I wanted to try to make my own ShadowSpider 616 stories. This is ShadowSpider Prime: The Blind Date, the first story of a series that I plan to write. I also have other ShadowSpider stories written, some based in Earth 616 but separated from ShadowSpider Prime Series. Anyway, this is the first chapter of this story, I hope you like it. If you guys like Peter Parker and Kitty Pryde stories, I have other stories about this pairing. The first is my ShadowSpider Evolution series, I am currently writing the fourth chapter of the third installment, and I think I'm almost done, so look forward to that. I also have ShadowSpider And The X-Men: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It is a crossover between Wolverine And The X-Men, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and a little bit of Spectacular Spider-Man that's why it is listed as a Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine And The X-Men crossover. Chapter 1: Who is my date
Earth 616, United States, New York, New York, Central Park, 5:50 pm
Peter Parker also known as the Amazing Spider-Man was walking down the sidewalk in Central Park wearing a black blazer over a white collared shirt, Khaki pants and black shoes. Now you're wondering why at this time is Peter walking in Central Park dressed the way he is and not swinging around New York as Spider-Man. Well, the simple answer is that he has a date. A blind date…uh, he really hates blind dates.
Peter sighs, "How did I get myself into this," he questioned as he thinks back to how he got to this point.
Five Days Ago
Peter was in his room lying in his bed brooding on his breakup with Mary Jane that happened two weeks prior. He couldn't help it; he was just trying to understand what went wrong this time. She said that she loved him, but she couldn't handle the worrying anymore. The same reason as usual, she couldn't handle the worrying. He thought that they would be able to get through that. Was he wrong? He loved her, wanted to ask her to marry him, to become his wife, he even tried that to get her to stay with him, but she said no. What is wrong with him? What did he do to deserve this? To be alone. Is that his destiny? To spend the rest of his days as Spider-Man, protecting people. No wife, no children, no family. Is this the world's way of telling him that that kind of future isn't in the cards for guys like him.
Peter sighed…suddenly he heard his phone ring, picking it up Peter looked at who is calling him and sees that it's Reed Richards also known as Mr. Fantastic. Surprised and perplexed at the phone call, Peter answers it, Reed doesn't call much unless it has something to do with an experiment or it's important and right now Peter could go for either or. "Hey Reed, what's up," Peter asked
"Peter, I'm just calling to ask if you would like to come over. I have an experiment that I need help with. If it's successful than we might be able to use it to save Franklin's powers," Reed said
"Really," Peter asked surprised
"Yes, but I need some help. I was wondering if you could come over and help," Reed said
"Sure, whenever you need me," Peter said
"Could you come now," Reed said
Peter looked at the clock and saw that it was 4:00pm, "Sure, I'm on my way," Peter said
"Thanks Peter," Reed said
4th Yancy Street
Spider-Man is shown swinging to the home of the Fantastic Four, when he arrives, he decides to enter through the front door for once. Not like it would be surprising for people to see Spider-Man visiting. It is widely known that he's had close relations to the Fantastic Four, so close that when Johnny "died" that in his will he asked for Spider-Man to take his place. Approaching the door Spider-Man knocks four times, after a minute of waiting, the door opens, and Spider-Man sees Susan Storm-Richards also known as the Invisible Woman, Reed's wife, and Franklin's mother.
When Sue opens the door and sees Spider-Man she smiles, "Peter," Sue says, she then hugs Spider-Man who returns it. "It's good to see you," Sue said as they pulled apart.
"Good to see you too Sue. How has everything been," Spider-Man said
"Well, you know how it is with the life of superheroes," Sue said
"That's true," Spider-Man said
"Come on in, we've been waiting," Sue said as she led Spider-Man inside the house. Once the two enter Sue closes the door behind them, "Come on, I'll take you to Reed," Sue said as she led Spider-Man through the house, "It's been quite some time since you've last visited."
Knowing that he is in a safe place Spider-Man takes off his mask and becomes Peter Parker, "Sorry about that, I've thought about visiting but then I've heard what's been going on lately with you guys and I didn't want to be a bother to you," Peter said
Sue stopped making Peter stop next to her, she then turns to face Peter and places her hand on his arm, "Peter you're never a bother to us. You are welcome here anytime no matter what is happening. Remember Peter, you're as much a part of this family as any one of us. Me, Ben, Reed, Johnny, Franklin, Valeria, we love you Peter, and we care about you," Sue said and she means every word.
