Happy Thanksgiving and welcome all to my newest and brand new fanfic, Yugioh: Land of the Champions! This story will see if three different duelists can meet up and try to win of the toughest tournaments they've ever been in. Now for the rules of the story. I will be using all of the current OCG/TCG rules of the game and also I'm using both the current OCG/TCG banlists (OCG Current: July 2023) - (TCG Current: June 2023) and combine them to make one list for the story (I will use banned cards if I have to and will update the story to use the newest ban list changes when I have to). Link and Pendulum monsters will be seen and I'm going to try to use decks I've never used before to make this a very fun story. I will also use cards made by myself, other writers and cards that are only in the manga and anime as well. Also, I'll be using American names, but if the Japanese names are better (Destiny Hero and Sin monsters for example) are better, I'll use the Japanese ones. Also, when I use a "Hero" monster, It'll stay as Hero instead of the TCG way of HERO and also, for cards that are created by me and others, I'll put in GY instead of graveyard. Also, this story takes place about 8 years after Yusei Fudo Defeated Z-One in one of the best duels ever seen by anyone. Also, the way I'm doing lifepoint counters will change and I'll be doing something new with them as well. With all of this said and done, let's get this story started! Like all of my stories, this story will be dedicated to my wonderful and loving mother who sadly passed away on September 1st, 2021 and my uncle who I lost on 2023. This is for the both of you!

Top floor of a skyscraper / Los Angeles, California

Inside of a well-lit office, A tall middle-aged man wearing a grey suit and with brown hair and glasses was watching a Computer screen. In the small office, 2 other guys that were his sons where wearing black suits as well and working on their laptops as well.
The one at the desk sighed and replied, "We need to find three duelists that will crush anyone in their path in the tournament we started up se we can recruit them for our team."
His older brother only nodded and then the younger guy looked at his cellphone and replied, "This is our lucky day right now. The Final Match of the Florida State Championship in Panama City Beach is wrapping up now and the final match looks like to be a good one, dad. We should look it up."
"Load it up for us, son."
He nodded as he quickly did so.

