Link was resting on top of the back of his mare Epona, it's been 2 years since he had finished his adventure in the unfortunate land of Termina, Link was exhausted by everything he had to go through.

The words of the Happy Mask Salesman resounded in his head;

"When there is a meeting, the farewell always follows. But that farewell does not last forever. Goodbyes can be forever or for a short time…that depends on you."

Link fondly remembered those words, but he couldn't help but think of all the suffering he experienced from the stories behind the masks he got during his adventure, pain, loss, death, those emotions accompanied him and manifested as a weight crawling on his back.

Especially after an event that occurred a year after wandering aimlessly in the lost woods.

He had managed to find her, his dear friend, that fairy who had accompanied him through time in the kingdom of Hyrule, Navi. He had finally found her…she was…she was…dead…

The entire world stopped in front of Link, he felt how his heart sank into a deep emptiness, whose intensity increased the longer he watched the scene in front of his eyes.

The small inert body of the fairy rested on top of a cut trunk, devoid of life just like the trunk, the hero of Hyrule began to shed tears, while he saw that scene he realized something, something that made him feel worse...when he went to Ganondorf's castle, Ganondorf surrounded them with an aura of evil….that evil….poisoned her…and began to kill her little by little.

He now understood why she couldn't help him during the battle against Ganondorf... and now he understood the reason why she left his side... she didn't want Link to see her die...

First it was his parents….then his adoptive father….then his friends…then the Deku, Zora and Goron's mask spirits…and now Navi…how much more does he have to lose? He just wants to be…to be…..be….happy again…

While he was los in his thoughts, suddenly a tree root came out of the ground and like a tentacle grabbed the young Hylian's leg, and dragged him abruptly.

In desperation Link tried to take his sword to cut the root, but it wrapped around his body, leaving him unable to move his arms, he tried to kick the root but it had no effect, Link watched as he moved away from Epona, very quickly, and then his head hit a rock on the ground causing him to lose consciousness.

Before losing consciousness, he briefly remembered the words that the Happy Mask Salesman once told him.

"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"

[Location: ¿¿¿???]

Little by little, the young hero began to regain consciousness, his sense of vision and hearing somewhat dazed not to mention the terrible headache that accompanied it.

Link sat on the ground while he finished compiling himself, when he finally recovered his composure the first thing he saw; It was an extensive grassland in whose distance he could see somekind of citadel with an enormous tower in its center, which reached up to the sky and seemed to have no end.

He quickly realized that there was no sign of Epona anywhere, at the same time he began look through his belongings, hoping that whatever it was that brought him here, hadn't thrown them away;

And finally, the mask of (...), definitely, (Apparently it lacked the other objects of him, but the rest was intact).

The hero of Hyrule was taken by surprise; realizing that next to him was the Master Sword, which was on the ground stored in his case.

'What is The Master Sword doing here? If my memory serves me correctly I would swear it was in the temple of time.'

Link was afraid to touch the blade, he feared he might be returned to a 7 year slumber. He sighed and approached the sword of evil's bane, the moment he touched its handle nothing happened, apparently the Master Sword was accepting Link, despite being young.

Link took the sword and placed it on his back, still wondering how it ended up outside the temple of time.

Putting aside his adventure gear, he looked around him and couldn't help but wonder 'Where am I? And how did I end up here?'

The young hero stood up, and began to walk in the direction of the city, in order to discover where he was.

[Location: City of Orario, main square.]

Link arrived at what seemed to be the main area of that city, on the way he began to ask about his whereabouts and the direction in which Hyrule was located, but none of the passers-by gave him a positive answer, some even made fun of him to the mention Hyrule, others looked at him strangely (probably because of his clothes), and others simply ignored him, until after much searching, a kind old man responded to his request.

"Young man, you are in the city of Orario, right now we are in the central square, hmmm….you seem disoriented, I recommend that you go to the Adventurer's Guild to clarify your doubts, the place is in that direction, I hope I have been of help to you, young man."

Link thanked the old man and went to the place indicated.

[Location: Adventurer's guild.]

As he crossed the doors of the building, he found several people of various ages, many were in a waiting line, others seemed to be talking with what appeared to be the managers of the place, and others chatting among themselves and apparently they all seemed to be armed.

The Hylian approached one of the empty counters where there was an elf employee, hoping that she could give her answers to know where he was exactly.

"Greetings, my name is Ms. Eina, I welcome you to the Adventurer's Guild, how can I help you?" asked the receptionist very politely.

"Uuh…. Hello, sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could tell me where I am? I think I'm a little lost..." asked the young Hyliano, which made the receptionist a little worried.

"Oh! Are you lost? Which is your 'familia'? You need help reaching them?"