Peter smiles, "Thanks Sue, that means a lot. After everything that's been going on lately, it's nice to know that you guys are in my corner," he said
"Hopefully, you'll take advantage of it this time," Sue said
"Hm," Peter questioned
Sue sighed, "Peter like I said you're family. We care about you and we love you and because we love you we had to do this," Sue said
"Ok, now you got me worried. Do what," Peter asked
Sue opens the door motioning Peter to enter. Hesitantly Peter enters the room and much to his surprise, there is a group of people sitting down. On the couch were Reed, Franklin, Valeria, and Johnny. Ben was sitting on a recliner, there were chairs spread out in the room and much to his surprise the occupants were Miles, Logan, as well as his Amazing Friends Bobby Drake also known as Iceman and Angelica Jones also known as Firestar, what those three were doing here and not Krakoa Peter wasn't sure. Peter hears Sue close the door behind him, he also thinks he heard a lock. Sue then joins the group of people and sits in a chair next to Reed. The entire group were all of giving Peter a serious and concerned look.
"What's going on? Bobby, Angelica, Logan, Miles what are you doing here? I know that you need help with Franklin's powers Reed but I didn't know you needed this much help," Peter said jokingly but no one was laughing.
"Peter they're not here to help with Franklin's powers and neither are you for that matter," Reed said
"Then what am I here for and what are they doing here," Peter questioned
"Take a seat webs then we'll talk," Logan said motioning towards a chair that Peter hasn't noticed till now. Hesitantly Peter slowly approaches the chair and sits down in front of the group. He feels like he's on some kind of trial. What did he do now?
Seeing the question on Peter's face Sue speaks up, "You're not in trouble Peter. You've done nothing wrong," she reassures.
"Unless you did something that you have yet to tell us about," Johnny jokes only to get elbowed in the ribs by Bobby, "OW. Dude." Johnny glares at his power opposite.
"Quiet," Bobby said
"If I'm not in trouble and if I'm not here to help Franklin then what am I here for," Peter asked
The group took a moment to consider how to word their answer. They knew what to say they just need to word it carefully.
"Dammit, I'm just gonna say it, Webs this is an intervention," Logan said
"An intervention heh. WAIT! WHAT? AN INTERVENTION," Peter said startled
"As subtle as ever Logan," Angelica said
Ben sighs, "Yeah Webs, welcome to your intervention," he said
"An intervention? For me? Why," Peter questioned
"It's like I said Peter we care about you and love you. Everyone here cares about you and loves you," Sue said
"I wouldn't go that far," Logan said
"Oh really, blood brother," Bobby says to Logan
Logan sighs, "First chance I get, I'm carving you Webs," he says to himself.
Ignoring Logan, Angelica decides to continue where Sue left off, "And it's because we love you that we're concerned about you Peter," Angelica said
"You guys have no reason to be concerned about me," Peter said
"Oh, really no reason? How about we talk about what happened with Kraven and his Hunt in Times Square some months back," Bobby said
"Or we can talk about you living with Fred Myers also known as Boomerang," Johnny said
"How about the fact that you got split in two, nearly died because of it and told no one about it until after it happened," Ben said
"We also have the Sin Eater," Reed said
"As well as Kindred," Miles said.
Peter sighs and rubs his hand down his face, "You guys know how it is. It's the hero life. Strange things happen to us, and normally those strange things wind up being dangerous in some way. But as always, we handle it. What happened in Time Square I was captured; with Boomerang, the guy is paying rent not to mention he and Randy stroked up a friendship. So, getting rid of him is not happening," Peter said
"What about you splitting yourself in two," Bobby said
"I didn't know I was gonna die until later on. When I found out it was gonna happen, I went to rejoin with him. Me? You know what I mean," Peter defended
"Let me get this straight Webs, you find out you're gonna die unless you reunite with your other half," Logan said
"Yes," Peter said
"You then go to reunite with this half so you both get to live," Logan said
"Yes, but it was hard because the guy had no sense of responsibility at all," Peter said
"Did you know that before you approached him," Bobby asked
"Well yeah, I did, I talked to him before. Let me tell you the way he was acting the guy was reminding me of Wade," Peter said
"So, you went to confront a guy who according to you was unreasonable and like Deadpool," Angelica said raising an eyebrow at him.
