"I actually can't believe how smart you can be when you don't get bored."
Law's calm yet with a hint of surprise in his voice interrupted the silence as he leaned back on his chair, having finished reading Luffy's part of their research on the greatest enemy of every pay-to-watch and/or read platform of the internet: piracy and the right to be informed. He had known the boy for enough time already to know that working with him could be a real challenge, so he was genuinely surprised at the results they were getting since they started studying together for their few shared classes.
They initially had no choice but work together, since at the start of the semester the professor chose the study couples to present future projects, but they ended up clicking with each other just fine and were one of the lucky couples of students who didn't have to change partner or completely give up on that class. Also, he did hear a rumor that Professor Corazon, Shanks and some others made a bet on how long they would be able to put up with each other, since Luffy and him seemly looked complete opposites with how they act.
To his own and his friends' surprise he did end up getting along pretty well with the ball of energy that was Luffy even if they did bicker a lot, and the fact that their little study group was probably making his kind-of-acquired Uncle Corazon and more teachers lose money amused him to no end. They even started occasionally hanging out together out of school, getting to know each other's' group of friends.
He got to know Nami, an orange haired girl that was one of Luffy's friends, that confessed she – somehow – participated in the bet and told him she was sure they would have become friends, because 'That's just how Luffy is. If he thinks you're a good person he will stick around, and he's pretty good at immediately knowing people's true colors.' Law, on his part, wasn't really sure Nami was a good person, but his survival instincts took over just in time to witness said girl punching a blonde and a green haired boy to make them stop fighting. Also, it was entertaining to watch Luffy, and his friends interact and play around like a bunch of children – the boy was actually really easy to jump scare, and it was just a way to start a war of tug or something else.
So that's how this scene became a familiar milestone to Law's life before he even realized it. Luffy always on the floor of his room, because he said it helped him concentrate and wouldn't disturb him if he moved too much, and himself on the desk or occasionally onto is bed, each of them studying or minding their own business waiting for the other to finish whatever was doing so that they could start repeating together or putting up a project. Eventually even his family got to know him since he passed so much time at their place anyway and holydays just come around. Lammy just straight up adored him, and the fact that Luffy is good with children was yet another surprise.
"It's not my fault most of the subjects they make us study are lame." The other boy spoke up interrupting his line of thoughts. Law turned around upon realizing the late response of the other, only to see Luffy chewing on his pencil laying with his stomach down on the floor and distractingly skimming to his history's notes and moving one leg up and down at a slow pace. Usually he didn't give him that much time before getting an answer, and Law didn't even notice as he let his thoughts run free.
Was he that concentrated? Mr. Clover was one of the few teachers that actually managed to keep him awake during classes just using his words, and with this last lesson he totally managed to pick up Luffy's interest, but still something felt off about his posture and from the way he seems to react really slowly compared to the usual.
"It's because you have the attention span of a hamster." Law added without skipping a beat, still observing him.
He waited for a 'rude!', a tongue childishly sticking out, a paper ball or something else to hit him and start their usual quick banter, but there was nothing, instead the other boy just turned another page around. Luffy was definitely acting quieter and weirder than usual. Normally he would be always up to a rant. No reaction to even assure that he did hear the comment and just choose to ignore it, even though that usually made them bicker jokingly 'like an old married couple', as Penguin once said.
Now that he thinks about it, since they started studying today Luffy made no attempt to ask for a pause or annoy him in any way, sure they lost some time when he just arrived to drink a tea and have a snack and he already looked somewhat out of it, but still, at that moment he thought that having a quieter and calm Luffy for a study session was going to be a good thing, but it's plain out weird and he almost wants to try and piss him off just to have a reaction.
Law kept staring at him feeling a scowl make its way on his features still waiting for any sort of reaction. Another handful of seconds passed before the other boy noticed him looking and raised his head, lazily playing with his pencil and resting his head on his elbow.
"…What?" Luffy asked somewhat defensively noticing the other's apparently out of context pissed off look.
"You're kind of slow today." Law easily stated, resting his cheek on one hand and trying to look less angry as he took in the other's tone. It did tick him off for some reason.
Even the way Luffy let out a small 'oh' from his mouth looked slowed down. Law couldn't help but notice his bad habit of showing worry through a pissed off or angry look and behavior – or straight up replacing worry with anger – and of course his friends knew that and were kind of fond of it, but him and Luffy just started considering each other's friend something like three weeks ago and get on first name basis – even if Luffy still used the nickname he gave him – and still barely knew anything at all about the other's life in general.
