Happy Pride Month everyone, here's a story for the show Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. This show is funny, and awesome to watch. I mostly like it for the friendship between Lunella and Casey. But I do wonder if the writers do decide to make these two friends a romantic couple (You know the classic Friends to Lovers dynamic and that's a pretty big "IF") how would that go down?

Seeing the first season finale and it being Pride Month, I finally decided to do a story for this show.

Beware for there are spoilers for the episodes OMG Issue #1 and OMG Issue #2.

Hope you guys enjoy!

It's been weeks since the fight at the Enclave's secret base had ended with a tragic finish and Casey, Mimi and Devil were working tirelessly day and night to rebuild the portal generator in order to get back the teen genius Lunella Lafayette who was the best friend of the social media addicted teen and red skinned, time displaced tyrannosaurs as well as the grandbaby of the former scientist as well as the original Moon Girl.

Unfortunately, with it being the three of them, their top priority was difficult considering a bunch of problems the trio had along the their way to succeeding in their goal.

The first one was that Mimi wanted to rebuild the machine by herself not just to save her granddaughter but also because she doesn't want to end up endangering Casey and Devil and if by the off chance that they did get the portal generator working, it might end creating some sort of portal with a black hole like effect just like before that would end up sucking all three of them into it and taking into account the unpredictability of multiversal travel, she didn't want to have their blood on her hands. Casey wasn't having any of that and refuse to leave because she was her granddaughter's bestie along with Devil and the teen girl told her off for this, saying that she wasn't the only one who wanted to rescue Lunella from wherever she ended up and that they were staying to help whether the scientist liked it or not.

The second problem was the limited number of resources that the lab had. Most of the equipment was either destroyed from the fight with the mad scientist Maris Morlak when he summoned a bunch of interdimensional monsters into their dimension, and they wrecked the place or was sucked into the portal, presumably into the dimension that Lunella was currently in. With that in mind, it was taking a lot longer to rebuild the machine. They going back to Lunella's hideout because it was blown up by the Enclave goons so that was off the table. Casey did bring up the fact that she could use her livestream to try and raise money for new equipment, but Mimi didn't know if she would risk that considering the fact that one, if word got out that the new Moon Girl was missing that would lead to a city-wide crime spree and it would be up to the police to handle it considering Casey's previous attempt at being Moon Girl herself. Mimi could try to be Moon Girl herself but she lacked the heroic experience that her grandbaby had when it came to fighting supervillains instead of robots like she did.

The second issue was that it would attract the attention of SHIELD, which Mimi didn't want the attention of. I mean, where were they when all this was happening? Also, Casey couldn't get into contact with them anyway considering that she abused her texting privileges with one of their agents, Maria Hill, her number ended up getting blocked for her troubles.

There was only one option that the trio had this point:

Tell Mimi's family the truth about everything's that's happened.

They didn't want to but at this point, what choice did they have?

Retrieving the fam was easy enough. Telling them was hard.

Pops, James and Adria just couldn't believe what they were hearing. Mimi's history as well as her being the original Moon Girl. Lunella being the new Moon Girl and the fact that Mimi knew all along and never told them about it and of course, what happened to the young teen superhero.

Mimi's husband was taken aback by his wife's secretive part of her history but considering the circumstances of the situation, he came to understand why his wife never told him about that part of her past.

James, Lunella's father was at a loss for words. He just couldn't believe it. His mother-in-law was a scientist who had the codename of the superhero that his daughter was using in order to be a superhero herself and on top of that, she continuously put herself, her best friend and that no-good dino in danger all for their sake as well as the fate of the community of the Lower East Side of New York City... and he never once put the pieces together.

Adria, Lunella's mother had a bunch of different emotions upon hearing this new information. Anger at her mother for never telling her this part of her life. Betrayed that her daughter was risking her life and never told her about her secret identity. Scared at coming face to face with Devil for the first time yet it didn't amount to the utter fear of the possibility of never seeing her baby again. But overall, she was proud that her daughter her catchphrase "One girl can make a difference" to heart.

Despite that however, it was by unanimous decision between Adria, Pops and James that Lunella was going to be sooooo grounded for... till college when they get her back!

With the rest of the family on board, getting the current Moon Girl back was now even more assured...

