"So Vapor was it? It's nice to officially meet you."
"Yeah it's nice to meet you too sir."
I felt nervous that dad wouldn't like my boyfriend but so far it seemed to be going well. I looked at my brother sitting on the couch giving me a silent thumbs up. I got the message and turned my attention back to my parents.
"You're welcome to eat dinner with us if you like Vapor."
"That sounds good thank you ma'am."
Soon we were all sitting down eating dinner together. I quietly whispered to Yin that he has to make a move with Luce now. He blushed at the mention of her but he nodded quietly while I looked to see how Vapor was doing while my dad was egging him with questions.
"How did you meet my daughter?"
"We were lab partners for a science project and after that we just kind of clicked and have been dating ever since."
I blushed at the memories of us and held his paw under the table. He gave me a flicker of a smile before answering more of dad's questions.
"What do you do at school? Any extracurriculars?"
"I'm captain of the soccer team. We're going to the nationals in December."
"An athlete? That is fascinating. Is that something you always wanted to do?"
And that was pretty much how the dinner went. Eventually when it was getting late I walked Vapor to the door and we hugged and kissed each other goodnight.
"Sorry about my dad badgering you with questions like that. He's just a little protective of his kids. I'm glad you handled that so well."
"Well you're my girl so I kind of have to pull all the stops you know?"
"Hahaha stop. But that is really sweet of you to say."
"And you know you love it baby. Seeya round?"
"Definitely."
We kissed one last time before slowly pulling apart and Vapor walking away with one last wave. I waved at him back and turned to hear Yin standing behind the door.
"Ooh you two are so kissy kissy aren't you?"
"Shut up Yin. He's confident and I like that in a mon."
"Well at first I thought he was messing with my sister but now I think he's passable. I mean he 'pulls out all the stops for you.' Hahahahaha!"
"Shut it Yin! Anyways don't you have a specific girl to be worrying about asking out? One of a cold variety?"
"You just barely brought your boyfriend over. Give me some time impatient one."
"Alright. I can't wait to see how you plan to do it."
"I will! Just wait!"
"Oh no worries I will."
"Is this the Silver & Eve Residence?"
Me and my brother turned in surprise to see an elderly Umbreon standing behind us in the hallway.
"Uh yes? Who are you?"
"If this is really their place. Then it's nice to meet you granddaughter."
"Hold on. Granddaughter? I only have 1 grandpa and that's my mother's father."
"Then prepare to be surprised but I'm your father's father. Which makes me your grandpa."
"What?"
"Yuna. Yin. Get behind me."
Dad came out of the house and ushered us to stand behind him while he looked at our second grandpa like he wanted him to fall dead where he stood.
"Hello again son."
"No! You don't get to call me that! Not after what you did to me and my mother! Stay the hell away from me and my family!"
He let out a low growl out of his throat and honestly I have never seen him this angry before.
"I just wanted to see how my son was doing seeing that he's a champion of Kalos now. And I say you have doing well for yourself son. I'm so proud of you."
"I don't give a shit about you! Get out of here and stay away from my kids!"
"Temper temper son. No worries I'll leave momentarily. Especially after I tell you how well the visit with your mother went. Even though she told me to get the hell out of there too she is still is as dang gorgeous as the last time I saw her."
Dad growled as he slapped his paw across his dad's face hard.
"DON'T YOU EVER SAY A WORD ABOUT MY MOTHER LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN! STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER!"
"Silver! Not in front of the kids! Kids come on get inside!"
"Oh and this must be your wife. Eve right? Well I see my son has also found a beautiful little thing for himself. Welcome to the family pretty."
My grandpa briefly grabbed my mother's paw and planted a kiss on top of it. She pulled away in angry disbelief as my dad rounded angrily on him, and we got pulled inside as mother shut the door so we wouldn't see what would happen next. I heard the sounds of growling and fighting as it sounded like dad was beating the shit out of grandpa. My dad was a really good fighter. I even saw some old videos of dad in the God's Tournament 17 years ago and he was a badass with mom beside him of course. Grandpa would most definitely be leaving with his fair share of bruises.
Eventually it stopped as the sounds of receding footsteps faded away as I heard dad yelling stuff at him that I wouldn't dare repeat. Dad came in with a small scratch across his face and mum was immediately by his side in concern.
"Baby are you okay?!"
"Yeah hun I'm okay. Just a small scratch after the basta- jerk scraped the side of my face."
"Let's put some iodine on it so you don't get an infection."
"Yes dear."
"Kids go to bed. Oh and take Vivi upstairs too."
"Okay. Goodnight mum. Dad."
"Goodnight kids."
Yin scooped up Vivi from the couch and we both headed upstairs to get ready for bed.
In the morning mum was on edge a little as she took the three of us to school and dad left for work with a small bandaid on his face. She kept looking at us almost like she was scared for our safety I could see it in her eyes.
"Mom?"
"Yes Yuna?"
"We're okay. Trust me. Dad made sure he won't bother us. Right mum?"
My mother looked forward not saying a word. She probably knew something we didn't about him and I wondered what it was.
"I'm sorry kids. I'm just worried about the three of you after what happened last night with the Umbreon. Your father was really worried last night and he even called your grandma Vylena to make sure she was alright. And even this morning he was nervous. Just promise me you'll be careful. For your mother and father be careful please."
I looked at Yin and even he was getting worried, but he gave me a light nod telling me to reassure mum by promising to be careful.
"Yeah mum we promise."
