Drakken had seen her escape with Junior. He waited and waited for her to come back for him, but after a few weeks, he'd finally given up hope that she would. How could she do that? How could she escape and not come back? Were they not involved? He mentally kicked himself. He was the one with the emotional attachment. He was the one in love with her- not the other way around. Shego always did Shego's thing. She would do what would benefit her and move on. She's always been that way. Why would he expect her to change just because they slept together? He was in love with a selfish woman who would never love him back. The thought brought tears to his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away before Lucre noticed.

He took a deep breath in and let it out slowly as he took off his shirt. "Woah, how have I never noticed that before?" Drakken heard Lucre say.

"Notice what?"

"Your back. It's got so many scars. Jeez, what happened?"

"Huh?" Drakken turned his head to see his back the best he could, and then he realized what Lucre was talking about. Shego's burns. The marks were usually small, but his back suffered horribly when she was clawing at him when her hands had ignited. "It's, uh, nothing," he said to Lucre, but remembering those marks made him want to cry again. He wanted to be near her, and he was pissed at himself that even after this betrayal, he still missed her.

Lucre raised an eyebrow. "That doesn't look like nothing. Either you got the hell beat out of you, or you were having some freaky sex, man."

Drakken groaned as he fell onto his bed. Were those burns even an accident? Or did she get off on causing him pain? He sighed. He loved someone who didn't even have a heart.

….

Midas had always been a great lover when Shego was in Greece, and today had been the first time she had slept with him in ages (not since she started sleeping with Drakken last year; they hadn't even been in a real relationship, but she somehow managed to stay faithful. If someone could explain that to her, that would be great.) She'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy it, but it wasn't the same. It was almost funny because Midas was far more attractive than Drakken, but sleeping with him knowing that she was in love with Drakken did no good for her mental state. She was already struggling- already self destructive- she didn't need him in her head when she was having sex with someone else.

Nevertheless, he had been there. Each time Midas kissed her, she thought of Drakken's lips on hers. Each time Midas touched her, she thought of how different his touches were compared to Drakken's. When Midas crawled on top of her, she noticed how her hands didn't light up without her knowledge (Hego's words about her powers interacting with the feeling of being high on love did not leave her mind). The truth was, Drakken was nowhere near her, but he was all around her at the same time. This was supposed to be a vacation away from him, but her brain must have forgotten that little factoid.

So when Kim Possible came to her demanding to have Drakken handed to her so that she could put him back behind bars, she was shocked. Somebody broke him out, (somebody that wasn't her- he was going to be livid), and she suddenly felt her chest tighten. Who was green that would find him useful enough to break him out of prison?

She pulled away from Midas and turned so that her back was to him. "Is everything alright?" he asked as she started getting dressed and began packing her things.

She scratched her head, flipping her hair behind her shoulder. "Yeah. I just- it's time for me to go home." Home to the lair. Home to Drakken.

….

"Get out of my way, Shego," Drakken said, fuming at her. She was blocking him from the entrance after she had followed him to his new lair. (Warmonga destroyed their previous one, and she even took her newly built one with her when she left). Okay, so she not only fought Warmonga herself, but she saved Kimmie, and helped the Possible team get rid of her. So what? It's not like she was jealous of that stupid alien or anything. She was just- okay, she was jealous, but only because she did everything Drakken said and called him The Great Blue. Drakken was hers. Warmonga couldn't just waltz into their lives and bow down to him. That's not how this worked.

"Come on, Doc. Look, I'm sorry, okay?"

"You're sorry?!" He shouted at her. "Do you have any idea what kind of damage you have caused?" Shego opened her mouth and then closed it again. Damage she caused? Did he have any idea the damage he had caused? She was the one that would get physically sick at the thought of how much she cared for him. All that had happened to him was he lost. He should be used to that feeling. Before she could figure out what she wanted to say, he was yelling at her again. "Not only did you leave me in prison while you've been out roaming free for weeks, but you took my victory away! Kim Possible would be dead right now if you hadn't interfered, and I would be taking over the world!"

Well, she could see that an apology was not going to get her anywhere, so she went for a classic. Shego gave him a smile and batted her eyelashes as she trailed her fingers up and his arm. "Well, why don't I make it up to you then?" she said, seductively. She moved closer to him, ready to kiss his neck when he gripped her arm and pulled her away from him.

