Shego rolled her eyes at the two men in her line of vision (if you could call them men; she'd argue against that one). Drakken and his cousin, Eddie (he liked to be called Motor Ed, but she was absolutely not respecting that wish), were working on repairing the destructive vehicle that Drakken called The Doom V. (The princess had destroyed it, and Drakken and Ed were on a mission to fix it).The two had been fighting all day; she was honestly shocked they got any work done at all.
"Hey green Babe, check this out! Seriously!" Motor Ed tapped on the vehicle with one hand and flipped his mullet back with the other.
She groaned and her hands lit up. "If you call me Babe one more time, I swear you will regret it."
Drakken tapped his shoulder to try to get his attention away from Shego, but it was no use. "Man, she's feisty! That's so hot, babe!"
She sent a multitude of blasts his way, which threw him across the room. "Drakken," she gritted through her teeth as she stomped over to him. "I'm sick of this. He's on my last fucking nerve. Control your cousin before I kill him."
She stormed toward the door. "Where are you going?" Drakken asked her.
"I am going to see Midas at the spa. When I get back, there better be some attitude adjustments." She directed that last comment toward Ed, who was getting up off the floor and brushing himself off.
She slammed the door behind her, and Drakken cringed. This was not good. He turned to his cousin. "You need to lighten up on Shego. She might actually kill you, and I won't be able to stop her."
"Psshht. A woman won't kill me. Come on. Seriously, dude." Motor Ed grabbed a wrench and started working on the bottom of the car again.
Drakken tapped his fingers together nervously. "You don't know Shego, Eddie."
Ed turned to face Drakken and smirked. "Are you into her, cuz?"
Drakken blushed. "What? Me? No, no, no."
Ed raised an eyebrow. "You know, Aunt Debbie told me that there was something going on between you and her."
Drakken groaned. "My mother is delusional. Shego and I have a professional relationship. That is all."
Ed shrugged. "Well I don't know how you work with that every day without getting her in your bed at night."
Drakken rolled his eyes. "Because she's a person and not an object, Ed."
Ed laughed. "Right. I thought you were evil? Where's the 'if I want it, I'm going to take it' attitude?" Drakken's mouth fell open. He was not suggesting that he should force himself on her, was he? Did Eddie do that to women? Suddenly, Drakken felt very ill, but Ed spoke again, taking Drakken out of his thoughts. "So if you're not into her, then I can go after her, right? Because man, she is smoking. Seriously."
Before Drakken knew what he was doing, he shoved Eddie with both hands, making him stumble until his back hit the car. "If you so much as lay a finger on her, we are going to have some serious problems."
Eddie smirked. "Oh, so you are into her?"
Drakken crossed his arms. "Nygh! You're going to end up dead, and how am I going to explain that to your mother?" Drakken gasped. "Or worse! My mother?"
"Relax, cuz. Seriously. I won't touch the green babe." Drakken let out a sigh of relief. "Maybe," Ed said again, causing Drakken to ball his fists up and groan.
…
Later that night, Drakken tossed and turned in his bed. Shego had returned earlier that evening and headed straight for her bedroom before cousin Eddie could say anything to her, and each time he closed his eyes to sleep, all he could picture was Eddie on top of her. " Where's the if I want it, I'm going to take it attitude?" He had said that. Had he meant what he thought he meant? Probably not, but Drakken couldn't close his eyes without that horrible sight in his mind.
He ran his hand down his face. He was being ridiculous. Even if Eddie had tried to hurt Shego, she could very much handle herself. She could protect herself better than he could ever protect her, but the nagging feeling wouldn't go away. "Nygh! That's it!" He said to himself as he pushed the covers off and got out of bed.
He found himself in front of her room. He really didn't know what he was doing here, but he couldn't help himself from slowly opening the door. Shego was sound asleep when she heard the creek of her door.. Her hands ignited, and she turned to see Drakken looking bug eyed at getting caught sneaking into her room. "Doc, what on earth are you doing?"
