Drakken was whistling to himself as he spread mayonnaise on his sandwich. He just needed one final ingredient: pickles. He twisted and twisted the lid on the jar with no use of getting it off. "Nygh! Shego! Can you open this for me?" he shouted, but he was met with silence. "Shego?" Where the hell was she? She said something about going to get a coconut scrub at the spa, but that was hours ago. Surely, she was home by now. "Shego?" After a moment of silence, he shrugged to himself. Who was he to know how long a coconut scrub lasted? He tapped the lid on the table and tried again. "Agrh! Alright, you won this round, pickle jar, but you haven't seen the wrath of Dr. Drakken."
….
Shego sat at a cafe table with Kim and Ron, who had helped her escape her brothers. "So Electronique used Jack Hench's attitudinator to turn all of team Go into her evil henchmen?" Ron asked as he took a sip of his chocolate milk.
Shego nodded. "Yeah, but she's been locked up for a long time, so she didn't know that I switched sides."
Kim ran a hand through her hair. "So when she used the attitudinator, her plan worked for your brothers, but it turned you good again?"
Shego nodded once again." I tried to tell her, but have you met Electronique? That girl doesn't listen to anything!" Shego took a drink and started giggling. "Mmmmmm, this is good coco moo!"
Kim and Ron both raised an eyebrow. "Coca moo?" Kim asked.
Shego diverted her eyes away from Kim and to her lap. "Oh," she pouted. "That's what Drakken calls it. I didn't-" She paused. She didn't mean to say it. She usually made fun of him for it, but she didn't have the ability to be mean or evil right now. Shego couldn't help the tears from welling up in her eyes. "I miss him," she cried.
Kim and Ron glanced at each other, clearly confused. Kim scratched her head. "Well, uh, we could take you back to his lair. I know you're not evil anymore, but if you, uh, want to see him-" Kim didn't know what the status of Drakken and Shego's relationship was (did she want to know?), but seeing Shego cry over not being near him was unsettling. This whole sitch was unsettling.
Shego shook her head as she placed her head in her hands. "I left to protect him. My brothers are dangerous right now, and I didn't want him in the mix. I thought if I left, they wouldn't know where to look, but now that I know they found me-" she cried louder. "I don't know what I'm gonna do!"
Ron scooted his chair back slightly at the sight of seeing Shego cry. "KP! She's giving you-"
"Not the puppy dog pout!" Kim finished for him. "Argh! Alright. You can stay with me."
"Yay!" Shego hugged her. Thank you, Kimmie! You're the best!" Kim sunk a little in her chair. This was weird.
…
Shego and Kim had bonded since she started staying at her house a few nights ago. Shego sat on Kim's bed as they gossiped about Ron, Bonnie, and the cheer team. The latest topic of discussion was Steve Barkin's clear interest in Shego. "I mean, it's weird, but you should totally go out with him if that's what you want to do," Kim said as they were both flipping through a magazine.
Shego sighed. The personality switch did not make her forget her unwanted and definitely unresolved feelings for a certain blue villain. She smiled at Kim. "Yeah. Maybe."
Kim frowned. "What's the matter?"
Shego didn't know what to say. She didn't have any reason not to go out with Stevie other than that one tinnie tiny detail, but why was she even holding on to that? "I uh, I kind of have something with someone else."
Kim raised an eyebrow. "You do?"
"Well, no, not really. But yes." Shego sighed. "It's complicated, but I guess it doesn't matter. I can't go back to him. He's evil!"
Kim gasped. "Oh, don't tell me that you and Drakken are a thing?"
"No, I don't. I mean- no. No. There's nothing going on with me and Dr. D."
Kim raised an eyebrow. "Oh come on. I told you all sorts of embarrassing things about Ron. Your turn to spill."
Shego shook her head. "You're so silly!" Kim gave her the pouty dog face, and she cracked. "Oh, alright, but you only get a little bit!"
Kim smiled. "I'll take it."
Shego smiled back at her. "Drakken and I are not a thing, but we uh, we aren't exactly, not a thing either."
Kim tilted her head slightly. "What do you mean?"
Shego giggled. "Well, we may have been… uh, physical."
Kim gasped and covered her ears. "Nevermind. You were right. I don't want to know." Kim let her hands come back down from her ears when Shego started to cry. "Shego?"
"I- we stopped because- well I don't know. I love him, but I was always so afraid to say it aloud, but now that I am saying it, I don't know why I was so afraid to tell him." Kim bit her lip. The personality switch from the attitudinator might have a little something to do with that. Before Kim could respond, Shego shrugged. "It doesn't matter. He's the past. Stevie could be my future. Let's talk about that!"