This was the first time he saw the energetic boy acting so worn out and felt a wave of protectiveness and curiosity. For some reason he couldn't stand seeing him this way. There were countless other days they had full of activities from school or other things, thinking about it, it's not like they did something that tiring at school – or at least on his own part. Was he getting a fever? That's gotta be it. At least a headache or something. He totally pictured him, selfless as he is, not telling a thing about it and just continuing his day.
Luffy looked down at his notes again. "I'm just…" He started but his voice quickly failed him. The boy looked totally out of it, but at least now he responded more easily since he got his full attention.
"Feeling sick?" Law turned his body on the chair so that he could totally face him, trying to guess what the boy wanted to say while carefully watching him. He doesn't look like having a fever at the moment, his skin color not flushed at all, but maybe it was just starting to get him? It's not a cold either.
Luffy shook his head and replied in a small voice "No..." as he put his head down to hide between his arms on the floor as to hide from the sudden attention, and of course Law wasn't reassured at all by the gesture, instead was even more suspicious by the boy's behavior, as his voiced kept dying down preventing him to answer properly. He waited just a moment to see if Luffy would move, and as he didn't give any signals in doing so Law got up from his chair to crouch down on his knees next to the other.
"Don't even try to lie to me. What's wrong?" Law sat down as comfortably as he could get on the floor and poked the boy's head roughly and the other just whined in response, refusing to look up.
Between his crossed arms Luffy was gritting his teeth and biting down onto his lip as he could feel small tears forming in his eyes, his shoulder starting to subtly shake. He was trying in vain to keep his breathing and tears under control. He hated being seeing like this, and not being able to control it was even worse. It has already been a rough day, but it's not like he wasn't prepared. While memories started unwillingly flowing into his head, giving him a glimpse of what was waiting for him once more when he'll return home, Luffy tried to convince himself that he had gotten used to it by now.
It was kind of true, no matter what happens, it hardly made him crumble like this anymore. He got stronger. Luffy blamed Traffy for getting worried about him in his usual Traffy-like rough yet caring manner and made him feel all weak and fragile. Same thing happened with Zoro and Nami not too long ago, and he was so glad he had his friends there for him, but it was a onetime thing and promised to himself he wouldn't let his friends see him like that anymore. And yet there he was again, silently crying on Traffy's floor.
Law's scowl deepened even more as he took notice of the other boy's shoulders shaking and realized that he had never seen Luffy cry. He was definitely not sick, so his assumption that 'idiots don't catch colds' is still valid until further notice, but something still was up. And he was not prepared to see him breakdown like that.
At some point he almost thought it just wasn't a thing that could happen – for Luffy to cry and look small like that – even if of course he knew wasn't the case, the raven idiot just gave off that kind of vibe. Always happy and cheering, being usually the one to comfort his friends and never needed it. He just assumed that to make the boy cry, breakdown and actually ask for help had to be something really serious and bad.
So when he saw his friend lying on his bedroom's floor, shaking and still holding tightly the pencil in one hand to the point it seemed like it was going to break, he didn't really know how to react. He hardly knows how to comfort his own friends when they needed it and was way to conscious of the fact he tended to look and act too rough and angry even when he really just wants to be kind. Besides, seeing Luffy in this sorry state really pisses him off, but still knew he had to do something, or he would feel like a total asshole if he just waited it out or went away.
That's why without not even thinking about it too much he raised one hand and reached the other's mess of raven black hair that was a head, immediately regretting the sudden touch as Luffy shot up his head to look at him surprised and with fear in his eyes. He was scared.
The boy quickly turned himself around so that he was now giving the other his back, covering his eyes with one hand, the other gripping his head in distress while muttering with a small voice too much close to tears an apology, not minding at all the books and notes under his body.
Law did feel sorry for scaring him, but he just couldn't look at him scared like that and once again he started acting in a way he would surely regret immediately. He made his way around Luffy so that he could face him again and took him by his shoulders forcing him to sit up straight and closed his hands around the poor shaking boy's wrists to remove his hands from over his eyes, all while in the meantime Luffy started whimpering at the sudden touches.
"No, no ple-please…" Law's heart tightens more than he thought was possible, to the point it almost hurt physically as he watched the other boy's painful and scrunched up expression, hardening his jaw.