"Um yeah," Peter said he knows that eyebrow. He's known and dated her long enough to know she's thinking him an idiot right now.
"You went to confront a guy with the powers of Spider-Man and the personality of Deadpool on your own with no one to help you," Bobby said
"Well, when you put it that way, you make it sound," Peter said
"Dumb," Ben said
"Stupid," Johnny said
"Idiotic," Bobby said
"You being a Dumbass," Logan said
"Any explanations with Sin Eater and this Kindred fellow who we had to hear about through the grape vine," Ben said
Peter looked at Miles with a raised eyebrow wondering if it was him who told.
Sue caught the look, "Don't be going and blaming Miles for this Peter. This has been a long time coming," she said
"What has been a long time coming? Why am I having an intervention? I mean what did I even do to get an intervention," Peter asked
"It's not what you did do Pete, it's what you haven't done," Bobby said as he looked at Peter, "Pete, you, me, Angelica, we're Amazing Friends."
"Worst name ever," Johnny said getting a glare from the three heroes.
"As I was saying," Bobby said as he looked back at Peter, "We're Amazing Friends Peter, and Amazing Friends help each other out with anything. When one of us needs help all they have to do is call the other two and they'd be there in an instant."
"Bobby's right Peter, you could have called us for help, and we would have been there in no time. We would have faced those problems like we always did, together. But you didn't call us instead you handled them yourself and because of that you nearly died," Angelica said
"I handled it though, I was able to bring the two of us back together," Peter said
"Yeah, after nearly dying in an explosion and with a shred of luck of you hitting the button with your webbing," Bobby said
"This is the last time I share stories with you guys," Peter commented
"We're serious Peter. Do you know how much faster we could have solved that situation with the three of us? With the three of us, yes that includes you with no powers. With the three of us we could have contained him and combined you two sooner, but you didn't call us and because of that you nearly died," Angelica said
"But I learned a life lesson out of it so that's a win, isn't it," Peter said
"Uncle Pete be serious about this, we're worried about you," Franklin said
"You have no reason to be Franky," Peter said
"I'd say he does webs, how much shit ova the years have ya gotin ya self inta and didn't ask for help," Ben said
"Well," Peter said thinking back.
"Answer a lot," Ben said
"Listen I appreciate what you guys are doing I really do, but here's the thing, I entered this world alone. When I became Spider-Man, I had no one to help me, no one to fall back on. I had no training facilities to train in, I had no teachers to teach me how to use my powers. I had no friends or family to talk about how I feel about having my powers or to relate to. I had no one, I had to learn everything myself by making mistakes and living with the consequences. I had to adapt to every situation I was put in because I had no team to watch my back. Was it hard? Yes, it was, it was very hard, but I learned, and I followed my own path of being a hero. As I said I appreciate your concern, but I have been in this life since I was 15 years old, most of my hero career had been me working solo. This, this isn't new to me. Handle problems by myself, I'm used to it," Peter said
"Listen webs, I out of anyone know what it's like to handle thing yourself. I've gone off on my own plenty of times whether it's to solve my own problems or because I just couldn't be a team player. But if there is one thing that I learned is that life is much better when you let people help you," Logan said
"My Peter worked alone you know," Miles said getting everyone's attention, "On my earth, Earth-1610, the Spider-Man before me, my predecessor, Peter Parker. He did the hero gig alone too, sure he did some team-ups and even had a partner for a while but in the end, he always wound-up working solo. Wasn't one to ask for help which is a shame because I met his friends and his family, and they all cared and loved him very much. If he had asked them for their help, they would have dropped everything that they were doing and gone to his aid. One person in particular," Miles said as the image of Earth-1610 Kitty Pryde appeared in his mind. He could tell just by looking at her and how she acted that she loved Peter Parker and even after a year of him being dead Kitty was still suffering. He can only hope that one day Peter will reveal himself to everyone and maybe so he and Kitty can get together because Miles could tell even then that Peter loved Kitty. All Miles can hope is that one day those two will find each other again and never let go. "My Peter handled things solo, he fought the Green Goblin and Sinister Six solo, and he died. A hero died that day, but not just a hero but a son, a brother, and a friend. And later on, I took over as Spider-Man. I didn't know my Peter Parker not personally anyway, everything I knew I learned from his allies, friends, and family." Miles looks up at Peter then, "But you Peter you're different, I do know you, I've swung alongside you, I've fought alongside you, you're my friend, my mentor, but most of all you're the closest thing that I've ever had to an older brother. If you were to die Peter, I wouldn't be losing a friend I'd be losing my older brother."
