Point Place, Wisconsin

May 16th, 1976

6:44am

That morning the sun shone through Maggie's window; the birds were chirping quietly. She was sleeping peacefully. When the clock stroked 6:45am, WFPP came blasting through her radio with the volume turned up to the ear bleeding setting. Maggie awoke with a start and jumped in alarm. She nearly fell off her bed and rushed to turn the damn thing off.

Maggie Forman rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. When she glanced up at herself in the mirror she had in the corner of her room, she looked like a frazzled mess. It's too damn early for this crap. She couldn't say for sure if she deserved this or not. Maggie and Eric constantly pranked each other to get back at each other for whatever they did previously. They had lost track of the score.

Eric may be scrawny but he could be very tactful on occasion. The skinny dork was going to pay…They were twins but they sure didn't look the part. Maggie had dirty blond hair where Eric had chestnut brown. Where Eric had soft green eyes, she and her older sister Laurie had their parents' light blue color.

Maggie summoned the energy to get out of bed and got ready for school. She got dressed in a Creedence t-shirt with a pair of jeans and combed through her hair. Her homework and books were scattered on her desk that was propped up against the wall facing her window. Her bedroom window had the perfect view. The house was on the street corner so, she could see out in two directions.

Maggie loved her bedroom; it was right at the end of the hallway across from the bathroom. Laurie's old bedroom was right next to hers, when they were little, they would talk to each other through the air-vent. She had her own closet; it was slightly bigger than Eric's. Band posters and pictures littered all over her dark blue walls. Her Uncle Jerry, gave her a guitar for her 8th birthday, which she had propped up against next to her stand up mirror.

When she finished finding her freshmen biology book, Maggie grabbed her backpack and stuffed her books into it and headed down the hallway and down the stairs. Breakfast was the usual, Mother singing along with the radio while cooking and Father reading the morning paper at the table. She sat down with her father at the table in the corner of the kitchen. Eric wasn't at breakfast. He must be finishing up homework in the basement, she thought. That or he was avoiding me for that alarm clock incident…that little twerp.

She finished her pancakes and left for school after saying her goodbyes. Without a car she had to wait for the school bus on the street corner down the street. She didn't bother waiting for her brother. Donna joined her as she passed her house like every morning. They strolled down the street to the school bus pick up spot.

Today, Donna had her red hair in a long braid down her back. Just like herself, Donna was a tomboy. Not that they didn't wear dresses but she preferred jeans over skirts. Donna herself was wearing one of her Point Place green and gray softball tees. They were the Point Place, Vikings, smack dab in the middle of Packer country.

It was the middle of May now and it was getting warmer by the day. School was starting to wrap up but not fast enough. Freshman year seemed to never end and now that the end was less than month away it seemed surreal.

"So, how are we going to get to the concert?" Donna asked.

"I don't know. I was thinking about asking for the cruiser," She contemplated. "We can't all fit in the Toyota,"

"I can't ask my parents. My Dad has to close the store this Friday," Donna complained.

"Eric said he would ask Dad for the cruiser but he hasn't done it yet. I wish he would man up and do it already," Maggie sighed. "He's such a little girl sometimes,"

"Come on he's manly," Donna argued. Maggie gave her a look but she didn't say anything about it. Donna had a big ole crush on her brother. They were halfway down the street to the corner when a gremlin drove up to them. It was Donnie Burk's blue gremlin that parked beside them, interrupting their conversation. This day keeps getting better and better…

"Hey Mags," Donnie had rolled the window down and leaned over to her revealing his freckled face. Donnie had longer curly dark chestnut hair that reached almost to his shoulders. He had a broad face with blue sharp eyes that were made for reading music sheets. His gremlin was Donnie's prize possession next to his bassist guitar which was cased and sitting next to him.

"Hey Donnie," She sighed.

"Donna," Donnie smiled from inside the car.

"Yeah, hey Donnie," Donna smiled awkwardly.

"Maggie, it's been a while since we've heard from you," Donnie shifted in his seat. She knew where this was going. "Did you two want a ride to school?"

"No, Donnie were good," Maggie retorted. "Drive along now,"

"Come on listen, the band wants to get back together," Donnie reasoned. "We want you to play with us again,"

"Donnie—" She frowned and tried not to picture all of those good sessions they had together.

"Come on, Maggie you loved the band. Plus, we don't get a lot done without you," Donnie reasoned. Maggie smiled to herself. It was true, Thomas Ashley, the keyboardist and drummer and Louis Anderson the rhythm guitarist, were two of the most obnoxiously funny people she knew but they were both easily distracted.

"How are the guys?" She asked.

