random stealing, which was fine as long as it wasn't too drastic. Finally, when the time came, they were able to steal the big invention he had been talking about for the last three months. However, things took a weird turn when she couldn't speak what was on her mind.

"That is fascinating, Dr. Drakken." Shego was being nice to him, saying yes to all of his demands and listening to him. She was never this nice- this obedient- but she couldn't help herself. She knew he had that stupid neuro compliance chip on her. He blabbed on and on about it while the only thing she could do is agree with him. How frustrating! And this, this type of behavior, oh she was going to punish him so hard when she-

"Want to hear more scintillating stories from my formative years?" he asked, stroking his thumb against her cheek.

She wanted to twist his arm off and blast him to the freaking moon, but all that could come out was a simple "Yes, Dr. Drakken."

He shrugged. "No time. I have to make more chips if I want the world to be blindly obedient to me. And you know I do, Shego." He grinned ever so slightly.

She could feel her own rage building up, but every time it was about to come out, it was subdued by the stupid chip on her forehead. "Yes, Dr. Drakken," she heard herself say again.

The next hours were filled with Drakken telling Shego what to fetch for his project or him telling Shego stories about his childhood. Stories that she really did not care about although they might come in handy later for humiliation purposes.

"Oh this one time- I think I was in 4th grade- I had a crush on a girl. MaryBeth Jenkins was her name. My mom had this magazine that I read, and it suggested that you write a letter to your crush. So I did, Shego. I thought MaryBeth and I would fall in love. That's what the magazine told me." He paused to screw a bolt into the new chip he was building. "Oh, how she laughed at me, Shego. She laughed, and she showed our whole grade!" He slammed his fist down on the table, frustrated at the memory he was sharing. "It was humiliating! It made me question if I was lovable!"

The only thing stopping Shego from laughing at him was the chip. She couldn't even believe he was sharing such things. He must not think that she will remember it when the chip comes off. If the chip comes off. What if he never takes it off? "But I am loveable! I have so many redeeming qualities!" he continued. "I'm brilliant. Witty. Funny. I can sing karaoke like no tomorrow. I'm a real catch. Don't you agree, Shego?"

"Yes, Dr. Drakken." She wished she could slap herself out of it, but the fact of the matter is, until he took this dumb chip off, she was stuck.

"You see how nice it is around here when we agree on everything, Shego." He smiled at her, and then he laughed. "Oh how nice it would be to stay like this forever."

She wanted to scream, to blast him, to hit him, to kick his ass, but she settled for a "Yes, Dr. Drakken." She shuddered in her chair.

…..

Shego could not have been more thankful for Kim Possible and her twin brothers to show up. It took her a second to collect her thoughts once the chip was deactivated. She glanced around her surroundings, and when her eyes landed on him, she lost it. "DRAKKEN!"

He took a few steps back, his eyes growing wide as she stepped toward him. "For future reference," she continued. "The chip made me obey every command, but I was aware of exactly what was happening."

His eyes grew wide. "The whole time?"

"ARGG! Do you have any idea what listening to you is like?!" He made a run for it, but she chased him.

They made it all the way to the forest. He dodged her blasts by luck, but she caught up with him and tackled him to the ground. She pinned him. Her legs were on either side of his torso, and she held his arms above his head. His eyes grew in fear as he could see anger in hers.

She let her death grip on his wrists tighten as her hands lit up with green plasma. He screamed in agony at the burning sensation. She let the fire out, and when he opened his eyes, she was still on top of him, an evil grin on her face. "However much you think I'm pissed," she said, but leaned in to whisper the rest of it. "Triple it, and that's how pissed I actually am."

He gulped. "Now Shego, I-" His sentence went unfinished when he had to scream once again at the resurfacing burning sensation in his wrist. She let the fire die out as quickly as it started.

"I trusted you! I let myself sign your ridiculous contract and get comfortable around you, and for what? So you could take advantage of me?" Drakken attempted to sit up, but Shego repositioned her body weight, slamming him back to the ground.

"Shego, please. Let's talk about this," he tried to reason with her, which he knew was a waste of time. There was no reasoning with her when she had that look in her eyes. That deathly terrifying look had been the reason he hired her. She could put the fear of God into anyone. He didn't consider what would happen when that anger was directed at him.

She let one wrist go, so she could allow her fingers to trace the scar across his face. "How did you get that scar, Doc?" He didn't answer, not that she actually cared for the answer anyway. Her fingers moved away from the scar and to the other side of his face. "Maybe we could make you more symmetrical. You know, a scar under your other eye too?"

