Hello everyone! Welcome back to my story! I know I am updating fast on this story compare to the other ones I should be working on, but I assure you that I will work on them while doing this story. And as for the reviews that keep telling me to continue Young Justice Z or do a one-shot, I will say this one time and one time only. I WILL NOT BE DOING THOSE STORIES ANYMORE! I AM ALREADY DONE WITH THAT PART AND IT WILL TAKE TOO MUCH TIME FOR ME TO DO THEM SINCE I WAS ONLY FOCUSED ON THE FIRST SEASON! AND I ALREADY DID A YOUNG JUSTICE Z ONE-SHOT CALLED "Just Another Day". SO STOP ASKING FOR MORE YOUNG JUSTICE Z STORIES, I AM ALREADY DONE WITH THAT!

With that out of the way, for this chapter, I will be doing something for Shaun's family that is a bit of a cheat since they are in a, shall we say, unique situation and convert the caps that they own into Galleons, and it will be a lot. With that said, I hope you enjoy this chapte

Chapter 2

It has been a few days since Nate and his family appeared in their new surroundings. While the surrounding was peaceful, everyone was on high alert in case of an unexpected attack. Nate has been using the radio to at least contact Preston or any of the Minutemen, but he was unsuccessful to contact anyone. They were also unsuccessful on finding a settlement close by as they would walk for miles and were unable to find anything. However, the most shocking part was the fact that there was wildlife out in the woods, but unlike in the Commonwealth, the wildlife looked like it was untouched by radiation. Instead of being the mutated creatures that they are familiar are with, they looked like normal animals that Nate was too familiar with before the bombs dropped 200 years ago. Maybe they were transported into a place where it was untouched by radiation?

However, that was the least of their problems. While checking on their supplies and equipment, Nate checked the food and was alarmed to find out that irradiated food was no longer radiated, but the different meat that was stored was changed into normal meat. It was no longer Deathclaw, Brahmin, or even insect meat, it was all regular cow meat! Even the radiated expired food that they had was no longer radiated and was fresh!

Another surprise was when Nate went to check on their caps, but to his shock and surprise, the bottle caps were not only changed, but there was more! Where there were once 100,000 caps was now over a million large gold coins! The coins itself were large and, on one side had an image of a dragon while the other side had an image of, what looked like, a wizard. And on the coins it had the word 'Gringotts' on them. It was still strange that their currency suddenly changed and with greater amount, maybe their new location used this currency? But if so, why is there more than 10 times the amount they have? Regardless, they were all on edge while continuing with their lives and hope that they contact someone soon.

Walking into the shed where all the workshops are, Shaun walked up to his father as he was continuing to adjust the radio to see if he could pick up a signal but was unable to. All of their Pipboys not only didn't had any radio signals, but the map system wasn't working for some reason.

"Anything dad?" Shaun asked.

Nate shook his head and replied "Not one thing. Either something is wrong with the signal or we are too far out of range. We could keep scouting ahead, but we don't know if we will find any settlements. I'm afraid we might be on our own. For not at least."

Shaun sighed and said "It's my fault. I knew the crystal ball was off and I just…"

"Shaun," Nate said as he stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder, "It's not your fault. Things like this happen all the time, it was out of our control. Don't blame yourself for something you had no control over. The only thing we can do is make the best of our situation."

"But what about the Minutemen?" Shaun asked.

Nate replied "Don't worry, if anything happens, Preston would be next in line to lead. He knows what to do when I am not around. Don't worry about it. For now, let's just focus on the here and now."

Shaun let out sigh and said "Alright. Well, Cait said that lunch is ready. Though it is weird that we are eating fresh food now."

"Tell me about it," Nate said.

Both of them started to head to their house, but just as they were about to enter, they heard a sudden popping sound behind them. They quickly turned around and, to their shock, was an old man with his back turned towards them. He was wearing dark grey robes with a grey cap, glasses and had long grey hair with a beard. The old man looked around before he saw Shaun and Nate and said "Ah, I was wondering if I had the location right. Ah, hello, my name is…"

However, before the old man was about to finish, both Shaun and Nate took out their weapons and aimed it at him. Nate then asked in a demanding way "Who the hell are you? And where did you come from?"

The old man, who wasn't afraid at the moment, merely raised a hand in assurance and said "I assure you, I mean you no disrespect. It was not my intention to show up unannounced, I was merely trying to find this location, but I kept getting lost."

Curious, Nate asked "And why are you trying to find our home?"

The old man replied "Well, I am looking for one called Shaun Sinclair. I assume that the young man next to you is him?"

A bit worried, Nate steadied his weapon and asked "And what do you want with my son?"

