After a bit of rest, Senji stirred awake. Her tail was coiled up in her own lap, and her fingers were wrapped around those of the boy relegated to driving duty. Pino rested in her lap, cooing lightly while she slept.

"Hmm. So, Pino obviously sleeps. Does she need to eat and stuff, too?," Senji felt Rody's shoulder tense up, for a moment, but neither made any attempt to move.

"No, I don't really know why she sleeps. Maybe when I'm tired?," Rody answered softly, glancing down at the little bird. Senji murmured a response, and pulled her hand away from his own. The tension that he'd been holding was released all at once, with a deep sigh. Senji scooped Pino into her palm, hardly disturbing the animal's slumber.

"So, Pino feels and shows what you're feeling. Does the connection go both ways?," the girl asked what had been on her mind for a while, pulling the bird up toward her face. Rody glanced down, unable to see the girl's expression.

"I don't think I follow," he pulled his gaze back to the road, turning off the smooth pavement and onto a much rougher road. Pino blinked awake, and looked sleepily up at Senji who smiled back. The girl used her thumb to stroke the bird's cheek, earning another soft cooing sound. Then she ever so softly planted her lips to the bird's head, startling her and her counterpart. Pino squeaked, looking wide-eyed between Senji and Rody as the girl lowered the bird onto her lap again.

"What-"

"Sorry, guess I got carried away and wanted to test it," Senji pulled herself up. She examined the view outside the window, with the treacherous path the truck was slowly descending. The vehicle crept to a slow stop, and Senji nudged Izuku awake.

"Out of gas, and end of the line," Rody updated them on their current location and started unloading the vehicle. They knelt down behind a large boulder, and examined their surroundings a little bit more. There was a train below, stopped at the border and surrounded by police officers. They were likely looking for the fugitives spying from above.

"Guess we're scaling these cliffs to get across the border," Izuku spoke first, confirming what they all had understood as the best option.

"Won't you get tired? And this thing's surprisingly heavy," Rody offered his own point. Izuku caught on just before Senji, and countered.

"We're not gonna just ditch you and go. You're not safe yet."

"He's right. Well, both of you are," Senji looked between the both of them. She could see gears turning, but before anyone could argue more Izuku sprung into action. He pulled Rody out of the way just in time to avoid getting shot by another ethereal arrow. Senji leapt to her feet, glancing back behind them and kicking the case toward the other two.

"Get moving!"

Senji shouted, while several larger projectiles flew at them. Izuku used Blackwhip and pulled Rody up over the cliff face. Senji dodged and dug into the rock with feather-shaped blades and a huge clawed hand. There was a scuffle above her, but the woman with the bow kept shooting at Senji from a nearby helicopter. She heard a shout from Rody, and swiveled around to see him lose his grip on the rocks and start tumbling down. She released her hold and tumbled toward him, but wasn't quite fast enough.

"Damnit," she cursed, reluctant to try her wings. Before she could get too lost in that thought process, a curling pillar of ice shot out and curved under them. Rody got caught first, and she grabbed hold of his hoodie to pull him upright. They slid over and up onto the top of the cliff, greeted by two more of her classmates.

Bakugo shot around the battlefield, heading for the helicopter. Todoroki's ice trapped the villain producing the larger projectiles, and he shouted something to Izuku. Senji and the others turned toward the helicopter, which Bakugo hung precariously onto. They all froze in place, as the green-haired woman who had been chasing them folded her arms across her chest and took a step off the flying vehicle.

"Wai-!"

Senji dove off the cliff, acting first, while the helicopter careened into the opposite cliff face. She let out two huge wings, tearing the back of her shirt apart, and quickly caught up with the falling villain. The red-haired girl grabbed the other's waist and pulled her along, swooping back up and crashing into the stony cliff face. They slid roughly down onto an outcropping, and Senji glanced back up to see the helicopter crashing and exploding into flames.

"Sorry, no noble sacrifices today," Senji moved swiftly to restrain the villain, slicing the left hand of their persistent attacker that controlled her quirk clean off with a feathery blade. The merciless girl then tied a strip of cloth tightly around the wrist, as a tourniquet.

"Think you've won? I'll just come after you again," the villain spat back. Senji grinned darkly at the woman, making a blade from her scales and ramming it down into the woman's thigh. The villain let out a shriek, before Senji sliced her ankles and pinned the woman's hood into the floor. The woman lost consciousness, while the other girl hastily wrapped the wounds to prevent a total bleed out. Senji turned on her phone, sending location data to Endeavor's number as well as his sidekicks, then bolted back up toward the others. She spotted them tucked between two large rocks, gliding down toward them. She lost control on the landing, stumbling forward toward Rody. She closed her eyes and braced for an impact that didn't come, looking up at an equally stunned Rody.

"The hell's with that shitty flying? And that shirt," Bakugo grumbled at her, releasing his grip on her tattered shirt. The girl stumbled a little again, but recovered before falling and stood up. She glanced at Izuku, who was fiddling with some sort of puzzle device.

"Sorry, guess I destroyed your shirt," Senji apologized to Rody, who looked briefly dismayed before he snatched the puzzle out of Izuku's hands and plopped down to work on it. She could feel an icy stare from the blonde behind her.

"It's been a rough few days," Senji grumbled. She turned to face him, ready for a fight but finding instead a much softer expression. Defeated without even a fighting chance, she switched gears. "Did you bring my bag?"

"Yeah, but why's it so heavy?," Todoroki answered, handing over her beat-up school bag.

"Heavy? Shit, I guess I should've said which one," she took the bag, and in an instant realized her mistake. She had meant for them to bring the bag with her clothes and other supplies, but it looked like instead they had gotten her electronics bag.

She unzipped the bag anyway, and luckily found that she had thrown some clothes in when she packed in a hurry. She pulled them out, then quickly lost strength as the adrenaline from the fight dissipated. Slumping forward, what was left of her shirt started to fall dangerously forward, slipping off her shoulder. Bakugo quickly snatched her collar and pulled her up, dragging her around the other side of the large boulder.

"What?"