She frowned, and his words only made it worse. "No. You don't get to do that. You don't get to use your charm to get out of this. You don't get to use me."

"Use you? You think I'm using you?"

Drakken gritted his teeth. "You helped Kim win today. Did you ever actually leave heroism, or were you using me as an insight to the world of evil to make you a better hero?"

Shego gasped as her hands ignited in anger. He did not just go there. "Are you fucking serious right now?" He just shrugged as he tried to move past her, but she stepped to the right the second he did. "You know what, Doc, I only helped Kimmie because you replaced me with some freaky, 9 foot tall, alien, who you said was better than me."

He ran a hand across his face. "So now I have to suffer because you can't handle being jealous? She was better than you, Shego! I would have taken over the world with her."

Tears threatened to come to the surface, but Shego held them in as her plasma withdrew back into her palms. "What happened to us taking over the world, Doc?" she whispered.

Drakken wanted to crack. He wanted to hold her, but all he had to do was remember what she did, and his anger returned. "I guess you should have thought about that before you left me to rot in a prison cell." She tried to speak, but nothing came out. "Just go, Shego. Go do whatever it was you were doing that was so much more important than me."

Shego's face fell. In three years of working with Drakken, he'd never once asked her to leave. She had left on her own a few times, but she always came back. This time, Drakken was the one who wanted her gone, and her chest tightened at the thought. "Drakken, please. I'm sorry."

Shego's use of the word please did something to Drakken. His face softened for a moment, but it hardened back up rather quickly when he thought about her lack of empathy. She reached for him again, and he shoved her, causing her back to hit the door. Her eyes grew wide. He had never been violent with her. Not one single time in three years. "I want you to leave."

She couldn't hold back her tears any longer as a few trickled down her face. Did he really not want her here? After everything they had been through, this was it? "Drakken-"

"Go," he whispered, but his voice came out raw. He was in pain. Doing this was one of the hardest things he ever had to do, but she had betrayed him. She had broken his trust. She had used her charm and her good looks to make him love her just so that she could rip his heart out and stomp on it.

She shoved past him, leaving him there to question his own choices.

….

She had nowhere to go. She supposed she could go back to Go City, but thinking of having to talk to her brothers gave her a headache, and she definitely did not want to see Hego. (He was responsible for this mess; if she hadn't listened to him, none of this would have happened). She found herself staying at a hotel for the past few weeks, always finding her way to the bar, and definitely not sober.

She was slamming shot after shot, trying to drown all of her emotions. Betrayal. Brokenness. Love. Fear. She hated herself for feeling anything for him at all, but as she drank, those feelings began to disappear. She was so drunk that she could barely stand when someone came up to help her. "Jeez, Shego, are you alright?" She should recognize him. She knows him, but her thoughts were so jumbled that she couldn't place the figure in front of her.

She couldn't formulate a coherent thought, let alone a full sentence. She couldn't even say who was in front of her, so she just rested her elbow on the bar and let her face fall into her hand. Before she knew it, the figure was dragging her out of the bar and to his car. She had no idea where she was going or who she was with, but she didn't care. The only thing that mattered was that she wasn't thinking of Drakken.

Drakken had been moping around the lair for weeks since she left. He couldn't sleep. He couldn't work. He couldn't eat. It was like all of his motivation and will to live left with her. He sat in his lab chair, trying to come up with something, but all he could do was think about her. Maybe he had been a little harsh; she did seem genuinely upset when he had asked her to leave, but everytime he started to feel bad, he thought of what she had done to him. He could have been out of prison months ago if she had bothered to free him. He could be the ruler of the world right now if she hadn't helped that stupid, all-that, teen. He would have been ruler with Warmonga, and the thought sent shivers up and down his spine. Warmonga would have been an amazing asset to have when ruling the world, but she wasn't Shego. It was true that Warmonga would have been a better fighter and protector, but Shego slithered her way into his life in a way that he had never expected her to. At this point, he wasn't even sure if he wanted to rule the world if Shego wasn't there by his side to tease and mock him. His own thoughts pissed him off. It didn't matter. She was gone, and he needed to move on.

