Metropolis
August 3, 07:38 EDT
As the bridge that connected the heart of downtown Metropolis to its suburbs began to fall in on itself, Superman flew across the river to save the day.
Flying under the structure the Last son of Krypton used his arms to hold the underside of the bridge up while using his heat vision to fuse together the metal workings that supported the concrete and asphalt above him.
While up above higher than the bridge but not to the skies two teenage heroes fell to the ground with their hearts set to help.
One of the teens was a young woman, a female clone of Superman named Supergirl. Created in part to replace Superman should he perish, to destroy him should he turn from the Light. She had mid-length black hair wavy hair that was trimmed with an undercut on one side of her head. With a statuesque athletic build under a black T-shirt and blue jeans, the young hero narrowed her piercing blue eyes as she looked at her target, the cars teetering over the edges of the bridge.
Alongside the female clone was another young hero a young man with spiky blond hair a pair of sky-blue eyes and a series of whisker-like cheek marks on the sides of his face. He held his arm around Supergirl before using the power of their fall to hold the young woman in his arms as they landed on the bridge, somehow defining physics as they didn't land with a force from the speed of their descent.
Naruto Uzumaki looked back at Supergirl, smiling at his teammate looked back at him with a blank expression as she blinked and said, "You can put me down now."
The young man dressed in orange and black let out a nervous laugh as he set his friend down. With her on equal footing, it was an interesting sight to see that Supergirl and Naruto were near the same height with the Girl of Steel having a few extra inches on him.
Seeing the chaos in front of him Naruto immediately slapped the sides of his face as he got his game face on and held up his hands making his finger perform a cross-shaped seal.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
In a puff of smoke, four more Naruto's appeared literary out of thin air as they all rushed over to the distressed motorists who were in need of help.
With the clones helping by pulling the citizens out of their vehicles, the real Naruto and Supergirl focused their attention on the vehicle on the bridge most in danger of falling over the edge, a school bus full of children.
As they ran towards the yellow bus Supergirl placed her hands under its rear bumper and began to pull it up. Lifting the metal transportation off its back wheels just a bit off the ground left more than enough space for Naruto to slide underneath the bus as he managed to stop himself from sliding off the bridge with the assistance of more copies of himself.
"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Unlike before when Naruto uttered those similar words the young man wasn't met with a team but a platoon of doublegangers of himself as all the Naruto's managed to pick up the bus from its undercarriage and help Supergirl lift the long metal tube completely in the air.
With a better footing, Supergirl managed to guild the Naruto's by walking backward getting the bus out of danger and safety back on the side of the bridge and away from the edge.
Once out of harm's way Supergirl released her hold and let the bus fall back down, unfortunately, thanks to her super strength she had taken the bulk of the weight off. So, with her help gone the Naruto's were left with the rest of the force as the bus's extra might fell on top of them.
The real Naruto rolled out of the way as he was immediately bombarded by the memories of what it felt like getting crushed by a bus was like about a dozen times before he got up.
Dusting his pants off Naruto marched up to Supergirl as he let her have a piece of his mind. "Are you crazy you could have turned me into a pancake!"
Supergirl's expression matched Naruto's as she held her own and replied, "You got out of the way in time, didn't you?"
The two looked at each other as if they were going to break out in a fight in the middle of the bridge until a presence from the sky managed to get their attention.
Superman, having just finished giving the structure a quick duct tape fix landed a few feet away from the two young heroes and right next to the yellow school bus.
"You should have been more careful," Superman said as he addressed his female counterpart. "Not all your teammates are going to be able to predict your next move like Naruto managed to do."
Supergirl folded her arms and looked away in anger as Superman placed his arm on Naruto's shoulder and gave the young man a warm smile, something Supergirl had yet to receive since meeting her genetic forbearer.
"How you've been Naruto?" Superman asked as he patted the young man on the back.
Naruto kept his giddiness hidden with a simple smile and placed his arms behind his back, "You know me, Uncle Kal, I'm as spry as ever!"
Letting out a small laugh Superman added with the usual pleasantries that his adoptive parents had managed to distill onto him. "How's your father, Batman says that he's gone off on another one of his adventures again, where's that old fox landed this time?"
"He's in a dimension called Gemworld right now," Naruto replied with a shrug. "He's off rescuing a dethroned princess of some kind and helping her get her kingdom back from an evil warlord, or Chaos Lord, or some kind of lord."
"That sounds like your dad, always there to lend a hand to those in need," Superman said. "I know if he were here right now, he'd be proud of you following in his footsteps at being a hero."
Naruto beamed at the compliment before he pointed over toward Supergirl, "Yeah, well I'm rescuing my own princess' too!"
Superman saw his clone continue to look away as if she was angry at the remark, but a small subtle smile and a rosy tint of her cheeks told him otherwise. "Yes…well, I should get going."
Before Superman could take off Supergirl called out to him, "Wait!" a few steps were all it took for her to maneuver around Naruto and get in close contact with her genetic counterpart. "We came here to…I came here to see if you could…spend some time together...with me?"
The Supergirl's face turned a shade brighter as she nervously held her arm at her side. "With training I mean!" she clarified, trying desperately not to sound too personal.
Looking back at the clone Superman couldn't help but notice how much she'd changed since the last time he saw the young woman. Not just her hair that was different from the long locks she had when Naruto and his friends helped her escape from Cadmus but also her attire.
Instead of her white solar suit, the sneakers and blue jeans she wore gave him a more civies vibe while her shirt, for his taste, seemed a bit inappropriate. Not the stylized red S on the front, if his memory served him right it was the same logo used by the punk band the Gotham City Sirens, a band he'd seen once during his adolescents when he'd fly over to Gotham to watch musicians perform in underground clubs without his parents finding out.
