Monarch File - Two, Zero, Eight, Nine

Date: April 5th, 2022

Location: 10 miles East of San Francisco Bay aboard the giant flying wing, 'USS Gotengo'.

My name is Erma Samoa, former Navy Pilot of the United States aircraft carrier 'USS Enterprise' CVN-80.

Now, I am a pilot of a giant flying wing… yeah, quite the transition.

It takes some nerves of steel to fly this bird. Good thing I was one of the top cadets to fly this thing.

'USS Gotengo' is the second of the Argo Class giant flying wings. 'USS Argo' herself is currently stationed at HQ for a refit long overdue. Not sure what new toys she's going to be getting, but hopefully it'll be something 'Gotengo' will get when her refit time comes.

Anyway, 'Gotengo's current mission is to monitor and get data on the Titan, MUTO Prime.

You see, after the battle against the Titan, King Ghidorah, most Titans went their separate ways across the globe. With MUTO Prime coming here to the ruins of San Francisco that got destroyed back in 2014.

We're… not fully sure why she came here, but flying in there is a major OFF-LIMITS for any airborne craft. Helicopters, planes, jets, flying wings, anything manmade can't fly near there. And the answer 'why' is simple.

E.M.P. Electromagnetic Pulse. MUTO Prime's primary ability.

Anything that is powered by electricity within a 7 mile radius of her will lose power immediately.

So anything man made, tanks, planes, cars, whatever, cannot get close to her.

But thankfully, we have gotten a little creative on getting into San Francisco Bay. The answer was so simple, that some people honest to god laughed at it.

Using either wind powered sailboats or steam powered vessels to get in close by water.

While this is a little laughable, it does make sense when you think about it.

And thanks to these approaches, we manage to get some very valuable and interesting data from the former great city.

You see, when Godzilla and other two smaller MUTOs had their little fight, most of the city was rendered a toxic area due to radiation, or so we thought.

To our surprise, however, when MUTO Prime arrived, she managed to absorb all the radiation somehow. Something about absorbing it into her skin or something? I don't know, way beyond my paygrade. The eggheads know more.

But thanks to her getting rid of the radiation, humans have managed to get within the area for research about our large guest, memorial purposes for those who didn't make it out of the city… and, most importantly, resources.

San Francisco is a major supply hub once again, only this time, we gather resources from ruined buildings, pick off what we need and leave before our large acquaintance gets upset by our presence.

As for Prime herself, we did catch some interesting data and behaviors from her.

For example, when she happened upon the remains of the other two MUTOs that were killed by Godzilla, she was… abnormally quiet. Like when elephants get quiet when they happen upon remains of other dead elephants…

It's sad in a way. Because it makes you realize that, despite the size difference, Titans also grieve for their fallen.

And some say that they have deeper emotions than even we could comprehend.

Sorry, this got a little dark. My report is done.

This has been Erma Samoa, pilot of the 'USS Gotengo', signing off.