"They keep getting into fights about what to name the band now," Burk complained, shaking his head. "Just think about it, alright," He smiled as he shifted the car back into drive and drove off.

"You, okay?" Donna asked knowing what her thoughts were. After lead singer Peter O'Neil left the band, Maggie had left as well. That was back in January. It seemed so long ago now…

"Yeah, I'm good," She took a breath and sure enough the bus arrived. They were climbing up the bus steps when she saw her brother running down the street to catch the bus. The three of them chatted on the way to school. Donna didn't bring up Donnie which she was grateful for. She would rather forget the whole incident. But how could she?

To say Maggie was into music was an understatement. At a young age her uncle Jerry gave her guitar lessons, and ever since then she was hooked. She played whenever she could and started to play drums as well. At the start of freshman year, she joined her boyfriend's band. She loved that band and they loved her.

Maggie decided that she wouldn't think about it for the rest of the day. I will completely not think about Peter for rest of the day…

The outside of Jimmy Reid's locker was much better than the inside of Jimmy Reid's locker. He went over the previous events in his mind that led him to this point. Perhaps he wasn't aware of some sort social etiquette and he had angered the sports team. He had been trying to navigate his way to biology class when he encountered a group of jocks. They had asked if he had wanted to "hang out" which had resulted in what American's call a "wedgie" and then he was shoved into Jimmy Reid's locker. Perhaps he should take this instance up with the guidance counselor. Mrs. McCall has been very helpful since his arrival. Plus…she is a total "babe" as they say in America, he thought.

Through the tiny gaps of the locker, he could make out other American kids walking his way down the hall. This was his only hope of escape.

"Help! Please American's help me!"

"What's that?" He heard a female voice.

"I am here in Jimmy Reid's locker!" He cried out. The group of teens stopped in front of his locker.

"Jimmy Reid's locker?"

"It's this one,"

"Quick, what's the combo?"

"Oh! I know! Try 19-36-14," He heard some clicking and soon the American's had set him free and opened the locker. He was met by four teenage American heroes.

"Hello," He smiled at his new friends.

"Who the hell are you?" The student who had opened his locker curtly asked. His eyes were covered by a pair of sunglasses even though they were indoors. The boy let him crawl out of the locker, he stumbled as he got out.

"I am the new foreign exchange student," He straightened up and tried his best to annunciate. His English was not so good yet.

"His accent his funny!" One of the male students had stopped dribbling the dodgeball he had and made to throw it at him.

"Leave him alone, Kelso!" The blonde girl interjected. She is a thing made of beauty…

"Yeah man! Listen if anybody tries and do this to you again, just come find me," The boy who wore the shades nodded to him.

"Thank you," He smiled. This was one of the best things to happen to him since his arrival. I can't mess up my relationship with my bestest friends! "You're my best friend. Let us hold hands,"

"Ahh, no," The boy said dismissively, he turned to leave with his friends. Fez had no choice but to follow them. He kept following them for a few steps before His hero sighed and turned around to him and spoke. "I'm Hyde,"

He smiled as he eagerly shook Hyde's hand. The blonde goddess also started to introduce herself and the other one that looks like her. "And I'm Maggie and this is my brother Eric,"

"Oh, you're the one that loves Donna," He was happy with himself of the information he has accumulated over his short time here.

"I do not!" Eric complained.

"Well, my name is…" He decided to pronounce his name as slowly and as carefully as he could but the school bell rang.

"Umm…could you repeat that?" Maggie asked him not unkindly.

"Yeah, I'm not going to remember that," Hyde stated as he shook his head.

"Let's call him Captain Poo-face," Kelso laughed. Hyde smirked, stole Kelso's dodgeball and threw at him which resulted in a fight.

"That's Kelso of course…" Maggie shook her head dismissively.

"Ow! My eye!" Kelso was losing.

Eric sighed as they watched them rolling around on the school floor. "This happens a lot…"

"I'm sure it does…" He stated.

"Listen, you need a cool nick name…you know something that will stand out," Maggie reckoned.

"What about Fez?" Eric contemplated. "You know for short…"

"I like that!" That name sounded good to him. A new American name for a new place. Kelso gave in and tapped out, and both Hyde and Kelso stood up, brushed themselves off and straighten their shirts.

"Kelso, how'd you know about the combo?" Maggie asked.

"Jimmy's girlfriend told me. He has the sexiest combination in school," Kelso laughed.

"Ohhh," Eric nodded. The other's laughed and he decided to laugh as well even though he didn't get it. "Wait…Fez you got it, right?"

"Ahh…I got what?"

"Stick with us, man," Hyde smirked and straighten his shades.