Panama City Beach Sporting Arena / Panama City Beach, Florida
4:30pm
At the arena, the final match of the Florida State Championship was going on. On the right side of the arena was a young woman named Serena Colemon. He was a tall 6'6 duelist that wore glasses who wore a beautiful purple skirt and a large red shirt and she a tattoo of a bald eagle on her chest (Below her neck and above her girls) and various flower tattoos on her left arm. Her side of the field had a Anarchist Monk Ranshin (ATK: 1,800) that was defending as well as 1 card facedown and 2 cards in her hand. Her opponent was a duelist about the same age as he was and his name was James Kirkman of Orlando, Florida. He were blue jeans and a white shirt and he was a thin guy as well. He had a faceup Battle Footballer (DEF: 2,100) and 1 facedown monster and 1 card in his hand and James just ended his turn.
(James LP: 3600) -ooooooooo- (Serena LP: 4500)
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Chow Sai the Ghost Stopper."
She played the card and a dark robed monk appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I equip him with Bound Wand."
A magic wand appeared in his heads (ATK: 1,900 - 2,300).
"Ghost Stopper, take it out."
He aimed his scepter and a burst of energy shot out and struck, blowing the android football player into little pieces of scrap metal.
"Ranshin, your turn."
His wooden staff let out a magic bolt of energy and it shot out and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and a bolt blew it to dust and she nodded and discarded Zubaba Knight and a Terraforming and drew 5 cards and then he discarded one and drew 5 cards of his own.
"I'll set a card and that's my turn now."
He drew a new card and resumed, "I activate my Monster Reborn."
Flame Ruler reappeared (ATK: 1,500) and she resumed, "I'll tribute it for my Infernal Flame Emperor!"
It vanished and the huge demonic-like Pyro appeared (ATK: 2,700).
"I'll banish a Flame Ruler and a Battle Footballer to destroy your spells and traps."
He banished both cards and the Bond Wand broke apart into small white shards (ATK: 2,300 - 1,900) and her facedown Mirror Wall shattered into small fiery shards.
"Destroy her Ranshin!"
The demonic Pyro let out a stream of flames and it struck, engulfing the monk and burning him to ashes (Serena LP: 4500 - 3600) and she resumed, "When this monster is destroyed, one of your monsters from your graveyard and I choose your Flame Tiger."
He nodded and and banished the card and resumed, "Your move, miss."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Chow Sai to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll banish a fire monster to summon my Inferno."
He took a Great Angus and banished it and the fiery bonfire appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I tribute it for my Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch."
It vanished and the giant Pyro emperor appeared (ATK: 2,400) and he pointed at the middle and she discarded the card and it was a Fiend Megacyber and she groaned as a fiery aura covered her (Serena LP: 3600 - 3000).
""Emperor will attack first and then your Monarch."
The huge Pyro let out a stream of flames and it struck, burning Chow Sai to ashes and the Monarch shot out a small fireball and a Crystal Seer appeared on the card (DEF: 100) and the flames incinerated it and she resumed, "Since you destroyed my Chow Sai, I can banish a Spell or Trap Card and I choose your Mirror Force you wiped a few of my monsters out with earlier."
He banished the card and then she drew 2 cards and took one of the cards and placed it at the bottom of his deck.
"Your turn now."
Serena drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Summoner Monk."
She played the card and a dark bearded monk appeared and then knelt (DEF: 1,600).
"I'll discard a Spell Card and summon my Gagaga Magician."
She discarded a Overlay Network and the Xyz mage appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I'll now drop 1000 lifepoints to use my Ready Fusion and summon my Karbonala Warrior."
She groaned (Serena LP: 3000 - 2000) as a Purple-armored Warrior appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I overlay my 3 Level 4 monsters."
All 3 Level 4 monsters glowed as they all turned into white orbs of pure light and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"I use these monsters to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon. Appear from the deepest of the oceans. I Xyz Summon my Gagaga The Arisen."
She played the card and a armored Gagagigo appeared (ATK: 2,950).
"I equip him with Stoic Challenge."
The reptile glowed with energy (ATK: 2,950 - 4,750) and she smiled and replied, "When it attacks a monster while using this Equip Spell, it does double the damage as well."
James quickly realized what that meant and he smiled and replied, "Your a fantastic duelist, Serena. Go for the win."
"Thanks for a great one. Attack his Thestalos to finish this duel."
The arms of the reptile Xyz glowed as 3 blades of pure, white energy shot out and sliced through the Monarch and he moaned as fell to one and erupted in a fiery explosion of soot & smoke and the rest of the flames (James LP: 3000 - 0) and a nearby announcer laughed and replied, "Serena Coleman is our State champion and winner of this tournament!"
The crowd cheered as she raised her arms in the air.

Back at the office, they were all impressed.
He nodded and resumed, "A Xyz summoner deck? That is a really clever deck and she'd be a great star in our tournament."
The taller guy resumed, "She'd be perfect, dad."
He nodded and then younger one resumed, "We have a duel finishing up in Dothan, Alabama right now, dad. I'll load it up for us."
Their father nodded and quickly did so.