It took approximately 3 more weeks; in that time the current Moon Girl's absence was felt throughout the LES most noticeably at school since everyone noticed that Lunella was mysteriously absent. That sparked some theories among the students and staff alike ranging from maybe Lunella is Moon Girl to maybe Lunella got kidnapped and held for ransom by some random supervillain and that wouldn't be too far off considering that in Moon Girl's absence there was a considerable rise in crime ranging from classic bank robberies to some of the more serious crimes such as illegal racing which led to several car accidents and some turf wars between a few violent street gangs who've been building in secret and were waiting for the right moment to strike.

Moon Girl's absence was the perfect moment to turn the LES into a warzone and an all-around whirlwind of crime.

What made this even worst was that some of Moon Girl's previous supervillains ranging from the married pair known as the Muzzlers to some of the villains who attacked the roller rink that one time when Lunella was in charge of it were popping up again and suppling the gangs with weapons based on their gimmicks.

But it wasn't bad as Casey and the Lafayette family quickly rallied the town together for a town meeting in an attempt to stop these crimes but considering that most of them weren't trained in combat but were brave or were just scared for their lives and didn't want to risk themselves despite the situation.

Although Casey did point out that they did help Moon Girl stop Aftershock after the female hero was framed for the blackouts that the villain was causing at the time, not to mention all of the times that the heroine had saved their lives without asking for anything in return so in a way, the Lower East Side owed her.

This managed to inspire the townspeople to rally together in order to quell this violent storm before it spills out to the rest of New York.

Luckily, this recent crime wave caught the attention of some of the superpowered individuals who were not exactly interested in the chaos and wanted to put a stop to it but didn't know how such as Abyss (who decided to no longer be a supervillain after she told her mother that she wanted out), the giant ape known as Torg (who Devil had befriended during the former's rampage due to their shared insecurities about being big and being seen as destructive monsters) and Syphonator (who despite being an enemy of Moon Girl in the past had recently been trying to use his powers for the benefit of others). The recent town meeting was their beacon and that extra back up was very appreciated as the people were going to need all the help they could get if they were to do something about this.

As the townsfolk, led by Adria and Casey and of course Devil were working to dismantle the street gangs and take back their hometown, they all knew that this wasn't going to be easy, but the people were willing to take those kinds of risks if they meant that they could sleep peacefully again.

With Pops' amazing craftsmen skills and Mimi's technical expertise, the townsfolk were ready to fight back against the technology weaponized street gangs and take back the L.E.S with their own technologized weapons!

It took approximately 3 days. 3 days of fighting and tons of property damage and many people getting injured but it was worth it as they managed to take back the streets of the L.E.S. The president of L.E.S' Borough Council was leading the cleanup effort as the police were escorting the supervillains who were abiding the turf war between the street gangs to the big house.

Back at the Enclave's hideout, the time had come.

Time to test the portal generator.

Time to get Lunella back!

"All right everyone, hold onto something." Mimi ordered everyone. "This is gonna be dangerous."

Pops, Adria, James and Casey quickly clutched onto Devil's body as the dinosaur braced himself for whatever was going to happen.

"Here we go!" Mimi said as she plugged in one last plug into the outlet and walked over to a lever before she pulled it down.

Electricity had sparked from the machine as the room was starting to shake. The floors and walls were beginning to form noticeable cracks and the dinosaur was nearly losing his balance.

A small blue colored portal was beginning to form... and expand at an alarming rate. And what make it's even more problematic was that it starting to grow unstable.

"Mom, you've got to shut this machine down!" Adria shouted over the noise the portal generator was making.

"I can't sweetie!" Mimi shouted over the noise. "We've come too far to stop now!"

"Mimi, that machine is overheating!" James shouted. "If you don't shut it down, who knows what'll happen!"

"But what about Lunella?!" Mimi asked. "If I shut this down, we're never going to get her back!"

"Mimi, I know you want Lunella back!" Casey shouted as she held onto Devil's tail with all her strength. "We all do but is it worth it risking our lives?! Aside from that, you're starting to sound like that crazy scientist who me, Devil and Lunella risked our butts trying to save you from!"

"Casey's right!" Pops agreed, holding onto one of Devil's legs with all his might. "Would our grandbaby want this?!"

Mimi's eyes widened in surprise. Was that true? Was she really starting to sound like her old science partner? That couldn't be true, couldn't it? She didn't think so, Maris took his ambition and lust for attention too far and ended paying for it.

