Roman, Seth and Dean entered the dining room where a lot of other people were already sitting and digging into dinner. Shawn was sitting at the head of the table and looking at everyone he was in charge of. He looked up and furrowed his brows when a man came rushing in. Roman, Seth and Dean looked at the man. Another guard named Dominik who was supposed to have the shift in that moment.
"What is it, Dom?" Shawn asked.
"We can't find her," Dominik said.
"What?" Shawn stood up. "You lost her?"
"One moment she was there and suddenly she was gone. She somehow got the collar off," Dominik said. "Finn and Damian are looking for her but I figured the right thing was for you to know."
"Find her!" Shawn shouted. "Everyone out. No dinner for anyone until she's found!"
Roman, Seth and Dean got up like everyone else. They discreetly sniffed the air to catch her scent that they had sniffed out earlier when they went to her room to meet her. It hit them all at the same time. Her scent was mixed with food and came in the direction of the kitchen. They went there and was met with the sight of her sitting by the table eating dinner alone.
"You're welcome to join me," Lumina said.
"Everyone's out there searching for you," Seth said.
"I know," Lumina shrugged. "I didn't feel like dining in a big group tonight. Please, sit. Tell me all your secrets and weaknesses so I can use them against you in the future."
"You're wonderful," Dean chuckled.
"Should we tell Shawn we found her?" Seth asked.
"In a minute," Roman said. "Let's sit down and talk."
They sat down and looked at her eating. All four of them ignored the casual shoutings from people running around looking for her.
"Do you know why you have to guard me?" Lumina asked.
"We know," Seth said. "Do you know?"
She put the half eaten chicken leg down on her plate and dried her fingers in a napkin.
"When I turn 30, I will transform. They're keeping me locked up here to avoid me escaping before that day. If I'm out in the real world, I will find my pack, and together we will bring down a lot of bad people. People like Shawn. People in control of things, places and other people that they should never be in control of. I'm the force to fear. My anger and strength are supposedly able to reach never seen before heights that everyone fears. If I get out, they're fucked. If I got backup, they're double fucked. But I can be controlled if they keep me here and torture me until I break, but not before I've transformed," Lumina said. "Legend has it that the hounds of justice will arrive to protect me. You're not only supposed to guard me. You're also supposed to guard the mansion so no one makes it in here to save me."
They all heard footsteps run towards the kitchen. Dominik came barging out there, heaving for air. His eyes went from Lumina to the new team of guards.
"We found her," Roman said.
"She's in the kitchen!" Dominik yelled.
Lumina smiled at the three men at the table and stood up.
"I'm done eating. I wanna go back to my room," Lumina said. "If you three wanna continue this talk later, you know where to find me."
"Finn!" Dominik yelled.
"Coming!" Finn yelled back.
Finn came running out in the kitchen with the collar and leash in his hands. He put the collar on Lumina.
"Heads are about to roll," Lumina smirked. "You've lost me too many times. I hear Shawn is already looking for a new team to replace you."
"Shut up!" Finn growled.
Finn pulled on the leash to drag Lumina with them. She winked at the three men still sitting at the table and walked away with Dominik and Finn.
"I think we better get back into the dining room or Shawn will ask questions," Roman said.
"He's gonna ask them anyway," Dean grabbed a handful of nuts from the table. "But yeah, let him ask. We know the answers to give."
Dean stood up while throwing some nuts into his mouth. Roman and Seth got up too. They couldn't make a show out of themselves on their first day there. They needed to play ball and eat in the dining room with everyone else.
"Midnight," Seth said lowly. "She gave us an invitation and we're gonna take it."
