4 MONTHS LATER
Clementine gazed at the fire in front of her with a cold look in her eyes, albeit a determined one. She sighed, "I really wish we could find some food around here." Clementine wrapped her arms around herself, trying to preserve any body heat she could. She adjusted herself on the log that she was sitting on, hoping for a more comfortable position.
"It's getting cold out here isn't it, sweet pea." Lee said. His voice reaffirmed to Clementine that everything was going to be alright, as long as Lee was here with her.
"We need to find you your own jacket, then you won't have to borrow mine anymore. I say it's a bit too big for you." Lee chuckled and looked back at Clem with his oversized jacket hanging on her.
Lee got up and threw some more firewood on top of the fire, hoping to keep it going as long as he could. He scrambled around looking for more firewood or anything that was even capable of burning.
Lee sighed and said, "Not finding anything else that will burn around here... I'm gonna have to go out a bit farther, Clem." Clementine looked up at Lee.
"Can I at least come with you?"
Lee took a knee down and gazed up at Clem. "I think it's best if you stay here by the fire, where it's warm. Hey, don't worry, I'll be back before you know it." Clementine dropped her shoulders a bit, and looked down to the ground.
"Okay..." She said with a tone of sadness in her voice.
"I will be right back, Clem. And remember, anything happens, you run as fast as you can in the direction I was headed in. You yell as loud as you can."
Clementine nodded.
Lee stood up and grabbed his axe off the log it was laying against. He walked off into the distance, disappearing into the shrubbery. Clementine got off of the log that she was sitting on and got closer to the fire. "Chilly out here..." She wrapped her arms around herself once again.
The heavy winds that were blowing didn't make it any better. "I have no idea how Lee manages to do all that he does in the cold... without a jacket!" She thought out loud to herself. She gazed into the fire hoping for Lee to come back quickly.
Lee stumbled himself through the heavy shrubbery of the woods, before emerging into an opening. He looked off into the distance and saw a rather large building.
"Wow... an abandoned factory in these woods? Strange." Lee walked towards the building, hoping that there would somehow be something of use inside. He got closer to the entrance of the building, approaching the door frame of where a door once lied. The factory must have been abandoned for a very long time. It was in such a bad condition you could say it was falling apart.
Lee stepped inside of the factory carefully, emerging in a small hallway, with a few doors on the sides with an opening at the end. Hoping to draw out any walkers, Lee yelled out.
"HELLO!" Lee waited in silence for something to happen, all the while having his axe ready to slice into something. Eventually, something did come out. However, it wasn't a walker... Lee saw the silhouette of a rather large man emerge from the darkness of the opening in the hallway.
He stepped forward out of the darkness, revealing himself to Lee. The man yelled out to Lee.
"Whoever you are, I don't want trouble." Lee lowered his axe, although still weary of the man in front of him.
"Well, you're not gonna get any from me... Well, as long as you don't want any." The man had a full head of hair and facial hair that was outgrown, Lee reckoned he was around 6'5 but the thing is, he was rather slim.
"I'm guessing you're pretty damn hungry, aren't you?" Lee exclaimed.
"Yeah you could say that shit." The man responded with a chuckle. Lee approached the man, stopping in front of him.
"The name's Lee. How about you." Lee said.
The man looked at Lee with a hopeful look in his eyes.
"My name's Logan, it's damn well nice to meet someone who doesn't wanna kill me, Lee." Now that the plan had changed with a new addition to the group, Lee and Logan walked back towards the camp.
"Y'know Lee, I've heard of a place that is deemed safe... At least, from the people I've talked to." Lee continued walking, finally reaching the forest again, all the while he began to scramble through the rough shrubbery.
"Yeah well..." Lee groaned as he pushed through the shrubbery.
"People can say a lot of things. Don't mean that it is safe. But, really, what other damn options do we have." Logan nodded his head in agreement with Lee.
"So... uh- how'd you end up in the fact-" Lee's sentence was cut off by a scream in the distance.
