I feel like a different girl as I emerge from the stall, or rather a butterfly freeing itself from the chrysalis. But it will be sometime before I can fly, for the room is crowded, and I often hide my face because of my shyness.
I walk towards the tables. Feet itching wanting to dance, but I must refuel my body first. "You look lovely!" the girl who helped earlier says. What was her name? Lyra? "Thank you." "But tonight, you'll need a mask, for on a night of a full moon is full of magic and mystery." I giggle, slipping on my mask. "I won't be far," Lyra says.
I sit down my eyes scanning the room, and I see who I think is Cat approaching the table, but he looks so much like Adrien, at first I think my eyes are playing tricks on me. "Adrien?" the name tumbles out of my mouth before I can stop it. "Ladybug?" I launch myself at him, throwing my arms around him. "I can't believe your here. I knew we would find each other, someday." "Is Cat with you?" he asks. I gesture for him to take a seat. "Yes, but knowing Cat, he's out on the dance floor already."
I take in his outfit, a black shirt and pants, and I notice that the top three buttons are unbuttoned, showing me a peek at his chest. "Did you look at the menu yet?" he holds it up, smiling. I shake my head.
Lyra comes over to our table. "What would you like to drink, now that your settled?" I bite my lip, for I'm anything but settled as my longtime crush sits across from me. Its to late for coffee, so I settle for a hot chocolate. "Just one glass of white wine, then water," Adrien says.
As Lyra walks away, Adrien leans back against the seat. "So, what have you been up to, Ladybug?" "Saving the world, as always. Apparently, Hawkmoth fled into the mountains." Adrien leans forward, our fingers almost brushing each other. "And if….."
"Here you are!" Lyra is back with our drinks, and we straightened up quickly. The warm sweetness of the chocolate is good, warming me. Adrien takes a sip of wine, leaning forward once again. "Your were saying?" I tell him, copying his position. "And if you weren't fighting crime, what would you want to be doing?" "I would...want to raise a family of my own. Open a little shop, you knew I wanted to be a designer. You?" "I still have yet to figure out my path."
Lyra comes back and Adrien asks if he can order for me, and I nod. The soup sounds delicious, and my stomach growls in agreement. "If I may ask, what are you doing here?" "Traveling the world was on my list of things to do, once I escaped my father's clutches."
I listen to Adrien's story as I eat my soup, and before long we are chatting like we've never left each other. "May I have bit of wine?" I ask, pointing to the cup. He slides it over, and when I take a drink, my mouth is filled with bubbles. Adrien leans forward, cupping his chin in his hands. "How is it?" his breath, sweet from the wine, washes over me. "Bubbly." I giggle, sliding it back. "Would you like to dance?" Adrien asked, and I nod.
As we step out onto the floor, the mood changes as a slow song comes on, and Adrien pulls me close. I breathe in his scent, listening to the beating of his heart, a melody that only he and I can hear. Desire pluses through my veins, and I catch his eye, blushing as red as my dress. "Come with me," he says, leading me towards an exit, and the music fades behind us.
The night air is cool as Adrien leads me towards the Kings Inn. The wine is taking effect, for I haven't thought of Cat all evening. Adrien takes my hand and I follow him down a hallway to a small room. The room is small but cozy, but as soon as Adrien shuts the door, his mouth is on mine, and I don't stop him. My hands find his hair, tangling my hands in it, then gripping tightly when he deepens the kiss.
Then as quickly as he begin he stops, and I look up at him, panting a slight pout on my face. "Why'd you stop?" I ask. His hands find my bare knee, and I feel my breath hitch. "Ladybug, I want you, but I need your permission first." "Yes," I whisper. His fingers crawl higher, finding my panties, finding my sensitive spot. "Adrien," I moan as his finger moves back and forth, and I feel a wetness spreading out. "So wet, so quickly. Let's get you out of this dress."