She was in a trance, and he used this to his advantage. He shoved her off of him, and she grunted when she hit the ground. He got up quickly and made a run for it. It wasn't long before she was up and ran toward him. She jumped off a tree stump and flipped in front of him, meeting him face to face. He was stupid to run. He knew that. She was faster, stronger, and in much better shape than he had been.

Each time she took a step toward him, he took a step back. They did this a few times until his back hit a tree. He gulped. Her hands were lit green and her eyes were incredibly angry. "I-" she started to say but stopped herself. She took a step back, glancing Drakken up and down like she just then recognized who was in front of her. She shook her head at herself, and the fire retreated back into her palms.

"Shego?" he tried, but she was lost in her own world now. She took a few more steps back from him before she turned around and ran away from him entirely.

…...

She left him in that forest two weeks ago, and she had not seen him since. She went to the spa, the beach, hell, even the library. She went anywhere she could think of to relax, but her mind did not stop. She hadn't been so out of control of her anger in a long time- not since it was directed at her brothers the day she left. It was like she was out of her body, and she had no say in what it was doing. She shivered at the thought of herself on top of him, burning his wrists. God, what had she done? She had every right to be angry, so why did she feel so guilty?

She sighed to herself. In such a short time, Drakken had become a home to her- a broken home- but a home nevertheless. And she supposed it was time to go home and fix this damn mess.

….

The henchmen started whispering when they saw her. It took everything in her to not kick their asses, but she supposed if she was going to talk to Drakken about her violent tendencies, she shouldn't come in the lair swinging.

He was in his lab, as she assumed he would be, but he wasn't working. He was slouching. He looked almost depressed. She knocked lightly on the already open door. "Doc?"

He jumped up, knowing that voice immediately. He turned to her, fear plastered on his face.

Shego put her hands up in surrender. "I'm not going to hurt you."

He glared at her, but then nodded his head. She lowered her hands slowly to her sides and met Drakken's eyes. "I'm sorry." Drakken and Shego said at the same time, and at that, both of their mouths fell open.

"You're sorry?" Shego couldn't believe that the conceited genius was actually apologizing.

"Yeah. I- I mean. I shouldn't have-" he rubbed the back of his neck, trying to formulate the correct words. "I shouldn't have taken advantage of your trust in me. I shouldn't have tested a device on you without your permission first." Drakken looked down at his feet, nervous to meet her eyes.

Her lips lifted into a tiny smile. "Yeah, well I didn't handle it the best either." He lifted his head up so their eyes could meet, and Drakken could see that she was truly sorry for her actions. She wanted to cry, but she would not allow herself. "I was so angry, and I lost control. I'm sorry."

He nodded, tears forming in his eyes. "All is forgiven, Shego." He extended his arm out to her, causing his lab coat to lift slightly at the cuffs. She saw it then. The burn marks on his wrists. The burn marks that were two weeks old but still looked fresh.

"Oh my God," she whispered as she lightly grabbed his hand, turning it over so she could see his wrist fully. "Drakken, I-" she couldn't stop the tears now. Her sobs were uncontrollable, and her body began to tremble. "I didn't- mean-to," she said between cries.

Drakken didn't know what to do. Two weeks ago was the first time he'd ever seen her lose control of her emotions, but he had certainly never seen her cry. Her fingers lightly traced the burn, and a few tears dripped off her face and onto his wrist. "Hey," he whispered as he placed a finger under her chin and lifted it up so their eyes could meet once again. "It's alright. I forgive you, Shego."

She cried louder, and fell into him. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug. Her face was placed firmly on his chest, which muffled out her cries. He ran one hand through her hair to console her. "Shhhh," he whispered. "I'm fine, Shego. You didn't hurt me."

She lifted her face off his chest and met his eyes. Her body was still pressed against his, and his arms were still around her waist. "I did hurt you, Doc." Her words were barely a whisper. "I'm sorry."

He smiled at her. "It was nothing I didn't deserve." She shook her head. He may have been a genius, but he was wrong about this one. He did not deserve that, but she smiled back at him, thankful that he forgave her so quickly.

She reluctantly left his embrace and wiped her cheeks. They were both silent for a moment before she spoke. "Hey Doc? Maybe we should add something about mind control in our contract?"

He chuckled as he leaned against his desk. "Yeah. Maybe that is a good idea."