Franklin spoke up next, "Uncle Peter ever since I could remember you have always been my hero. You represented everything that I thought a hero should be, did everything that a hero should do. Whenever there was trouble you would always jump in, no crime is ever too big or too small, you're always trying to save everyone, always trying to help everyone. Because like you always say With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. You're my hero but most of all you're my uncle and I don't want to see anything bad happen to you," Franklin said
"We don't want to see anything bad happen to you Uncle Pete," Valeria said
"Miles, Franklin, Valeria," Peter said obviously touched by them.
"Peter, I told you this a long time ago and I'm gonna tell you again. When you join the Fantastic Four you're not just joining a team, you're joining a family. We're your family Peter, and whenever you need us, we'll be there," Johnny said
"Peter, I understand your point of view. You're right you started out in this world alone and you've learned how to handle things alone. But you're not alone anymore Peter, you have people who will be there for you Peter, who will help you if you ask for it," Reed said
"We get that we can't be there for every situation you get yourself in Pete. Trust me, we do. We just…," Bobby said
"We just want you to start asking more and to stop taking so much alone," Angelica said
"Yeah, web for brain, you, me, and hot stuff when the three of us work together we can overcome all obstacles while at the same time driving every villain crazy," Bobby said
"The message here Webs. When you find yourself in a situation that you think that you can't handle alone. Don't be a dumbass. Ask for help," Logan said
"Peter, are you hearing on what we're trying to say" Susan asked
Peter sighed, he understood perfectly, "I do Sue, I really do. I'm sorry for worrying you guys, really, I am. The only thing that I can do is promise that I will try to ask for help when I need it," Peter said
"That's good to hear," Reed said
"Now onto our next form of business," Ben said
"Wait, there's another one, what's this one," Peter asked
"Mary Jane Wattson," Logan answered
"MJ? What about her," Peter asked
"Peter your relationship to her, it isn't healthy," Susan said
"What relationship? We broke up weeks ago," Peter said
"And in a couple of months you two will get together like you always do. Seriously Pete, every time you two are single you always go back to each other. You get together, break up, get together, break up. it's an endless cycle," Bobby said
"You always give Mary Jane chances. Chances of being with you. Chances of you two being together and every time it is the same outcome with her leaving you and breaking your heart," Angelica said
"Mary Jane isn't in it for the long run Uncle Pete. If she was you two would already be married," Valeria said
"Peter you're smart enough to know that what you do with Mary Jane is harmful to both of you. Maybe not physically but emotionally it is. You and Mary Jane are in a loop Peter, no matter how many times you try, the results will always be the same. It's time to break the loop Peter, it's time to let go of Mary Jane," Susan said
"Mary Jane is a chapter that you need to close Pete. Close so you can open to a new chapter with someone else, someone better. Someone who can understand you, all parts of you and someone who can accept you," Bobby said
"Someone who will love you for all of you. Peter Parker and Spider-Man both. There is someone out there like that Peter," Angelica said
"Well, I would love to meet this mystery woman Angelica," Peter said, what he didn't see was Bobby's smile.
