American Dragon Up! Season 02 Episode 08
We see that Jake's family were getting out of a cab and dealing with luggage going into a large building where a blonde girl had been waiting inside for them as they were being checked in by the person behind the counter who'd ran the information and handed over the keys to where they would be staying and we then see them all going over to the elevators where Jake had sat down his bags and hugged the blonde girl for a moment. When Haley had gotten over to them Jake had moved so that she could do the same as well.
After Haley had hugged Rose she let go once her and Jake's parents had come over with their dad questioning "Well now, who is this young lady?" wanting to know why they'd hugged this girl he's never met.
"Mom, Dad, this is Rose. She's my um.. my uh." Jake began to speak but realized that they hadn't actually discussed what kind of relationship they have together and so couldn't come up with the right words.
Seeing Jake's stuttering Rose speaks up saying "Girlfriend, I'm Jake's Girlfriend. It's nice to meet you." which surprised Jake that she'd just outright say it.
"Ya, it was just pure luck that we had to be in Hong Kong so soon." Jake then stated about the family vacation and meeting up with Rose.
They'd gotten onto the elevator together going to where they'd be staying and once they'd gotten in there Jake's dad had gotten out a list along with a pencil and some books with Haley asking "Dad can we just not go overboard with the sight seeing?"
Jake then joined in saying "Ya like, the point of vacation is to relax right? Wouldn't seeing too many places kinda defeat the purpose?"
Johnathan, Jake and Haley's dad, responds saying "Oh don't worry I've narrowed it down to only seven hundred and fourty eight attractions." while unraveling a list making them sigh.
"Uh, there's only Nine important must see places in Hong Kong Mr. Long." Rose then spoke up telling them there was no need to visit all those places.
"That's dad for you, he's a nut when it comes to seeing everything he can before we leave." Haley then spoke as Jake and Rose went on outside to the balcony to relax for a bit.
"There is still work to be done for this vacation Jake." Lao Shi stated to the two of them making him groan.
"Hey don't worry about it kid. It's only for a couple of hours after that you'll be free to enjoy the rest of the vacation time doing what you like." Fu Dog then spoke up opening up a book and showing them a temple on top of one of the mountain areas.
"The Temple was the first Dragon Temple ever built thousands of years ago atop what is known as the back of the dragon. All the world's dragons will gather there at the summit temple for a mandatory meeting. After the Lunar Eclips tomorrow night that will be over and oyu will be able to have your fun." Lao Shi then finished explaining to them about what's going on.
"I'll see you after the Dragon stuff tomorrow." Rose spoke choosing this time to head on out "I gotta take care of some Huntsclan stuff anyway."
Jake nodded and Rose had left for the elevators. The next day they'd been out and about seeing various sights and while Johnathan seemed ready to explore more the rest of the family had been somewhat exhausted from it following behind at a much slower pace than he was.
"Johnathan, can't we take a break for awhile?" Susan, Jake and Haley's mom, then questioned looking tired walking up to them slowly.
"Dad, you're spending more time with those tourbooks than with us don't you think you can chill out for a bit?" Jake then spoke up asking his dad to just stop for a minute.
"Oh, that reminds me I wanna check out some of the stuff from this book." His dad responds opening up a book that let out strands of glowing energy about it.
"Uh dad, where did you get that book?" Haley questioned looking slightly concerned by what he was looking at.
"Oh, this? I found it on your granddad's desk as we were closing up the shop. It's full of cool local stuff not in the other books." Johnathan then spoke turning to walk with the book to continue the tour around the city.
Jake starts to worry and says "Mom, you and Haley gotta get that book away from dad. It's a magical tour book, he's gonna end up finding out everything."
Haley calls "On it." as she and their mom chase after their dad to go and stop him from what he's doing with the book.
Someone had used a glowing purple net to snatch Lao Shi while they were distracted and Jake chases after them using a claw to cut a Skateboard from one of the crates around since there were too many witnesses to change into his dragon form. He'd skated around their blasts as he continued to chase the vehicle and eventually had to skate up onto some larges shipping crates. He'd then chased them into a large building with all the windows and doors closing and being locked on their own with swirling energy gathering and causing the Dark Dragon to appear from thin air.
"Dark Dragon." Jake spoke looking up at them and looking around seeing the shadow minions of the Dragon ready to attack at a moments notice.
