"What is done out of love always occurs beyond good or evil" -Friedrich Nietzsche
We are not born equal, nor are we anything but equal. That is the reality every child learns at a very young age. In this world, where 80% of the human population have a unique ability called a 'quirk'. An ability that allows someone to perform heroic acts, or simply do petty crimes for their own sick fantasy. It was always like this, until it wasn't. Because whenever there is a dream, there will always be something that will bring you back to reality.
"Help! Someone help!"
"Hey stop squirming; just relax, it will be all over before you know it." The young woman tried to break free again but it was fruitless. Two other thugs were holding her hands against a wall, the third one, the leader, was placing his hand on the woman's thighs. The look of depravity and lust was on the thugs face. The young woman just shut her eyes, accepting her fate, until…
A brick was thrown at the leaders head, falling to the concrete floor, leaving their leader unconscious. "What the hell!" The thugs and young woman looked to the open alleyway. Walking out was a teenager who looked to be on his way home with groceries. He wore a simple black jacket with a white t-shirt underneath and damemer jeans; his face was blank but the woman caught a glimmer of something within the boy's blue eyes, she just doesn't know what. "H-hey, you got a death wish or something?!" The thug said, stuttering. The boy didn't respond but he took notes of the woman's condition. Her shirt was torn off, her bag on the ground.
The teen sat his groceries bag on the ground and took a fighting stance. "That's it, you're dead!" One of the thugs said, running towards the teen, leaving his friend with the girl, right before turning one of his hands into a mallet. The teen saw this, and immediately dodge with a sidestep and immediately kicked the thug's head, knocking him to the wall before hitting the ground. The third thug saw this, throwing the women to the ground and drawing out a pocket knife. The teen saw this, he was able to dodge a couple of swings but got a cut on his cheek. The teen took a couple of steps back, just enough for breathing room, the thug looked at the boy and immediately took his chances to kill him. However the thug was wide open and the teen took his chance. Letting the thug get closer to the teen and then sidestep once again, grabbing his knife while simultaneously breaking his arm, the thug screamed but the teen wasn't done, the teen then kicked the thug's head so hard he went flying, landing on the ground, leaving him unconscious.
After the fight the young man walked over to the woman, who was still shaking up from what she saw, the teen out straight his hand to her allowing her to stand up. "You okay?" The woman nodded, then the teen walked over to one of the thugs, and took their jacket off. "Here–you need something to cover yourself up, yeah?" The woman looked at it for a moment but the boy was already giving the jacket to her. Still not sure what to say, she looked at the jacket barfly before looking back up, only to see the young man leaving with his groceries. Still unsure what to say, she only replied in a quiet tone, "Thank you." Before seeing the young man heading back into the business streets of Japan.
The young teen continued his walk. After his encounter with the street thugs, the young man was in deep thought, he got everything he needed for tonight's dinner: fish, ingredients for rice cakes, leeks, some poke and noddles, and of course some bread. 'It should be enough. right?' He thought to himself. He stops walking and turns to look at a bookstore before looking at his watch that reads 5:42. "She should be done by now." He said looking back at the bookstore, letting out a sigh, "Screw it." He said under his breath, right before walking in.
Walking in he saw a variety of books that were in shelfs, a sight that he was too familiar with. As he continued to walk around he heard laughter coming from one of the rooms–the kids section of course. Walking over he saw ten children sitting on the floor in front of a young girl who was around the boy's age and bore similar facial features, along with the same straight white hair and blue eyes, only hers hair were little longer, while his were shorter; she also worn similar clothing to that of the young boy's outfit.
"And what happened next?"
"Well. When he was about to reach the bottom, the three little pigs lit their fireplace. It took the wolf a moment to realize it, but when he did, his butt was already on fire. The wolf immediately jumped out of there and he ran all the way back to the forest, letting the piggies live in peace once more." The children were happy with the end, and the young girl was happy to see the children enjoy the story for today. From the corner of her eye, she saw the young boy leaning on the doorframe with the groceries, and with a smug smile on his face.
"Right. I think that's it for today." She said, the kids let out loud groans of disappointment, "But miss Tsukikodomo, we wanted to hear more." She giggled a little bit, "Maybe some other time, okay." After saying that, all of the kids let out disappointing groans before leaving just the two teens. The young man looks at the girl and says, "You know you should let me tell a story at some point."
"No way. Knowing you, you'll probably make something up that involves you being a badass." She said as she's putting up the books. The boy that clutches his heart, pretending to be hurt.
"Oh, you wounded me dear sister. I don't make it up, I only give out the facts." He said proudly. "Yeah whatever." Tsuki said, before putting the books away. She looked back at him and noticed the scar on his left cheek; she looked at him with a worried look, "What?"
"Izuku, your cheek." She said, "It's just a scratch."
"Just a scratch, no, you were fighting again–were you?" Izuku looked at Tsuki with annoyance, "What, no! Come on, you know me better than that–" he stopped mid-sentence and noticed Tsuki eyes–a combination of seriousness, and worry. Izuku let out a sigh, and deciding to answer her truthfully, "Yeah, I got into a fight. But for good reason."
"Which is…"
"A bunch of thugs were bothering a woman, so I stepped in and stopped it." He finished. Tsuki let out a sigh, before walking past Izuku towards the checkout counter, "Come on, let's patch you up."
After applying Izuku with a Band-Aid and leaving the library, they both started to head towards the train station. On the way Izuku turned towards one of the giant billboards, "Hey look." Tsuki stopped and looked back at Izuku, she looked where he was looking and saw a news report.
"In later News, reports are still unsure of the death of local high schooler: Mokato Uzumaki–who was found dead near Tokyo Bay last night. Reports from last night say that Mokato was found around 3:45 am, with the lower part of his body missing, and bits of flash and organs missing. Speculation believes that he was killed right before being eaten, we are unsure if this is true or false. We will be keeping updates on this matter. This is channel MNN, signing off."
"Damn... What a way to die."
"Yeah. Hope his family will be okay." They stayed in silence for a few minutes, before Tsuki spoke again, "Come on, let's get going. Father Hisashi will be worried if we stay out for too long." She said, earring a nod from Izuku. The two continued to walk towards the station after Izuku stopped for a brief moment to look back at the billboards one last time before walking back with Tsuki.