"Idiot, what are you thinking?!" He snapped at him before he even could stop himself, making the other wince back. Law cringed at the movement and forced his lungs to take a big breath in to calm himself, loosening the grip on the other's wrist and trying to not make it worse for the both of them. He always had no patience for anyone, but knew he absolutely had to work on it giving the situation, so he tried as gently as possible to cup the sides of Luffy's head with both of his hands.
"Luffy-ya." He tried to speak again while lowering his voice and making it as soft as he could manage. "I didn't mean to scare you. Sorry." He admitted easily.
The other didn't respond, keeping his head low as yet more few tears and sniffs escaped him, and even though this still made Law feel on edge, this time he did nothing to push the other to speak and expose more of himself. It was the right thing to do apparently, as Luffy slowly brought his hands up to weakly grip his arms, seeming torn between pushing him away or pulling him in. Law barely missed it as the gears in his mind were quickly turning to process the situation and conclude with a bunch of hypotheses.
Law liked to think himself to be smart and knew he actually is, but as one conclusion ruled itself up, based on the way Luffy responded, he wished his mind was slower than this, because he didn't like at all that explanation. Why sometimes he was so jumpy at sudden touches. He sighed heavily and closed his eyes while feeling his scowl finally relax as mostly worry replace his current emotions and the anger totally deflated, slowly resting his forehead against Luffy's, taking in the silence in his home only slightly interrupted by the poor boy's ragged breaths, but still said nothing.
He quickly reminded himself that Luffy was slowly breaking down in front of him. It just wasn't the time to make assumptions – he would have to ask the other directly at some point later, as difficult it would be for both of them to have the conversation if he was right. Law really hoped he wasn't.
He opened his eyes again and moved back a little to see the other face, but Luffy only lowered further his head giving him just a glimpse of the tears running down his cheeks as he was biting his lip still trying to calm down on his own.
Law slowly tried to move his arms but stopped as Luffy sobbed refusing to lose his already weak grip on his arms. He tried to move again, this time only trying to free one arm and as Luffy let it go while tighten his grip on the other, Law put it on the other's head, gently pushing it towards his shoulder before loosely half-hugging him.
Something must have clicked at that gentle touch, because Luffy suddenly started full on and uncontrollably crying while hiding on his shoulder. Law didn't care at all for the tears mixed with snoot that were getting on his shirt and only tried his best to comfort the sobbing mess he was holding in his arms, hugging him properly when the boy moved his hands to grip desperately on his shirt.
'You idiot'. Law thought as he sighed and looked up, keeping one hand on Luffy's head gently playing with his hair and the other drawing circles on his back that was shaking hard for the sobs he made. 'What happened to you.' He tried to turn his head and raise his shoulder to look at the other's face, but Luffy stayed uncaringly glued to him and Law quickly give it up in order to not stress the boy more than he was already.
Law patiently just let the other vent everything out and kept holding him in silence, rocking him back and forth time to time in what he hoped to be a calming manner, and Luffy's sobs strongly echoed for a good quarter of an hour before eventually starting to quiet down, leaving him slightly sniffing and with some last occasional sobs until he finally calmed down and relaxed.
Trying again, Law raised his shoulder and was about to ask with a soft voice if he was feeling better, trying not so sound judgingly, but took notice of the other's soft and slow breath as he exhausted himself to sleep on his shoulder, his face still wet with tears and red under his eyes.
Law just didn't find in himself the strength to wake him up just yet. As slowly as possible, he tried to untangle himself from the hug, holding the other's head still with one hand while he started getting himself up so that it was easier to pick him up and put him into his bed. He carefully laid Luffy on the blankets, putting down his head on the pillow last and trying to make it more comfortable. Even though the boy still looked fast asleep, he couldn't help but be as careful and gentle as possible, like when he cradled in his arms his newborn little siter for the first time.
He straightens his back sitting next to him, thinking about how just this morning he wouldn't have never believed about finding himself in this situation. As hard it was to admit, he really doesn't know what to do – how to comfort Luffy, help him and understanding. Maybe the boy was extremely stressed and burn out? He just hoped it wasn't anything impossible to fix, because as much as he wished he could, he wasn't going to live on and pretend this didn't happen, you can't just walk away after a friend breaks down in front of you like that. Law sighed and looked away, letting his thoughts dissipate as his eyes fell on the sheets and pens still scattered on the floor. Might as well clean this mess while Luffy rests.
