Weapon/Anti-Ship 'EXCALIBUR' Model II Electromagnetic Ionic Precision Focuser
Replacing the MAC, the EXCALIBUR is spinally mounted and lined entirely with overpowered gravity generators. These created a tightly focused gravitic 'tunnel' that is used to 'shape' ionized particles into a stream that is then directed by a wave of electromagnetic pulses, with the particles being neutralized through using high energy photons in order to increase their focus, into a near-pencil thin precision beam within a microsecond before being accelerated at 90% the speed of light, properly collimated and adjusted using a electromagnetic lenser. The resulting relativistic beam transfers an immense amount of kinetic energy and heat upon impact, causing the target's armor to instantly boil before flash-vaporizing with a further ionization effect, backed up by a burst of radiation and thermal energy that disrupts electronics and devastates the interior of the target. In live combat, the EIPFs have proven capable, even the lightest variant, of tearing through both ship-scale shielding and thick armor plating with the ease of a scalpel cutting through soggy paper, which combined with their long range, made them the prime successor of the MAC's, despite their power hungriness and somewhat low rate of fire.
Mark 2598 Onager 350mm Plasma Conduction Augmented Helical Railgun
Nicknamed the 'MiniMAC' because of its firepower matching that of a corvette grade magnetic accelerator cannon, the Onager consists of a pair of railguns, which make use of Asynchronous Linear Induction Motor technology using a series of twisting magnetic rails. These rails, when activated by a series of capacitors using power siphoned from a ship's reactors and/or nanobatteries, create a powerful but controlled electromagnetic field. This field attracts slugs and accelerates them down the barrel where they are continuously energized by brushes along the rails, while simultaneously the rails pulls, pushes and pulls, creating a mix of Lorentz Acceleration and Gaussian Acceleration, with a layer of magnetoplasma between the rails and the slug completing the circuit.
The resulting projectiles fired are one thousand pound 350mm ferrous metal jacketed depleted uranium core hammerhead slugs, which are designed to flatten upon impact, at seven thousand kilometers per second, resulting in five point six megatons of TNT transferred, which combined with the fire rate of one hundred-forty rounds per minute, makes the Onager a efficient secondary weapon that can shred any ship within 10,000 kilometers.
Onagers usually supplement the primary battery, and are always mounted in a way so that any ship with more than one Onager can cover every possible angle of the ship or station. These are also placed on small orbital weapon platforms and placed in batteries on planets to act as surface to orbit weapons, capable of providing excellent anti-air, anti-ship, or even anti-vehicle support. Other munitions used include plasma-flak shells, guided kinetic kill vehicles, APFSDS rounds, kinetic rods for orbital bombardment, and more exotic munitions such as subanese crystals and hardlight slugs.
The Onager uses a mixture of AESA radar, LIDAR and Optical sensors as targeting systems.