"It's been a long time American Dragon." The Dark Dragon spoke to him as Jake glared angry to see him.
"Not long enough. Dragon Up!" Jake answered before then changing into his dragon form in a burst of flames ready to fight against them.
The Dark Dragon slammed Jake into the ground with his tail and we see the person who grabbed Lao Shi appearing with Jake demanding "Let my Grandfather go!" charging forwards only for the dark dragon to blast part of the floating scoreboard dropping it on top of him and making Jake change back.
"You want Lao Shi back, it's simple really." The person spoke coming over and revealing theirself as the former councelor Chang as they held up a bottle "Slip a few drop of this potion into the drinks of the world dragons and you will have your Grandfather returned alive."
The Dark Dragon then vanishes with Chang and Lao Shi leaving Jake with the bottle and so he'd gone to show Fu who tells him "It's clearly some dark mind control potion." and Jake puts it into his bag but before they could discuss more the rest of the family showed up.
"Hey there's this little hole in the wall place where you literally walk through a wall to get to, how exciting." Johnathan spoke and we cut to them at the place as he was looking around saying "Great costumes it's like a Role Player's paradise here."
They just sorta let him believe that was the case as he was brough a drink called Transformation Tea and he takes a sip completely missing the fact that the tea had given him donkey ears and a tail to match. Rose had soon joined them at the table with Jake Haley and Fu.
"The Dark Dragon is the only one that has ever gone bad. Dragons don't really have any experience fighting other Dragons." Fu then stated to them looking worried.
"Fortunately I do, however if there's too many Huntsclan memebers there at once we may accidentally ruin the plan or worse, start a war with the world dragons." Rose then stated to them about fighting their shared enemy.
"I called Danielle and she and the others should be here soon." Haley then spoke up next saying she's already called the rest of the team.
Rose looked towards Jake's parents and saw what was happening and smirks saying "Guys, I think I just got an idea." and starts to tell them the plan before heading out to go after something.
Once they were back to the room Johnathan had gone to get some ice and Susan questions "Alright, where's dad at?" looking at the her kids wanting to know what's going on.
Fu Dog answered back saying "Long story short, the old man was kidnapped by the Dark Dragon to force Jake to slip the rest of the Dragons a mind control potion."
"I'd better prepare too this is gonna be a tough battle. Dragon Up!" Haley then spoke before changing into her Dragon form as Johnathan had come back in and been caught by surprised.
"Dad we can explain." Jake spoke helping their dad to a chair before he could collapse onto the ground.
While they were explaining it Rose had gone to the main building for the Huntsclan and went into an area that was sorta like a prison stopping in front of a man who was bald but who's head had the head of a dragon as part of their marking and the neck had moved down towards their chest area.
"There's an evil being known as the Dark Dragon trying to take over the magical races and destroy humanity." Rose spoke throwing the key to the cell over to him.
"After your betrayl you ask for my help now daughter?" The man spoke revealing that he was the now former Huntsmaster. "Get out."
We then cut back to Jake and the others seeing that the rest of the team had finally met up with them all with Jake saying "And that's the gist of everything going on. But we've got a plan."
"And not a moment too soon, the eclipse is starting we'd better hurry if you plan to make it in time to serve the tea." Den spoke up as Jake saw everything and we see Ship flying over before activating stealth mode. hiding everyone that wasn't Jake and Haley who'd flown there instead.
"Y'know you're taking this remarkably well." Susan spoke to Johnathan putting her hand on his shoulder.
"Well I always sorta knew there was something special about my family." He'd responded as the others were waiting for the signal.
We see Jake taking on the role of pouring the tea for the toast and he'd secretly poured something from the bottle that had been given to him by Cheng as the head of the council had been giving the speech welcoming them all to the summit. All the other dragons but Jake, Haley, and Fred who Jake had whispered something to had drank the spiked tea while those three pretending to drink it but had actually poured it out over their shoulders unnoticed.
The Dark Dragon had appeared and laughed as the rest of the world Dragons had changed from their human forms to their dragon forms saying "You've all lost. The American Dragon has slipped you all a mind control potion and you are now under my spell."
"I didn't have a choice, he has my grandfather." Jake told the other Dragons and the Dark Dragon make Lao Shi appear still trapped in the Sphinx Hair net.