"Oh your son? That is most excellent," the old man said, "Forgive me, I am getting ahead of myself once again. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Albus Dumbledore, I am the Headmaster at Hogwarts."

"Never heard of it," Nate said.

The old man, Dumbledore, said, "Well, it is not common among Muggles if you haven't heard of it."

"So you trespass and calling me names? You are really not helping your case," Nate said.

Dumbledore quickly said "My apologizes, this is a lot to take in. But please, all I ask is a moment of your time."

Just then, Danse rushed over to the commotion, saw Dumbledore as he aimed his laser rifle at him and said "It appears we have an intruder. You have one warning to leave the area before we open fire."

As Dumbledore looked over and was amazed by the armor Danse was wearing, Nate on the other hand was observing the old man and, while he did appear out of nowhere and was trespassing, he could tell that this man wanted to talk. And he wanted to know how he knows of Shaun. Does he know the truth of his son? That's impossible.

Gripping his hunting rifle, Nate said "Stand down, Danse. We'll give him a chance to talk. But I am warning you, if you try any funny business, I won't hesitate to put you down. You hear me?"

Dumbledore nodded and said "I promise you that I have no intention to cause any harm."

Nate stared at him for a while before saying "Very well. Come in."

Dumbledore nodded as he, Nate and Shaun all entered while Danse got out of his power armor. As they head inside, Cait looked over as she saw Dumbledore and asked "Oy, who is the old bag of bones?"

Nate replied "His name is Albus Dumbledore. He is a headmaster of some sort."

They all look at him as Dumbledore was amazed by the house as he was looking over at the terminal, the television and the lightbulbs that hung on the ceiling.

"Fascinating," Dumbledore said, "I have never seen Muggle artifacts such as these before."

Everyone was confused by what he was saying as Nate then said "Alright, first things first, how do you know my son? Are you with the Institute? Just you know, they have been destroyed 5 years ago."

Dumbledore looked at him as he raised his eyebrow and replied "I do not know what this Institute is, but I am a professor at Hogwarts. And as for how I know your son, well, that itself is a mystery."

"And…why is that?" Shaun asked.

Dumbledore smiled and replied "Well, first and foremost, Hogwarts is a school for witchcraft and wizardry."

The moment he said that, the whole room went silent for a moment before Cait burst out laughing and said "You fucking joking?! Seriously?!"

Surprised by Cait's language, Dumbledore said "Ma'am, your child is right here. Care to speak carefully with your words?"

Nate said "Trust me, I have already tried, but there is no use to toning down that Irish heritage of hers."

"Damn right!" Cait shouted with pride.

"Despite her outburst, she is right," Danse said, "A school for witchcraft? Not only it's unheard of, but magic doesn't exist."

Dumbledore chuckled and said "I see."

He then looked at Cait and said "I see you are making lunch. May I help set the table."

Cait huffed and said "Sure, whatever. Just don't break anything."

Nodding, Dumbledore then reached into his robes and took out some sort of stick. As everyone was confused, he then flicked his stick as the cabinet suddenly opened as six plates and cups started to float out and were placed on the table. Everyone jumped back and were in shock as the plates and cups were set on the table.

Shaun looked at Dumbledore and asked "How did you…"

Dumbledore smiled as he held up his stick and said "Well, I am a wizard."

Shaun looked at that stick and asked "And…that is your wand?"

"That is correct," Dumbledore said as he puts away his wand, "And as for how I know you, your name appeared in the admissions for this upcoming school year."

"Wait…what?" Nate asked, "What do you mean his name appeared in admissions?"

Dumbledore replied "Well, when a child uses accidental magic, it is a sign that they are destined to be wizards. I will not go too much into details, but while your son's name was written down, it is strange since one's name is written when they turn 10."

"So…you're saying…I can use magic?" Shaun asked.

"Yes," Dumbledore replied, "Tell me, have you done something out of the ordinary? Maybe when you were angry or scared?"

"Well, not really scared or angry," Shaun said as he looked at his dad, "But…"

Nate understood and said "Well, something strange did happen a few days ago."

He then faced Dumbledore and said "A few days ago, I found a crystal ball in the Museum of Witchcraft. At first it was just an ornament and Shaun wanted to keep it, but when he touched it, it started to glow. I destroyed it and we ended up here."

"I see," Dumbledore said, "It must have been a magical artifact or a Portkey. And you said it brought you here?"

"That is correct," Danse said, "If you are familiar with the area, then you would know any settlements nearby. We have been having a hard time finding one."

"I'm afraid you won't find one here," Dumbledore said, "I do not know where you came from, but you are in the outskirts of Scotland."