Looking towards the portal which was getting even more unstable by the second and then looked at her family, Casey and Devil who were all bracing themselves for whatever happens next. It was only that she realized it.

With a heavy heart, she turned off the machine... but not before something came through it.

Or rather, someone.

It was a young girl. A young human girl who managed to get through it before the portal disappeared behind her.

But it wasn't just any human girl.

That torn up blue suit...

Those glasses, though there were some small yet noticeable cracks in the lenses, only one person they knew wore those prescribed glasses...

That indistinguishable large bushy pom-pom hairstyle, which had some sticky tree sap in some parts of it and some of the hair looked to be torn out in some places...

Breathing heavily, the girl looked at the people (and Devil) in the room.

Casey covered her mouth in shock...

Mimi and the rest of the family couldn't believe it either...

Devil let out some noises in surprise...

Could it be...

"Lunella?" Adria asked.

Tears streamed down the young girl's face. "Mom, D-Dad, Pops?" She then wiped the tears from her face. "Mimi, C-Casey, Devil?!"

"LUNELLA!" Everyone shouted as tears streamed down their faces too as they rushed to embrace her with the young scientist doing the same.

Her mother was the first to hug her baby as she peppered her face, which was had two cuts anda few spots of mud, with kisses. "Lunella, I'm so glad you're okay!"

"Hey Mom, guess you found out about everything right?" The young heroine said.

"Yeah, we did." Pops said as he embraced his granddaughter.

"It was rather shocking to hear from mom and Casey." James said as he joined in on the group hug.

The room shook as Devil ran towards the family.

"Devil!" Lunella said as she grabbed onto the T-Rex's face in a hug as heart-shaped emojis appeared. "Oh, my goodness, I missed you so much, you big, dumb, lizard!"

"Lunella!" said Casey as she practically tackled her best friend to the ground into a hug as tears streamed down the girl's face.

"Casey!" Luna began as she looked up at her BFF's tear ridden face despite her relived smile. "I missed you-MMPH!"

Lunella's eyes widened in surprise as she felt bestie plant her lips onto her own. This sudden act of affection caused the young superheroine's brain to nearly short-circuit from emotional overload.

It didn't take someone who had the biggest brain on the planet to realize why Casey was kissing her. But there was one question she needed to ask.

Was she kissing her because she missed her or was it because she loved her beyond the boundaries of platonic friendship.

She asked her that afterwards right now she was going to enjoy this kiss in spite of whatever implications behind it were as she wrapped her rms around Casey's head and deepened the kiss.

After what seemed to be forever, Casey pulled back as she got off the young scientist.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have done that!" The energetic girl said as her cheeks went red.

"No, no, Casey! You don't have to apologize." Lunella said as her cheeks were red too. "It felt... nice." She then decided to ask. "But I got to ask, was that kiss platonic or-"

"I did it because I love you Lu!" Casey shouted as she poured out her feelings. "Over the weeks you were gone, I took some time to reflect on our friendship. I've realized that I've been developing these feelings for a while now! I think it was ever since I first laid eyes on you at lunch!"

The current Moon Girl blushed upon that memory. She remembered that day well. It was during lunch and Casey was doing a video when the jock Eduardo disliked it. Casey then saw Lunella looking at her... which upon being noticed had caused the young to panic and accidently spill her lunch all over the books she was reading.

"I love you too Case." Lunella said, as she held her bestie's hands. "I feel the same way too."

"Really?" Casey asked hopefully.

"Yeah." Her beastie said. "While I was lost in that other world, while I was scared that I was never going to see my family or Devil again I was even more scared of never seeing you again! My love for you, Devil, my family and just about everyone else in the LES gave me the strength to adapt and survive in that place and get home!"

The two girls then hugged each other again before luunella's eyes widen in shock.

"Wait, how's the LES? How many supervillains are wrecking it? How many people are hurt?!" she rapidly asked.

"Whoa, chill Lu!" Casey calmed her love down. "It's alright! There was a crime spree but we and the people came together and stopped it!"

"For real?" said the young genius.

"Yep!" Mimi said. "It wasn't easy though."

"But we managed." Pops said.

Another group hug commenced, it felt so nice. Lunella was back in her own dimension, the crime wave was quelled, and Casey and Lunella had confessed their feelings to each other (and even had their first kiss to boot).

All was right in the world.