When Luffy woke up, he was finally alone. His head hurt, even if it did feel somewhat lighter, he thought as he brought one hand up to his hair to hold it tightly, grumbling as remembered having a total mental breakdown and crying all over Traffy's shirt, covering his face in shame. He couldn't even spit a word out, as hard as he was crying before. The boy suddenly opened his eyes as he realizing he was lying in a bed, and quickly sat up with his heartbeat going up before realizing he was still at Law's place, his heart instantly starting to slow down its pace taking in the familiar and relaxing surroundings as he laid back down, taking a couple of big breaths in.
It was a couple of days in which he still hadn't the chance to just be alone and relax for a moment – in a way that wasn't sleeping – and that already rarely happened to begin with. Don't get him wrong, he does love to be with his friends, he enjoys studying with Traffy, and most of all he hated being alone. But sometimes what happens back at 'home' becomes too much. And today after school was that awful, so without even thinking about it, as soon as he remembered he was supposed to go to Traffy's house to study he quickly showered himself and got out from there hours before with that excuse. It's not like he would have got to rest if he stayed anyway and was looking forward to showing his work to his study partner.
He underestimated how badly he was hurt and tired. It was stupid of him to think he could keep up his usual smile and optimistic attitude as exhausted as he was and had hoped Traffy didn't make a big deal out of it if he noticed something out of the ordinary. But Luffy felt safe – anywhere but home – in the other boy's room and let himself relax a little too much, letting his usual carefree personality slip out in a way he didn't notice but Law did. Luffy almost, almost regretted not calling off their study session.
He didn't want to burden someone else with his stupid problems. He already cried on Nami's lap with Zoro's arm resting on his back, another time like this that was a really bad day for him and the only time he allowed himself to cry in front of them. They are his closest friends after all, and fondly remembers them fussing over him for days to come especially since he straight up refused to explain the reason why he just suddenly broke down, and they still have a worried eye on for him, being sometimes weirdly kind and caring. Well, not weirdly, it's just that for a long time, he wasn't – and still isn't – used to people caring about him so deeply, and he isn't in that kind of situation that could be resolved easily, if not at all. So he just didn't get the point to make the others worry about him, even if that made his shoulders feel a little lighter. After all he does feel better just after being a total wreck.
There's something in this house at the moment that is making him realize just how much he didn't want to go back home and admit to himself that he was slowly destroying the walls he always had up. He blinked away some small tears that tried again to make their way up as a thought started to form in his mind clearing up everything that happened.
With Zoro, Nami, and now Law… He just felt safe. It's not that his surroundings that made him feel safe, Luffy realized as he blinked away some other small tears threateningly trying to spill out, because if that were the case he would just be good staying away from home, but it's Teach- other people making him feel in danger – in contrast to his close friends making him feel safe in a way he could breakdown and be fragile, only he himself hadn't realized that but his body did, and it relaxed itself to the point of letting out the tension he always had to drag around. It's like his instincts knew who to trust or not before his mind could even process and realize.
Luffy sat up again to be able to look at the clock on Law's desk. 7:12 pm. He slept a long time, and he was totally getting home later than usual. Luffy's eyes sting with tears at the thought. The door softly opened with a click and Luffy rubbed his eyes willingly to push back the tears before he would have to face his friend. "Oh, Luffy-ya. Did I wake you up?" Luffy looked up at Law, who had his phone in hand and was looking back at him with his usual neutral and almost scowling face.
Law raised an eyebrow at the boy who was just staring at him for a few moments before smiling and popping out a soft but almost energetic "Nuh-uh". Luffy was so glad to have him as his friend, he couldn't help but smile genuinely. His friend looked at him somewhere between weirded out and softly exasperated as he went to his desk and placed his phone on it and moved the chair so that it was facing the bed, and he could tell he was worried about him.
"My parents called so I went out to answer and let you sleep." Law explained without it being asked while he sat on the chair, crossing his arms and putting one leg above the other. Luffy easily hummed in response, bending his legs and holding his feet with his hands, his eyes on that as he spoke. He could tell Traffy was scrutinizing him, he kind of reminded him Ace and the way he would watch over him protectively as he played, ready to sprint into action at the minimum sign that he would start crying or needed something. He really misses his big brother, but now wasn't the time and place to get sad about it. He already cried too much.