"Emm... I'm an orphan, miss..." Link responded, to which the receptionist responded with a giggle.

"No silly I mean what is the name of the deity assigned to your family?". The young hero's response left her speechless.

"Uhh…Hylia?…Nayru?…Din?… Rauru?…I don't know what exactly you mean ma'am… "

"..."

"Uh...Miss are you oka-"

"IS THIS IS A JOKE!?" The elf receptionist yelled, which momentarily caught the attention of everyone in the building. "How do you not know what I mean!? Sounds like a bad joke to me, boy!"

"Uhh... no... I'm serious..." Link was nervous at the woman's reaction, ' perhaps he has offended her in some way?'.

("Surely I'm in another world like Termina…perfect…I ended up in an alternate dimension 'again', and now this woman in front of me surely thinks I'm crazy"). He thought inwardly of her as he swallowed.

"I'm going to ask you something, do you know where you are?", Link shook his head, "Do you know what that tower is!?" he again shook his head, "Do you know what a familia is!?" again the same answer, "Do you at least know how the gods ended up in the mortal world!?" she received the same answer again.

The elf woman banged her elbows on the table while she held her head, out of frustration. "This is going to be a long day…, okay kid, so it all started…."

5 hours later.

"Ok, I think I understand, is there anything else I should know?" Link asked, still trying to assimilate the information from this world.

"I'd like to verify your magic stage with this crystal first, don't worry, it's just to see if you're not a criminal or a user of forbidden magic." The elf woman took the strange artifact and began to point it in the direction of the young man in green tunic, at first the artifact showed that his aura was normal, but when she pointed the artifact at the boy's sword, the artifact began to emit a powerful blue light, which covered the whole place, and the moment she pointed it away from the blade, the celestial light vanished.

The elf lady was stunned by this, but that wasn't the only surprise for that day, when she pointed the artifact in the direction of the young Hylian's left hand, the magic crystal of the device began to manifest an intense golden glow, and suddenly the the device began to shake aggressively while the glass began to crack, the source of this event seemed to be the strange triangle mark that the boy had, after a few seconds the glass of the device exploded into pieces, leaving it useless, which left the elf receptionist stunned.

"H-how!? When? What!?," The elf was in a state of shock, and one of her co-workers went to find out the situation, and seeing the state her partner was in, she limited herself to giving the Hylian a form which he had to fill out after being accepted by a family and she handed him a map with the marked location of the main residences of each God's Familas.

Once his strange visit to the Adventurers Guild was over, the hero of Hyrule quickly left the building, avoiding drawing more attention and went to the places on the map in search of a Familia, his search had the following results:

[Location: Orario, Loki Familia residence.]

The person in charge of interviewing new recruits was Finn Deinme, a young man a little older than the hero of Hyrule, Link felt nervous since he was the first to have an interview.

An awkward silence filled the room until the interviewer broke the silence.

"Could you tell me your name and explain why you want to be part of our Familia?"

"My name is Link, and I'd like to join his familia because I need to be authorized as an 'official' adventurer, other than that; I need a place to stay while I find a way to go back home."

The nervousness of the young Hyliano could be clearly seen, but despite realizing it, the interviewer continued with the questioning.

"Tell me, Link, how long have you been an adventurer?" Finn asked.

"So far, at least 3 years." A/N: (Link is physically 15 years old in this fic).

"Tell me Link which part of Orario do you come from?"

"I'm very sorry but...I'm not from Orario"

"Oh, so you come from outside the citadel?"

"Uhm…Something like that…". Link answered as he scratched the back of his head, this comment made Finn suspicious of the boy in green in front of him, so he decided to end the interview.

"I am very sorry but my Goddess, only accept people with a lot of merit, unfortunately you do not meet the necessary requirements. You can withdraw, the interview is over." He said this as he led Link out of the Loki Familia's residence, but before the Hylian could say anything he was received with a closing door in front of his face.

*SLAM!*

[Location: Orario, Soma Familia's residence.]

One of the most cocky members of the Soma familia was in charge of the interview.

"I'm only going to ask once, do you have enough valis to join?"

"I don't have any valis..."

*SLAM!*

[Location: Orario, Miach Familia's pharmacy.]

This time the person in charge of the interview was the God of the Familia himself, who after hearing Link's request, sighed and looked at him with a sad face. "I'm very sorry young man, but at this time it is not possible for us to accept new members to the family."

Link just sighed in disappointment, thanked the God, and left the establishment, closing the door behind him.

*SLAM!*

Several hours later.

This same scenario repeated with all the residences of the Familias he went to, each and every one of them rejected his request to join, he was searching for several hours, without any results, and unfortunately for the hero of Hyrule it was already getting dark.

