Lee aimed through the sights of a sniper rifle, looking through it at the Ponce City Market of Atlanta. This is where the bandits had held up. It was well defended. Every bandit was well armed, either with a rifle or handgun. The place was fenced off, with two hand built guard towers which had one guard posted in each one. There were multiple cars, those of the bandits, lining the street below. Lee's lips quivered at the sight of the bandits, finger itching to pull the trigger.
Lee took his eye off of the scope and began to look down towards the street. He saw Logan behind one of the bandits' run down trucks. He held an AK47 in his arms, holding it up near his head. Logan made sure not to hold the rifle up too far where the bandits could see it. Shane made his way near the defended gates of the City Market with a shotgun in hand, he was crouched down and out of sight of the guards. Shane gave a quick nod to Lee.
The wind had started to pick up and Lee had felt the sprinkle of rain drops hitting his denim jacket. It was turning pitch black outside. "Just in time." Lee thought to himself. Lee slowly opened the front door of the building from where he had scouted the City Market out from, and crouch walked to the side of the truck Logan was on.
"You good?" Lee whispered to Logan.
Logan nodded, "Yeah, let's do this shit, Lee."
Lee took a knee and raised up his head to see past the front of the truck. He saw Shane and gave another nod to acknowledge him. Shane returned the nod. Shane slowly crouched and walked towards the side of the fence where neither guard tower could see him. He pulled off his backpack and slowly dropped it to the ground. He unzipped it and pulled out bolt cutters in order to cut open the fence. Lee stood up and looked through the scope of his gun to the first guard tower on the left, opposite of Shane.
"Let's do this shit, Logan." With the sight of the bandit in his scope, he put the sights over his head. He slowly put his finger on the trigger and relaxed his shoulders. *BANG* He then quickly flung the rifle over to the next guard tower. The guard had already begun to raise his weapon, but he wasn't fast enough. *BANG* The next guard was shot in the head by Lee. Logan had already made his way by Shane. They were both climbing under the fence and into the perimeter of the City Market.
Lee began to run over to the now cut open fence. Some gun fire hit near Lee's feet with more bullets whizzing by. Lee couldn't see where from, but he assumed it was from a window of the City Market. Lee quickly got to the hole in the fence and climbed inside along with Shane and Logan. They converged with each other and took cover behind a row of cars inside the perimeter. Multiple bandits began running out of the market, all of them yelling at each other.
Shane whispered to Lee with a grin, "These pussies don't seem too organized."
Lee put his finger over his mouth, gesturing for Shane to shush. "Don't get cocky now, Shane." Lee whispered.
Lee flung his rifle over the side of the car which he had taken cover on and looked through the scope. He caught sight of two bandits near the entrance to the inside of the City Market. He instantly put a bullet in between both of their heads. The other bandits took cover behind other randomly dispersed cars in the City Market perimeter. One bandit decided that it was a good idea to run at them, in which he was shut down quickly. Shane crouched and turned over his shotgun across from the car and shot the bandit in the right leg, blowing it clean off.
The bandit dropped to the ground screaming bloody murder. Shane quickly crouch walked over to him all the while pulling his knife out from his pocket. He thrusted his knife into the air and down into the bandit's forehead. Another bandit had begun opening fire on the truck, the bullet whizzed past Lee as he ducked down behind the truck, putting his back against it. Logan circled around the truck to where Shane was.
Lee did the same as the three converged, they began walking forward in front of the row of cars, heading for the front door of the City Market. The entrance was just a left turn away, around 25 or 30 feet away.
"I say there's probably two or three more of these bastards left out here." Logan said as he jogged forward with his AK47.
"I'll take em' out. Lee and Shane, you go inside. Lee, get the damn girl back. I'll cover you."
Lee and Shane converged together and began to jog quickly for the front entrance of the City Market, running for the front door, they took a quick left turn and began running up the stairs to the entrance. Multiple bullets hit and whizzed past them as they ran for it, Logan began returning fire at the bandits left outside. Lee and Shane burst into the City Market, Lee took the left side and Shane took the right side.
The entrance area was rather open, with a few concrete circles with some planted trees in them. There laid a few tables and chairs around the entrance area. Lee took a right turn and crossed a concrete pillar, aiming his rifle to the center of the entrance area. Shane was across from him, aiming forward. Lee heard the sounds of quiet footsteps behind him and quickly turned around. He caught the glimpse of a bandit walking behind him before he burst out into a full on sprint.
"YAAAAUH!" The bandit tackled Lee and took him to the ground, Lee's rifle flung around 3 feet away. The bandit loaded up his right arm and swung into Lee's face two or three times before Lee caught his arm. Lee pushed his free arm into the man's neck as he gripped onto it. Lee heard the sound of gun fire coming from Shane's location, as he looked over he saw two or three bandits closing on Shane.
"SHIT!" Lee yelled out. The bandit swung Lee's arm away, and began pummeling him once again. A look of anger rose on Lee's face with each punch. Lee pushed the bandit back and kicked him in the groin. The bandit winced in pain as he dropped on one knee. Lee quickly rose up and hit the man with an uppercut to the jaw. It instantly flung him to the ground. Lee toppled onto the man who was completely dazed. He put his arms around his neck and pushed with all of his might, until he no longer heard any noises from him.
Lee was able to snap out of this blind rage from the sound of another gunshot, as he looked over and saw that Shane was gone. Lee ran back towards his rifle, picking it up and jogging back over to where he had last seen Shane. One bandit was by a door that had been left open. Lee shot the bandit before he could even react. He dropped into the brick wall behind him.