Present Day
"Oh yeah that's how," Peter said, after the intervention Bobby took Peter to the side and revealed that he set Peter up for a blind date. Said that Peter needed to realize that Marry Jane isn't the only woman for him that there was a better one out there. All he had to do was open his eyes to the prospect, and to do that Bobby set Peter up on a date with someone that he's sure he'll click with. Peter tried to get out of it but in the end found himself promising to give it a try. Peter tried to find out anything he could about his date, the only thing he got from Bobby was that she was a former X-Man. So yeah, he's going out on a date with a former X-Man, who Bobby also told that he was Spider-Man, great, just great. The only thing that kept Peter from killing Bobby was his reassurance that his secret was safe with this person, went as far to say that this person would take his secret to their gave. The look of certainty in Bobby's eyes made Peter reluctantly forgive Bobby. He did warn his friend though to never do that again which Bobby promised. Said the only reason why he did it was because this person would have figured it out in no time, and that this date and relationship would only work with everything on the table so to speak. Peter sighed, perhaps everyone is right, perhaps he and MJ just weren't meant to be. Maybe there really is someone better out there for him, he's never been closed to the possibility that he could love someone other than Mary Jane. After all he had loved Felicia, Angelica, and Gwen. Not to mention he's dated women such as Carlie Cooper and Bobbi Morse. Perhaps he should be more open minded about this date and give it his best shot after all according to Bobby he's convinced that he'll click with this woman. Finally, Peter could see his destination, it was the Central Park Krakoan gate, well of course he'd be meeting this person at the Krakoan gate, they were X-Men and the X-Men reside in Krakoa now. As he got closer to the gate Peter was just able to see someone standing nearby. 'I guess that's her,' Peter thought, taking a deep calming breath, he makes his way over the person.
Once he's close enough Peter could see just what the woman looked like, and he was truly stunned at the beauty that he saw before him. Right before Peter's very eyes is a woman who seemed to be about 5'6, she had long brown hair that was waved, hazel eyes, she was wearing a black waist fitting dress that ended above her knees, and black low tops. To say that the woman before him was beautiful would be an understatement if you asked Peter. But that wasn't the biggest surprise, no the biggest surprise is who the woman was, 'What have you gotten me into Bobby,' Peter internally asked, deciding to ask his friend himself Peter takes out his cellphone and calls his amazing friend.
Somewhere in New York
There is a chase going on in the streets of New York, the police are chasing an armored truck that is being driven by two thieves. The police were doing everything that they could to chase the thieves but the villains stayed elusive.
"Ha these cops are a bunch of idiots," the driver said
"How about we lose them before we get cocky shall we," the thief in the passenger seat said
"You're paranoid, we're gonna get away, these cops stand no chance against us. We'll be home free soon, then we can deliver the package and get paid," the driver said
"I wonder what's in this truck that is so important anyway," the passenger asked
"Don't know, don't care, but considering who it is that's paying us, it has to be something big," the driver said as he made a hard right.
The two cop cars who were still giving chase to the thieves tried to make the hard right, one was able to make the turn but the other couldn't and quickly lost control. The cops screamed as they both got ready to crash, possibly ending their lives. The crash, however, didn't happen because an ice slide was made in front of the car. The car got on the slide and followed the slides path until finally the car was able to slow and hit a pile of snow that was gathered in the middle of the road stopping it.
The cops groaned in pain but noticed that other than a headache and some bruises they were relatively ok. "Uh what happened," the driver asked
"I'm not sure but I think we just slid on a path of ice and hit a pile of snow," the partner said
"That gentlemen is exactly what happened," a voice said from outside the car, the two officers looked outside to see none other than Bobby Drake known to the world as an original member of the X-Men but known to the people of New York City as one of three of the Amazing Friends.
"Iceman," the driver stated
"You gentlemen alright," Iceman said
"We're fine, but there's a couple of thieves who stole an armored truck," the partner said
"An armored truck, that's never good. Armored trucks normally mean something important is in there, normally something dangerous. Do you know what was in the truck," Iceman asked
The officers shook their heads no, "Even if we did, we wouldn't tell you this is police business," the driver rudely said
"FRANK, THAT'S ENOUGH," the partner told his partner Frank, the partner then looked at Iceman, "Sorry about him Iceman," the partner apologized.
