hello everyone and welcome to my new fanfiction. I noticed that there aren't many LxOc stories and they tend to be short or unfinished so I thought I'd make my own. I hope you enjoy and be sure to leave a course I don't own the original Death Note characters, but I definitely own my Oc.

- Animal talk-

From the sound of intense dripping as well as the cold and wet feeling on her body, she realized that she was most likely somewhere in the open and in the middle of heavy rain. In the background she could hear the rumble of an engine as well as the occasional honking that indicated she was near a road on the street. Her strength gradually began to return, as did her mobility, but an unusual uneasy feeling in her body refused to go away, as did a dull headache. Her eyelids seemed very heavy, but she slowly managed to open her eyes and take a first look at her unfamiliar surroundings. It took her a few moments until her vision cleared and she began to convey to her brain the appearance of the place she was in. It was quite dark which indicated that it was a very late hour, and the alley was deserted as she thought many people didn't pass by very often even during the day.

The only light she had was the street lights that were a good twenty meters away from her. Despite the dim light she could see the things in front of her in detail surprisingly well. Not far from her were trash cans that were leaning against the depressingly gray walls of the buildings and houses that surrounded them. She didn't notice any other passage or gate or turn. The street was perfectly straight and narrow so that a smaller car could hardly pass through it. After careful consideration she closed her eyes again trying not to think about the cold or how wet she was from the torrential rain that had been soaking her for who knows how long, trying to remember again how she ended up in such a place.

Unfortunately, the headache did not subside at all, and the smell that finally reached her nose did not make this whole situation any easier. , Oh Jesus, how did I end up here. I've never gotten so drunk that I end up on the street with a hangover so bad I can't remember almost anything. No more Jack Daniels for me, ever again.' She told herself as she tried to remember the basics about herself hoping that it would force her brain to remember the last thing that happened before she ended up in this rain. She took several deep breaths and slowly began to speak one by one. , My name is Tomoko Fukumoto. I'm twenty-one years old and I work as an FBI agent and if anyone asks me I work as an emergency responder. I grew up in the Shikoku region in the city of Tokushima. At eighteen I moved to America and started working as an agent and I am their best spy. The last mission was...' At that moment, like a fast truck, she was hit hard by what happened while a scene like a movie unfolded before her eyes.

Flashback

Early morning hours, not far from the city of New York in one of the abandoned buildings not far from the coast that served as a place for fish processing for a couple of decades. Tomoko and her three colleagues were guarding the eastern exit of the building that faced the sea, waiting for the signal to break in and infiltrate. The case was human trafficking that took place in recent months, and the main missing victims were mostly teenagers and young people. The place was quite isolated and unstable, which made the situation even more difficult, as did the ignorance of the opponent's condition and the exact location in the huge building. Tomoko was the first to step inside the derelict place scanning the place to the last detail checking if there was any nearby or if there were any traps. Her colleague Marcus carried a signal jammer with him that even if the security cameras were nearby the image was frozen. ,, Clear to the east. We enter the building. I'm leaving the connection open." Tomoko whispered as she signaled to the others that it was safe to start moving and sneaking in. They moved slowly through the factory trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, paying attention to the slightest movement. "Command on all teams. " It came from the receiver that was installed on the visor of the helmets on the heads of the agents.

Tomoko raised her right hand as a signal to hide and stop while she adjusted her two left hands with her pistols and unloaded to be ready for a quick shot just in case. "This is the eastern team. We're listening." Tomoko answered as softly as she could as she kept her eyes on the upper floors of the factory and listened to everything around her, not liking how peaceful and quiet it was at all. A bad feeling started to wash over her, knowing that trouble was near, tightening his gun in his left hand.,, Target located. They're moving towards you. Twenty of them with a sniper exactly three minutes from you." This automatically meant that they would be set up to cut off the road, distract and cause confusion until the rest of the units could get into position for a favorable counter attack Which she didn't like at all. Tomoko was known for coming up with tactics on the spot and getting out of impossible situations. Which was the reason why they assign her such a dangerous task, because they know that she will give everything of herself to get every single agent and civilian out of there alive at any cost. She was as proud of that as she was cursing, because it wouldn't be the first time they changed their plan so suddenly and put such a high risk on her.

