Harry, the new Deputy Minister of Magic, a position that had been created solely for him, was jealous. It didn't happen often, not at all, and sometimes he wondered if those feelings were his own. His connection with Elaine made him feel what she felt, or see what she saw, especially when he was asleep. At this specific point in time, however, he was certain that it wasn't their connection that was fueling the flames of jealousy within him. It was a series of blokes that constantly found their way to the Minister's office. Elaine's office.

It wasn't that unusual, not when one stopped to consider that Elaine really had gotten her wish to come true. She was the Minister of Magic, and with that position, she had power beyond belief. Whatsoever she wished to do, she did. Be it the creation of a new position or the removal of those she deemed corrupt in their current positions. It should have come as no surprise that, on account of her newfound power, many would try and get close to her. That was what a majority of those blokes were trying to do despite his presence too, but he needn't fret. Elaine was, in a very literal sense, connected to him beyond that of a typical relationship.

One could also see how uninterested she was in every person that tried to act even a touch flirtatiously with her. Sometimes, she'd even send them out and demand a new person speak with her. He thought that might be for his benefit until he spied, one day, the look of annoyance that flashed across her face at a most-aggressive and flirtatious man. If he had thought he had any chance with Elaine, he had been very wrong. There was nothing he could hope to do to win her over.

All of that, for whatever reason, didn't seem to matter to Harry's mind even if he recollected it clearly. Perhaps it was a primal way of thinking, maybe he was more susceptible to jealousy than he had first realised, or most of all, there was a chance that he was just as crazy as Elaine could be. He would believe that. His eyes watched on as Elaine interacted with a man that was doing his damndest to speak with her whilst checking her out, and the more that he looked up and down her figure, the more annoyed Harry grew.

When Elaine finally waved him away and took the papers from his hands without so much as a brush of contact, he smirked. The man seemed thoroughly scolded and nervous as he left, and when he caught sight of his eyes, Harry grinned and waved goodbye to the man. Call it vindictive or petty, Harry didn't care, Elaine was his. Nothing that mad tried or did would change that, and after being sent away without any care from Elaine, Harry hoped that would register in the thick bloke's head. If it didn't, he might have to ensure that it did in a more practical sense. Maybe he could have Aster and the new team that they'd put under the direct control of the Ministry teach that lesson.

Harry couldn't help but smile at the thought despite the innocence — in a way — of the man. He had become more like Elaine in his possessiveness and jealousy, and she'd become more like him. They met in the middle from two far-and-away extremes… it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise if either were volatile on occasion. If anything, the world was lucky that neither had snapped. If one did, the other would follow or have to cage up their lover. He doubted if he were the one that lost his mind that Elaine would trap him anywhere, she'd probably enjoy it.

"I can feel what you feel," Elaine quipped from her seat, her eyes set on the papers she'd taken from the man. "It's very enjoyable."

Harry's eye twitched as he snorted. "Enjoyable for you, maybe. How would you like it if I had a bunch of witches at my desk throughout the entirety of the day — they'd be flirting with me, just as those blokes do with you."

"Please," Elaine said with a roll of her eyes as if that didn't matter to her in the slightest. Her next words proved that thought wrong. "If one so much as dared to make a move on you whilst I'm nearby, I'd have her sent away. She'd lose her job, or maybe I'd send her to another country, never to return again until after we've had our first child."

That sounds more like her… I hope that doesn't sound like me.

"So you do know how I feel when all of them flirt with you as that bloke just did," Harry pointed out, a brow raised as he set down his quill. It was maddening to know that she did, in fact, know how he felt. He reckoned she was teasing him by allowing them to meet with her rather than any of their secretaries or advisors.

"I know how you feel as soon as you know how you feel," Elaine said as she finally mimicked his actions and looked over at him. "I'm sure you know that. I've been reading you as if you were a book since first we met. You're my equal, as I've said many a time. You can't keep me out of your mind anymore than I can keep you out of mine."

She wasn't wrong. His thoughts increasingly wandered towards Elaine, and he knew for a fact that she thought of him nearly one hundred per cent of the day since she'd said as much previously.

Finally, he huffed, checked the clock, and pushed away his work. "Let's head home."

At that, Elaine arched a brow, amused. "We typically stay for another hour. What's got you ready to leave in such a hurry?" the knowing look on her face when she finished told him that she already knew, and as such, he remained silent. Even as he stood up and moved towards her.

