Kendall all but collapsed on his bed. He had just finished arranging all his stuff in their new appropriate places. He pulled the pretty polka-dotted blanket over himself and tried to get to sleep.
He had moved to Moonlight Falls on a whim the day before. He was sick of the busy Sunset valley and his busy job constantly travelling the world every weekend for work. He needed a simple life.
Travelling to USA for trade and going to Egypt for the weekly escavation trips no longer held the wonder it used to for him. He decided to quit his job at the Simerian Embassy and move to the quieter, more comely Moonlight Falls.
That and he liked the dark Aesthetic of the place.
He dozed off and awakened to the sound of his blaring alarm. He turned it off.
It was 7am. He had to go job hunting.
He had been informed of an opening at Federick Peterson Dinner club for a baker. He was going to go for it.
He groaned as he got himself off the bed and dragged himself into the shower.
He made a quick meal of cheese on toast, ate it and headed out.
He pulled up to the "dinner club" not ten minutes later. It was next to a huge building that looked like it could be Dracula's castle and he laughed at the thought.
It was greyish blue and had the symbol of a bat on its roof. It greatly contrasted the dinner club next to it.
The dinner club was an off white color with hints of gold at the upstairs windows. The main opening was a dark green glass door and there were other glass screens on the side.
There were also seats for people who wanted to eat outside.
He got out of his car and shook off the supposed awe in his mind and headed in. He met a waitress at the door.
"Hi, my name's Lily," she introduced, "do you have an early morning reservation?"
"Uh, no. I'm here to see the manager, Wil. I'm here for the job opening," he replied.
"Oh for the bakery? Right this way," she said and led the way to the manager's office.
Lily knocked on the door and entered.
The dark skinned man looked up from his computer with a bored expression.
"This is the person for the bakery," Lily stated briefly.
"You must be Kendall? Jean-Pierre's friend?" Wil asked.
"Yeah," Kendall replied.
"Jean said you owned a bakery in Sunset valley. Is that right?" Wil inquired again.
"I did," Kendall said.
Wil stood up, "okay so. Our baker moved countries so we need a good replacement. So, we're going to go to the bakery section, don't worry it's been cleaned and everything you need is in order. You're going to make a small batch of brownies for me and Lily, is that okay?"
"Um, sure," Kendall said.
Two hours and a dozen brownies later, he got the job. Wil asked him to start immediately so he did.
He quickly realized he'd need a hand soon or else he'd have to do a lot of the baking at home. He got a few customers that same day as well.
He had fun. He liked how nice everyone was and wanted to know him right away.
He started to close up shop at 7pm when someone walked in.
"Sorry. I hope it's not too late? Can I get half a dozen red velvet cupcakes?" she asked.
Kendall turned around.
She put down her bag and brought out her purse. She shuffled in it looking for something. It was a nude colored purse with the word "Beige!" on it.
Her complexion could best be described as honey colored.
She had electric blue colored hair. She wore a black longsleeved crop top with a baby pink high-waisted flared skirt that went to the top of her knees. She was wearing black fishnet stockings and black boots.
"Yeah... I can put them in the microwave for you," he said, finally.
She looked up at him and flashed a smile, "thank you."
He went and reheated the cupcakes and packaged them for her.
"Wil posted on Twitter and Instagram that the bakery had reopened, I had to get some right away," she said when he handed her the cupcakes.
"You know Wil?" he asked.
She chuckled, "everybody knows everybody in this town. Which is crazy because it's fairly large. I'm Sasha by the way, you?"
"Kendall."
"Ooh like the Jenner."
Kendall rolled his eyes.
Sasha laughed again, "I see you don't like the comparison very much."
Kendall smiled and shook his head.
"You should be going home now, I guess? It's getting really late," she asked.
"Yeah. Valkyrae said something about the town having like an informal curfew or something," he said as he ran her card through the machine.
"Ooh. You've met Rae already? That's nice," she said.
He handed the card back to her and she put it back in her purse.
"Can I have your number? I can have cupcakes delivered to you if you want," he said.
She smiled and typed her number in his phone.
"Well, goodnight. Don't stay out too late," she said and left the bakery.
Sasha felt a presence near her when she got to her car. She rolled her eyes and hid a smile, "it's not a full moon yet, Corpse."
She turned around.
He had a smirk on his face.
He was wearing a black hooded jacket so long, it would pass for a trench coat or a dress on someone shorter with black trousers and black boots. He still had his signature face mask with the teeth on.
"Isn't it dark enough for you to take off the mask?" she asked.
"Um, no. Peterson's lights are still on, they're still mundanes running around," he replied.
"You mean other people?" she asked, quirking a brow.
"Yeah, that's what I said. Humans, Sims, mundanes," he returned.
She laughed.
"Why are you stalking me, Corpse?"
"Don't make it sound creepy."
"It already is. Standing here all dressed up like a serial killer."
He chuckled at that, "I like the aesthetic."
"I know you do. I have to get home now, Corpse... Before my cupcakes get cold," she said turning back to her car.
"Hmm."
She got into her car and shut the door.
"Bye, Corpsey," she waved and drove off.
He smiled under his mask.