While the shirt in itself was fine, even Supergirl's most likely choice of wearing it for the large S, it was the way that the garment had been modified that alarmed him a bit. Supergirl had ripped off the sleeves and altered the neckline so as to show off her very ample cleavage that looked like it could have rivaled Diana's…not that he was comparing her bust…or Diana's!
Rubbing the back of his head it was now Superman's turn to look over his shoulder as he tried to address the young lady before him. "B…Batman's got training covered."
Supergirl looked like she wanted to interject, "I…I know but…"
Superman held up his hand to stop her from speaking as he used his other hand to press into the comm link in his ear. "Superman," he called over the communication device. "Wait Arrow slow down…" With a look of genuine concern, Superman began to step away as he tried to make sense of what Green Arrow was apparently sawing over the superphone.
"No," Superman said firmly into the comm, "I'm definitely available."
Supergirl looked down at the ground as Naruto tried to comfort her as he glared at the back of Superman's head, "Uncle Kal!"
Superman responded with just his hand again as he asked, "Coordinates?" A second later it seemed like he got his destination. "Acknowledged on my way."
"I'm sorry Naruto, Super…girl." It seemed like Superman was still having trouble saying that name out loud. "Duty calls." With that as his goodbye he gently lifted off the ground and hovered up towards the sky, most likely to go a safe distance before heading off at his supersonic speed.
Just as he was about to go from up, up to away with the added boost of his super hearing and the fact that Supergirl managed to find the strength to shout it out, she yelled something that made the Man of Steel feel like a man made of paper.
"Father, please wait!"
Even though it shouldn't have Superman felt like the young woman's voice screeched at him like nails on a chalkboard. Turning around and looking down at the heartbroken clone he floated down enough not to shout out his response to her cry.
"Supergirl I'm not your…" realizing that his tone sounded panicky and frantic Superman paused as he let out a sigh and looked back at her with stern eyes. "I'm not your father," he managed to weaken his resolve on that statement by looking at her a bit more softly, "I've got to go."
As he turned around and went supersonic, Supergirl felt the weight of his words and his wake as the gust from his supersonic takeoff washed over her. Naruto tried to reach out to her in hopes of finding a way to make her feel better.
"S…Supergirl?"
"This is all your fault!" Supergirl shouted as she turned around and grabbed Naruto's hand. "You said if I called him father that it would cut away the tension!"
Naruto processed what Supergirl had said before he looked back at her with the same level of anger, "I didn't say to call him father, you weirdo! I said you should have called him dad or old man to make it funnier!"
"…what's the difference?!" Supergirl shouted back.
Naruto managed to turn his hand around and hold onto Supergirl's as he mocked Supergirl with his anger fueling his tone. "The way you said it was like you were saying it like some old-timey Victorian Era dutchess…lady…you were all like Daddy, Daddy, you're my Daddy!"
Supergirl's face was the same shade as her not father's heat vision as she looked like she was trying to muster up her own version of the blast. "Shut up or I'm going to sit on your face!"
"….WHAT?!"
The elevated heart rate and the way Naruto's sit-able face seemed to break out in sweat had told Supergirl that what she said could have meant something else. Dubbilex and the other Genomorphs had telepathically taught her much, but none of it covered 21st-century sexual nomenclature or innuendo.
Trying his best but failing Naruto tried to keep his eyes locked on Supergirl's, even if it meant getting impromptu laser eyes surgery should her power chosen now to manifest heat vision, but his hormonal mind had caused his eyes to pan down and look at the same amble cleavage that Superman had tried desperately to ignore.
If the emerald-toned member of their little superhero club formed of sidekicks and young heroes was here and if she had used her telepathic abilities to hone in on Naruto's mind she would have heard the phrase "…don't look at her boobs, don't look at her boobs, don't look at her boobs!" repeated over and over like a mantra in the young man's mind.
Supergirl however would have had the same problem as she too was reciting, "…don't smell his neck, don't smell his neck, don't smell his neck!" as she tried to steed her own grown lust for the spiky-haired hero.
Naruto's eyes looked down at the same time Supergirl took a whiff.
"...Damn it!" they both said out loud at the same time albeit for different reasons.
Slowly feeling like they were being watched Naruto looked over at the school bus to see its occupiers, the young children looking back at the slightly older two with interest.
Seeing where his hand was Naruto let Supergirl's hand go as she pulled it back as if she was a normal human who had just touched something hot.
Naruto tried to clear his throat as he pointed back towards the city, "do you…" he coughed in his hand before clearing it out. "Do you want to get something to eat before heading back?"
"You want to get food?" Supergirl asked.
"Or something like ice cream, I don't think you've had ice cream before?"
"No, I haven't…"
Naruto held out his hand again as Supergirl looked back at it curiously. "You still need to work on your landings, remember?" the young man said reminding Supergirl of why he had carried her to the bridge in the first place. "We don't want to rock the boat, right?"
"…we're on a bridge."
"I...I know that I just meant…"
"Relax," Supergirl said as she took Naruto's hand, "I was just messing with you."
Naruto let out another nervous laugh as pulled Supergirl in tight and they both leaped into the air. As the same as before they used the force of the fall to let Supergirl's legs dangle in the air so as to let Naruto hold them as he carried her off to a nearby eating establishment that served Ice Cream so early in the morning.
AN: This story has hanky panky so, enjoy some hanky panky next time…I was going to draft a story with Naruto and Kara Zor-El Supergirl but as I planned that out, I wanted to make it have some more meat on its bones.
This is like Flash of Steel, just fun I read a Naruto and female Superboy story once that I think got deleted or something…this is technically not a gender swap because I'm using the Mia Supergirl who is also a clone of Superman, so there if this gets to Match he can be regular Superboy…also I'm really digging on Sasha Calle rendition of Supergirl so there you go….
