Chapter 1: Start of the Show

Harry and his friends found themselves somewhere dark. "Where are we?" Seamus asked. "I don't know. I can't see anything." Dean said. "Luna? You there?" Neville asked into the dark. "I'm right here, Neville." Luna answered. "OW! Who stepped on my paw?" Intress asked. "Oh, sorry. That was me. I didn't mean it." Cho said. "Uh guys, I'm not really comfortable in the dark." Peyton whimpered. "Harry, I think we should get out our wands." Hermione suggested. "Wait." Harry said, stopping everyone. "I hear something." Everyone listened as music started to play.

"What is that music?" Ron asked. "I don't know. But I think I've heard it before." Harry said. "I think I have too." Hermione added. Just then, yellow eyes started swarming around. "Argh! What are those?!" Peyton screamed. "Eyes?" Sarah guessed. "Why are there eyes?" Sly asked. They continued to puzzle their thoughts on the eyes as the music continued. "Wow. This music is actually getting quite catchy." Seamus said, starting to 'dance' to the music. "I think you need to take some dancing lessons." Padma said in amusement. More eyes appeared as the music started to slow down, then speed up, then finally end. As the music ended, the entire place lit up in a moon-ish light. A stage of sorts filled with dumpsters and recyclables and olden household furniture. But everything was larger, as if they were the size of a cat. The heroes stared in awe at where they were. "What is this place?" Neville asked. "We're on some sort of stage." Hermione said. "Now I know this seems familiar somehow." Harry said.

Suddenly, something moved from behind them. "Who's there?" Carmelita asked, pulling out her shock gun. The rest followed at pulling out their wands and gear, pointing them at the shadowed figure. Just then, what looked like headlights went by, shining on the heroes and the figure, revealing a cat-like face. The figure hissed and scattered into a pipe. Carmelita was wide-eyed at what she saw. "Did that look like a cat to anyone else?" She asked.

Just then, another cat appeared on a chest. Another crawled along the floor. Another appeared, sniffing into the air. Another climbed onto a chair up on the high left. 2 more tiptoed and tumbled to the floor, looking from right to left. Another appeared near the stage. Another climbed through some clutter. The first one crawled out of the pipe. The heroes looked at the cats with great confusion. "What's with these cats?" George asked. "I have no idea." Cho said. The grey cat crawled down from the chest and over to the heroes, then stood up on his feet. "What's going on?" Peyton asked.

The heroes were confused at the last line. "What do who do?" Neville asked. Harry shushed him as the cats started to break off, making the heroes scatter to the sides.

"Yeah, I went to see it once the summer before our 6th year at Hogwarts." Harry explained. "Wait. What exactly is a Jellicle cat?" Ron asked. And then, as if on cue, one of the cats slid up.
