Chapter 2 Red Kingdom

The group arrived at the Kingdom of the Red Queen with the people there waiting for them.
Red Queen goes foward as Naofumi and Raphtalia followed her.
"Well everyone this is my Kingdom." She said.
"It looks interesting." Naofumi said.
Many of the Kingdom bow to them.
Naofumi was surprised at that.
"To rule a Kingdom you must show power, to make them have respect towards you." Red Queen said.
"Show power to get respect?" Naofumi questions.
"Of course, that Queen I told you from that Kingdom didn't show that level of respect and her husband is ruining it behind her back." Red Queen said.
Naofumi darkly frowns at the mention of that trash.
"Also Raphtalia I prepared sweets for your welcome here." Red Queen said.
"Sweets?" Raphtalia questions in surprise.
"Yes, the chefs made some delicious tarts." She said.
"Tarts?" Naofumi questions. "What kind?"
"Cranberry." Red Queen told them.
"Cranberry?" Naofumi questions.
"Sounds like it would be interesting to try." Raphtalia said.
They went inside the castle making the two look around the place.
"It's so big." Raphtalia said.
"It also looks better than Trash's castle." Naofumi said.
"Thank you." They went to a living room of sorts saw huge stack of tarts on the table.
"That's a lot of tarts." Naofumi comments.
"And they're all for you Raphtalia." Red Queen said.
"Really?" Raphtalia questions stunned.
"Yes... Wait." Red Queen counts the tarts. "27, theres three missing!"
"Maybe the chefs are still making them?" Naofumi suggests. "They may have ran out of ingredients and had to get more?"
"No, someone stole it!" She yelled.
"Maybe you should ask the chefs first just in case mother." Raphtalia said nervously.
"Considering what happened you don't want to do what Trash did to me." Naofumi said.
"But we did serve the exact number and left it here." One of the chefs came.
"Why would someone steal the tarts? I mean I somewhat get it if they are as good as you said but wouldn't they steal something else like jewels or gold?" Raphtalia questions.
"Because they're delicious." The chef Said and the Queen goes out. "Also what the heck. If we are to blame we lose our heads you two."
"Seriously? I just said a possibility and you would get punished for something that can and could happen at anytime?" Naofumi questions.
At the throne room the Queen looks around and the duo came.
They saw the Jester eating something.
"Are you eating my daughter's tarts?"
He got nervous and looks back and shakes his head.
She wipes something from his cheek and tastes it. "It's cranberry juice."
"Off with his head!" She ordered.
Many cheered for her and she smiles.
Then the card soldiers dragged him away while singing.
He's going to lose his head!
For stealing the tarts of the princess in red!
It serves him right since they belong to the princess in red!
"Why are they singing?" Naofumi questions.
"It's just how this kingdom works." A soldier told him.
'Weird.' Naofumi thinks.
The tarts came in a cart with more added.
"Now you can enjoy my dear Raphtalia." The queen smiles at her.
Raphtalia was given one and she slowly takes a bite of it. Her eyes widen in delight.
The White Queen came. "Racie."
"Oh Raphtalia meet your aunt." Red Queen said.
"My aunt?" Raphtaila questions in surprise.
"Yes, my name is Mirana, it's so good meeting you again Raphtalia." She smiles.
"N-nice to meet you too." Raphtaila said as she puts the tart down on a plate and bows to her.
"No need to be that formal, we're family." She said.
"R-right." Raphtalia said.
"Raviel, is a little busy, and we have another person of this kingdom that will come." White Queen said.
A person came inside and the duo saw a woman with long blonde hair wearing a blue dress.
"Everyone, meet Alice." She smiles.
"Alice?" Naofumi questions as he is starting to remember something that this place reminds him of.
"Greetings everyone." She bows.
"She's one of our strongest warriors, and she can help you Shield Hero." White Queen said.
"Help me how?" Naofumi questions.
"She's a swordwoman." Red Queen said.
"Maybe you two should have a spar?" The White Queen suggests.