"Scotland?!" everyone in the room shouted.

"How the fuck did we get to Scotland in an instant?!" Cait shouted.

"I didn't know it would take us this far from the Commonwealth," Nate said, "Would explain why I couldn't contact Preston."

"I am sorry, you said you were from the Commonwealth?" Dumbledore asked, "Where exactly is that?"

Shaun replied "It's located where it was once America. Well, Massachusetts would be accurate, but still."

Now confused, Dumbledore asked "I'm sorry, where it was once America?"

"Yeah, just across the other side of the Atlantic Ocean," Nate said.

"No, I understand that," Dumbledore said, "But you're talking like America is gone. For all I know, America still exists."

Everyone was confused as Nate said "I'm pretty sure that people forget what each place is called after the bombs dropped 200 years ago."

"What bombs?" Dumbledore asked now intrigued.

"The nuclear bombs?" Danse asked, "Ones that wiped out humanity back in 2077."

The moment Danse said that, Dumbledore's eyes widened and then asked "I will ask a question and please be calm."

Everyone was confused on why he said that as he asked "What is today's date?"

Now more confused, Nate said "Well, it was October 5th a few days ago, so…October 8, 2293. Why?"

The moment Nate said that, Dumbledore's eyes widen in shock as he said "Impossible…I believe that crystal ball did more than just transport you from one location to another."

"What do you mean by that?" Shaun asked.

Dumbledore sighed and said "Because today's date is July 28…1995."

When Dumbledore said that, everyone's heart dropped as the room went silent. There was no possible way that they have somehow traveled BACK IN TIME with a mere crystal ball.

"T-That's not right! You're lying!" Cait shouted, "It has to be a fucking joke, right?!"

Shaun thought about it and replied "That would explain Fluffy and the Brahmins being different. If we were transported, then they would have been the same, but…this…this is insane."

Nate turned to Dumbledore and said "Can you…give us a moment please?"

"Of course," Dumbledore said, "Take all the time you need. I know this is a…shock to you all."

With that, Dumbledore left the house and, as soon as he closed the door, Cait shouted "Is this some fucking joke?! There is no fucking way this shite is real!"

"I don't want to believe this as well," Danse said, "Time travel may be possible if one has the technology to do so. But magic? I find that hard to believe."

Nate then said "I mean, I had my fair share of weird encounters while my time in the Commonwealth. But this…this is something else entirely."

Shaun stood there in silence before saying "It's not just that. He said that the year is 1995. That means…we are in a time before the Great War and when the bombs drop."

"That's…I forgot about that," Danse said, "Then it is important that we must return to our time period."

"But how?" Shaun asked, "That crystal ball was the reason we are here and we destroyed it."

Nate thought about it and replied "We did destroy it. However, I'm guessing that that the crystal ball still exists during this time."

"So we find it and use it to send us back? Pretty easy," Cait said as she held Sara to her.

"No…" Nate said, "That crystal ball is back at the Museum of Witchcraft, in America. And the getting there will be difficult since we lack documents to get in either in planes or boats."

"Right," Danse said, "And since we have been located to Scotland, it will difficult for us to get to the Commonwealth now. And not only that, I believe that simply taking it from the museum will be a harder task now that there will be security detailing the area."

"So we are stuck here?" Cait asked, "I mean, it's fucked up I can tell you that, but even if we are in the past, that means…we don't have to worry about anything else? No Raiders? No nothing?"

Nate thought about it and said "We are in the middle of nowhere and far from civilization, but the way things are…I am sure that we are safe. But that doesn't mean that we should let our guard down."

"So we are staying put then?" Danse asked.

"I mean, for the time being I suppose," Shaun said, "But that just leaves us with another situation on our hand…I mean, a school for magic? And me attending?"

Nate was a bit hesitant and said "Yeah…that part is what confuses me. I…well…as far as I know, neither me nor your mother have never displayed any magic."

While Cait and Danse knew what he meant, Shaun said "Maybe we can hear Mr. Dumbledore out?"

Nate thought about it and replied "I suppose so."

Nodding, as Shaun walked out the front door and saw Dumbledore talking to Codsworth and Ada as he heard Dumbledore saying "Fascinating creatures the both of you are. Living metal beings? That is astonishing."

"Thank you, good sir," Codsworth said, "Though I miss my old model, but I am thankful that I was given this model to protect my master's family."

"And I and thankful for Nate for taking me in," Ada said, "Where I would have been spare parts elsewhere, with Nate, I am given a new purpose: to protect his family. He doesn't ask for much, so it is the least I can do for him."

"Such loyalty," Dumbledore said impressed, "That is quite admirable."

