the next morning red smoke still filled the sky as the whole of the candy kingdom was gathered to watch the burning of Marceline, who was tied to a pure. gumbald, standing next to her, read a scroll in his hands. the prisoner Marceline has been found guilty of entering the candy kingdom illegally, guilty of preforming demonic spells, and gullilty of the crime of disobeying the minister of justice. the sentence is death !, he took a fiery torch from the banana guard next to him and turned to Marceline. the time has come vampire, as you now stand upon the brink of the abyss, but even now it is not too late as I can still save you, I can save you from the flames of this world and the next, last chance Marceline, choose me or the fire, Gumbald said. Marceline spat in Gumbald's face, I would rather burn than be with you ! she said, then you will !, Gumbald replied,

the vampire Marceline has refused to recant ! this evil demon has put the soul of every citizen of the candy kingdom in mortal danger ! meanwhile up in the belltower glassboy is chained up to the wall. he peers over the ledge. for justice !, for our kingdom !, and for her own salvation, it is my sacred duty to send this unholy demon back where she belongs, Gumbald shouts as he lights the straw at Marceline's feet. NOOO !!! glassboy screamed as he pulled at the chains until they broke, ripping out a part of the wall. he then grabbed a rope, tied it around a part in of the balcony, and swung down to Marceline's platform. he then Untied her and swung back up to the balcony. SANCTUARY !!! he shouted holding Marceline up in the air as the candy citizens cheered.

guards seize the castle ! Gumbald ordered. glassboy placed Marceline on his bed. don't worry you'll be safe here he said. he then went to the storage room and hurled a giant wooden beam of onto the street below. guards pick up that beam break down the door ! gumbald ordered. Finn who was locked in a cage managed to grab the keys and break free. as the guards began to break down the castle doors, he jumped up onto the top of the cage and began to speak to the citizens. candy citizens ! gumbald has persecuted our people ! ransacked our kingdom ! and now he has declared war on the candy castle itself ! will we allow it !?, no ! the citizens shouted as they began to release the rest of the nightosphere citizens and fight back against the banana guards.

after many attempts to stop them, the guards finally knocked down the castle doors, glassboy noticed a pot of molten lava. he tied a rope to it and pulled it hard until it poured out of the balcony and down onto the streets below. as the banana guards dodged it, Gumbald managed to successfully get into the castle. he walked up the stairs to see his niece coming towards him. gumbald have you gone mad !?, I will not tolerate this assault on my castle !, princess bubblegum said, shut up niece ! he said as he threw her to the ground. glassboy and I have unfinished business to attend to, and this time you will not get in the way, he said, he locked the stairway door and walked up to the belltower.

we've done it Marceline ! we've beaten them back come and see, glassboy said, but he got no reply. Marceline you're safe now, Marceline ? he then realized why she wasn't replying to him. oh no ! he whispered, she can't be !, still getting no response he began to cry as he sunk to the ground with his face in his hands. gumbald entered the room and placed a hand on glassboy's shoulder.

you killed her, glassboy sobbed. it was my duty horrible as it was, I hope you can forgive me, Gumbald said. I know it hurts glassboy but the time has come to end your suffering forever. glassboy looked behind him to see Gumbald holding a dagger ready to kill him. he grabbed Gumbald's arm and struggled with him before he managed to shove him to the ground. all my life you have told me the world is a dark and cruel place !, but now I see that the only thing dark and cruel about it is people like you !, glassboy bravely said. just then glassboy heard a his name and looked over it was Marceline still alive. she lives ! gumbald growled as he pulled out his sword. glassboy took Marceline in his arms and ran out onto to the balcony.

I should have known you would risk your life to save that vampire !, just as your own mother died in her pitiful attempt to save you, Gumbald said, reveling the truth to his adopted son. what !? glassboy replied shocked. now I am going to do what I should have done 18 years ago !, gumbald shouted as he swung his sword at glassboy. glassboy, dodging the blow, fell over the ledge of the balcony with Gumbald falling behind him as glassboy caught him with his cape. Marceline grabbed onto glassboy's hand, hold on she whispered. gumbald, meanwhile, noticed a stone gargoyle on another part of the balcony, and swung over to it successfully pulled himself back up.

seeing Marceline helpless, trying to save. glassboy from falling, gumbald stood up on the gargoyle, laughing manically, ready to finally end Marceline and glassboy once and for all. he raised his sword. "and he shall smight the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit !" right as Gumbald said those words, the gargoyle began to crack, causing him to lose his balance. as he hangs onto the gargoyle, it begins to light up and roar right in his face. terrified, gumbald screams, as the gargoyle breaks completely of sending him plummeting down into the molten lava below. symbolising his eternal punishment.

Marceline loses her grip on glassboy, and he also falls but luckily his caught by Finn, who pulls him back onto the castle. glassboy seeing who caught him hugs Finn tightly. Marceline also runs down and hugs glassboy. so are you ready ? Finn, asked, after a moment glassboy replied, yes I am, as the sun began to shine once more, finn and Marceline stepped out of the castle as the candy and nightosphere citizens cheered. Marceline then turned to glassboy and held her hand out to him. after another moment of thought, glassboy took her hand and went out into the sunlight. the candy and nightosphere citizens stared at him confused. a little candy girl came up to him and after a moment hugged him, showing she accepted him. three cheers for glassboy !!! hunson joyfully shouted. the citizens cheered and thanked glassboy for his efforts to save the them and the kingdom, as Marceline and Finn happily watched.

glassboy had never felt happier in his entire 18 years of life, as he had new friends, and was finally accepted into society.
