Hi readers. I been having some big writers block as of late and been trying to get the creative juices flowing. But I recently had a big inspiration hit me and had to write it down and here it is. Based off a few songs and brainstorming, this is gonna be a multi-chapter sorta fluff piece. And I now have a beta so that means the quality should be loads better. Special thanks to that beta Neko.

I have the second chapter done and in the process of being beta'd and will be starting the third shortly. I want to keep this idea going strong until I can finish then hopefully I can get back at my other stories and get them done.

So a simple first chapter to start. Hopefully you all like it. Let me know what you think in the reviews.

Chapter 1

Tim's eyes drifted open. His eyes slowly adjusted to the sunlight around him and to the tree above him. His memories then started to come back to him. He was laying in the shade of a tree. A cool breeze occasionally swept across his face. He could feel the grass scratching at his back where his t-shirt rode up. Birds singing and distant chatter filled his ears.

He then remembered he wasn't alone.

He wrapped an arm around the sleeping figure laying on his chest. He glanced down to see the long blonde hair of his partner as she lay undisturbed and fast asleep, clinging tightly to him. He rubbed her bare arm and adjusted his shirt. He let out a yawn and felt tired again. He looked at her again and for a moment racked his brain to remember her name, feeling like he should already know. Then just as quickly, as sleep overtook him again, he remembered.

Kelly.

Tim's eyes popped open. He was now back in his bed. Judging from the natural light in the room, he judged it was early morning. As if to confirm it, his alarm went off, waking him even more. Quickly turning it off, he felt the stirring of his partner next to him.

"Morning," Delilah said sleepily as she stretched her body. Her arms draped over Tim.

The married couple looked at each other's faces smiling.

"Did you sleep ok hun," Delilah asked.

"Yeah," Tim replied softly.

"Good," Delilah replied happily. She pushed herself up and made her way to her wheelchair, "That's three nights in a row again. Hopefully that's a good sign."

"I dreamed of her again."

Delilah stopped mid-motion and sat there frozen for half a second before pushing herself back, laying back onto her husband and looking up him excitedly.

"Your mysterious dream blondie," she asked grinning.

"Not as much of a mystery this time," he told her, "I have a name."

"Oooh, please do tell."

"Kelly."

"Hmm, she sounds like a Kelly. Did you hear the name?"

"No, I just… knew."

"Hmm. Well at least with a name it'll make it easier to find the real life counterpart."

"And tell her what? Hi, this may sound weird but you appeared in many of my dreams. That makes you the girl of my dreams. My name is Tim and my wife wanted me to find you."

"No. Obviously you will have more finesse with your flirting."

"Wait hang on," Tim said as he held back a chuckle, "What makes you think I'm gonna flirt with her?"

"She's the girl of your dreams Tim, literally."

"I don't even know a thing about her."

"You know her name and you know each other enough to cuddle multiple times."

All Tim could do was look at her with a slack jawed smile and try not to laugh.

"Anyways, let's get some breakfast since we're up early enough," Delilah said as she pushed herself up again and toward her wheelchair, "I'll check if they sent me that file for your case."

Tim silently agreed with her and stretched his body before getting out of bed himself. With three nights in a row of good sleep after a long string of a lack of them as of late, Tim wanted to take advantage to make progress on his team's latest case.

A dead marine named Kevin Ramirez found in his home, it was found that he was a part of an inside scheme with his partner Shawn Jules at an insurance firm where they embezzled thousands of dollars. With a lot of emails and paperwork, there wasn't a lot of footwork to be had so far. It was when they confirmed Shawn's alibi cleared him of the murder, did they hit a roadblock. By chance, while discussing the case with Delilah during a lunch, she recognized the names. Sure enough with some digging, she found documents and emails connected to an unrelated case she was assisting with and a third name popped up: Scott Keys. A third associate to the scheme.

With the promise to have everything related to Keys emailed to her the next day, sure enough the emails were in her inbox which she forwarded to Tim who in turn poured over them at his desk upon getting to work. With the some time spent reading he found a conversation between him and Jules mentioning threats to Ramirez. After a short summary to Gibbs, they got to work. Torres and Ellie went to bring in Keys as Tim and Gibbs met Jules in interrogation. With the new evidence in hand, Jules had no choice but to finally admit that Keys wanted him dead for wanting to end the scheme. Though he insisted that he could never go through with it, a claim Keys didn't support when he tried to run away from Torres and Ellie followed by his gun found in the trunk of his car. A signed confession later and the team was able to put an end to the case and call it a day.

It'd felt like a long day at first, yet Tim now felt like he wasn't gone from home for too long. The coffee mugs he forgot to rinse out looked fresh in the sink. After a quick wash, he started a new pot of coffee. Delilah arrived home by the time it was ready, thankful for the good timing. With full mugs, the married couple went to their living room and got into their usual spots, Delilah on the sofa with a book and Tim at his typewriter.

After some time Delilah was a few chapters in, while Tim hadn't even got a single word in. The only parts of the typewriter that he'd touched were the sides where he tapped his fingers. He stared at the blank page as if expecting words to appear on it on their own but, to his disappointment, none ever did.

"I just realized something," Delilah stated. Tim turned around in his chair to look at her as she closed her book and placed it in her lap, "It's too quiet."

Tim let out a soft sigh, knowing what she meant.

