Earlier while Lapis was headed to Beacon
Four women stood around a table. One had shoulder blade length black hair with a red gradient towards the ends and silver eyes, another had naturally white hair to her middle back and light blue eyes, the third had black hair to her shoulders, yellow eyes, and cat ears on her head, and the last woman had long blonde hair and lilac eyes. These women were Ruby Rose, head of the Black Rose gang, Weiss Schnee, President and CEO of the Schnee Dust Company, Blake Belladonna, High Leader of the White Fang, and Yang Xiao Long, Commanding Officer of the freelance army, The Burning Suns. Ruby and Weiss were a married couple as were Blake and Yang.
"What's this about, Rubes?" Yang asked her younger sister.
Ruby pulled out a tablet and showed her little family the footage of Lapis fighting Roman and the thugs with him. Of all four women, Blake was furious.
"She's still here in Vale?!" She asked.
"Yes, and she's already causing trouble for my organization." Ruby said. "She's likely gotten that fool's attention by this action she carried out last night and likely invited to attend Beacon."
"We should inform our operative in her year to keep an eye on her." Weiss said.
"I was thinking the same thing, babe." Ruby said.
Weiss smiled softly.
"I think we need to have a watch party in Weiss's office tomorrow so we can gauge others in her year. We may spot some potential recruits for our organizations." Yang said.
The other ladies agreed.
"Anything else to discuss?" Ruby asked.
The other three shook their heads. They'd already discussed profits and budgets before moving to the topic of Lapis.
"Then I'd say we're adjourned for the day. Till tomorrow, ladies."
With that, the four left. Blake snuck away from her wife.
Now
The ships docked at Beacon Academy and students stepped off them. Lapis marvelled at the sight of her family's alma mater.
"The Lazuli legacy lives on. I'm now a student at Beacon." She thought to herself then felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see a girl with pink and brown hair and the same colored eyes looking up at her excitedly.
"And who might you be?" Lapis asked.
"People just call me either Neopolitan or Neo. It's such an honor to meet you, Lapis! I'm one of your biggest fans! You're both my hero and inspiration to become a Huntress!" The smaller girl's Scroll said.
"She's a mute." Lapis thought then have a genuine smile. "Well, I'm honored, Neo. I think you'll make a fierce Huntress." She said aloud as the two shook hands.
By now, Neo was bouncing on her feet with excitement. "Is it true you took down a Lancer hive with help from the Burning Suns?"
Lapis tensed a bit but nodded. "Yeah."
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay. I just don't like to talk about Yang Xiao Long or her little 'freelance army'."
Neo nodded in understanding. "Sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up."
Lapis shook her head. "Don't worry about it, Neo. It takes a lot for someone I just met to bother me." She assured the smaller girl with a smile, causing the latter to smile back and nod back.
A shy girl with shark teeth walked by Lapis as the latter spoke with Neo. This was Onyx Branwen, daughter of Qrow Branwen, who had recently learned of her existence.
Like Blake and Lapis, Onyx was a Faunus, someone who looked human, but was easy to distinguish from a human because of the animalistic trait they had.
Onyx was trying to avoid people because she wasn't a people person. She saw Lapis and Neo walking in while talking.
"Oh my gods! The Defender of the Four Kingdoms!" A random first year said excitedly, getting others to look towards Lapis. Some were whispering in awe about some things she'd done.
While most everyone was excited to have a celebrity amongst them, one masked her excitement with a slightly irritated expression. This girl had mint green hair with two long locks, one on each side.
This was Emerald Sustrai, a girl who had a reputation across the world for being stealthy.
She didn't have anything against Lapis. She was as much a fan as everyone else in their year. She just couldn't understand why people were so happy all the time. She found it a bit nauseating. Still, she'd come to Beacon to get over being antisocial and she had to start somewhere. So she made the choice to walk over to Lapis and Neo with a smile.
"Hi. I'm Emerald. I'm a fan of the Defender of the Four Kingdoms." She said to Lapis, who extended her hand.
Lapis smiled at Emerald. "Nice to meet you, Emerald." She said then shook hands with the red eyed girl.
Four more walked to the trio, two humans and two Faunus. One human had ashen black hair to her shoulders and it was styled to cover her left eye while the other had gray hair on his head and grey eyes. One of the Faunus had dark red hair, brown eyes, a cheetah's tail, and tattoos of a cheetah's spots from her face to her hands and feet. The other Faunus had magenta and cyan hair and eyes of the same color, but the cyan eye was where the magenta color was and the magenta eye was where the cyan color was. Her Faunus trait was her black feathered wings on her back.
These four introduced themselves as Cinder Fall, Mercury Black, Ember Gold, and Magenta Magnolia respectively.
Lapis noticed Magenta using sign language as she spoke and used sign language while speaking in response to the deaf Faunus.
Selene cleared her throat then everyone turned to the stage. "I'll be brief. You've come here for knowledge, and further perfect your skills to dedicate yourselves to protecting the people. But all I see is wasted energy, the need for purpose and direction. You believe knowledge will help you be free of this, but while here, you'll find that knowledge will only take you so far. The first step is up to you." She said, Magenta looking at a man next to Selene who translated the speech
"Well, that was weird." Ember said.
"Almost like she was somewhere else." Cinder said.
After that, the students left the amphitheater to explore the grounds.
