Time for the second chapter.
As you may know, Lloyd was the first villain to be faced in the series outside of the pilot. Though he wasn't much of a villain. He simply wanted candy.
Chapter 2: I Want Candy
As soon as the heroes arrived on the village, a villager explained what was going on.
"Can you help us? A small boy keeps stealing our candy!" exclaimed the villager.
They heard laughter in the distance.
If this kept up, where would they get their sugar rush?
They didn't know what they would do without their chocolate bars and Laffy Taffy. Those always cracked them up.
'My first opponent is a little boy? Well, I suppose we have to start somewhere." noted Anne.
"Yeah...Sensei Wu had me do small tasks too." spoke Kai.
He said it was important for a ninja to know their limits.
And yes, Kai agreed with him.
They saw the boy soon enough.
"I'm Lloyd Garmadon! Hand me all your candy!" exclaimed Lloyd.
"Lloyd Garmadon? You don't suppose he's related to Lord Garmadon, is he?" asked Anne. There were enough stories about him to keep one awake at night. Though she had to admit, she did enjoy a good scare every now and then.
"It's possible." answered Cole.
"He does dress like him, doesn't he?" asked Kai.
And of course, the name Lloyd Garmadon sounded very similar to Lord Garmadon.
They attempted to grab him, but he ran away.
"Don't try to stop me from stealing candy!" exclaimed Lloyd.
He would not rest until his sweet tooth was satisfied.
"He's a fast boy, isn't he?" questioned Cole.
"He sure is." nodded Zane.
"How are we supposed to catch him?" asked Jay.
Perhaps they could try splitting up.
It would be a good idea for one of them to stand guard outside the entrance of the village as well.
"I have an idea." noted Anne.
She decided to set a trap for the boy.
Sure enough, he noticed it.
"Hey, a candy bar!" exclaimed Lloyd.
Lloyd decided to grab it...
...and was suspended in the air by the ankle.
'i figured that would work." noted Anne.
'This isn't over!" exclaimed Lloyd.
"Nicely done! You're not as good as us yet but you're off to a good start!" shouted Kai.
"I appreciate the flattery." remarked Anne.
"To be honest, I don't think he and I are so different. We both have a sweet tooth." admitted Cole.
"True. But you don't steal candy, do you?" asked Zane.
"No, I do not." answered the boy. That was where the difference lied.
The next day, an alarm went off again.
Apparently, Lloyd did not learn his lesson.
However, this time he brought two skeletons with him.
They were skeletons that they recognized.
"Kruncha? Nuckal?" asked Kai.
"I was wondering where they had gone off to after we defeated Lord Garmadon." questioned Jay.
"I have to admit, it was smart of you to bring help this time." noted Zane. Before it had been five against one.
"I sure did! I met them at the video game store!" exclaimed Lloyd.
"They had good video games on sale!" remarked Nuckal.
"Wait, didn't your leader decide to betray Lord Garmadon?" questioned Zane.
Nuckal remembered how their leader wanted the power of the golden weapons for himself.
But his betrayal had backfired on him spectacularly.
"We could never betray a little boy!" exclaimed Kruncha.
"Seems fair." noted Cole.
Fortunately, Nuckal and Kruncha weren't much of a match for Cole and Jay.
"Darn it! We lost again!" exclaimed Kruncha.
"We need to work on fighting these ninja..." noted Nuckal.
Especially since Lord Garmadon was no longer with them.
But Lloyd seized the opportunity to get away.
"Don't let him escape!" exclaimed Kai.
On the way out, Lloyd noticed a box of Twinkies.
"This seems familiar...eh, it's probably nothing." spoke Lloyd.
As it turned out, Anne had set up a pit trap.
"Aw man!" exclaimed the boy.
"I hope you learned your lesson this time." spoke Anne.
She did decide to let Lloyd out...eventually.
"Again, good work!" exclaimed Kai.
"I appreciate that." said Anne.
The next day, the alarm went off again.
Unfortunately, Lloyd had not learned his lesson this time.
This time, he had brought a zombie.
"I guess Lloyd imagines himself as a necromancer." noted Cole.
This zombie was female and had black hair.
Judging from the fact that she dressed in red, this zombie was a fire specialist. She also had red eyes.