Iceman shrugged it off, "I'm used to it," he said, it was true Bobby was used to rude people whether they be police, civilian, villain, or even fellow heroes whether it's because of the prejudice of mutants, the police rudeness towards him because he does their job better than them. It's not him being cocky, it's just a fact Bobby, Angelica, Peter and all the other heroes out there have an advantage because of their powers or enhanced abilities and because of this they can get the job done quicker and more efficient than the police can, and a lot of the force doesn't like it. Heck, Peter once told him that the force once framed him for a crime once. It was later revealed that the crime was bogus and that really damaged the police's reputation. Finally, Bobby gets crap because of Krakoa, people still don't seem to trust Krakoa which he guesses he can understand, some of Krakoa's actions could be considered hostile to some people's point of view.
"Anyway, we don't know what's in the truck, but another cruiser is pursuing them, you should probably go after them," the partner said
"Don't worry about that, my partners are after them right now," Iceman said
"Spider-Man and Firstar, that's a relief," the partner said
"Firestar yes, Spider-Man, well he's busy tonight, we do have a stand in though," Iceman said getting a confused look from the officers.
"Who," Frank asked
Bobby smiled, "Well…"
With the chase
The chase is still going on between the cops and thieves much to the enjoyment of the driver who is having the time of his life to the annoyance of his partner.
"Would you quit goofing around and lose them already," the partner said
"You're no fun. Don't you know the chase is half the fun," the driver said
"Just wait till a super comes in, then we'll see who is having fun and it won't be us," the partner said
"You're paranoid, if a superhero was gonna come then they would have already arrived by now," the driver said
"You're right," a voice said getting the two thieves' attention. They looked out the driver's window and saw none other than Johnny Storm also known as the Human Torch flying beside the truck. "We would already have been here, and we are."
The two thieves screamed in surprise at seeing a member of the Fantastic Four, they then hear a knock and look out to the passengers window to see none other than Firstar flying on the other side of the truck, "You boys maybe would like to give up," Firestar asked, the answer came in a storm of bullets being shot at her and Johnny making them retreat back in the air, "I guess that's a no," she commented
"I'm kind of glad that they didn't give up, it's not every day that I get to be an Amazing Friend," Johnny said
"You called our name lame," Angelica dead panned reminding Johnny of his comment back at Peter's intervention. The two then sped forward to catch up to the truck.
"It is a lame name. I mean Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends what were you guys thinking," Johnny said as they caught up to the armored truck dodging bullets from the thieves.
"All of the good names were taken; Bobby offered the Revengers, but we all agreed that is was too much of an aggressive name for the three of us. Besides it was Bobby's fault that we got the name in the first place. During one of the times that the media actually caught up to us, one of the reporters ask what we called ourselves and Bobby joked the we were Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, the paper printed the name and we were stuck with it," Firestar explained as she and Human Torch lowered to where they were and inch above the street, they then blasted the wheels of the truck melting the tires making the truck slow down until it stopped much to the thieves surprise. Firstar and Human Torch then landed ten feet in front of the truck, "After Spidey and I blamed Bobby for the name, the three of us talked about it and thought that it was actually a pretty good name, we did decide to take out Spider-Man from the name and just call ourselves The Amazing Friends. We decided that we wanted to be a…I guess you could say a kid friendly hero group. We wanted to be approachable to people. Neither mutants nor Spider-Man had the best reputation and we wanted to change that," Angelica further explained as the two thieves got out of the truck and started to shoot at the two heroes who evade the bullets easily. It's not their first-time handling people with guns. Once the bullets ran out and the two thieves went to reload, Firestar blasted the guns melting them making them totally useless.
Seeing that their guns were useless the two thieves decided that it was a good idea to run away and hope that they could lose the heroine. Neither, however, noticed that Human Torch landed behind them and neither would know because before either realized it Johnny slammed their heads together knocking them out. "That was fun," Johnny said as Angelica walked over to him.
"I guess so," Angelica said, she then looked at the armored truck, "What do you think is in there that is worth stealing?"
"Not sure, when you think about it, it could be anything," Johnny said
Angelica decided to take a closer look at the truck, as she got closer, she noticed that the truck said Oscorp on it. Seeing the name made Angelica's face darken, "Of course it's Oscorp. Doesn't matter whether Sin Eater took away his sins or not Norman Osborn will always cause some type of trouble. The question is how much trouble is he causing now," Angelica said, making a decision Angelica went to the back of the truck where she saw two steel doors.
