"Umm, I know we're friends," Marty started awkwardly avoiding eye contact and determinedly looking at her shoulder.
"And I'm glad we're friends," he said still looking embarrassed.
"But I don't want to be just friends anymore, I like you" he blurted out looking up at her for the first time.
Rory considered. She had considered Marty loads of times but she had always come to the conclusion that she liked Logan more. On the other hand, Logan had been acting like an ass hole lately.
"I like you too" she said as she leaned forward for the kiss. It turned out to be surprisingly good and she was actually disappointed when it ended. She was about to go in for a second one when she caught sight of the time.
"Fudge! I'm so sorry Marty, I promised Paris I'd chat to her for a stupid project" Rory said frustratedly.
"No it's fine. When do you wanna meet again?" Marty said with the eagerness of a child presented with chocolate.
"Tomorrow morning?" Rory suggested.
"Tomorrow morning." Marty confirmed
Rory hurried off down the corridor pondering whether she had made the right decision. She was so absorbed in her thought that she ran right into someone.
"Jeez, ace" Logan said catching her as she topples off balance.
"I'm so sorr- Wait, I thought you were still in the restaurant with Colin and Finn!?" Rory asked confused.
"I just thought that I left tonight unfinished with you, Infact, I wanted to ask you a question," he began, smiling at her.
He began to play with her hair, coiling it around his fingers. It sent a tingle of electricity down Rory but she removed his fingers. She watched his face as a look of pain, confusion and hurt shot across his face.
"What's changed about you, ace?" he asked smoothening his face to conceal his emotion and acting falsely bright.
Rory considered, should she tell him about Marty? After all why shouldn't she?
"Umm, I just got a boyfriend" she said avoiding all contact. All his features drooped and Rory suddenly had the feeling that she would do anything to make him happy again. A moments silence.
"Really, anyone I know?" Logan said an ominous tone in his voice.
"Marty" Rory practically whispered. Every part of Logan seemed to shrivel. Normally, it would have been quite comical to watch all his features sadden. But when it was with Logan it was different.
Rory gasped as she heard Logan's voice tremble for the first time, "I have to go Ace- Rory, see you around" he stroked rory's cheek as he walked off.
Rory saw that same pain shoot through his face. She stood frozen as she watched his back disappear. She felt an urge of intense regret. She sighed, mixed emotions, and finally reached the dorm. She fumbled with the key and opened it.
"Finally, where were you? You promised that I could be your romantic therapist!" Paris said without a welcome.
"Hello to you too" Rory said grumbling.
She was about to tell Paris to fuck off when she realised that maybe a romantically therapist was actually what she needed.
"Never mind where I was, lets get this thing over with already" Rory said
Paris insisted on Rory having a clipboard,
"Write down if I say anything socially unacceptable" she had said.
"Fine" Rory moaned.
"Ok so, what is your romantic status, Single, Boyfriend, not formally but have had sex, or someone you like" Paris asked in a business manner.
"Boyfriend, I'm with Marty"
"Rory don't get personal! So any issues with your relationship? Please expand your answer"
"Umm" Rory started not knowing how to phrase it.
"I need more than that!" Paris said.
"I'm getting there!" Rory retorted.
"So, I like Marty, I really do, and I'm happy to be his girlfriend but then I bumped into Logan and I felt the same electricity as I had with Jess and Dean and I felt sad when he walked away. Where the hell does that put me?"
"Let's narrow down what exactly the problem is" Paris said thoughtfully.
"It means that I don't bloody know what my own feelings mean!" Rory blurted out agitatedly.
"Ok"Paris said Rory saw her noting down 'Alexthymia' (google)
"So basically you don't know who your heart wants to date" Paris summarised.
"Pretty much" Rory replied.
"Ok! Time for solutions!" Paris exclaimed, professionally excited.
"Date both guys?" she suggested.
"I already said yes to Marty so it would be disloyal, cross that one off the list" Rory explained
"Pro's and Con's list?" Paris asked.
"I've known from experience they aren't the best. Believe me." Rory said
"DO you have any better ideas?" Paris asked.
"Pro's and cons list it is" Rory confirmed.
