Author's Note
Starting at this point, trainers will have Pokemon from their Black 2 and White 2 World Tournament teams if they have them. I said that there wouldn't be only gen 4 Pokemon and move sets for this story, and we will gradually see more and more, eventually moving to their Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Teams.
"So you don't think I was too harsh sending those three home?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"No, I mean sure they wanted to help, but if you know what we're up against, then you need to make those calls." Ark admitted. "I had to do it all the time with the Ultra Guardians."
"So this whole saving the world thing, it's nothing new to you then?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Far from it, ever since a strange wormhole opened up in my baby bedroom, it's like my life has been drawn to chaos." Ark said with a chuckle.
"Wait, what a do you mean, a wormhole in your bedroom?" Arceus asked.
"I don't remember much, just a bright swirling light I was reaching for the next thing I know, I'm in Alola, deep inside the Aether Foundation." Ark admitted. "So what exactly are these plates we're looking for, I doubt you need help setting the table for dinner."
"No, the plates are the source of my power, what do you know of the Legend of Arceus?" Arceus asked.
"BZZRT allow me!" Rotomdex said, unfolding from Ark's bag. "Wait who are you two?" Rotomdex asked, looking between Master Ash and Arceus. "INCREDIBLE! YOU HAVE A 99.99% FACIAL MATCH TO ARK! WHO ARE YOU?"
"I could ask the same thing." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Right, I guess I should introduce the three of you. Ash, Arceus, this is Rotomdex, my Pokedex. Rotomdex this is Arceus and Ash, a multiversal counterpart of mine." Ark explained.
"INCREDIBLE, I NEED TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THIS!" Rotomdex exclaimed.
"Rotom, focus, you said you knew the legend." Ark said.
"Allow me." Arceus said. "When I came to this universe, I brought with me 18 plates to represent each of your types of Pokemon, and while the Normal Plate has long since been destroyed, the remaining 17 do remain. We are on a quest to gather all of them before a force known as MissigNo can get their metaphorical hands on them."
"Alright, seems straightforward, so where's the nearest plate." Ark said.
"Hearthome City, the Spooky Plate can be found there." Arceus commented.
"Spooky plate, seems good." Ark commented.
"You have no idea what that means, do you." Pokemon Master Ash said bluntly.
"Hasn't stopped me before." Ark pointed out.
"For better or worse." Rotomdex said plainly.
A while later in Hearthome City
"All we need to do is find the plate, any idea where to look?" Ark asked.
"Yeah, look for something out of place." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Like a giant floating orb of ghosts." Rotomdex said.
"Probably," Pokemon Master Ash said. "But it's unlikely that it will be that easy to find each time."
"No, giant floating orb of ghosts." Ark said, turning Pokemon Master Ash to see the giant spirit ball above the city.
"Let's move." Pokemon Master Ash said, running towards the ghosts.
"Rotom, rapid fire, what are we looking at?" Ark asked.
"Mismagius, pure ghost type. Dusknoir, pure ghost type. Rotom, an Electric and ghost type Pokemon. And the large ghost ball looks like it is a Spiritomb, a ghost and dark type." Rotomdex exclaimed.
"Alright, ghost types, I've got the ground forces if you can handle the Spiritomb." Ark said.
"Are you sure?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"Oh yeah, Incineroar is good for this." Ark said, grabbing a Pokeball. "Incineroar use Darkest Lariat!"
"Charizard let's go!" Pokemon Master Ash called out.
Incineroar rushed forward, spinning toward Mismagius and Dusknoir, his claws slicing through the two ghosts with relative ease.
"Mismagius use Psychic! Dusknoir use Shadow Sneak!" A woman's voice called out as the orb formed into a face.
"Oh that is all kinds of freaky, and I've seen some messed up stuff." Ark said, as Incineroar ignored the Psychic attack. "Incineroar use Flare Blitz!"
Incineroar charged at Mismagius, his elbow pointed in front of him as he slammed into the ghost type as it disappeared.
"And that is also new." Ark added, not realizing Dusknoir was attacking Incineroar.
"Right, battle going on. Dhelmise help out Incineroar with Anchor Shot!"
Pokemon Master watched the battle below unfold surprised at the strange Pokemon this alternate self was using, he'd never seen Pokemon even close to these two, and their moves were unknown to him.
"Now Dhelmise use Whirlpool!" Ark called out.
"Dusknoir use Pain Split!"
Dhelmise spun around Dusknoir more and more, wrapping the bulky ghost type in its chain as the main body drew ever closer., even with slowing down for a moment.
"Now Dhelmise use Power Whip!" Ark called out.
"Dusknoir use Will o' Wisp!"
Dhelmise slammed into the side of the Dusknoir before it could counter attack against him, slamming the last bit of his metal onto Dusknoir causing the body to evaporate into the shadows.
Up in the sky
"Alright Pikachu be ready, as soon as we get close, I'll want a Volt Tackle to get their attention, and then Charizard we'll use a Flamethrower." Pokemon Master Ash commanded.
"Pika!" Pikachu reminded.
"Pi!" Ark's Pikachu added, having snuck onto Charizard with his own Pikachu.
"Fine just don't get in the way." Pokemon Master Ash said with a sigh.
"Rotototo!" The Rotom exclaimed, zooming around Charizard.
"Toucannon use Rock Blast!" Ark called out.
Pokemon Master Ash watched as a strange bird flew directly at the Rotom letting out a series of rocks as it grabbed Ark's Pikachu to begin helping in the sky.
"Incredible, he knows how to battle with more than one Pokemon at once, it's possible by my interference this Ash has an entirely different battle style." Arceus said, as Ark managed to switch between each Pokemon fluidly.
"Pikachu get Rotom's attention with a Thunderbolt, then bring him back down!" Ark called out.
Pikachu unleashed a Thunderbolt from atop Toucannon, drawing Rotom near as the three began a chase towards the ground.
"Right, now its our turn. "Charizard use Flamethrower! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Pokemon Master Ash called out, as the two attacks spread across the Spiritomb like face of Fantina.
"It's not working, her body is too big for a normal attack!" Pokemon Master Ash called out.
"Good thing we don't have just normal attacks." Ark said, readying his Z Ring. "Pikachu lets use Catastropika!"
Pokemon Master Ash watched as Ark and Pikachu made motions in sync with each other before PIkachu rocketed off of Toucannon's back, piercing through Spiritomb and landing on the other side as electricity pulsed through the ghostly body before it dissipated, a plate dropping on the other side next to Ark's Pikachu.
"The plate!" Arceus exclaimed, whisking it up before it could get taken by something else.
"I've gotta say, those were some impressive tactics and moves, where did you say you learned all that from?" Pokemon Master Ash said as he stepped off of Charizard.
"Alola, but I've spent most of the last year fighting Ultra Beasts, and that thing has nothing on some of them." Ark admitted.
"And what was that move you used, Catastropika?" Pokemon Master Ash asked in confusion.
"It's called a Z Move, I have a bunch of them available, but that one boosted Pikachu's Volt Tackle." Ark explained.
"Well then, I guess I'm glad I chose to keep you." Pokemon Master Ash said.