Dothan Entertaiment Complex / Dothan, Alabama

At the Alabama Championship at Dothan's biggest sporting arena, the tournament was at its final match. On one side was a young thin girl with long blonde hair and she wore a white shirt and blue jeans and she had blue eyes as well. Defending her was a Golem Dragon (DEF: 2,000) and a Alexandrite Dragon (ATK: 2,000) as well as 1 facedown card as well as 2 cards left in her hand. Her name was Ashlee Grace Erickson and she also had the words DRAGON QUEEN tattooed across her chest in black letters that was also surrounded by small red and pink hearts as well. Her opponent was a brown-haired lady by the name of Martha Worthingtom and he controlled a facedown card and no other facedown cards with two cards in her hand.
(Martha LP: 3300) -ooooo- (Ashlee LP: 3600)
Ashley nodded and replied, "Your a tough duelist. I end my turn now."
Martha drew a card and replied, "I summon my Sunlight Unicorn."
As she sat the card down, a beautiful blue-haired unicorn appeared (ATK: 1,800) and she replied, "Let me check the top card."
She did so and it was her Mage Power and she grabbed it and equip to her steed (ATK: 1,800 - 2,800).
"Attack her stronger dragon!"
It charged and rammed its horn into the dragon's side and it roared and before it shattered into small shards of light (Ashlee LP: 3600 - 2800).
"Gotcha there! I end my turn now."
Ashlee drew a card and resumed, "I tribute my Golem Dragon for my Des Volstgalph."
The rocky dragon vanished and the large desert-like dragon appeared with a roar (ATK: 2,200) and she resumed, "I now activate Stamping Destruction!"
The dragon lifted its foot it and slammed it down quickly and send a shockwave and smashed her Mage Power card to bits (Martha LP: 3300 - 2800) and then her dragon let out a small roar (ATK: 2,200 - 2,400).
"Destroy her Unicorn!"
The dragon roared as a burst of fiery energy shot out, reducing the Unicorn to a cloud of fiery smoke & ash (Martha LP: 2800 - 2200) and then the dragon let out another small roar as a small burst of flames struck her down (Martha LP: 2200 - 1700).
"There you go. I End my turn now."
The dragon's boost went back down (ATK: 2,400 -2,200) and Martha drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a monster and a card and that's my turn now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Mirage Dragon."
She played the card and the beautiful dragon of light appeared (ATK: 1,600) and she resumed, "Mirage Dragon, attack!"
The dragon let out a fiery burst of light and a Large dog appeared on the card (DEF: 800) and the blast blew it to pieces and then two more Assault Dogs appeared (ATK: 1,200 x2) and she resumed, "Attack again!"
The dragon roared and then she resumed, "I activate my Gravity Lash!"
The spell appeared and her dragon roared (ATK: 2,200 - 2,400) and then it roared in pain (ATK: 2,400 - 700) and the small burst of flames shot out and the dog let out a loud growl and the growling wave smashed through the fiery attack and it shot out and smashed into the Dragon, blowing it to shards (Ashlee LP: 2800 - 2300) and a nearby announcer nodded and replied, "Folks, that was quite a move to destroy her dragon and take out a decent monster as well.
"That was really a cool move. I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."
Martha drew a card and resumed, "I activate Pot of Avarice."
She took a Sunlight Unicorn, two Hyenas, a Thunder Unicorn and a Hypnocorn and shuffled the cards into the deck and drew two cards and resumed, "I summon The Fabled Catsith."
She played the card and a small cat appeared a low meowing noise (ATK: 800).
"I tune it with one of my Dogs!"
The cat let out a hissing noise as it split into a single white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through a Assault Dog, which turned into 4 white stars (*1 + *4 = *5).
"I already did the chant earlier, but I summon my Thunder Unicorn once more!"
The mighty steed covered in electricity appeared (ATK: 2,200) and Ashlee groaned and replied, "That thing again?"
"Damn right it is! I use her effect to weaken your monster."
A burst of electricity shot out and struck the dragon (ATK: 1,600 - 600).
"Take it out now."
The mighty dragon went in and slammed its horn into it and it blew it into little shards of light (Ashlee LP: 2300 - 700).
"Your move now, girl."
Ashlee drew a card and she smiled and resumed, "I activate my Call of the Haunted."
The trap appeared and a Wish Dragon appeared (ATK: 700) and she pointed at it and it vanished as two smaller dragons appeared with a roar (ATK: 0 x2).
"I tribute both of them for my Tyrant Dragon!"
They both vanished and the huge fiery dragon appeared with a mighty roar (ATK: 2,900) and she sighed and resumed, "You win this one. You really do have what it takes to be great."
"Thanks for that, Martha. Attack her monsters to end this duel."
The dragon roared as let out a stream of hot flames and they struck, burning Assault Dog to ashes and then it let out a second burst of flames and reduced the Unicorn to fiery cinders and another small burst of flames struck her down as well (Martha LP: 1700 - 0) and then the announcer smiled and replied, "Our Alabama State Champion is...Ashley Grace Erickson!", the announced yelled out.
Everyone began to cheer as Martha walked up to her and she smiled and replied, "Good dueling, girl. You deserve this."
Ashlee smiled back as the shook hands and then replied, "It was honor. Call me up if you want a rematch."
Martha nodded as she walked away as the crowd continued to cheer for her.

Back at the office building, The CEO turned off the duel and he replied, "They both can be in it. A Dragon deck that strong will get through any tournament."
Brighton then replied, "Two great duelists. This tournament will be a smashing success, dad. Don't you agree, Evan?"
His older brother only nodded and then the younger guy looked at his cellphone and replied, "This is our lucky day right now. "There is a dueling ending soon in Atlanta right now, dad."
"Look it up for us, son."
He nodded as he went back to his computer.

