Backup Season 02 Episode 05
We see Raven wandering a wasteland with rivers of magma flowing as she walks over to jagged stone that have the symbol on her arm carved onto it as she'd looked worried and tries to shake her head clear. She'd continued moving trying to find.. something. As she did so she moves to different buildings all having the same mark as on her arm, at first it was one or two, but the further she moved the more it would appear. Turning around she'd found the Mark eched all over the place countless times.
"Tick tock, time is running out." A voice spoke as a figure was fading in an out of sight getting closer and closer to her each time.
"I'm not afraid you." Raven called out as the figure then had a twisted grin appear on their face revealing himself to be Vlad.
"I'm not the one to be afraid of my dear." he'd spoken before then vanishing in a flash of lightining as fire rained down from the sky.
A dark and powerful voice speaks up calling "What you have concealed you shall become." as the fire raining from the sky moved over towards her and two of the flames slammed into her from both front and behind.
"I'm not afraid and I will NOT let this happen!" She'd called out using her powers to get rid of the flames around her.
"It's cute you think you can fight this, but you were born for this very reason." Vlad spoke up appearing again sitting on top of a destroyed school bus that had the name of her school on it.
"The portal WILL be opened." The dark voice spoke as the ground became purple and reflective with two sets of eyes glaring out from it.
We suddenly see Rraven in a meditative stance surrounded by books as she'd been snapped out of her trance and was breathing heavily looking scared from what she'd dealt with as the symbol that was on her arm was now also on her forehead where her Gem was imbedded.
Back with the others they were digging around but finding nothing when Cherit had come in calling "You guys gotta get going, Jake just called for some help, from the sounds of it, it's Wilder along with Ford and Rassimov causing problems in an area that's set for Demolition."
"Okay, that is weird." Den spoke as they'd all prepared to head on out and Ship had taken the form of a hovercraft since the Spacecraft form was too large for the streets of the city and he didn't wanna hit anything with his wings.
They'd all gotten in and headed on out to where Jake had asked them to meet up seeing that he and his sister were both in Dragon form and had flown over the fence area leading the way as Ship landed once over the fense as well. They then see fires going around and start to check it out to see what's going on.
"I don't see why where destorying this place." Ford spoke throwing an orb of reddish orange energy at part of a building not getting why they are doing this.
"We're supposed to be Drawing them out." Wilder called doing the same as Ford had just done
drawing the group over towards them.
Meanwhile Vlad was sitting atop a building watching them while holding a strange glowing orb that appeared to be somewhat familiar as he'd seen the group showing up and smirking "Guess I should get down there, less than half a minute remains after all." he'd spoken before jumping down to go after them.
"Isn't city vandalism usually that guy in the tights' job?" Harrison questioned as they were headed towards the evil seeker team.
"Knowing that guy, he's probably fighting some guy with a fish bowl over his head." Jake joked as they'd gone to join them in facing off against the bad guys.
The group had actually started laughing thinking about all that and came face to face with Ford Rassimov and Wilder. They were about to start fighting when suddenly something had surprised them all. Vlad, or three duplicates, or two duplicates and the original or.. it doesn't matter what matters is what they were doing and currently they had phased their hands through the evil seekers' back with them appearing from out their chests and holding the three's hearts and finally a fourth Vlad had shown up with a twisted look.
"Finally I can get rid of you three." Vlad then spoke as his coppies put the hearts into the glowing orb that he'd been holding causing it to turn red and all four in unison say "Perfect, all is almost ready."
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Haley had spoken being the first one to find her voice after witnessing that.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Jake then demanded being the next to speak up. "And what the hell did you do to Raven?"
"I simply sacrificed a few pawns to capture a queen, it's basic Chess, though I doubt any of you would understand that. As for the Mark? Let me make this simple. It's called the Mark of Skath and soon it would be very popular." After having said that Vlad then began to let out a laugh as the green hellish flames then erupted from around them and Ship and Raven had put up barriers to keep them from getitng to them as Vlad then vanished.
Haley flew into the sky to see if she can spot him and calls "Uhh, guys you might wanna get up here." wich the others do thanks to Ship and they see the same mark on Raven's arm and forehead now burned there.
"Skath.. that's what the Huntsmaster said to me before the temple vanished." Jake then called out "I know where we need to go."
They'd headed to an abandoned building and Den calls out "Danielle, think you can phase down an find us an entrance?" which she'd noded to.
"On it." Danielle then called as she and Cujo phased down through the floor looking around and noticed a stairwell going up it and finding a locked door. Since she didn't have the key she'd blasted it with her ghost ray and the others see this going over.