A knock on the door took him out of his head, and he turned to see Hank. "Dr. Drakken, it has been nice that you are out of prison, but uh, we were all just wondering if you have a plan here soon? We're getting kind of bored." Drakken just stared at him, blinking every so often, but it made Hank incredibly uncomfortable. "Also, where's Shego?"

"Nygh!" Drakken slammed his hands down on his desk. "Shego is no longer employed with us."

Hank looked around, nervously. "Oh, uh, why? I thought you and her were-"

"We weren't. She made her choices, so let's just move on, alright Hank?"

Hank nodded as he sat down in the chair next to Drakken's, which would normally be occupied by Shego. "Ummm, okay. I just-" he paused for a second before continuing. "Shego was kind of essential to defeating Kim, wasn't she?"

Drakken gritted his teeth. "And she somehow never did, now did she? Hank, we are moving on from her. Accept it."

Hank raised an eyebrow. "Have you accepted it?"

Drakken just stared at him, and then he started to cry. "God, no. What have I done?" He put his hands over his face, covering his tears from Hank.

Hank's mouth fell open. "Jeez. Sorry, Dr. Drakken. I didn't mean to make you- uh well, I-" Hank stumbled trying to come up with the right words. "You know what would cheer you up? Karaoke night."

Drakken waved him off. "I don't want to go out."

Hank pulled at his arm. "Come on, Dr. Drakken. No one can sing Taylor Swift like you can."

Drakken smiled slightly. "Well you're not wrong there."

Shego groaned as her body slowly woke up. She thought she was back at her hotel, but when she opened her eyes, she knew she was in a lair. She recognized this lair. She'd been here a few times, but how she got here, she had no idea. She groaned again when she heard a knock at the door. When she didn't answer, Junior opened the door slowly with a glass of milk in his hand. "Here. This will help with the hangover."

She sat up in bed. "Junior, what happened?"

He shrugged as she took the glass from him. "I ran into you at the bar, and you could hardly speak, so I took you home. You had no business being out in public that wasted. You were bound to get in trouble if I hadn't found you first."

She chugged her milk. "Thanks," she whispered as she wiped her mouth.

"The question, my dear friend, is why were you so wasted on a Monday night? Everyone knows that level of drunk is reserved for Fridays and Saturdays."

She rubbed her temple as he spoke. "I have a headache."

He snorted as he sat down on the bed next to her. "Yeah, I would imagine so, but you aren't getting out of this. Spill."

She looked down at her hands for a minute, contemplating on whether or not she should spill her guts. One on hand, it would be nice to get it off her chest, to let someone else in on her little secret. On the other hand, she didn't want to admit to having a weakness. But this was Junior. He was practically harmless, and they were friends. He had no ill intentions of hurting her. "Well, uh, it all started with this stupid moodulator device."

And so she spilled. She told him about the modulator device and how it made her act like a lunatic. She told him how it got set to the love emotion and she ended up pining over Drakken, and even after the device was off of her, she couldn't stop thinking about what he had felt like when they had kissed, so she kissed him again, and that ended in the best sex of her life. She told him how they tried to forget about it, but then they would fight, and it would turn into something more every time. She told him about the loss of control with her powers when they were in bed together. She told him how she convinced herself that it was just sex- that it didn't matter, but then she ended up in prison, and her brother came to visit her, and he had told her that her powers interacted with specific emotions. She told him that she was madly in love with Drakken, and it took her brother and a prison cell to make her see it.

Junior stayed silent for a moment before finally speaking. "Wow. That's- wow."

She rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks, Junior."

"No, I mean, uh wow." He laughed nervously. "Give me a minute to process." She rolled her eyes again, but she otherwise didn't acknowledge his words. "You should tell him," Junior finally said after a minute of silence.

"Are you crazy? Absolutely not!"

Junior crossed her arms. "Well, why not?"

"Because I-" she stopped. What was she supposed to say? She was a coward who didn't want to embrace any sort of emotion because that came with a risk? Yeah, she had shared enough without suggesting that.

Junior sighed. "Look, sometimes loving someone means taking the risk that they might swoop in and fuck up your plans." She frowned. It was like he was reading her thoughts, and she wanted to cower away from any more talk of her own feelings. "But, it's usually always worth it."

