Possible spoilers for Ninjago Dragons Rising Part 2

Nya was sitting outside on the roof of the monastery looking at the stars. With Lloyd still unconscious there wasn't much Nya could do except watch over Kai and Wyldfire and make sure they didn't burn the monastery to the ground.

Her thoughts mostly consisted of missing a certain someone. In her hands was her precious Yin-Yang medallion. It had been left in the monastery untouched after the merge, much to Nya's relief.

She also found Jay's part of the medallion being held by Mr Cuddlywomp. Now she had a full medallion instead of one half. A half that should belong to her Yang. Nya noticed someone coming outside. She looked to see the tech ninja Sora, presumably training with her powers.

Sora's hands began to glow a fuschia color, seemingly trying to connect to the nearby mech but instead, the mech's engine started to smoke.

"Come on stupid powers, why won't you work?" Sora exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air which caused her headphones to go up in the air and smack on the ground. "I just don't care anymore!"

Nya couldn't help but remember her time training to become the master of water. Boy, that was a rough time for her. "Maybe I should help." Nya thought.

Just as Sora was picking up her headphone, Nya leaped down from her spot on the roof. "Not caring about your powers isn't the best way to deal with them."

Sora looked up to see Nya and yelped. "How much of that did you see?" Sora said, forgetting about her headphones.

Nya picked up Sora's headphones and handed them back to her. "The entire thing. I was stargazing on the roof." Nya explained much to the girl's dismay." "Oh".

"I know I should be training on my powers with more care but I just don't know."

Nya decided to get personal, which is something she doesn't do often, maybe except with her Yang.

"When I was training to become a Master of Water I was in complete denial. I was a Samurai, not a ninja. I mean I fought bad guys with gadgets and a super cool mech!"

"You had your very own mech!" Sora grew intrigued.

"Built it myself from scratch! I had a lot of free time when the others went on missions."

"That's so cool!" Sora looked at the girl with starry eyes.

"So why did you want to be a ninja?"

"Well, I didn't! "Nya took a step back. "I wasn't given much of a choice since we were facing an angry ghost who possessed Lloyd and wanted to curse all the 16 realms! And since water is the only thing that can defeat a ghost I was technically the only one who could save the world!"

"Wait wait ghosts are real?" Sora asked, looking concerned. "Mhm," Nya nodded nonchalantly.

"Oh lord." Sora shook her head.

Nya continued with her story. "During my training, I was so frustrated, I stopped caring, which somehow led to my powers working better than I hoped. But when I needed my powers most, they failed me. No, I guess I failed myself." Nya sighed.

Nya looked up to see a look of fear in Sora's eyes. "Whoops didn't mean to be a Gloomy Gus I just-"

"It's fine, but I guess I experienced something like that recently,'' Sora began. "First I nearly killed you when we were fighting dragons, then when I was fighting the Claws of Imperium, I could have escaped and saved Sora by using my elemental powers, but no I got captured instead." Sora leaned against her mech. Nya raised her hand in confusion. Did she just hear that correctly? "Uhm?" "I named myself after the dragon from Dr LaRow's lab."

That answers one question. And two you know I don't want you to worry about what happened back then. Sure we may have almost died but that's just a day in the life of a ninja!"

Sora still had a pale look on her face. Nya put her hands on Sora's shoulders. "You'll do better next time, trust me," Nya spoke in a quiet but uplifting voice, a voice foreign to Sora. It was slightly different from the words of encouragement Lloyd said to her. Like a mother encouraging her daughter after losing a competition.

"Thank you, Nya." Sora looked up to Nya and smiled.

Nya couldn't help but smile as well.

"Though I think I could help fix your dashboard!" Nya offered. "Really! I wouldn't mind the help." Sora seemingly brought her toolbox out of nowhere.

The two began working on Sora's mech and chatting lightly. "So, uh, see any good stars up there?" Sora asked awkwardly but Nya just laughed.

