"So whadda ya say, Shadow?" Sonic asked eagerly. "Will ya do it?"

Shadow frowned irritably at his rival. The blue hedgehog had approached the dark one to request his assistance with something. Having just heard what Sonic wanted him to do, Shadow shook his head fiercely.

"No!" Shadow answered bluntly. "No way! Absolutely not! It's out of the question, Sonic!"

"Aww c'mon, Shadow!" Sonic insisted. "Help a fellow hedgehog out!"

"No, no, no, a million times no!" Shadow hissed. "I'm not doing anyone no favours. Especially not you, Sonic!"

A sweat drop ran down the side of Sonic's head. He realised he should've known Shadow would be reluctant to help him with what he had asked of him. It was clear his stubborn rival was going to need some coaxing.

"C'mon, why don't ya wanna do this?!" Sonic asked. "You're Shadow the Hedgehog!"

"Exactly! I'm the Ultimate Life Form! I don't need to waste my time on juvenile stuff which you and your friends get involved in. Find someone else to do it!"

"There's no one else who can do this! It has to be you, Shadow!"

"Then that's your problem, Sonic!" Shadow folded his arms and narrowed his eyes. "I'm not doing it."

Sonic sighed. Getting Shadow to cooperate and assist him was no easy task. Only when something suited him did the dark hedgehog get involved in other people's business. The supersonic hero was not willing to give up, however, knowing that what was at stake was riding on Shadow's furry shoulders.

"Shadow… The whole world is depending on you…"

Shadow blinked, his ears twitching at what Sonic had brought up. "The whole world?"

"Yeah… They're eagerly anticipating your role in this… You can't tell me you wanna let everyone across the globe down…"

Shadow turned away, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Well…"

"If you don't wanna do this for me, fine," Sonic went on. "But won't you do this for the whole world?"

"The whole world…" Shadow murmured again.

"The whole world needs you, buddy…" Sonic managed a small smile. "The whole world needs Shadow the Hedgehog…"

Shadow turned to face his fellow hedgehog. He could tell from how serious Sonic was sounding that he was being sincere. The dark hedgehog's frown softened slightly. He was recalling how Maria had always wanted him to help other people.

If the whole world was depending on him, then he had to live up to the promise of his dear old friend by giving everyone across the globe what they wanted.

"Okay," Shadow muttered. "I'll do it!"

"Alright!" Sonic cheered loudly, highly elated to have the dark hedgehog involved with what needed doing. "You won't regret this, Shadow!"

"I'd better not, Sonic…" Shadow mumbled as he followed the blue hedgehog to the Hollywood studios where production for his latest motion picture was about to begin.

With Shadow in my next movie, all my fans around the world will be guaranteed to come see it, the supersonic hero-turned-film star thought enthusiastically. Move over, Mario! Sonic is about to reclaim the number one spot at the box office!