"What are you doing," Johnny asked as he followed Angelica, in response Angelica activated her powers an aura surrounded her hand.
"I'm gonna see what Osborn is planning," Angelica said getting ready to fire and destroy the steel doors. Before she could though Human Torch stopped her.
"Whoa whoa, that's not why we're here," Johnny said as he lowered Angelica's arm to the ground, "We came here to stop a robbery, and we did. we should probably leave now."
"You don't know Osborn if there is something in there that is owned by him, then that means trouble," Angelica said speaking from personal experience, she's witnessed the horrors that Norman Osborn is capable of. If they leave this alone then they'll regret it, maybe not now, maybe not a week from now or even a month, but they will, they always do.
"But wasn't Osborn purified by Sin Eater," Johnny asked
"A leopard is more likely to change its spots than Norman Osborn decides to be on the side of good," Angelica responded
Before Johnny could reply, Iceman slides in, "I see you guys caught the thieves," Iceman said
"It was a piece of cake," Johnny said
"What are you guys still doing here? the cops are on their way, we should leave," Bobby said
"Take a look and see whose truck these guys were robbing," Angelica said
Doing as Angelica says Iceman walks up to the truck and to his surprise, dismay, and anger it says Oscorp, "Osborn, what is that snake up to this time," Iceman asks seriously, there is no joking when it comes to that maniac, the Green Goblin is someone that you take seriously. He knows about the Sin Eater purifying Osborn and he doesn't buy it, not until he sees it for himself.
"That's what I'm about to find out," Angelica said as she readies a blast, just then they hear police sirens.
"That's our que to leave guys, I don't think the police would be thrilled to see three heroes breaking into the truck that they worked so hard to retrieve," Human Torch said trying to convince Iceman and Firestar to go and leave the truck alone.
Iceman gave the truck a hard look. Whatever is in there, if Norman Osborn produced it then it will one day cause them trouble, Bobby was tempted to screw it and blast these doors down himself. He decided against it though, if the police were to catch them then a big misunderstanding would occur and the next thing they know they'll either find themselves fighting the police or most likely running from them due to the fact that none of them would want to harm any of the officers, and frankly they can't have that tonight, he and Angelica decided to take Peter's place and patrol New York so Peter can focus on his date, and Johnny wound up joining not too long ago by pure coincidence. Johnny doesn't know about Peter's date, before accepting the blind date Peter made a condition that no one is to know. He didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, especially considering Peter wasn't sure it would work out. The guy always hated blind dates. So anyways, Peter is currently on his date and he, Angelica, and he guesses Johnny are taking his place for tonight, but they wouldn't be doing so for long if they are being chased by the police it would prevent them from doing their job. Not to mention word could get out to Peter about what is happening causing him to bail on the date to help them. Knowing that that is the most likely scenario Bobby decided they should leave. "Torch is right, we should leave," Iceman said getting a relived look from Johnny and a surprised look from Angelica.
Angelica gets serious again and walks up close to Bobby to where they are an inch apart, "You know that if we leave whatever is in there alone, we'll be dambing New York and especially Peter to the consequences," Angelica whispered
"We'll figure out what's going on eventually, and when the time comes the Amazing Friends will defend New York just as we always do together. But until then, we should leave," Iceman said
Angelica contemplated what Bobby said, she isn't sure this is a good idea, if they find out what's in there now then they can prepare for whatever is to come. But Angelica came to the same conclusion that Bobby had when she thought about destroying the doors. She just figures that even if Peter does come than his date would understand and they could set up a makeup date. But looking into Bobby's eyes Angelica knew he was serious and decided to relent, "Fine let's go," Angelica said getting relieved looks from her two companions. The three heroes then left the scene just as the police arrived.
"Ok so I have to ask, Angelica explained to me that the Amazing Friends name was your fault Iceman, but where did spider-friends and go for it come from," Human Torch asked
"Spider-friends again is Bobby's fault. He just had to make another joke toward the media. To say the least Peter and I forbid Bobby from talking to the media," Angelica said
"I've gotten better at it," Bobby defended
"Ok but what about go for it? I mean seriously go for it," Johnny said
Bobby was about to defend their battle cry when a ringing sound went off. Recognizing the ring to be his cellphone Johnny took it out and put it in his ear.
