Backup Season 02 Episode 07
With the Marks on Raven now covering her body she couldn't exactly go to school, however she'd still gotten up early. We see that Ship had been sleeping on her bed and moved up letting out a sound that could pass for their version of a yawn while turning their head over towards Raven. She'd smiled a little and patted their head before stretching out and deciding to get up after a moment or two, headed off to go get a shower and then after being dressed heading off to the roof to watch the sunrise wishing that all this wouldn't be happening to her.
"Early morning?" Someone asked walking over to stand beside her which turned out to be Den with the two of them watching the sun come up.
"Hard to sleep when you know you're going to cause the end of the world." She'd responded with a saddened sigh.
"Nah, you're not gonna cause the end of the world." Den answered back which she'd looked at him a little confused by. "I mean, your dad might, but hey that's not your fault." he then teased a bit making her hit him in the shoulder.
Den had laughed a bit while Raven looked at him annoyed. "I don't see how you can joke about something like that." She'd responded to him joking around.
"Not the first end of the world thing I've been a part of." He answered back with a shrug before then asking "So, question. What if we could go back and stop Vlad from putting that mark on you?"
She'd shaken her head no to that saying "It was always there, it was just awakened by him. It would have awakened anyway when the alignment happened."
"Okay, so how about we just take you from today to the day after the alignment occours?" he'd questioned next wondering if that was a no go too.
"Then someone else would be born to be the portal the next time the alignment happens. It would be simply delaying things. Like putting a bandaid on a broken bone. Short term fix but it'll only get worse from there." She'd answered again with Den letting out a sigh hearing that those ideas were out.
"Well, at the very least I can use Kronos to buy some time." Den had stated in response sad that he couldn't use them to save Raven without sacrificing someone else in the process. "For now, I think Cherit just about has breakfast ready."
They went down to breakfast and later on Raven had headed off to her room while her friends were all talking about ways to help stop or at the very least hinder Trigon in some way. While they were chatting she was trying to meditate in her room and had thought that maybe if anyone could find a way that she and her friends could.
"You know better than to believe anyone can stop me daughter." The deep voice from before responds to her thoughts revealing that it was in fact Trigon whenever the voice had spoken.
Raven shakes her head thinking that it hasn't happened yet so he can't be there. However Trigon responds "I am always with you daughter, you are a part of me forever."
"Get out." Raven then demanded aloud now speaking to her father instead of only thinking her thoughts while also making her black aura with the white outline surround her.
"This will happen daughter that is your purpose, that is why I have sired you into this world. The Earth will be mine." He'd responded back to her as we see that she seemed to be surrounded by jagged stones and lava around her now.
"And if I refuse to let you, if I DON'T become your Portal, what then?" She'd demanded standing up and looking towards two sets of red eyes glaring down at her.
"It is not your place to tell me what to do, I am your father and you will do as I say." Trigon then yelled out as Raven tried to attack him though he'd stopped her effort with one hand. "It doesn't matter what you do, you'll always be daddy's little girl."
"I am nothing like you." Raven spat back as her eyes glowed red and a second set of eyes appeared slightly higher up causing her to fall to the ground trying to fight it.
"You tried to protect your friends from the truth, and for what? A meaningless end, the Demonic power that dwells within you will ensure destruction. Like father, like daughter. There's no stopping me Rachel. Not you nor your friends, this world is doomed."
"Don't, please!" She then called out looking worried as the shadowy form of Trigon had lifted Raven up in the palm of his hand so they could see one another better.
"You want to save them from destruction, you simply have to open the way." he'd then told his daughter. "You cannot hide from your destiny." He then uses his index finger on his other hand to lift up Raven's head to have her looking at him. "Do this willingly and your friends will be spared oblivion."
Snapping back to Reality Raven had put her hood up and slipped out using her abilities and went off to the chamber where the gem would open the portal, finding Vlad there with the orb and a twisted sorta look of satisfaction. "Ah the portal has arrived. We have everything needed a significant consentration of evil and the gem to open the way."
"You're a fool Vlad, nothing but a pawn in my father's game." She'd told him taking the orb using her abilities to draw it closer to herself and then floated up to the center of the large stone hand calling "The gem was born of Evil's fire, the gem shall be his portal. He comes to claim, he comes to sire. The end of all things mortal."