That's when Nya dropped her medallion. Sora noticed it on the ground and Nya was too focused on the mech to notice.

"Hey, Nya I think you dropped this." Sora picked up the medallion and handed it back to Nya.

"Oh! Thanks, Sora. This is really important to me." Nya began to polish it with her sleeve immediately before putting it back in her pocket.

"What was it?" "It's a Yin-Yang medallion. It's a tradition in Ninjago where a person gives half of a Yin-Yang medallion to a significant other to signify a promise to love each other forever." Nya explained waiving the wrench in her hand.

"A promise to love each other forever?" Sora really wanted to know more for some reason.

"So who did you make a promise to?"

Nya put the wrench down and looked at the girl hoping she wasn't tearing up.

"It was Jay," she smiled. "The lightning ninja?"

"Yes," Nya looked at the sky. They looked different from when she was looking alone on the roof.

"I remember when he asked me to be his Yang. We were literally on the verge of losing to the Oni and he just asked me out of the blue. I had a lot on my mind when asked. Mostly that I knew I had to say yes."

"So you knew you wanted to be with Jay, no hesitation?" Sora was still curious.

"Of course, I love him." This was the biggest smile Sora had seen on Nya. The smile of someone in love.

This was a bit foreign to Sora seeing as though her parents barely gave any form of encouragement let alone such love. Was it too much to ask to be loved like that?

"I am disappointed in myself for not realizing what Jay was trying to do earlier. I guess I was too preoccupied with flying the bounty toward the city of dark clouds."

"And the btw flying the bounty is my job! Nobody can do it better than me, well except for Zane or Pixal but they're nindriods!" Nya boasted confidently that to be fair she was telling the truth.

"Well, that explains how Lloyd keeps managing to keep crashing the bounty." Sora chuckled at the memories.

"I'd be happy to teach you sometime."

"Really!" Sora perked up. "Sure, better to have someone else fly so Lloyd doesn't crash the ship."

The two laughed wholeheartedly. The felt much better.

"Welp just finished with the engine. It should be all

better now." Nya said, slamming the front down.

"Thank you Nya. You really helped." Sora smiled.

"I didn't do much, I just helped you fix your engine.

"On the contrary," Sora tried to use her powers once again and this time noticeable changes had been made. It wasn't perfect but she was getting there.

"I guess I did help you." That's when Nya closed her eyes and was quiet for a moment. "Hey Arin, you can come out now." Nya said not looking back. The door opened to reveal a giddy Arin.

"Let me guess, you heard our entire conversation." Sora nudged her friend. "No well I did happen to hear about ghosts and Jay and I kinda didn't want to ruin the moment!"

"That was the entire conversation!" "Sorry," Arin said sheepishly. "I got worried when you left your bed and didn't come back."

"It's fine." Sora gave her best friend a side hug and led him back inside.

Nya took out her Yin-Yang medallion and held it close. She looked up to the sky and whispered. "I will find you, Sparky!"

"Nya are you coming?" called Sora. "Coming!"

Location unknown:

"Who are you?" said a familiar figure with curly brown hair looking at the stars.

"Hey you coming in?" said a dark figure.

"Yeah, I'll be right there."

"Thinking about something?"

"You could say that."

He couldn't get his mind off something, someone calling to him. Somebody very important to him.

But who was it?

~The End~

Author Notes:

Well, I have been feeling very angsty surrounding the spoilers for Part 2 of Dragons Rising. I haven't been able to finish any Ninjago videos because of that so instead I'm writing some fanfiction. Yay!

Srsly I did not expect to be actually writing some Ninjago fanfiction. This is huge! Thank you so much for reading, and hopefully you're not suffering as much as I am.

(Also let me give the o.g ninja super stealth skills. They aren't ninjas if they can't sense someone's presence. Sorry, too much Naruto!)

Oh and before anyone complains Jay and Nya are each other's Yang. I know it's a bit weird but I feel like people are going to complain either way.