,, How many civilians and their condition?" she asked quickly waving her hand in the mess of stairs and shelters. at the other end of the hall, signaling to the others to get ready and take their positions. "Thirty-three. They seem not too injured but also exhausted. Some can barely move." this was not good at all, because if fire is opened, they will not be able to count on their escape, and they can easily be taken hostage. "The others are getting ready to take their positions. They are waiting for your sign." She didn't even wait long for the commander to leave the case in her hands, but she was already used to it and didn't let it get on her nerves. Especially at a moment like this. "Call at least twenty ambulances and reinforcements immediately on our location. disconnecting." They better be safe because there was a very low chance that only the enemy would be hurt. As she hung up, footsteps could be heard echoing down the hallway of the old factory, her cue to stop for the show. She watched as Peter set up a transmitter with sound and lights as a diversion until help arrived.

The sensors were attached to small shooters that fire small metal balls that inflict painful but not fatal shocks. Marcus and Lily positioned themselves on the ramps above both entrances to the workroom while Tomoko guarded the exit. She looked again over the room, which was full of tanks of stale fish oil, rusty chopping and packaging machines, lots of cables everywhere... In places like this, it was easy to get into an accident or go against them. the door opened and the eight most armed entered first, inspecting the room and acting reassured, thinking that everything was clean. , The camera trick worked.' she thought to herself, a few more of them entered and then started dragging the missing civilians behind them, who seemed half dead, pale, with bruises and wounds on their faces and limbs, barely moving.

Tomoko fired the first string into the right hand of the group leader who fell to his knees screaming. The others pushed the civilians forward, intending to use them as shields, while Peter remotely turned on the devices and the mock fire began. The enemy shot the upper parts of the factory hoping to hit one of the agents while they were shot from the back of the Tomoko team's targeting in the extremities, especially the arms, trying to incapacitate them as soon as possible. The civilians were smart enough to cover their faces and crouch on the ground, taking less damage from the fake ammunition. By the time the enemies realized the trick, there were only two of them left, who started targeting Lily and Marcus, who were hiding on the upper parts of the factory and successfully avoided the shots aimed at them. Other units soon moved in and surrounded the civilians to protect them, while some chased after the remaining gang members and tied up the downed ones. long chases around the factory managed to bring in the idiots who were stupid enough to even try to run human trafficking. The Tomoko team joined in to help the civilians, but they noticed something unusual. Tomoko noticed that there were thirty two civilians in front of her, which started to panic her and made her start counting how many enemies were captured. , Nineteen. One is missing!' Tomoko rushed inside another part of the factory as the others looked at her in surprise, but at the same time guessing what could have been. If she stormed off like that, it usually meant that the problem wasn't over. ,, Tomoko to all units. Cover all exits at once." She yelled into the communicator as she continued to run through the building trying to find the fugitive before he disappeared. As she raced around she heard the echo of someone walking up the rusty metal stairs and immediately rushed towards the sound preparing to shoot at the slightest sign. trouble.

She chased them to the very top of the building and found a tall, muscular, bald idiot trying to escape while dragging a boy no older than twelve years old who had tears streaming down his cheeks from fear but didn't dare utter a sound. A gang member quickly he saw and grabbed the kid by the neck and pointed a gun at his head threatening to kill him if she came any closer. "Put down your weapons and turn around with your hands in the air or the boy's days are numbered." he yelled as his hand twitched as he held the gun pointed at the boy's head. Tomoko did as she was told and turned her back on the gang member with her arms up in dismay. When he came to grab her hostage, she turned around at high speed and knocked him off the crouch and threw him backwards. She continued to throw punches, some of which were blocked but most of which dealt damage. Not knowing where to go, the gangster ran to the boy hiding in the corner and threw him over the half-demolished fence. Tomoko didn't think, but immediately rushed to the edge, seeing that the boy was barely holding on to one of the rusty seams sticking out of the concrete. She quickly managed to pull him up so that he could hold on and the boy started to climb on his own. When the boy was almost out of danger of falling, Tomoko felt a cool touch on her head and heard the all too familiar click. "Goodbye, bitch," said the gangster and fired a shot through her head. Tomoko's body fell over the half-collapsed fence straight to the lake and into the rough sea that swallowed her. In the background before the shot, she heard Lily calling for her so that she died with knowing that she managed to protect her boyfriend until help came, and then everything turned dark.

Tomoko's eyes snapped open as her breathing was ragged from the sudden recollection of her own death and her heart pounding like crazy. First she tried to calm down so she wouldn't go into shock and then she slowly started to move her body. -What the hell...- She commented in her hoarse voice as she rubbed her head. She felt that something was wrong. Her fingers were too short and thin and she couldn't even rotate her hand. She could feel that something was still wrong with her body. When she put her hand in front of her all she saw was a cat's paw with completely sea black fur. Then she started moving more suddenly and turned around, noticing her tail, mustache, triangular ears... - What in the God name is happening? Shouldn't I be dead and not a wet cat?-