With that Raven crushed the orb and the red markings began to swirl all around her creating an orb that swallowed her up just as her friends had come to try to save her, though it was too late as they could see her being swallowed and then the symbols swirling around her become a disk of flames destroying the platform and landing onto the ground. Trigon had finally appeared as a red demonic entity with black markings and a his horns wrapping around his head sorta like a crown of some kind. He also wore black armor of sorts.
"The Earth is mine." Trigon had called out letting out a roar that had changed the planet to a desolate wasteland of fire and stone and the others had been protected by Raven's energies and sent somewhere else while this was happening.
When it was all over the energies protecting them had vanished and we see Den as the first one to get up groaning about what happened. He'd looked around and saw how everything had been destroyed and the skies were burning red and innocent people had been turned to stone when Trigon let out a roar. A black bird with red eyes landed nearby looking at them as he'd been surprised they were there.
"Raven?" He'd questioned and the bird began to fly away with Den then chasing after them calling "Come back!" as he did so. He'd followed them up a building that had been leaning but lost track of them and the part he was standing on had broken sending him falling as someone had grabbed onto him.
"I got ya." they'd spoken revealing that it was Jake who'd been flying by and helped him back up. "Seems you made it too, don't tell me a little birdie led you here?"
Den nodded in response saying "It did. How many are left?" he'd then questioned them wanting to know how bad it was looking.
"Currently the only people left here are us, Haley, Harrison, Ship, Cujo, Danielle, Cherit, Gramps, and Sun. We're trying to make contact with the outside but there's been no response from the Dragon Counil or anyone from the Huntik Foundation. Danielle is trying get into contact with Team Phantom and the Plumbers." Jake answered back about what had seemed to happen.
Den nodded and they'd gone to meet up with the others who'd been using whatever they could to try to make contact in some way over at Lao Shi's shop as it was one of the few places that hadn't been totally wrecked but was still in pretty bad shape. "Status Report?" He'd questioned once they'd gone in.
"Good news and bad news situation." Danielle spoke up answering Den's question about how things are going. "The bad news, no response from Team Phantom or the Plumbers' Earth branch. The good news, all planets and earth branches are still fully functional and unharmed including the Academy where Trixie and Spud are standing by."
"What about the Huntsclan?" Jake asked worried about Rose hoping that she'd be okay too concerned that they'd be on their own for this.
"Gone, save for Rose who'd on her way from the main branch in Hong Kong to try to help." Haley answered saying that Rose was the only survivor that she could find from the Huntsclan. "Ship's been working on broadcasting to some of Ben's allies but there's no telling how long it would take for them to get here.
"Then let's go kick Trigon's ass and get our friend back." Harrison spoke up ready to go and fight Raven's father.
"Oh I wouldn't do that boy. Not without your friend at least." A voice spoke up and they'd seen Vlad phasing up from the floor with everyone going on the defensive. "Trigon promised me something and failed to deliver, so if he doesn't keep his end I don't see why I should keep mine."
"What's in it for you?" Danielle questioned wanting to know what his angle was exactly in all of this. "Even if you helped us there'd be a reason besides being angry at Trigon's betrayl."
"You're right. I can't exactly rule over a world that's dead now can I? I will claim what is mine one way or another." Vlad then answered back about what his end goal was, which was on par with what they'd known about him. "I will take one of you to get your friend back and in exchange you will help me with my vendetta against the Demon."
"Why only one?" Sun then questioned how come they'd only be able to take one with them on this journey.
"Trigon can see all that happens in his domain, unless his mind is occupied somewhere else." Vlad explained to them stating that everyone else were to be a distraction. "I don't expect any of you to survive this, but to save this planet you'll have to endure."
"I'll do it." Daneille spoke up saying that she would go with Vlad to get them back and gave her Fenton Thermos to Den. "I'm half ghost so I'll have the best chance at the task."
Vlad then held up a ring saying "This is a ring of Azar crafted by the order that originally sealed Trigon away, I know from personal expierience that it works well for protection." and handed it over to Sun then taking Danielle with him to go and get Raven back from them and to take revenge for being doublecrossed.
The others headed off to where Trigon was gathering his strength and so Ship had changed into his spacecraft form and launched a missile into his rather large ear making it explode and getting his attention as he howled out in pain from having something literally exploding his eardrum though it would soon heal due to his demonic power. At least they got his attention now as they'd flown to a spot in front of them and dropped everyone else off ready to fight.
In anger Trigon blasted at them however a red shield had appeared around them protecting them all from the blast. "A ring of Azar, no dobut a relic from a former minion no matter I need not fight you." He'd called blasting energy into the ground that had caused negative coppies of them to appear from their bodies.