"Traffy, I'm sorry about before. We didn't even get any study done-" He kept his eyes low, shame setting on him as he thought about how much of a mess he must have looked. It was really stupid to cry himself to sleep and, well, he was stupid to let himself melt down like that in the first place.
"It doesn't matter, we can get on par tomorrow." The other quickly interrupted him, gesturing with one hand and then curving his back forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Looks like you needed to rest anyway. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine." Luffy raised his head to look at him, only to be met with a skeptical look – not that it wasn't unjustified – and quickly added. "I really am! I'm feeling better, so, thank you." He was kind of glad Law wasn't the type to freak out and managed to stay relatively calm and still hadn't asked him anything. Nami pestered him with questions, and it didn't really help, but he knew it was her way to show her worry and can get how eagerly she was to help him since he had got involved in the Arlong incident and maybe she recognized some signs of abuse and that would explain her behavior. He hoped not though.
"Alright. I won't press on it. For now." Law simply answered glaring at him almost threateningly. He does find it hard to believe Luffy, not when he was saying that with his eyes still puffy and cheeks and nose a little red from crying. The aspiring doctor sighed again and pushed his fingers on his closed eyes, realizing he was acting angry again even though it was not the emotion he wanted to express, Luffy looking at him quietly, thinking who knows what.
"Ugh, I'm not good at this. Sorry, I shouldn't have phrased it like that." Law raised one hand up in defeat and the other gripping his hair, like asking for a time-out so that he could put order on his mind. The scared look Luffy had earlier at the sudden actions he took flashed his mind and felt shame bubbling up into his throat. He should really work on it. He wants to help, not making it worse, for Luffy and his friends.
"Traffy, it's really fine." Law looked back at him again as he heard Luffy move to get up from his bed, sitting with his feet down on the floor, resting his hands on the mattress behind his back. "I know what you're like." He was softly smiling again like his usual self, even though he still looked tired.
"Still, I feel bad we didn't do much study." He added rubbing his face frustratingly.
"Don't sweat it, it's not a big problem Luffy-ya." Law spoke back with much more patience in his voice than he thought it would be possible, in order to sound more reassuring. Luffy smiled at him again, before glancing at the clock, Law following his eyes after seeing his soft smile subtly flattered a little.
"I… I should go home." Luffy said hesitantly, and Law for some reason wanted to find some excuse to make him stay just a little more. Maybe have dinner together, it's not like he had already a plan on what to eat. But before he could voice out his thoughts, Luffy got up and started to gather his notes from the desk.
Law got himself up to help Luffy, getting his backpack from where it was lazily placed near the door. He didn't like this silence, not a bit, and he didn't like the fact how Luffy seemly was in a rush to get back home as soon as possible, not when he had cried like that for something possibly connected to that place, and it was extremely frustrating not knowing a thing but recognized this isn't the right moment to ask. Besides, he really knows nothing, not even where his friend actually lived and who were his parents. Should he ask Luffy's friends first? It kinda wanted to, but it felt unfair. Law tried to distract himself thinking about organizing their next study session.
"Think we can catch up tomorrow?" Luffy turned around to look at him, finding Law handing him his backpack.
"Yeah." He looked at him thankfully and Law tried again to not think about it, as he finished packing his stuff in but stopped as he thought and spoke again turning to him. "Oh, but tomorrow I'm supposed to stay at school and help Nami with some heavy boxes. Is it fine if we meet around 6 pm?"
Law sighed mentally, because how could he even say no after what happened, even if they would have less than an hour to get anything done.
"Of course." Luffy smiled brightly at him as he fixed his backpack on his shoulder, letting Law make his way down the stairs and to the front door. He got his shoes and sat down on the small stair in front of it, quickly putting them on.
"Just one thing." Law spoke as he opened the door, checking the weather and then turning his head back to the other boy who was standing up and moving his feet a little to adjust the shoes. "Will you tell me what that was about?" Luffy immediately stopped the movement and looked away on the floor, biting his lip while holding a little tighter one string of the backpack.
Law of course regretted it instantly and cursed himself for his slip due to the lack of patience and tried to clarify. "Not now or tomorrow. Just when you feel like it." He added on second thought trying to lighten the mood. "You did almost give me a heart attack." He was talking too much, isn't he? But Law felt the urge to reassure him, fearing that Luffy would close up, and he let the door close as he continued. "I'm worried about you, Luffy-ya. Just know you can come here any time, not just to study. Just next time give me a heads up or something." He didn't want to find him crying silently again. Law purposefully said next time, and hoped Luffy got the message.