Kim sighed in relief. She never thought she'd be so happy to talk about Mr. Barkin's love life.
…
Drakken paced back and forth in the lair. He had called her. He had left her 100 messages. Where the hell was she? It had been days, and she hadn't returned home. It wasn't unusual for her to leave occasionally he supposed, but there was nothing to make her do so. They hadn't had a fight. He hadn't been distracted from evil lately (okay, his main focus had been opening that pickle jar, and by golly he was going to do it, but once it was open, he'd go back to plotting evil schemes). There was nothing that happened that would make her leave. He sighed to himself as he collapsed onto the couch and turned on the TV. Maybe she just got sick of him. But a few months back, she was the one begging to come home. She wouldn't just leave. Not without something triggering her.
His anxiety made his stomach hurt. Did something happen to her? Is she alright? Suddenly, the news caught his eye. All of Shego's brothers, all former members of Team Go, all of them still good, destroying Go City in an evil frenzy. What the hell was going on? He stared at the TV, hoping to catch sight of Shego, but she wasn't there. What were her brothers doing? The news lady talked about the former Team Go members now being their enemies, but then switched to another topic of the news. "In other news, this device was stolen from Jack Hench Co." When the picture of the device came up on screen, Drakken's eyes grew wide. The attitudinator. Holy shit. If someone targeted Team Go members to turn them evil, that would have worked for all of them except one. Shego. She would have turned good again. He quickly stood up. It was time to make a trip to Go City.
….
Ron pouted in the back of the car on the way to Go Tower. Kim, his girlfriend, the love of his life, put him in the back seat so that Shego could sit up front. The level of closeness they had achieved this week was just sick and wrong. They were up there giggling about something girly while he was stuck in the back. The giggling stopped when Shego asked a serious question. "After we help my brothers, will I turn evil again?"
Kim took one hand off the steering wheel to pat Shego's shoulder. "Well, I mean, if you don't want to, we don't have to turn you back."
Ron crossed his arms. "Is it ethical to keep someone good against their will?"
Kim shot him a glare. "It's not against her will if she wants to stay good, Ron."
He shrugged. "No, but it is if she doesn't know it's against her will because the attitudinator switched her personality."
Kim frowned. He was right. She knew he was right, but he was only saying it because he wanted to get rid of her. Was she being selfish in wanting to keep good Shego around? "Well, we can discuss that when we get all of your brothers back, okay?"
Shego nodded but then frowned. "I want to stay good, but Drakken. I should probably talk to him."
Kim raised an eyebrow. "About your feelings?"
"Well I-" Shego started but Ron interrupted her.
"Feelings? What feelings?"
Kim glared at him again. "Shego has feelings for Drakken, Ron. Keep up."
"What? Oh, I so don't need to be hearing this right now." Rufus covered his ears while Ron stuck his tongue out in disgust.
Shego smiled. "Oh Ronald, you're so silly! Don't worry, sweetie. There's not much for you to hear as there isn't much to tell."
Kim grinned. "Other than the fact that you used to sleep with him?"
"Oh gross!" Ron put his face in his hands, and Rufus nearly fainted.
Shego blushed. "He's a cutie, isn't he?"
Kim faked a laugh as Ron stuck his tongue out in disgust once again. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but please go back to mooning over Mr. Barkin."
Shego giggled. "Oh, Stevie! He is such a sweetie! I could look into his sparkly eyes all day!"
Ron sunk back in his seat. This wasn't any better.
…..
Ron hadn't meant to do it, but once they had defeated Electronique, Ron had the attitudinator, and he accidentally hit Shego with it, turning her evil once again. Shego's eyes turned incredibly angry as she growled and ignited her hands. Ron backed away slowly, but they were saved by Drakken, who flew over Go Tower with the hovercar. "Shego! I need you!"
Shego's face softened as she heard him, and she let the fire in her hands die. He found her. She smiled slightly. "Well, he needs me."
She reached for the ladder but not before Kim smirked. "Yeah, and you definitely need him."
The anger returned to Shego's face as she blasted Kim. "None of what I said was me, princess."
Kim's grin widened. "If that's the case, why are you so mad about it?"
Shego blasted her again, which she dodged, but Shego kept them coming until his voice once again pulled her out of her anger. "Shego! I really do need you! Let's go!"
She threw one more plasma blast before climbing the ladder and crawling into the hovercar. "You're a horrible driver," she mumbled as she turned to see the pole he had hit.
He grinned. "And you're not nice, which means, you're not good anymore."
She rubbed her temple. "Worst week of my life."
He chuckled. "Well, I have a new project for you. It's called, uh, Operation Gherkin." He sighed. She was going to lose it when she found out what operation Gherkin was, but at least she was home, and she was safe.