The dress is a simple pullover, and he finds my bra clasp easily, unclicking it and pushing down the straps slowly. My identity is still safe under the mask, but I want this. I want Adrien to see who I am. "Beautiful," he says, then slides my panties off, kicking them into a corner. "Your turn."
I could undo the buttons of his shirt quickly, but what would be that fun of that? Slowly, I undo each one, finding more of his skin. At last, his shirt flutters to the floor and I place my hands on his chest, feeling the warmth.
But then I'm whisked into his arms as he carries me to the bed, and lays me down gently. His belt thunks to the floor, and Adrien Agreste is standing naked before me. "Am I dreaming?" I ask, taking him in. He chuckles, then dips into me, and I close my eyes, getting used to the feeling.
We start slow, but pick up quickly, as if we were made to match up. Tonight, no suits make barriers, just us, lost in each other….
I wake to the sound of a rooster crowing, and I sit up in bed. "Cat!" Cat must be so worried, he might think I left him. "Ladybug, you okay?" I turn to Adrien, pulling my sheet to my chest. "Cat must be worried sick, I need to…" "Shh," Adrien calms my beating heart with a kiss. "Cat saw me and wanted me to tell you that he was going to visit a friend. I must have forgotten." "Okay."
"Now that we're both up, what would you like to do?" We laugh and Adrien pulls me to him, and we begin were we stared last night.
"Ugh, I stink," I say awhile later. "I need a shower. Join me?" Adrien nods, and carries me to the bathroom.
The hot water is heaven, as Adrien soaps me down, washing away all the grime and stink. At the back of my mind, I can't help thinking how his movements are so similar to Cat's in certain ways.
Finally, showered, dressed, and breakfast eaten, we exit the inn. "Thanks for one of the best night's of my life, Ladybug. Greet Cat for me?" "I will." Adrien starts to head down the street, but stops when I ask a question. "Adrien?" "Yes, Little Bug?" he comes back over. "You said, one of the best nights ever. So, um, what was the first?" "Easy," he cups my cheek and gives me a kiss. "The day I met you."
I don't have to wait long before I see Cat, and a rush of happiness fills me and I dash towards him. "Kitty!" He scoops me up in his arms and twirls me, and I laugh aloud with joy. "Sorry about last night, Bugaboo." "No worries, Cat, I saw Adrien!" "Now there's some luck. He's doing well?" I nod. "I danced with him. I hope you don't mind." "Why would I mind? Adrien is very special to you."
Oh, Kitty, if you knew what we did last night, I doubt you'd be saying these things. "Did you see your friend?" I ask. Cat's face has a certain glow to it, and he blinks in surprise before answering. "Yes! She'll doing fine, it was nice to catch up." he gives a happy sigh.
"She?" I try to keep the worry out of my voice, but fail. "A good friend." The climbing starts again, and an hour later, we take a break to check the map. "We should try hiking to here today," Cat points to a place marked "Twin Whirlpools and Falls". "Sounds good."
Water means food is close by, and the packs are low. We're quiet as we walk, and I think of Adrien's hands…..
"Ladybug?" Cat waves a hand in front of my face. "What?" "I asked what way we should go. Left or right?"
I snap back to the present and see the trail is forked. "I have a idea. Give me your baton," I take it, squatting down and looking up at Cat. "I'll give it a spin, and whatever directions it stops that's the trail we take."
I spin the baton and stand, watching the baton. "Left." I unhook my yo-yo, spinning it and moving forward, for the path ahead is tangled with branches. "The path seems to be moving upwards, and that's the direction we want to be headed." "Good. I'm glad its the right trail."
My heart is pumping hard, and I realize the farther up the mountain we go, the less oxygen there is. Something to keep in mind.
Progress is slow as we have to rest often, but towards mid-afternoon I hear a distant rumble. I scan the sky, but no clouds are in sight, so it must be the falls.
Motivated by fresh food and water, we march on, ever upwards. The falls get louder and louder until we reach the top of the hill….
A waterfall thunders down above us, taking our breath away. Then I spot the twin pools and begin to run towards it, for cool water is what I crave most at this moment.