"Go for Torch. Yeah, yeah…sigh…alright I'll be right there," Johnny said, he then hung up the phone and looked at Iceman and Firestar, "Gotta jet, big sis wants to see me, says it's urgent."
"Later flame brain," Iceman said
"Until next time ice pick, firestar," Johnny said
"See ya Johnny," Firestar said
Johnny then flew off to 4th Yancy street to see what his sister wanted to talk about.
"Looks like we're down one member again, this'll be fun," Angelica said as she turned to look at Iceman.
Before Iceman could respond they heard another cellphone ring. Recognizing it as his cellphone ring Bobby stops the ice slide and takes out his phone, "Well that's just weird," Iceman said, he then answered the phone, "Hello."
"YOU SET ME UP ON A BLIND DATE WITH KITTY PRYDE," Peter's voice came from the phone.
"So, I guess you liked your surprise," Bobby joked he expected this reaction.
Central Park
Peter pinched the bridge of his nose, "Kitty Pryde, you set me up on a date with Kitty Pryde of all people," Peter said
"She actually goes by Kate now. Don't ask me why, I'm still trying to figure that out myself,"Bobby responded
"Why in the world would you set me up on a date with Kitty Pryde," Peter asked, wondering what was going through Bobby's mind to think that was a good idea.
"Because you two would be good together, trust me when you think about it. The two of you together make sense," Bobby explained
"Did you not listen when I told you about what happened to me on Miles earth about what I discovered," Peter said
"You mean when you discovered that your alternate self dated Kate's alternate self? Yup, I remember," Iceman said
"Key word dated, past tense, which means that our alternate selves broke up and how much do you want to bet that it was my alternate self's fault. You are setting us up to fail, I'm telling you I will screw it up somehow. If my alternate self did what makes you think I won't," Peter said
"You realize that's a dumb reason to not wanting to go on a date with her right Peter? I mean you dated Mary Jane plenty of times over the years and no matter how many times she broke up with you, no matter how many times your relationship with her failed, you still kept on trying. Now you're saying that just because you heard that your alternate self dated Kitty's alternate self and broke up, that your gonna have that keep you from trying something with our Kitty, who when you think about it, you don't even know yet. Is that what you're saying," Firestar said getting silence in response.
"Listen Pete, the difference between you and your alternate self is that you're older and you know better than to do whatever he did," Iceman said
"And how do you know, what he did? Did Miles tell you or something," Peter asked
"No, he didn't I'm only going off what I know and from what I know, yours, Kitty's, mine, and Johnny's alternates selves were only a few years older than Miles himself, and your alternate self died when he was sixteen which means that he was only a kid when he made whatever mistake he made towards his Kitty. You're older than him Peter and more mature, I highly doubt that you'll make the same mistake. Besides no matter what you do, Kate will understand," Bobby said
"And what makes you think that," Peter asked
"How about instead of telling you, you just go and find out yourself," Bobby said
Peter sighed, "This is a bad idea," he said
"Just give it a try Peter after all what do you have to lose," Firestar said
Peter sighed again, "Alright, fine I'll give it a shot," he answered
"Alright man, talk to you tomorrow," Iceman said
"And remember no Spider-Manning tonight, you just focus on your date," Firestar reminded/told.
"Alright, I'll talk to you guys later," Peter said
"Talk to you later Pete," Iceman said as he hung up the phone.
Peter hung up his phone and put it in his pocket, he took a deep breath, "Well here we go," he said, he then made his way toward the Krakoan gate where his date Kitty now Kate Pryde is waiting.
Finally, Peter approached her, she doesn't seem to have noticed him, looks like she's in her own head. He has to admit that she looks kind of cute while thinking. Shaking those thoughts out of his head for now. Let's see where this date takes them, then he can think about how attractive she looks. Peter cleared his throat getting Kate's attention on him. As Kate looks at him, Peter starts to feel nervous.
"Um, hi I'm Peter Parker, you must be my date," Peter said nervously.