"Her level is too high for him yet and she's too skilled." Red Queen stopped that.
Naofumi checks her level and it's 60.
"Level 60?!" Naofumi exclaims in shock and surprise.
"Good point. Hmm maybe we should give him materials we have he can use for his shield then." The White Queen suggests.
"How is she that strong?" Naofumi said.
"In my kingdom, we make our troops stronger, the others are too busy using legendary heroes that they don't spend the resources to train they're own men as even the weakest here are 25." Red Queen explained.
"Seriously? That's lazy of them." Naofumi said frowning.
"Yes, it's something that happens, and they're troops tend to die because of that making them have to get more. But my card soldiers can live for a long time." She said.
"You could have conquer and ruled over them a long time ago, right?" Naofumi asks.
"Yes, but where's the fun in that, I have more things to worry about." Red Queen said.
"Like what?" Naofumi asks.
"The waves for example." She said.
"Of course." Naofumi frowns understanding that.
"Now what we'll be doing is going to the dragon hourglass and give a few sand from it." She said.
"Why?" He said.
"Because it will allow you to teleport back to the kingdom." Red Queen told him.
"That is useful." Naofumi said as it means he would have a quick getaway incase he gets in over his head or there is a medical emergency.
"Yes, it can make a portal, now let's go." She said.
They went to another part of the castle and saw the hourglass and it was model after the Jabberwocky.
"It's modeled after the Jabberwocky." Raphtaila coments.
"Of course, as the most powerful dragon here, it should be based on him." Red Queen said.
They took some sand out and gave to Naofumi's shield, it then changed into the Dragon Hourglass Sand Shield.
"I wonder what else this shield can do?" Naofumi questions.
"It be more for utility, but you can grow more, it seems those idiots are too focused with they're levels over actually training." Red Queen talks about the other three so called "heroes" since her spies told her.
"And actual training can help you survive and win." Alice said.
"They think this is some game." Naofumi said.
"Then those three have some screws loose, not surprising since one fell for the lies of the princess." Red Queen said.
"Someday because of her lying she is going to die or suffer a fate worse than death." Alice said shaking her head.
"Agreed." The White Queen said.
"Now let's go, since you'll need some new armor too shield hero." Red Queen said.
"New armor?" Naofumi questions in surprise.
"Of course as part of my kingdom, you'll have to have a heart symbol." She said.
"Ok." Naofumi said getting what she means.
"Oh while you're doing that, I'll get some soldiers to start gathering some of the materials and shields we have." The White Queen said.
"Well thanks." He was surprised how nice they are.
"Unlike that idiot we wish to help you get stronger since you'll be looking after my daughter." Red Queen said.
"Are you sure you don't want her to stay with you?" Naofumi asks surprised.
"She wishes to join you." Red Queen said.
Naofumi looks at Raphtalia surprised at what the Queen said.
"Raphtalia are you sure? You're no longer my slave." Naofumi said.
She smiles. "I want to be at your side, as a true party member."
Naofumi was surprised at that and was slightly grateful.
"If that is your choice then fine." Naofumi said.
"Well everyone, time to get to work, also you should be taking care of that egg." Red Queen told Naofumi.
"Do you know what kind of egg it is?" Naofumi asks.
"That's random, you'll just have to wait and see." White Queen said.
"Hopefully whatever is it, it won't be a huge problem for everyone." Naofumi said.
They nodded and Naofumi started to settle in the Kingdom.
Alice bows at Naofumi. "I will fight with you, as I am one of the greatest warriors of the Kingdom."
He understood and nodded since she must have seen many battles.
Note: They went to the Kingdom and the White Queen and Alice appeared, Alice is that high since she's been training and fighting monsters for years, as the Kingdom doesn't focus on Legendary Heroes but improve they're own forces, like imagine this, you have a football team that doesn't have as much of star players but instead maximize they're skills to better use, as the Red Queen made sure they would be the strongest while still making them be even better.
Also for those always asking a update, this story was still fresh so calm down.