"Korean Dragon, destroy Councilor Andam." The Dark Dragon then commanded as Sun tried to fight it, but then something strange happened as she'd grown large ears, then a tail then buck teeth and turned into a mouse dropping to the ground.
"Local delicacy Transmutation Tea." Jake smirked as the rest of the dragons changed into animals as well. "I just had to get you here to free Gramps."
With that a blue flame blasted the net burning it apart and Lao Shi transformed into his dragon form and smacked the Dark Dragon with his tail flying away. Angry the Dark Dragon then summoned a bunch of his shadow creatures and Ship let the others drop down below joining into the battle before chaging into a powerful spotlight that could be carried around by Johnathan and Susan.
Rose had used her staff to cut through some of the shadows as the other dragons were slowly starting to return to normal and join into the battle too. Raven had knocked the Dark Dragon into a wall along with Lao Shi while both Den and Harrison called out "Doublespell Boltflare!" at the same time summoning bright orbs to help the dragons get rid of the shadow creatures.
Danielle blasted at them with her ghost ray and Cujo had become an attack dog comping down on a bunch of shadows too with everyone trying to fight and get rid of the shadows they were slowly managing to over whelm the Dark Dragon's minions as he and Chang had broken free from Raven's power.
The Dark Dragon had decided to become serious after his minions were dealt with and the other Dragons had gone after Cheng pinning her to the ground as she called out "Master help!" however all she'd gotten was blasted to dust.
"Such a disappointment." The Dark dragon then laughed and looked at them all as the others dragons had gathered together and they'd all blasted at him at once.
The Dark Dragon had been blasted into one of the walls but had quickly recovered with Jake calling out "Raven, get as many people out as you can! I'll hold off Tall Dark and Ugly."
Raven then began to do that teleporting in and out taking several dragons with her along with their teammates however she'd grown weary and had fallen towards the ground with Sun grabbing her so that she wouldn't hit it. "I can't go back, not enough power." she'd told Haley's Dragon Teacher.
"They're on their own now." Lao Shi spoke looking concerned as well and they'd had to stop Johnathan from trying to race back in there as the final phase of the Lunar Eclipes had begun.
Someone had appeared in a Huntclan Uniform with a skull helmet and staff and jumped over the Dragons racing on inside where the Dark Dragon had blasted at Rose with Jake taking the hit and both of them being knocked back into a pillar however before he could do more something had put a cut into the Dark Dragon causing them to roar out in pain as Jake had managed to get up but Rose was unconsious.
"American Dragon, I tell you this because I will do anything for my daughter's safety against magical threats so listen closely as there's not much time. The mark upon the arm of her friend it's called the Mark of Skath. Go to Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island and find the library hidden underneath, there you will find your answers. Now take my daughter and Go!" The man reveled to be the Huntsmaster spoke telling them how to find what they were looking for and to get out of there. "And tell my daughter I'm sorry, and that I love her."
Jake nodded saying "If anyone can beat this bastard it'd be you, give 'em hell Huntsmaster." before then flying off towards the exit.
we see the eyes of the Huntsman seem to give an air of twisted pleasure saying "I always do." as we see outside everyone is waiting for what happens next.
Outside we see a portal start to open up and swallow the temple with Jake barely making it out carrying Rose with it vanishing just as the tip of his tail had made it out and he'd dropped to the ground returning to human form exhaused with everyone starting to celebrate and Rose had started to come to looking around.
"What happened?" She'd questioned and Jake had looked saddened by what he'd have to say. "JAKE WHAT HAPPENED!?" She'd demanded wanting to know how they got out.
"It was the former Huntsmaster, your dad he'd.." Jake began to say trying to find the right words. "He'd sacrificed himself to keep the Dark Dragon from escaping..." looking saddened at the loss.
"No, he's.. he can't be.." Rose began to speak looking even more saddened by what Jake was telling her as she'd started to cry and a few tears spilled over from Jake's eyes too.
"I'm sorry Rose. He wanted me to give you a message. He wanted me to tell you that he's sorry and, and that he loves you." spoke the American Dragon as he'd put his hand onto her shoulder Rose continued to cry and hugged Jake with him just holding her there and letting her get it all out of her system as the moon was setting and the sun had started to finally rise.