"Please... don't kill me, PLE-" The man's words were interrupted by a bullet to the head. Lee dropped his rifle down and walked into the room that the man was near. He figured Shane must have retreated into it. Lee walked into this backroom which was very poorly lit. It seemed to be a loading bay as it had garage doors and many shelves. There were a lot of crates dispersed across the room. Lee readied his rifle, all the while hearing noises not far into the room.
Lee scrambled slowly near the location of the noises until he saw Shane and another man come into view. Shane was being strangled by this man under one of the loading docks, around a 3 or 4 foot drop down from the main floor. Lee put the man into the sight of his rifle and took a breath.
*BANG* The man's brains splattered onto the concrete and onto Shane's face. Shane dropped his head to the ground and gasped for air.
"Shane, I'm gonna keep looking for Clementine. Are you good?"
Shane reluctantly pulled up his neck to look at Lee, "Yeah, keep going man, get that little girl!"
Lee rushed forward deeper into the loading bay of the City Market, until he eventually found two doors on the left and right side of him. Lee opened the left door first slowly... It was a staircase.
"This must go to the rooms of this place." Lee walked up the stairs slowly and turned to aim his rifle up, waiting for any kind of movement. There was a hallway on the right of Lee, and he was just at the end of it. Lee turned his head slowly around the corner of the hallway, noticing that there were multiple men standing outside of a certain room. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but they eventually split up from each other. Only two men stayed, seemingly guarding a single door. Lee started to hear the creaking of the wooden stairs behind him as he flung his rifle over his shoulder towards the stairs. Luckily, it was the face of Logan.
"Lee, I dealt with those bitches, Shane is fine. He is gonna come up the other set of stairs." Lee nodded at Logan and gestured for him to shush. Lee turned his head and gestured with two fingers to let Logan know there were two men down the hall.
"We gotta take them out quietly, Clementine might be in there." Lee whispered. Logan nodded. Lee gestured once again and crouch walked towards the men with Logan just behind. Luckily, the two men both had their back facing against Lee and Logan. Lee took the man on the right with a quick stab to the throat, and Logan put the other man in a choke hold, snapping his neck with a brutal crunch. Both men dropped to the ground, the man Lee had stabbed gurgled on the floor. Lee didn't give him any mercy.
"Let's get into this room." Lee slowly reached for the door handle, opening the door which didn't even have a lock. Lee walked into the room slowly, looking around. The room was in a nice condition, it looked like one of those very expensive hotel rooms. There was a bathroom on the left of Lee with a small indentation on the right wall for a sink. Two beds laid past the entrance point. Lee noticed that the bathroom door was closed. Logan shut the door to the room silently.
Lee opened the bathroom door and was instantly rushed by a huge man. He tackled Lee into the sink. Making a not so good sounding crunch in Lee's back. The thing is, he didn't notice Lee had his own company. Logan dropped a right hook into the man's jaw, making him let go of Lee instantly. Logan dug his hand into the man's shirt, and then delivered another right hook which sent him to the ground. He then slammed the man's head into the carpet before digging into his eyes with his thumbs.
The man started to scream loudly, but was quickly killed by Logan. Lee slowly got up, watching Logan brutalize the man. He winced a bit, but knew that he most likely deserved it. Lee opened up the bathroom door again, and was greeted by the face of Clementine.
"CLEM?" Clementine ran into Lee's arms and hugged him tightly. Clementine had instantly started bawling her eyes out as soon as she hugged Lee.
"We're gonna get you out of here, sweet pea." Lee picked up Clementine, and held her with one hand under her legs and the other under her back.
Lee nodded to Logan and yelled, "COME ON!" Lee and Logan ran down the stairs in which they had come up. "Lee... did yo- did you... see a old guy?"
Lee looked down at Clementine as he ran through the loading bay, looking for the entrance.
"What old guy, Clem?" Clementine looked down with tears in her eyes, "He tried to do weird things to me..."
Lee looked at Clem before coming to a complete stop. His stomach sank realizing what Clementine was referring too. Lee's lips began to quiver in anger. Lee put Clementine down, "Walk with Logan, honey. He'll get you out of here. Go Logan." Logan nodded at Lee and began to walk with Clementine. Lee took charge forward and went deeper into the City Market, reaching the entrance area. Just there, he saw Shane had killed multiple men in the entrance area. One of which happened to be on the ground, crawling while he was bleeding from the gut.
The man also happened to be a very old looking man with a leather jacket on. Lee recognized the jacket as Ross's. Lee's lips quivered in anger again, as his eyes zoned in onto the man. Lee noticed a crowbar on the ground on one of the bodies, and slowly picked it up as he approached the man.
"The hell are you doing, j-jackass? You think you're cool with that shit?" Lee walked in silence towards the man, the crowbar held by his right hand, silently making its way across the ground. The man's eyes filled with fear as he started panting heavily. Lee smashed the crowbar into the man's jaw as he flopped over in the other direction.
"Pl-ple-please stop..." The man managed to mutter out. Lee smashed the crowbar into his neck, and then flung the crowbar up and smashed it against his jaw. The man was no longer responsive. But Lee kept hammering the crowbar into him.
*KRACKK*
*CRANKK*
*CLANK*
Logan and Clementine watched in silence as they walked out of the City Market. Lee stood over the man's corpse as blood dripped off of the crowbar.
Shane walked over from the right side of Lee. "God- damn... Lee."
Lee dropped the crowbar and walked towards the entrance. He was still panting from the adrenaline rush that he had.
"Let's, jus-just get the hell out of here." Lee groaned out. They walked out of the City Market, and into the city. The sprinkling rain had turned into a loud thunder-storm, which had silenced a lot of the commotion from inside the City Market. Yet, walkers still began to flood the insides of the City Market. All that could be heard as they had walked away, were the screams of anyone left inside.