"What was her name again? I'm not familiar with original characters." noted Lloyd.
"My name is Famis." explained the zombie.
Kai decided to fight her.
However, their fire powers seemed to cancel each other out.
"Is there a particular reason you sided with a zombie?" asked Cole as he fought Kruncha again.
"Well, she is undead like the skeletons." admitted Jay. She blended in fairly well.
"We offset each other's weakness." explained the skeleton of earth.
"Your weaknesses?" asked Jay.
"Yeah. Skeletons are vulnerable to crushing weapons, and zombies vulnerable to slashing weapons. But we resist slashing weapons and zombies crushing weapons." explained Nuckal.
"That somehow makes sense." noted Cole.
"Nuckal, you just revealed our weaknesses!" exclaimed Kruncha.
"In my defense, I also revealed our strengths." noted Nuckal.
"I'll give you that one." spoke the skeleton of earth.
Cole summoned a boulder to topple Kruncha and Nuckal.
"Ow!" exclaimed the skeletons.
Meanwhile, Famis noticed Zane.
She could tell how smart he was, and she licked her lips.
She imagined Zane's brain as a roast turkey.
"Hmm, your friend over there seems full of brains. Mind if I have a bite?" asked Famis.
"Yes, I do!" exclaimed Kai.
"Sorry, can't control my appetite!" answered the zombie.
She decided to bite into Zane's head.
But she injured her teeth.
"I don't get it. Why is his head so hard?" asked Famis.
On the lighter side of things, she did not feel pain. It was one of the things that came with being a zombie. Though it was a mixed bag.
"I don't know, but you're not feasting on his brains!" exclaimed Kai.
"Thanks for looking out for me, Kai." spoke Zane.
Kai defeated Famis using his sword.
"I wouldn't hit a girl normally, but zombies don't feel pain, do they?" asked Kai.
"No, but I do feel exhausted." spoke Famis.
She fell on the ground and began to rest.
Lloyd discovered another trap.
However, he didn't fall for it this time.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." noted Lloyd.
"Yeah...I figured you would catch on after a while." admitted Anne.
"Better to catch on than be caught!" exclaimed the boy.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew from Anne's hand.
Lloyd ended up falling right below the trap, and a net fell on top of him.
"Darn it! The weatherman didn't even say it was going to be windy today!" exclaimed Lloyd.
"Does this mean I did that?" asked Anne.
Perhaps she too had a elemental power.
"It looks like you have a wind affinity." noted Zane.
"I sure do!" exclaimed Anne.
They decided to tell Sensei Wu the good news. He was always happy when he discovered that one of his pupils had made progress in their training.
"Anne's an elemental master!" shouted Jay.
"What element is she?" questioned Wu.
"It's wind!" exclaimed Cole.
Sensei sighed.
"What's wrong?" asked Kai.
"Nothing." answered Wu. Though people imagined him as being a successful person, he in fact had failed once a long time ago.
"I wonder if Lloyd will keep on trying to steal candy. Though to be fair, trapping him is rather fun." noted Anne.
Perhaps she should consider bringing a camera so that she could video tape it next time.
It might also be a good idea to come up with more ways to trap him.
"If he decides to cause trouble again, you should be ready. I was thinking we could work on your spinjutsu next." spoke Wu.
Anne decided to spin around but got dizzy.
"Oof." spoke the girl.
"Success does not come overnight." noted Wu.
He worked hard to get where he was today. But it had definitely paid off.
Ninjago was pretty peaceful thanks to him. But he knew better than to take peace for granted with his brother around.
Anne tried again...and this time she succeeded.
"Yes!" cheered Anne.
"Wow, you managed to do it before the rest of us did!" exclaimed Jay.
Perhaps Anne was a fast learner.
"There is a justification for that. Wind masters specialize in creating tornadoes." noted Wu.
"I guess that's why it came faster to me." spoke Anne.
"However, I suggest you continue to work on it. The spinjutsu works for both offense and defense." explained the sensei.
"Can it reflect projectiles?" asked the girl.
"Yes. It's particularly useful when you're being attacked from multiple sides." noted Sensei Wu.
