Backup Season 02 Episode 02
01 Jake had gone with Spud and been teleported to the Huntsclan Academy which left the others all there in the city without them and we see them heading off home since it was getting late. The next day they'd headed off to school same as always we follow Haley and Danielle going to their classroom and doing the schoolwork for the day. It was honestly kinda boring for the two of them, but eventually it was over and Haley got a text on her phone from Fu Dog that said to come by the shop.
02 They'd headed off to Lao Shi's shop with Cujo along with the other members of the group and Haley questions "What's going on?" wondering why she was told to come which he answers by saying "We got a magical creature sighting, and this one ain't to friendly." while picking up a book with a marked page. Lao Shi then opens up the book to the page that was marked showing her the creature in question while saying "According to the description from the magical beings that live around the area the creature is most likely the Bunyip." showing them a furry creature with long sharp fangs that looked rather strange kinda like a large cat but aquatic or amphibius in nature.
03 "Usually the Bunyip is a creature found over in Australia, so what it's doing here is anyone's guess." Fu then explained to the group about the monster in question. "Okay so why are you telling me about this?" Haley then questions confused about everything, "Well see that's the thing with Jake away it's naturally up to you to play substitute." Fu told them pointing out it's Haley's job to substitute. "Wait, WHAT!?" Haley then yelled out surprised to hear that "I can't substitute, I can't even become a Dragon like Jake can.."
04 "Nevertheless it still falls upon the younger generations to act in times such as these." Lao Shi then told her making Haley looked worried though Danielle spoke up saying "Hey I can help too, you guys can go on that mission without me right?" turning to look at the others to get confirmation. The others nodded their agreement to her staying behind and Cujo barked while jumping up and down ready to go and help now. "Alright, we'll head off to do the Mission for the Foundation and you two..uh, three will handle the Bunyip." Den then spoke and after get a nod in confirmation from them all they'd headed out.
05 We cut to later on when they'd headed off to the park when we see that there were a couple of officers standing guard that'd noticed them and one of them walked over to them to have a little chat calling out "You there, there's been reports of women and children vanishing from the area, you need to go home now." telling them to leave for their own protection. "That's okay, we got it from here." Danielle then told the officer dismissing them however the Officer refused saying "Did you not just hear what I said?"
06 "We'll be fine." Haley told them as Cujo growled and began to sniff around while Danielle then smirked with her eyes turning green the same way Danny's would whenever he was up to something mischevious. We then cut to the Officers calling for someone to let them out as they were locked into a storage shed and Danielle says "Well, that takes care of them." while dusting off her hands with a smirk. Haley however had given Danielle a funny look, to which the ghost girl questions "What, they're safer in there and out of our way than out here where they could get hurt." reminding them about what's going on.
07 Cujo sniffed around the bank of the Central Park River and began to growl as they'd heard a strange piercing sound that was like a roar and shriek merged together with a large creature that was both furry and amphibious with large fangs appeared from the water and Cujo changed into his attack dog form ready to fight it. Danielle called "Going Ghost!" and changed into her half ghost form and began to blast at the creature while Haley tried to burn it with Dragon Fire though it wasn't as potent as Jake's flames.
08 They'd managed to get it's attention as it let out a piercing cry that made the three of them stop and shudder from the creature making their ears ring and poor Cujo had it a lot worse due to being a canine. However blue flames began to blast out of nowhere and we see a greenish yellow colored dragon with orange stripes horns and wings blasting out fire at the creature causing it to back off away from them and return to the waters. The Dragon however seemed angry that they'd returned to the waters.
09 "Gah, blast it all, gone again." The Dragon then spoke with an annoyed groan that the creature managed to escape them he'd then looked up seeing the others and spotted Cujo calling out "Hell hound! Girls you should get away." and charged at the ghost dog tackiling him while Cujo began to fight back. "HEY Leave My Dog Alone!" Danielle then called blasting at the Dragon knocking them over to the side. "Why are you defending this beast?" The Dragon then questioned as Haley speaks up saying "Because they're our friend and oyu aren't welcome here!" and blasted at them with fire.
10 The Dragon used his wing to block it and knocked Haley over though she got up calling "Claw of the Dragon!" changing her hands into Claws which made the Dragon pause before calling "HOLD IT! Time Out!" putting his claws up in a 'T' shape before questioning "You've got dragon powers, any chance you know know the American Dragon?" this mde them stop to listen to what he was saying. Haley then responds "The American Dragon is my brother." explaining the situation. The Dragon seemed to then calm down as he says "Oh so you're Jake's Substitute then." while changing into a human form with orangish red hair.