When they'd gone down to the area below they'd found strange cloaked statues with skulls for faces and the walls began to light up all over in strange symbols with the Mark of Skath appearing at the center of the back wall with ghostly enteties coming from the statues all chanting out together in unison.
"The Gem was born of Evil's fire, the Gem shall be his portal. He comes to claim, he comes to sire, the end of all things mortal." as they'd returned to the statues the marks on Raven's head and arm had spread out all over her body and she'd run off scared.
"Raven!?" Harrison called out as he and the rest of the group chased after her. "Wait, come on tell us what's wrong."
Turning to look at them Raven says "I can't, this place is wrong. I won't go back in there!" and changed into her black energies with the white outline phasing upwards to get away as Danielle phased up trying to chase after her.
"She's gone." Danelle then spoke coming back down looking saddened as Jake began to fly back down the steps with the others following after.
He'd blasted the main mark with blue fire and destroyed the door leading to an even deeper pit. "Whatever's going on we have to get down below." Jake then called as they'd all began to head down to the bottom to find out what's going on.
We then see Raven going throuhg a strang blueish void until she'd come up to a magic circle she'd tried to force her way through as the gem on her forehead started glowing and she'd managed to push her way through. We then see she was on a strange world with an orange sky and that she was sitting on a floating island that has a temple atop it.
She'd started traveling around the city calling out "Hello?" while looking around to see if anyone was there that she could speak with. A small white bird had flown past and she'd decided to follow it watching ast they'd landed on someone's hand.
Raven then flew up to this person seeing they were in a white robe "Mom, Wait! I've come back." she'd called out knowing who this person was and they turn to look at her with the woman looking like an older Raven with longer hair though she looked saddened somehow. "Mom please help me."
"You always had a home here Raven, but help is something we could never give." Raven's mother spoke as her daughter came over with a book. "Nothing can be done, the promise of your birth was absolute."
"But I don't want to BE this, isn't there something, anything I can do?" Raven begged looking more like a scared child than that of the young woman she'd grown into over the years.
Her mother walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her daughter saddened and spoke telling her "It's too late for Earth, just as it was too late for Azarath. The only thing you can do is try to remember who you are, not what you were born to be."
As she says this the illusion of a peaceful place was erroded revealing the desolate wasteland that it had become with what remained of the buildings burning and what few people could be seen now turned to stone burning to ash. Her mother's pristeene white robes had become tattered and marked with red stains of blood.
"Why he left me alive all this time I do not know, but I fear I won't be long for the afterlife." Raven's mother spoke saddened to see all this and broke from the hug so that now her hands were on her daughter's shoulders. "Go, and try to make the most of what's left of the time you have."
"Mom, come with me please?" Raven had begged the woman with tears swelling up and spilling over from her eyes not wanting to leave her behind. "I don't wanna be alone, I can't be alone when this happens!"
"I'm sorry, all I can do is buy you some time to return to Earth. But remember, you aren't alone. You've got your friends fighting beside you, and they won't give up on you so you shouldn't give up either." Her mother then told Raven while creating a magic circle in the air and kissed her daughter's forehead before continuing to say "Remember I love you dearly. Now GO!"
Raven had been sent through the circle by her mother as she'd reached out while returning to earth calling "MOTHEEERRR!" once more being sent through that strange light she'd gone thorugh to get to Azarath, only now it was sending her back to Earth.
We cut to the others as they were fighting against Vlad in an underground chamber that they had found and before he could blast them stones surrounded by Raven's energy slammed into him striking up up against the wall. Though he'd broken it apart Raven looked at them with tears in her eyes and looking really angry floating down to him.
"Well, come on blast me to ashes. Or did your Master order you not to hurt me? Isn't that the deal, keep his precious Gem safe?" She'd taunted growling out the word Master with disgust which confused her friends. "I have a message for my Father tell him to forget it, I'm no more his pawn than Danielle is yours." She'd spat before then blasting Vlad with her black energy with the white outlines sending him skipping across the ground like a rock skipping across watter.
Vlad then smirked getting up and spitting out green ectoplasmic blood "Tell him yourself when you see him next. Enjoy the final moments you have with your friends because soon it will all be over." he'd spoken before then phasing through the ground and disappearing.
"Raven, what did you mean, your father?" Jake questioned asking just what was going on and she'd sighed in response taking a deep breath to calm herself a bit.
After calming herself she'd turned to look at her friends and began to speak gesturing to the mark on her forehead saying "The Mark of Skath belongs to my father, a demon by the name of Trigon.."