"I wonder what Lloyd is up to." noted Anne.
Something told her that being mischievous ran in his blood.
"Why do I have to keep losing?" asked the son of Garmadon.
"You've got a long way before you can be as threatening as your father." noted Famis. Though she found it admirable that he wished to follow in his father's footsteps.
Reluctantly, Lloyd admitted she was right.
He was at a loss to what he should do next.
"What should I do?" questioned Lloyd.
Suddenly, he came across what appeared to be a tomb.
The skeletons and Famis noticed it.
"That's...the Anocondrai Tomb!" exclaimed Kruncha.
Nuckal gasped. He might not be the smartest skeleton in the world, but even he knew how dangerous the Anocondrai were. They said they were the deadliest of all the Serpentine.
The three of them fled.
"Darn it! Where did my friends go?" asked Lloyd.
It seemed luck was not on his side.
He decided to open the tomb.
"Hello? Anyone home?" questioned Lloyd.
"Free at last!" exclaimed a serpentine voice.
"Wha-" shouted the boy.
"Tell me, who is the one that has released me?" asked the Anacondrai.
"It's Lloyd. Lloyd Garmadon." explained Lloyd.
"Lloyd Garmadon? Son of Lord Garmadon?" questioned the snake.
"Yes!" exclaimed Lloyd.
The Anocondrai revealed himself.
"That's the biggest snake I've ever seen!" shouted the boy.
"If you want big, you should check out the Great Devourer." remarked the purple snake.
"Who are you?" asked Lloyd.
"Pythor Chumsworth. Last of my tribe." explained Pythor.
"Last of your tribe? What happened to everyone else?" questioned the boy.
Lloyd noticed that were Serpentine skeletons all around.
He wondered why Kruncha and Nuckal had decided to flee. He figured that they would feel right at home with all the skeletons on the ground.
"Let's just say that we ran out of options when it came to food." noted Pythor.
Lloyd gulped.
"Now that I'm free, I should get to work on freeing the rest of my people. We've been cooped up for a very long time. I say it's about time we get some fresh air." noted the purple snake.
"Where are the rest of your people?" asked the boy.
"On this map." explained Pythor.
He pulled out a map detailing the location of the five Serpentine tombs.
It seemed that someone was trying hard to keep them apart.
"As soon as I unleash the four tribes, I shall be able to rule all over Ninjago!" exclaimed Pythor.
"Does this mean I'll get all the candy I can eat?" asked Lloyd. As one might imagine, he had had dreams of candy more than once.
One of them even had him go to Candyland.
"Huh. Sure, whatever." answered the snake.
"Where should we get started?" questioned the boy.
"I would recommend the Hypnobrai tribe. I happen to be good friends with General Skales, their leader." explained Pythor. By that logic, the Hypnobrai tribe would be the easiest to persuade to join his cause.
"Good idea!" exclaimed Lloyd.
Pythor and Lloyd left to search for the Hypnobrai Tomb.
"Hmm...this boy will make for a fine appetizer." thought Pythor.
But he could be of use to him for the time being, so he would keep him alive...for now.
In the past, the tribes had been war with each other.
But he planned to change that.
He figured that was the reason why they had all been sealed away. Pythor imagined that if they had put aside their differences and worked together, the humans wouldn't have gained the upper hand.
Besides, there was a prophecy he decided to fulfil. One that would require the tribes to be united as one.
If he succeeded in fulfilling this prophecy, the Serpentine would have their revenge on the humans for sealing them all away in the first place.
The third reason for uniting the tribes was...well, being alone for so long had drove him a little crazy.
So he would feel better if he was with his own people...even if they weren't from the same tribe as he was.
"Enjoy your peace while you can, surface-dwellers...for it will not last for long." thought Pythor.
Seeing as Lord Garmadon recruited skeletons to join his cause, I figured his son could join the same. And yes, I'm taking creative liberties with the source material. I'll try to make it feel like the show though.
I'm aware that Morro is also a wind master. But given that Nuckal and Kruncha have the same elements as Jay and Cole, I don't think it's a big deal.
I think I might give Morro a different power though to compensate. Maybe the power of storm?
And yes, Lloyd is in danger! Oh no! Though he is technically a bad guy.