"CLEM" Lee yelled out, before bursting into a sprint, readying his axe. Logan followed not long after Lee. Lee approached the campsite quickly, he saw Clementine but he also made out multiple other people. Lee didn't give a damn. He bursted into the campsite quickly, glaring at the people around. He had multiple guns pointed at him instantly.
A man put Clementine behind himself, and glared at Lee. Logan walked out of the shrubbery slowly, and stopped. Lee glanced at Logan, and then turned his head back towards Clem.
"Listen, we just want your shit, buddy." The man with Clementine groaned out. He had a raspy voice, he was equipped with a hoodie and some jeans. He wore a bandanna, which concealed his face. He had his gun pointed at Lee.
Lee glared at him with fury in his eyes. His hands trembled as he tightened the grip he had on his axe.
Logan circled around, looking for a possible opening where he could take out one of these men, but the guns pointed at him made it quite the difficult task. The man glared at Lee, beginning to approach Lee slowly all the while his gun was readied on Lee.
"Drop that damn axe, otherwise I'll shoot you right now and be done with it."
Lee nodded slowly and dropped the axe. The man put the gun up to Lee's head, and repeated himself.
"Again... give me all your shit, or you fucking die. You and the goddamn girl, you understand that?" Lee thrusted his head slowly into the gun, glaring into the man's eyes.
"You think fucking robbing us will get you anything? WE DON'T GOT SHIT." Lee yelled.
*BANG* A bullet went straight through the man's head. He dropped dead to the ground. Lee looked at his corpse with a slight look of shock. Lee snapped out of it quickly, grabbing the man's gun and shooting two other men in the head. He then ran for cover behind a tree. Logan ran towards the man pointing the gun at him. Logan grabbed his gun and then wrestled around for it, a battle of strength. Logan even in his weak state, easily out powered the man. He used his rifle and smashed him in the jaw with it.
The man dropped to the ground. Logan then put a bullet into his head. One more of these bandits to go. The last one grabbed onto Clementine's hair, putting a gun to her head. He scrambled back where he could get a view of both Lee and Logan.
"IF ANY OF YOU TRY ANYTHING, I'LL FUCKING KILL HER!" The man yelled out. Lee could tell he was shitting bricks. Lee started to bring up his gun towards the man.
*BANG* Another shot rang throughout the forest. The man holding Clementine was shot in the head. He dropped to the ground, dead. Clementine ran towards Lee, wrapping her arms around him. Lee grabs hold of Clem, holding her tightly against him.
Lee began to look around for who had shot the men. The three looked around them in anxiousness, it was quiet now. Logan walked towards Lee and turned his back against him. He readied his rifle and looked into the woods.
"Got your back, Lee." Logan muttered out. A man emerged from the side that Lee was facing, along with another man and a woman on the side Logan was covering. The three people converged with each other and stood in front of both Lee and Logan. A man that stood taller than the average male height, wearing a rather memorable leather jacket, stepped towards Lee.
He looked towards the two others and nodded his head, possibly letting them know to lower their guard.
"I wasn't going to let those pieces of shit kill a little girl." The man looked at Lee and held out his arm, pointing at the two others. "These are my friends, Richard and Lola. I'm Ross."
"What's your name anyway?" Lee put the gun he had held in his hand into his waistband.
"The name's Lee. This is Logan and Clementine." He exclaimed.
The man responded with, "Well Lee, it's nice to meet you. All of you look rather fucking hungry, would you wanna come with us? We got a little motel that we're held up in, not far from here. We got more people there, and we could sure use some new faces around." Lee glanced towards Logan, and Logan nodded at Lee.
"Whatever you say, Lee." Logan said. Lee put a hand gently onto Clementine's shoulder, and took a knee.
He glanced at Clem and said, "What do you think Clem? Do you wanna go with these people?" Clementine shrugged a bit and looked at Lee. "I think they are good people Lee! They saved me, and we really need food!"
Lee braced his arms around Clementine, hugging her tightly. "I'm sorry that happened to you, Clem."
Lee looked up towards Ross and said, "We'll come."
