Swift Justice Delivered
"Keep this safe, Miss Atwood, a treasure like this should not fall into the wrong hands." Dumbledore said firmly but kindly.
"Thank you, Professor," Lisa said. "I promise you that I will keep my diary safe!"
Rafael checked his pocketwatch, "Oh my gosh! Lisa! We have to go to Charms class!"
"Maybe Professor Flitwick has a good locking charm for me to use on my diary." Lisa said.
Lisa, Rafael, Stevie, Carole, Phil, Liam, and a handful of other Gryffindor students followed some Ravenclaw students all the way to the Charms classroom.
Over in Snape's office, Snape was standing behind his desk glaring down and the two Slytherin troublemakers.
Malfoy and Pansy looked very nervous as Snape's expression got even angrier if that were possible.
"This is certainly a day I will never forget," he finally said in a voice that was low, and calm as well as angry and terrifying all at the same time. "it was the first time since I came here that I ended up in the headmaster's office getting chewed out because two of my Slytherins thought it would be good idea to sneak into another house and steal another student's diary!"
"Since when do you care about Gryffindor house?" Malfoy snorted.
"Yeah, It was just a bit of harmless fun!" Pansy said.
"Harmless," Snape cried. "you call making Dumbledore and McGonagall mad and costing Slytherin house one hundred points harmless?"
"One hundred points," Malfoy exclaimed. "we were just having some fun!"
"I don't want to hear anymore excuses," Snape growled. "now, you're both getting detention here every night for the entire week!"
"What?" Pansy and Malfoy cried.
"And, you will both spend the week writing three thousand five hundred times 'I will not steal other students' diaries'!"
"But that's not fair!" Malfoy protested.
"Enough, you two were closer than you know to being expelled for that stupid stunt, so I don't want to here anymore back talk," Snape snapped. "now, get to work!"
Snape pointed through the opened door to the desks in the potions classroom.
Over in the Charms classroom, Professor Flitwick could see that Rafael was about to fall out of his chair right onto the floor.
"Easy, Rafael." Phil said.
"Is there anything the matter, Mister Moondance?" Professor Flitwick inquired.
Rafael just rubbed his eyes to get the blurries out and shook his head.
"No, sir," Rafael said. "I'm just a little tired, I didn't sleep very well last night!"
"Something wrong with the bedrooms?" Professor Flitwick asked curiously.
"No I just haven't been sleeping much the last few nights since Lisa's diary was stolen." Rafael replied, yawning.
"Rafa," Lisa said surprised, "you don't mean you've been standing guard do you?"
Rafael nodded blushing a little.
"Now that Miss Atwood's diary has been returned," Professor Flitwick said gently. "I doubt Professor Snape will let such a thing happen again, so try and get some sleep tonight."
"Good idea," Rafael yawned wearily. "thank you, Professor."