He only had two Familias left to review; the Freya Familia and the Hestia Familia, Link sighed and headed to the two remaining locations with low hopes.

[Location: Orario, Freya Familia's residence.]

Upon arriving at the Freya Family residence, Link knocked on the door of the residence and was received by an adult man who looked at him with a smug face accompanied by the feeling of being a person who considers himself superior to others, this man made him feel a bit pathetic and small.

"What do you want scum? I don't have time for your problems" asked that guy in a thick and deep voice.

"M-My name is Link sir...*glups* I was wondering if your deity would be willing to receive me into her Familia" The man sighed with an annoyed tone at the young man's proposal in front of him.

"Listen to me scum, Lady Freya has no time for people like you, besides you can only join if the goddess requests you, get out!"

Given his response, Link received a door slammed into his face, and without hope he composed himself and walked towards the last place indicated on his map.

Before he left the residence, the young hero felt as if someone was watching him, even though he looked everywhere he couldn't identify what or who was watching him, but whatever was watching him, he knew that they were looking at him with desire, specifically 'Lust', Link tried to ignore the thought and headed to the last location.

[Location: Orario, Hestia Familia's residence.]

It was late night and on the sky it seemed that a heavy rain was going to happen.

Link was facing the residence of the Hestia Familia, the place seemed to be an old church, which seemed very old and worn, in Link's words: 'The structure seems so withered, I'm surprised this place is still standing' .

The Hylian advanced towards the front door and knocked a couple of times.

Knock-Knock-Knock*

Nobody answered.

Knock knock knock*

They still didn't respond...

The hero sat on the ground defeated, he had not been admitted into any Familia, so he could not enter the dungeon, which in turn would make him unable to get money to survive (Despite having 1000 rupees in his pocket, he would eventually run out), which meant he couldn't find a way to get home.

The hero of Hyrule rose from the ground defeated and hopeless. "I hope there are empty alleys nearby," he said to himself.

"Hooi!"

The hero was about to go find an alley to sleep in, when his progress was interrupted by that voice, which seemed to be that of a woman.

The young man in green turned behind him and found a girl peeking out from between the doors of the chapel. The girl seemed to be sleepy and she seemed older than him, she had black hair with pigtails on the sides of it and she was dressed in white.

"What do you want at this time...*yaw*…don't you see that it's after 22:00 p.m.?" The clearly tired girl asked.

Link approached her.

"H-Hello sorry for the inconvenience but I was wondering if I could be welcomed into your deity's Familia?" Link prepared himself to receive another refusal, but all he received was an awkward silence and the girl's shocked look.

"E-Excuse me? What was your question? I think I'm still a bit asleep…" the girl asked while she rubbed her eyes.

"I was asking if your deity would be willing to receive me into his Familia?Yours are the last option that are left to me, since the other Familias rejected me..." Link finished saying this at the same time the rain was beginning.

The girl looked at him for a few seconds before tackling him with a big hug, "Of course I accept you in my Familia! What kind of monster would I be if I left you in the middle of the street in this rain? Come in, come in, be welcome!" The girl said as she roughly pushed the hero in green, inside the residence.

Upon entering, the condition of the place was similar to the outside, most of the furniture looked old and dusty, the walls were covered in cobwebs, and the paint looked like it was peeling off.

"I'm so sorry for the mess, I don't normally get many joining requests, apart from the fact that with the few family members, we can barely afford a little food." The goddess said as she gave Link a 'tour' of the place.

"Uh...and where is your goddess right now?" Link asked.

The girl turned to Link and began to laugh for a few seconds.

"Hahahaaaa…Ehem, boy, in case you haven't noticed, you have her in front of you, My name is Hestia, Goddess of Heart, nice to meet you uhh…" the goddess replied as she extended her hand towards the Hylian.

The hero in green remembered the manners of the knights that his late adoptive-tree father had taught him and knelt in front of Hestia, "My name is Link, your grace, it is an honor for me to be in your presence."

Hestia couldn't help but smile smugly at the young man's introduction, "Well Sir Link, I'm glad to know you have good manners, but you don't need to address me like that, just call me Hestia or Goddess. And the pleasure is all mine."

Link stood up and shook the hand of the goddess, who was surprised by something that made her look outside, and not finding what she was looking for, she went to the door.

"I'm waiting for the arrival of another member of the family , I'm honestly worrying about him, I'm going to go look for him, there is a room available in the basement, please make yourself comfortable while I go out for a few minutes."

Before Link could say anything, Hestia stormed out of the church, leaving him completely alone.

Link went downstairs until he reached his new 'room' in which there was only an old sofa, the Hylian lay on the furniture, and little by little he began to immerse himself in the world of dreams… only this time…. with a sadness that would accompany him, until the dawn of a new day...