11 "You know Jake?" Danielle then questions and the guy nods saying "Ya, I raced him at the Dragon Sumit, he saved me from the Dark Dragon. My name is Fred Nerk, I'm the Australian Dragon." he'd explained to them and looked over at Cujo and hung his head in apology adding on "I'm sorry for attacking you, I've been on edge since the Bunyip escaped. If I don't get them back to their territory soon they'll become even more violent and dangerous, that's why we try to contain them in Australia as the waters there keep them docile unless they get hungry."
12 Cujo looked at Fred and sniffed at him before returning to his puppy form again now calmed for the moment. "My name is Haley." Jake's sister then introduced herself followed by Danielle saying "I'm Danielle Fenton, you probably know me better from being on a team with my brother Danny Phantom, and this is Cujo." she'd then explained to Fred scratching Cujo's ears as he let out happy noises having them scratched.
13 "Ya, that half Ghost guy." Fred then spoke remembering about that and getting a nod in response from Danielle "So what now?" she then questions about what they should do next. "Now we go and find the Bunyip again and hopefully manage to catch it." Fred then explained changing back into Dragon form and they'd traveled along the Bank noticing that Haley was riding on Cujo's back while he was once more in attack dog form while Danielle was flying. "Y'know, it'd be faster if you flew." He'd told Haley who pouted in annoyance saying "I can't, I don't have my wings and can't fully turn into Dragon form yet."
14 They'd then heard a strange chattering like growl and Haley questions "Was that the Bunyip?" though Fred looked worried saying "Oh no, its gotten to that point.." which just confused her. "What do you mean that point?" she'd then questioned which the Australian Dragon explains "The Bunyip can use a hypnotic call that works on women to draw them to the waters, we dragons are imune but it works on all other creatures including humans." and they look to see Danielle slowly floating towards the waters seeming in a trans but Cujo grabs her by the leg and begins to pull her away from it.
15 Fred charged at the Bunyip blasting at it with fire, but they'd revealed their tail and struck him with it knocking him into a tree making it drop down on top of him. "Haley, you gotta blast it with fire from behind and drag it up to shore, if it dries out it'll grow weaker." he'd called out to Jake's sister while trying to move the tree from on top of him. "I can't, I can't turn full Dragon." Haley then called out starting to worry about everything going on, however Fred calls "That's quitter talk, Jake wouldn't give up and if you're anything like him I know you can do it, just believe that you can!"
16 "I can do this, I can do this, come on Haley, everyone's counting on you." Haley called slapping her cheeks with her open palms trying to psyche herself up before then yelling out "DRAGON UP!" and in a burst of flame she'd started changing form finally taking on a dragon-like appearance similar to that of her brother except it was a purplish pink color and she'd flown higher than the Bunyip could reach and blasted fire at their tail making them cry out in pain and dip it back into water to put out the fire giving her an opening and so she'd blasted it in the back with her fire.
17 The fire caused the Bunyip to dive into the water again, but Haley flew down grabbing the nape of their fur as they were diving and pulled them up onto the land throwing them into a tree and blasting them with fire again to dry them out. Danielle had snapped out of it and looked around confused questioning "What's going on?" and Fred spoke saying "The Bunyip put you in a trance and then knocked me into a tree, Haley managed to turn into her dragon form and saved us all.. any chance you can get this tree off of me?" he'd explained before asking about the tree and so Danielle grabs him going intangible and doing the same for him too pulling him out from under it.
18 "Thanks Mate, wish I could stay to help out with Dragon stuff while Jake's away but I gotta get this guy home before he wakes and it's a long flight." Fred then spoke gesturing to the Bunyip though Danielle speaks up saying "Hold on a sec, I got an idea." and began to make a call to someone. We see after she'd hung up that a portal appeared looking as if it was clawed open with Wulf coming out they see Danielle speaking to them saying "Thanks for coming to help." and Wulf nodded looking at Fred.
19 "Where?" he'd questioned the Australian Dragon, and although confused he'd made a crude drawing of where the Bunyip needed to go. and Wulf clawed open another portal which Fred stuck his head through finding it was the right place and they'd thrown the Bunyip in. "Thanks for the help uh.." he'd began to say but realized he didn't know their name "Wulf." the werewolf like Ghost in the hoodie spoke "Wulf, thanks for the help. Now I can stay to help Haley with Dragon stuff until Jake gets back."
20 Hearing this Wulf nodded and hugged Danielle and Cujo before waving goodbye stepping through the portal home before poking his head back out saying "Come visit soon." getting a nod from the two of them and he'd pulled his head back through with the portal closing. "Alright, now let's start the Dragon Training. Since they're new we'll work on strengthening your wins and working on flight and acrobatics in Dragon form." Fred then spoke up while gesturing to Haley's wings in dragon form and started to explain various things to her.
