After the presentation at the library, C.G. and the others had gone back to the lab to return some of the things they had taken with them.
"Those kids were something else," said Ethan.
"I did not expect them to ask so many questions," said Luis.
"At least they were interested in the whole thing, they especially liked being able to pet Squibbon who I think liked it back," said C.G.
"And it looks like you're happy with how things turned out too," said Emily.
"I am," said C.G.
"My original worries came from the fact I always looked forward to helping my father with his research and everything, but we know how that turned out," she said.
"Yeah, it came crashing down not too long ago," said Ethan.
"Exactly, so I did not want to get those kids' hopes up and the same thing happen to them," said C.G.
"But then I saw their faces and realized that maybe letting them hope a little would be alright because hoping to find a good future for my family felt great for me no matter how it turned out," she said.
"Of course it's alright," said Luis.
"Yeah, it gives them room to think and come up with ideas for their own futures," said Emily.
"I really want to know what the future holds for all of them," said C.G. while leaning back in her chair to look at the ceiling.
"Well you do have a way to do just that," said Ethan.
"No, I'm done traveling through time and insead I'll live here waiting to see what the future holds as it comes to me," said C.G.
"Good, because we don't want you running off on some crazy adventure," said Emily.
"At least not without us," said Luis while kneeling down next to C.G.
"Don't worry, I'd never go anywhere without all of you, after all I'd be nothing without my crew," said C.G before kissing him.
"Ew, break it up!" said Ethan with a laugh while tossing a pillow at the two, getting a laugh out of everyone.