She sank back into the bed. "I don't want to talk about this anymore."

"Didn't he get out of prison? Why are you still avoiding him? Just go tell him."

"He fired me," she mumbled under her breath, but he caught her words.

"Oh?" Junior scratched his head, trying to come up with something that would help her. "You know what makes me feel better? Karaoke! Let's go tonight!"

She groaned. Not him too. "Absolutely not."

"But Shego, my sweet moves will make you laugh."

She crossed her arms. "No."

"For every bad song I choose, I'll let you blast me."

She chuckled. "Alright. Fine."

…..

Junior was actually pretty good on the stage. She took a drink of her water (because she had to cut off alcohol) as she watched him. He was singing some song from Britina, and he was for sure giving it his all. Once he finished his song, he joined her back at the table. "Those dance moves were pure comedy gold," she laughed.

He grinned. "Are you going to go next?"

Her laughter stopped abruptly, and her face hardened. At one point, Drakken had suggested that. He had heard her sing in the shower, and he said she was good and needed to go up there. Her insides twisted at the thought of that night. That night some random person flirted with her, but she shut it down because of Drakken. How had she not noticed her feelings then? She did. She noticed them a long time ago, but she just folded them neatly in a corner in the back of her mind and never bothered to revisit them. She felt the need to throw up arise in her stomach, and it was like the universe was mocking her when she saw Drakken walk up on the stage.

"Yo, yo, I'm Dr. Drakken and I'm going to be singing a-" he stopped when he saw her in the crowd. Junior moved his eyes between Drakken and Shego, just as shocked as she was that he was here. "Excuse me," Drakken said as he put the mic back down and walked off the stage.

Simultaneously, Shego stood up, trying to exit the building with Junior right behind her. They ran right into Drakken and Hank, who had the same thoughts of trying to leave. As all four of them got out of the building, Hank grinned as he shoved Drakken toward Shego and Junior. "Hank!" Drakken called out as he tried to balance himself.

Junior followed suit, shoving Shego toward Drakken so hard that their bodies collided. "Sorry, Shego. I like having you around and all, but man, I can't handle all ten of your personalities for more than a day. Time for you two to make up." Junior and Hank giggled like two teenage girls as they high fived and walked away, leaving Drakken and Shego on their own.

Shego quickly untangled herself from him, but he latched onto her, trying to stop her from falling down. "Drakken, let go," she growled.

He groaned. She was impossible. "Fine." He let go of her, and just as he had anticipated, she fell as she untangled her limbs from his.

"Argh!" She kicked him in his shin, causing him to fall down on the ground next to her.

"Ow! What the hell, Shego?" He looked at her, and her smirk turned into a laugh. Suddenly, she was erupting in laughter, and he couldn't help himself but to join her.

"I'm sorry, Doc," she finally said after their laughs died down.

He nodded. "I. uh, I'm sorry too."

Her eyes lit up. "Can I come home?"

He smiled slightly at her, but the smile dropped just as quickly as it appeared. "How do I know that I can trust you again, Shego?"

Tears welled up in her eyes, but she held them in. She had hurt him, and in this moment, she hated herself. She reached up for his face and cupped his cheek. "I know I'll have to work to regain your trust back," she whispered. "But I will. I want to take over the world with you, Doc. I just want things to go back to how they were."

Drakken sighed. "Do you mean before or after the sex started?"

Shego's face fell as she dropped her hand from his face. She should tell him how she felt, but here he was, sitting on the ground of a karaoke bar and giving her an out. A part of her wanted to tell him, but the other part that wanted to shy away from it was screaming louder at her. She shrugged. "I guess we did kind of complicate things with the sex, didn't we?"

He nodded again, but he looked down at the ground. "Yeah. I guess we did." She ran a hand through her hair, trying to decide what comes next, but he spoke again. "You can come home," he said with a smile. Her eyes lit up again as she watched him stand up, offering his hand to help her up. She took it, and he guided her off the ground. "Friends?" he asked her as she brushed herself off.

She nodded. "Friends." She paused before smiling up at him. "Partners?"

He grinned back. "Partners."
