So this is going to be one of the first stories I've written. Please leave a review and let me know what y'all think and any feedback you may have. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer. I'm going to attempt to keep a regular upload schedule but no promises as we know life gets in the way. Thanks for checking it out.
'Thank god it's pretty quiet tonight. I don't think I can handle anymore.' Danny thought as he flew over Amity Park towards his home. He'd just left Sam's house after another fight with her. 'She just doesn't understand. I can't control the reporters or anyone else that just has to get in my way!' He thought frustrated gritting his teeth.
Ever since he revealed his identity after the disasteroid, he couldn't get a single moment alone. Wether it was reporters trying to get a interview, girls who wouldn't have given him the time of day before, or the A-Listers who wanted him in their click. Even his own parents wouldn't leave him alone. They always had questions, weather it was about ghosts, types of ghosts, ghost cores, what it was like to be a ghost, the list goes on.
It seemed like the only time he felt a relative since of normalcy was when he was fighting other ghosts. At least then he wasn't being bombarded with questions. But even those we're getting fewer and fewer. Many of the enemies he'd had in the past mellowed out a bit. He figured he gained their respect after saving the world.
Arriving at his home he quickly goes intangible before the hoard of reporters waiting outside can see him and phases through the wall into his room. Past events have taught him to make sure no one is in his room before he becomes visible again if he wants to about any questions. He quickly takes a look around before shifting into his human form and planting both feet on the ground. Making his way over to his bed he lays down and places the pack of his forearm over his head.
"What the hell should I do?" He asks out loud to no one in particular.
Suddenly he hears a voice come from right beside him ask, "what do you mean Danny" causing him to nearly fall out of bed from shock.
Quickly sitting up he looks to see his clone/cousin appear right beside him. "Danielle!" He says excitedly and pulls her into a tight embrace. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever."
"I know, I know. I really need to visit more" she says releasing Danny from the hug they shared. "I've missed you too."
"No kidding. You are about the only person I'd be excited to see right now."
"Uh-oh. Hero trouble?" Dani asks.
"Everything trouble." He says with a downtrodden expression sitting back down on his bed.
"What's going on" she asks concerned turning into her human half and sitting on the bed next to Danny.
"I don't want you to worry about my problems on your visit in town. I'm just happy to see you. How long are you planning on staying?" Danny asks
"Actually, I'm thinking about coming back. Traveling was fun and all but I got pretty lonely. I thought I'd come back home to my family." She says sheepishly.
Danny knows what she means. Technically the only family she's ever had was Vlad but Danny has always looked at her like a little sister, and her like a brother. "Really? That great Dani. I'd love nothing more than to have you here. We can get you all set up in the spare bedroom."
"That would be great, but your dodging my question. What's going on with you?" She asks again.
Leaning his head back against the wall he thinks for a moment. "What isn't going on?" He asks a bit sarcastically. "I can't get a break from everyone, my relationship with Sam is failing, my parents seem like they want to experiment on me, the media won't leave me alone. I just don't think I'm cut out for this. Everything was so much easier when I was just Daniel Fenton."
"Woah. You weren't kidding. You do have it rough." Dani replied.
Just then Danny's phone began to ring. Picking it up to Check the caller I.D. he sees it's Sam. "Let me get this real quick Dani."
"Sure" she says as he stands to answer the phone.
"Hey Sam. What's up?" He says into the phone. Dani can see the aggravation build on Danny's face. "Sam, I don't want to fight with you again." He replies into the phone. After a few tense moments he pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "If that's what you feel is best." He says and hangs up the phone turning back to Dani.
"That didn't sound too promising" she says with concern in her voice as danny comes back to the bed to sit down.
"She broke up with me" Danny replies.
"Oh Danny, I'm sorry. Are you okay?" She asks moving closer to him.
"Honestly, yeah. I feel fine. I guess I kinda knew this was coming. We were kind of forcing thing the past couple of months." He says as he lays down deep in thought.
Dani looks at him with sympathy. She knows he's liked her for a long time and no matter how things have been he is still hurt. Suddenly an idea forms in her head. "Danny, why don't we do something tomorrow to get your mind off of things?"
"what do you have in mind?" He asks.
"Well, I have a couple tickets to a concert tomorrow and thought we could go." She says to Danny" I wasn't planning on going but you seem like you could use a break."
"I could definitely use a break, but if people see Danny Phantom at a concert it might not end up so well, for either of us." He replies.
"Well that's the thing, it's kind of in the ghost zone." This causes Danny to look up at her questioningly. "What? You don't think it was just the earth I was exploring do you?"
"I guess I haven't really thought about it. That would keep me from having to talk to the reporters." He said thinking out loud. "But the ghost zone... really. Half the ghosts hate my guts. They would take a shot at me first chance they got."
"That's not true" she says, but after a pointed look from Danny she replies "okay... Well maybe it is true but Walker has declared no fighting within the stadium and his guards will be enforcing everything" almost pleading with him at this point.
After a few more seconds and an expectant look from Dani, he says "okay. Yeah, let's do it."
This causes Dani to almost squeal with excitement. They talk for a few more minutes before Danny's eyelids begin to get heavy. "Okay Dani. I hate to cut this short but it's kind of been a day and I need to get some rest if we're going tomorrow."
"Okay. I understand." Dani says. "Where is the guest room?"
"I'll walk you there. I need to let someone know your staying here." Danny says to her as they leave his room. Making his way down the hall he stops at the next door and knocks. "Hey Jazz, open up please."
The door swings open and out steps Danny's older sister Jasmine Fenton, aka Jazz. Aside from Dani she's the only other person he doesn't mind talking to. She never bombarded him with questions or acts like anything other than a big sister. "Hey Danny. What's up?" She asks not noticing Dani trailing behind right away. "Dani? What are you doing here?" She asks.
"Hey Jazz. Long time no see." Dani says moving in for a quick hug.
"Shes going to be staying here for a while" Danny answers for her. "I'm going to put her in the guest room for the night until we can figure out something more permanent."
"That sounds great. I'm guessing you want me to hold off on telling mom and dad?" She asks.
"Just for the night. You know how they are with me. I can't imagine them knowing there's another halfa in the house. Let alone my clone?" He says nodding his head towards Dani.
"Sounds good to me, little brother. I'll tell them I have a friend staying over" she says with a wink towards Dani who cracks a small smile.
They finish up their conversation and head their separate ways. Danny shows Dani to the room she'll be staying in.
"Are you sure this is okay?" Dani asks.
"It's fine. Mom and dad spend most of their time in the lab anyways. They probably won't even notice you're here. Just stay in your human form for now around them." Danny says to her causing her eyebrows to shoot up questioningly. "They'll ask you a ton of questions, want blood and ectoplasm samples. The list goes on. As long as they don't notice you're a ghost it won't happen. I'll sit and talk with them about it so they go easy on you."
"Okay. I can handle that I think." She's says. "I'll see you in the morning okay?"
"Sure thing" he says as he turns to leave. "Goodnight Danielle."
"Goodnight." She says as she closes the door.