He smiled nervously. "I was uh- I was just- umm checking on you."
Shego sat up and frowned at him. "Okay. Why?"
Drakken scratched his head. "Well, umm. God, I'm sorry. I was just-" The words wouldn't formulate, and he took a step back in fear.
Shego threw her covers off of her and got up to turn on the light. He wasn't wearing a shirt, and she found herself looking at his chest but quickly brought her eyes back to his face. She crossed her arms. "Words, Dr. D. Use your words. What is going on?"
He took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. "Eddie said something that made me fear for your safety," he whispered, tearing his eyes away from hers. "I just wanted to make sure you were alright."
She tilted her head to the right slightly. "Uh huh. And what exactly did he say?"
He looked up at her again but quickly moved his eyes elsewhere. "Well uh, nothing really. I'm sure I took it out of context. Goodnight, Shego." Before he could leave, Shego grabbed his arm, pulling him back toward her. She didn't say anything. She didn't have to. That look in her eyes that said 'Hey, I'm here and I'm listening' made him react before he thought about what it was he was doing. He placed a hand on her cheek, rubbing his thumb against her cheekbone. "You know I would never hurt you, right?"
Shego didn't know why he was touching her, but she let it slide because he looked so serious that it terrified her. Instead, she leaned into his touch slightly. "Yeah, I know. You'd be seriously injured if you tried."
He smiled weakly. "But even if you weren't a superwoman that could kick my ass, I'd still never hurt you."
She sighed. "I know that, Doc. Will you please tell me what is going on?"
He let his hand drop from her cheek, but he suddenly wished he was touching her again. Standing in her bedroom suddenly felt so silly. Of course Eddie wasn't actually going to attempt to hurt her. He had seen what she is capable of since he had been here; he would be stupid to try. But now he was in her room, and he had to explain himself to her. "Eddie may have suggested that villains should have a 'if I want it, I'm going to take it' mentality."
She nodded. "That makes sense."
Drakken looked down at his feet. "Not when the topic of discussion was you," he barely whispered, but he knew she heard him because she took a step back.
"I'm sorry, what?" Shego's hands ignited on pure instinct, and the frown on her face was so clear that Drakken took a few steps away from her.
He looked around the room nervously. "I was just telling him to chill it with the comments he directed toward you, and-"
"I didn't need your help," she growled. The anger in her eyes made it very clear to Drakken that telling her this had been a mistake, but he couldn't turn back now.
Drakken let out a nervous laugh. "I- I know that, but I was just-"
He was interrupted by Eddie, who walked past Shego's opened door and stopped to stare at them. "Woah. What kind of a fight is this? Seriously."
"ARGH!" Shego turned her anger toward him as she shot plasma blast after plasma blast. "Get the hell out of my lair!" Shego chased him out of the room and toward the back entrance of the lair as she violently attacked Motor Ed- not stopping throwing blasts even after he had been shot and was on the ground.
"Shego!" Drakken ran up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "Please." His pleading was a whisper, but it got the fire in her hands to withdraw.
She knelt down to Ed, who was grunting in pain on the ground. "I'm evil, Eddie, so if I want something, I'm going to take it." She threw his own words back in his face as she smirked. "And what I want is for you to leave. If I have to kill you to get that, then so be it, but since you are related to Dr. D, I'm going to give you a warning. Be out of this lair by sunrise, or I will be making a special call to your aunt Debbie while we make your funeral arrangements. Do I make myself clear?" He nodded as the fear in his eyes grew. "Good."
Shego stormed off toward her room, leaving Drakken and Ed alone once again. "What is her problem, man? Seriously."
Drakken shrugged. "I don't know, but I would take that threat seriously. Go home, Eddie."
As Eddie got up and brushed himself off, he smirked at Drakken. "So I guess the chick wears the pants in this relationship, huh?"
"Argh! Eddie, stop that!"
He chuckled as he headed to pack his things. "Drakken and Shego sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G."
Drakken groaned as he followed him.