When he made it to where Elaine was seated, he extended a hand. Elaine took it in under a second and stood up, her eyes flashing with lust and love, a combination that was more and more common when the two were near one another. Ever since they'd laid together, after so much time teasing and snogging, those two emotions ran deeper than either had ever thought possible.

"Lead the way, lover," Elaine said, amusement still in her tone even as her tongue came out to slide across her bottom lip.

Harry did just that, and in under a minute, the two found themselves back in the parlour room of their house.

"I've found my greatest joy," Elaine said out of the blue, as the two straightened out their clothing and began to walk towards the garden.

Harry looked over at her. "Yeah?" he asked. "What's that?"

"Your jealous, possessive nature. It mimics my own. I had thought you didn't have it in you, but after this day, when you've finally allowed your mind to do as it wished, I've found that couldn't be farther from the truth," Elaine squirmed as she walked, it looked as if a chill had gone through her, but he knew better. "It's devilishly delightful."

He snorted.

"I'm glad you find it amusing."

She shook her head. "Not amusing," she said. "Rather, I believe the word perfect, or fitting, or a mixture. As enjoyable as it is, I'll say what will put your mind at ease — you don't have to worry. Until you arrived, I found nothing attractive. Not one wizard or witch had ever garnered my attention in a romantic fashion, and that still rings true to this very hour, save for you."

In response to those words and the way she caressed up and down his arm, Harry smiled happily, victoriously, even. There was no embarrassment or blush, not from him, not anymore. Perhaps when first they snogged and began to get familiar with one another, it would have been present, but they'd seen one another at their weakest points or in the nude; nothing so simple as those words could see him turn into a blushing boy again.

"Good," Harry settled on saying.

"Good?" Elaine asked, sensing that there was more, and she was right.

"Good," Harry said again as he lowered his hand to squeeze at her rear, prompting her to bite her lip alluringly. "It means I won't have to send all of those blokes packing. Instead, I'll just have our advisors or secretaries act as intermediaries if they can't control themselves. Aster, the others that we know aren't trying to shag you with their eyes, we'll let them in."

Elaine wiggled her rear when his hand was slow to retreat, and with her eyes flashing in much the same way as they had back at the Ministry, Harry felt as if they'd have more playtime together soon; he couldn't resist her, nor she, him.

"I've unleashed a monster that I don't want to lock away," Elaine said teasingly, as she pressed herself more forcefully into his side. "I think you've condemned yourself, darling."

Harry shook his head as they pushed through the doors that led them outdoors. Their flowers were in full bloom, the myriad of scents washed over them and the gazebo that sat in the middle of it all was ripe for their supper. "I think it's you that's condemned yourself. As you said, you've unleashed a monster."

"Oh?"

Harry nodded. "It won't be caged."

Elaine's smile was filled with all manners of intentions that needn't be described. "That's very good to hear."

And again, as had happened when the two arrived back home, they lept at one another. Their lips met in a ferocious battle for dominance that went on without a victor whilst their hands roamed and roamed, groping and grabbing whatsoever they could. As had happened previously, there was no slow, intimate affection. They were as animals, and their minds loved every moment of it.

Together, the two sat with their bare backs against the soft, lush grass as the earlier-mentioned scents of flowers washed over them. They had shared a meal in the gazebo after a trifle on a couch, and now, as night came, their hands were entwined as they watched the stars dance above them.

It made for a beautiful view, and a wonderful end to an evening that, only earlier, had filled Harry with annoyance as stress from his position mounted. He wished that they could always act young and that the stress from their work would cease just as equally as he wished those that wish to drive them apart, would stop.

"I love you," Elaine said, breaking the silence that had reigned supreme for nearly ten minutes, the two simply content with one another's presence below the stars.

Harry turned his head to look at Elaine. In the pale moonlight, her skin, pale as ever, shined. When she turned to look at him, and her dark eyes and darker hair spilt behind her, he thought at that moment, she had to be some sort of angel or devil. No woman could look half as perfect as she did, especially sans beauty products.

"You flatterer," Elaine said as her free hand began to trace shapes with a fleeting touch across his chest. "Are you not satisfied this day?"

He shook his head. How could he be with so gorgeous a vision before him, a vision that was all his, forever?

"Not even remotely," he answered.

Elaine's lips twitched upwards as she rolled atop him, her entire front awash with the aforementioned moonlight, granting her a glow that was almost otherworldly. Would that he could remember it forever — a pensive; he would seek out a pensive when time worked for him rather than against him.

"I'll fix that."

And by Merlin, did she.