Hearing their conversation, Shaun smiled as he playfully shook his head as he said "Mr. Dumbledore? We are done talking for now, you can come back in."

Dumbledore nodded as he entered the house once again. Once he was inside, Shaun then said "So…what you said about me using magic…is that true?"

"Of course," Dumbledore said, "As I have said, you have been accepted to attended Hogwarts. However, due to your unique situation, you will be starting as a 5th year. It is rare for someone like you to be admitted so late."

"Considering that…we are from the future, it may be that," Danse said.

"But…how can you be certain that Shaun can use magic?" Nate asked.

Dumbledore replied "If he did not possess magic, then he wouldn't have an acceptance letter. But the fact remains that your son is indeed accepted into Hogwarts and has the ability to wield magic."

Nate thought about it and asked "Well, let's say that Shaun is allowed to go, I am guessing that he will need school supplies?"

"That is correct," Dumbledore replied, "Though, that would be a slight problem in your situation. You said you are from the future, has the currency changed?"

"Oh big time," Cait said.

"Hmm that will present a bit of problem," Dumbledore said, "But do not worry. I am sure we can sort this out and get you some funds for Hogwarts."

Everyone all looked at each other as Nate asked "Let me guess, your currency is a large gold coin with the word Gringotts on them?"

Dumbledore's eyes widened and replied "Why yes. We have three different coins: bronze coins are Knuts, silver ones are Sickles, and the gold ones are Galleons."

Shaun looked at his father and said "I guess we know why all the caps changed into galleons."

Nate nodded at Shaun as he looked at Dumbledore and said "Well, I guess we don't have to worry about money problem."

"That is good to hear," Dumbledore said as he then took out a letter and handed it to Shaun, "And here is your acceptance letter. Everything you will need in regards to supplies and books will be in the letter. I will have someone come to take you to Diagon Alley to gather your school supplies."

Shaun nodded as Dumbledore said "I look forward to seeing what you will learn, Mr. Sinclair. Until then."

With that, Dumbledore left the house. Wanting to know who the person Shaun was going to meet, he quickly followed Dumbledore and, when he opened the door, the headmaster had vanished into thin air.

Later that night…

It was late at night when it was close to dinner. Both Danse and Shaun had left to conduct the last patrol of the day while Nate and Cait were in their home taking care of Sara. Nate was sitting in the couch feeling completely frustrated, confused and worried.

Seeing this, Cait walked up to him and asked "Are you alright, luv?"

Nate sighed and said "This is just too much right now. I mean, time travel, all of our possessions changing and…Shaun using magic."

Also worried about this, Cait said "But how would he…you know…"

"I don't know," Nate said, "I really don't know. I…I don't want to see him get disappointed if he later finds out he can't do magic. A part of me wishes that this is all some sort of dream…but it's not…"

Cait placed a hand on his shoulder and asked "And was your first wife…you know…magical?"

Nate chuckled and said "I mean…our love was."

Cait rolled her eyes and playfully slap the back side of his head, but Nate went serious and said "But as far as I know, Nora never used magic. She was as normal as I remember her to be."

"So how can Shaun be able to use magic is he's…" Cait said before stopping.

"I know…" Nate said, "It still doesn't make sense. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that Shaun is able to grow up to the person he is, but him using magic? Especially what he is…that is too much of a stretch."

"But you are worried about Shaun going to this school, aren't you?" Cait asked.

Nate then looked at Cait dead in the eyes and said "The last time someone showed up in my door and offered something too good to be true…it cost me everything."

Cait flinched a bit and said "I'm sorry if I brought up any memories."

"It's fine, Cait," Nate said as he placed a hand on hers, "But I am worried about Shaun. Especially since he will be going to this school."

"Well, it is a good thing, right?" Cait said, "Now that we aren't living in the Commonwealth worrying about what will kill us, this may give Shaun a chance to be a kid, right?"

Nate smiled a bit and said "Yeah…I guess you're right. If Shaun wants to go, then we should support his decision."

"Who knows," Cait said, "Maybe Shaun will find himself a girl."

Nate chuckled and said "Can't wait for that to happen."

After a moment of silence, Cait then said "100 caps says she has an attitude problem."

Nate replied "We don't have any caps and…hate to say it…you would win that bit considering the women in my life."

Cait laughed as Shaun and Danse eventually returned from their patrol. After enjoying the dinner and resting for a bit, they all headed to bed as they await for the person who will take Shaun to Diagon Alley.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I know it was out of place and character for Dumbledore to appear and talk to Shaun and his family considering the events of the storyline, this story will take place during The Order of the Phoenix, but I will make this meeting happen a few days before any actual events happen to avoid any confusion.
