A\N: My third sickness oneshot is a Shadowhunters one and because I love the relationship between Clary and Jonathan, this is a brother/sister sickness oneshot.

Oneshot 3 title: Sleep little sister (Shadowhunters)

Oneshot 3 summary: Clary can't sleep and it's making her sick. Tired of seeing his little sister not sleeping, Jonathan helps her sleep.

Jonathan Morgenstern watches as his little sister finishes her fourth cup of coffee from where he's leaving against the door. He's been watching her for days, watches as she fights the exhaustion plaguing her tiny form. He's considered placing a sleeping rune on her but knows his sister would never go for it. She'd never get him that close to her with a Stele, not even her own. He hates that his sister is fighting the tiredness she's most likely been feeling for weeks.

He decides to make his presence known by walking into the kitchen, smiling at Clary. "Morning, little sister." He says as he meets his sister's tired green eyes. Clary smiles at him, looking up from her drawing pad.

"Morning, Jonathan, what are we doing today?" She asks, moving to pour herself a fifth cup of coffee before he can stop her. The adopted son of Lilith stops cracking the eggs he had gotten out of the fridge into a bowl and thinks about the day ahead. It's only 8:30 and it's freezing and he doesn't want to go out and potentially get her sick, so they could have a day inside. Yes, they'll stay inside and maybe she'll get some sleep. He looks at his redheaded little sister and smiles at her.

"You know what, what do you say to just staying inside today? Be lazy and watch movies?" He suggests to her as she sits black down, cradling her cup of coffee in her hand. "I'd like that." Jonathan nods before he goes back to whisking the eggs and making his sister a breakfast omelet with ham, cheese and pieces of bacon.

Clary puts the frying pan Jonathan used to make their omelets on the draining board and fights off a yawn. She can't remember the last time she had a full night's sleep. It had to be before she got arrested by the Clave for 'digging up Valentine's grave.' She just can't close her eyes and fall asleep, no matter what she does, no matter how much she exhausts herself and she's exhausted. She knows her brother is worried about her: she felt him watching her from the doorway. The redheaded Shadowhuntwer is glad he suggested that they should have a lazy day, she can't remember she last had one and she just wants a day to do nothing.

"Thanks for cleaning up, Clary." Jonathan says as he kisses her forehead in a brotherly fashion. In spite of her tiredness, she smiles at him in response and takes his empty plate, putting it in the sink to wash later. Brother and sister are quiet for a few minutes.

"I'm going to get a shower and get dressed, do you need anything?" Jonathan asks, Clary shakes her head and watches as her brother walks away.

Jonathan walks into the living room dressed in sweatpants and a black long sleeved t-shirt, his hair damp with shower water. He sees his little sister sitting on one of the couches, the big screen tv on. In the coffee table is a bowl of popcorn and mundane treats his sister would've eaten before she found out about the Shadow World. His sister has changed into her own sweatpants and a t-shirt and is staring at the tv.

"Clary?" He asks as he sits down next to her. He sees his sister's green eyes full of tears. Oh little sister. He thinks to himself as he puts his arm around her shoulder and pulls her into him. Sobs wrack his little sister's frame as she leans into him. Jonathan kisses her head and pulls her into his lap and simply holds her as she cries.

That's all he can do and he doesn't like not doing anything else. It makes him feel weak and he hates feeling weak.

Clary's sobs turn to sniffles after only two minutes crying in her brother's lap. Instead of getting off her brother, she just lays her head on his chest and closes her eyes, hoping that the crying has finally made her exhausted enough to get at least a little bit of sleep.

She hears Jonathan's soothing voice telling her "sleep little sister."

So she does, in the arms of her big brother.

A/N: I know that Jonathan is OOC and that it's short but I think it's important to show Jonathan as a living big brother rather than just showing him as the villain who wants to hurt the Shadow World and that he truly cares about his little sister and her well-being, so enjoy Angels.