"Writers' block, hun?" Delilah asked empathically.

"No, no. I'm just having a little bit of…" Tim trailed off.

"Writers' block."

"Writers' block."

Tim let out a louder sigh as he rubbed his eyes.

"I just can't think of anything to write," he told her, "I'm coming up blank."

"Why not do some more free flow writing? Get the creative juices flowing."

"Same problem, I can't think of what to write about."

"What about that girl from your dreams? What was her name? Kelly?"

"Kelly, yeah."

"Yeah, why not write about her?"

"I don't know a thing about her though. I just barely learned her name. Before that it's just been bits and pieces of her. Most of them with her asleep. I don't even know what colors her eyes are."

"Then come up with something? They're your dreams."

"Wouldn't feel right. That would be cheating. Besides, what if she does turn out to be real?"

"Ok, you got me there. No making up details of your dream girlfriend."

"Hold on, don't say it like that," Tim said as he went to go join her on the sofa, "makes it sound like you're not important as my wife."

"I'm your dream wife," Delilah retorted, "so my importance is still there."

"Ok, good point. Just as long as you know that too."

Delilah grinned and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Besides, we don't know yet if she's my girlfriend," Tim continued.

"Tim, you've both been cuddling each other every time you see her and she's always in your arms when she's asleep. People don't just do that if they're not at least intimate with each other."

"Abby would."

"Abby doesn't count! She's a naturally cuddly person."

"Maybe Kelly's a cuddly person too."

"What happened to not making up details about her?"

"Ok fine. Tell you what, first chance I get to talk to her, I'll ask if we are dating."

"Thank you. And ask her to go into details about your first date because I wanna hear all about it."

"As you wish."

"Good boy."

Delilah grabbed Tim by his face and pulled him to her lips. What started as a single big kiss soon turned into many small pecks and long make out sessions. The married couple snuggled on the sofa, enjoying each other's touch before the tiredness of the night got to them.

Xxx

With a sharp snort, Tim jerked awake. Shaking off the tiredness, he realized he was sitting down instead of laying in his bed like he last remembered. He looked around and saw that he was at his desk except instead of his typewriter, a laptop sat in front of him. Looking closer he had a lot typed out but he didn't recognize what it was.

" Did I fall asleep writing," he thought to himself.

Stretching his body out, he decided to read it in the morning. Turning around, he was about to stand up when he noticed something was different about his living room. Actually, everything was different. He saw that he was no longer in his living room. Or he was, but it was his old living room in his apartment at Silver Springs. It was exactly as he remembered it before moving into Tony's old apartment with Delilah.

A turning of a page in the apartment caught his attention. He looked over expecting to see Delilah with her book. Instead there was an entirely different person with her back to him reading a book. Seeing her long blonde hair, Tim turned back to his desk in realization.

" I'm dreaming?" he wondered. " I'm dreaming. That's it!"

He looked back at the woman on his couch who seemed to not notice him.

"I'm lucid dreaming. What should I do?"

Thinking over a moment, he decided he must talk to her. Learn something before waking up. Upon standing though, his hand knocked over a mug that he forgot was there.

"Forgot? I didn't even know it was there."

"Are you ok?"

Tim looked up again to see the woman looking back at him in concern.

"Kelly?"

"Uh yeah, yea. I'm fine," Tim replied, quickly putting the mug back in place, "It's empty. I just accidently hit it while standing up."

Looking at her watch, Kelly closed her book and stood up. She was wearing a large t-shirt that exposed a shoulder, denim shorts, and fuzzy striped lounge socks that went up to just below her knees. She had her hair back in a long ponytail.

"It's getting pretty late," she said walking towards him, "we should head to bed."

"I'm fine," Tim replied as Kelly grabbed both his hands, "You don't need to stop your reading so soon."

"Nope. You haven't been sleeping so well lately so you need to get as much sleep as you can. Besides what if you oversleep again and your teammates come looking for you? I doubt you want Tony and Ziva finding out our secret before we can tell my dad, right?"

"Tony and Ziva?"

"Yeah you're right," Tim admitted, letting her lead him to his bedroom, "Will you be joining me?"

"Of course. I already told my parents that I'm staying over at a friend's place. Technically true. Besides, I'm already wearing my fuzzy socks so you know that means I'm already comfortable."

Kelly placed him sitting on his bed then went to his drawers to find an old t-shirt of his to wear. As she got changed, he laid onto his back and looked at her. Somehow it felt natural to see her take off her shirt and shorts and put on his shirt over her underwear. She then crawled onto the bed and to him, laying on her stomach and putting her head on his chest. She looked up at him with a loving smile.

Tim had so many questions to ask her but as soon as she gazed at him with those piercing blue eyes, they were quickly forgotten and nowhere to be found. Instead he had a strong feeling of adoration and warmth looking at her and he wanted nothing more than to have her in his arms again.

"Sweet dreams Tim," Kelly said. She then pushed herself up and gave him a kiss before turning to her side and laying her head on his shoulder. Tim then kissed her head, an action that brought a smile to her face, then closed his eyes.

As he felt his tiredness creep up on him, his mind started to buzz again.

"She's right. That would be the worst way to reveal our secret. Heck, what if Gibbs himself showed up to get me and saw me in bed with his daughter. I think his glare alone would kill me."

"Gibbs…."

"Kelly Gibbs."