Luffy said nothing as he looked at him gratefully as Traffy spoke, ultimately nodding in response as the other let out a small sigh of relief and instinctively put his arm forward as Luffy gratefully leaned in against his chest. As Luffy tucked himself under his chin still gripping tightly on his backpack, Law closed in the arm and put it over the other's shoulders to hug him quickly.
They stayed like that for maybe a minute or something more before Luffy started to straighten up and rubbed his eyes again, removing a few tears stuck into his eyes. He then looked up at him with his best smile, still a little red on his face but nonetheless looking fine.
"See ya tomorrow, Traffy." Law greeted him back as he reopened the door for him, unfazed by Luffy's lack of response. Maybe he really was at loss of words, he has always preferred actions over words. Luffy hugged him again quickly before stepping out, waving at him with one hand and walking away.
That must be the way he says thanks. Law thought as he watched him for a couple more of moments before closing the door, reassured by the fact that Luffy now knew he would be there for him.
Law kept tumbling his fingers on his desk trying to stay focused on his study task even though it was around 7:13 pm, and Luffy still hadn't showed up at his place despite the appointment being almost one hour and half ago. They would have had already finished the project. Since it was raining, he supposed the boy would be late – and that was fine, Luffy was actually almost never late, and never this late at all – especially since he had some things to do at school, so he simply sent him a text asking him if he could still make it today and started to do his part while waiting for him or at least for a response, putting his phone close just in case to hear the notification. Not to mention, he didn't really hear anything from him since yesterday, and today they had no class in common and didn't even see him through the halls or at lunch time. He thought about contacting Nami or some other of his friends, but quickly realized he had no way in doing so, no phone number or social media, and neither did his own group of friends.
He still couldn't concentrate and decided to send Luffy another message, this time asking if everything was okay, and placed his phone closer. Not too long passed before his phone started vibrating signaling a call incoming and responded seeing it was Luffy. Law was about to greet him trying to sound annoyed but quickly stopped upon hearing small hiccups and sobs on the other side of the line. He blinked a couple of times realizing that the boy trusted him well enough to reach for him while he was clearly in distress, and that this made it the second time he heard – and was going to see – Luffy crying.
"Luffy-ya."
He got a muffled affirmative response as Luffy probably was covering his mouth with one hand trying to smother the sobs, the rain could be heard on the background. Law wanted to ask him what was wrong, why he was crying, but couldn't find his voice and was beat in time as the other boy continued.
"'M sorry." Luffy spoke with his voice full of tears as he made some rustling sounds probably from some blanket being moved around. "Can I still come over…?"
"I'm meeting you halfway." Law responded without a thought trying to keep his tone calm and reassuring. Of course he can! He thought he already made sure to let him know that he was always welcome at his house whenever he wants.
"N-No need…" The other responded and sniffed again. Law didn't feel like contesting the crying boy over the phone and stayed silent for a few moments, contemplating about what to say next.
"Are you hurt?" He finally asked trying to sound still stable and reassuring.
Luffy didn't answer at all, and Law pictured him directing his eyes somewhere on the floor, an habit the other always make when lying or hiding something, but nonetheless decided to not push the matter for the moment. He waited for a more couple of seconds, just in case, before speaking again.
"…Want some company on the way?." Law sighed heavily holding his head in distress.
Luffy sobbed again and Law felt his scowl deepen in his forehead as the other tried to talk as clear as he could with a running nose and with a voice full of tears. "No, th-thank you. I'm- I'm almost here." More rustling sounds and a deep breath. So he was coming at his place.
Law felt a little better and quickly looked over at the clock on his nightstands to know the time: 7:21 pm. "You can stay the night. Obviously." He was already worried about the younger boy out while having a breakdown and was going to let it pass until he was apparently close, figures if he had to go back home late at night with whatever was going on there. They did have school tomorrow, but Law was ready to skip it and stay with him if it would be the case.
"I…" Luffy was probably going to give out some excuse, but instead just took a couple of big breaths and said with a shaky voice.
"Traffy, thank you."
Hello!
Another comfort fic, I know. Longer than even I expected.
It's my first time writing something like this, so please do comment if you have any suggestions, critics, or really anything.
Probably will add another chapter, but can't promise anything.
Don't own One Piece, none its character.