Inside of the Stadium home of the Atlanta Falcons (Who have yet to win a Super Bowl Championship), The Georiga State Championship was going on right now. A young lady was dueling a guy that was around the age as her. She had black hair with purple streaks in them and blue eyes and wore glasses and as well a grey sweatpants and a grey t-shirt as well. She also had a tattoo of a large red heart that said LOVE in middle of it that was at the left side of her neck and a large rainbow-colored heart on the right side of the neck on the other side of her neck. Her name was Jamie Calbertson. Her opponent was a thin guy wearing blue jean shorts and a red shirt and wore glasses as well and his name was Anthony Smith. The duel was getting down there. He had a Giga Gagagigo (ATK: 2,450) and a Sea Serpent Warrior of Darkness (ATK: 1,800) and he had a faceup Backfire and no other facedown cards and 2 cards in his hand. Judi Lyn had 1 facedown monster and 4 cards left in her hand and no other cards facedown. Anthony tried to attack her facedown monster, but she stopped him with a Negate Attack.
(Anthony LP: 3700) -ooooooooo- (Jamie LP: 3500)
The male duelist sighed and replied, "Lucky you had your trap to save your facedown monster, lady. i end my turn now."
Jamie drew a card and replied, "I flip my facedown monster up."
As she did so, a Skull Knight #2 appeared (ATK: 1,000).
"I tribute it for my Caius the Shadow Monarch."
It vanished and the dark emperor appeared (ATK: 2,400) and then a 2nd one appeared (DEF: 1,200).
"I banish your Giga Gagagigo."
His dark eyes glowed as two beams of dark energy shot out and vaporized the tall Reptile.
"Destroy his Warrior."
It glowed as a blast of dark, shadowy energy shot out and slammed into the Reptile and it moaned as it fell backwards and shattered to pieces (Anthony LP: 3200 - 2700).
"I'll set a card and its your move now."
Anthony drew a card and replied, "I activate my Advance Ritual Art."
The spell appeared.
"I'll discard another Giga Gagagigo to help summon my Lycanthorpe."
He discarded the card and the Beast-Warrior appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I'll activate Blustering Winds!"
The spell apepare dand the claws glowed (ATK: 2,400 - 3,400) and went in and slashed at the Monarch and he moaned as claw marks appeared in his armor before it exploded into black globules (Jamie LP: 3500 - 2500) and he resumed, "I have 8 Normal monsters in my graveyard."
8 glowing shards shot out and slammed into her (Jamie LP: 2500 - 900).
"I end my turn now."
She drew a new card and resumed, "I'll activate Foolish Burial."
The spell appeared and she discarded it and resumed, "Since a Fiend was sent to the graveyard by a card effect, I Can Special Summon my Diabolica the Draconique General."
She played the card and a winged dragon-like demon appeared (ATK: 2,300).
"I now summon my Archfiend Soldier."
She sat the card down, the demonic soldier appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I attack with Soldier."
The Fiend went in and she resumed, "I activate my Bark of the Dark Ruler and I'll pay 800 lifepoints."
The trap appeared and she glowed (Jamie LP: 900 - 100) and then the Beast-Warrior howled in pain (ATK: 2,400 - 1,600) and then the Fiend went in and swung his sword and cut through the Beast-Warrior and it howled in pain before it shattered to pieces (Anthony LP: 2700 - 2300) and then he smiled and replied, "Your Fiend deck is really amazing, Jamie. Go for the win."
"It was a fun duel. Diabolica, end this."
The demon went in and slashed at him with her weapon (Anthony LP: 2300 - 0) and then a announcer ran onto the field and replied, "Our Tennessee State Champion is Jamie Calbertson!"
Everyone cheered as she raised her hands in victory.

As the Brandon received his trophy on air, he closed out of the duel and the CEO nodded and replied, "What a ending that was."
Brighton nodded and replied, "What a duel that was indeed. That Fiend user has some amazing skills, dad."
His brother nodded and replied, "We need to invite them both as well, dad."
"I know we do. Call up Duel Corp in Miami and see what they have to say about who's getting invited."
The older son nodded as he got up and left his father's office and then Brighton replied, "Can I be a part of this tournament too, dad? I want to show off how my new deck is."
His father nodded and replied, "Of course, son. If you do duel in it, you won't get any special treatment from my side or Duel Corp's side during the tournament as well. Also, you cannot tell anyone your my son at all."
"I'm fine with that, dad. I want to show you and the world how I duel."
"Good. Go order us some Chinese food for dinner and we'll talk more about it later."
He nodded as he got up and left his oiffce as well and then the CEO got up and looked out of his huge office window as well and he smiled and replied, "This is going to be a fun tournament."
