When the Empire surrendered, one of the oddest members in the negotiations was a man in an early Dacian uniform that seemed to have made his way through the entire great war. The story of this man shall be the focus of tonight's broadcast. The man in the Dacian uniform was one of the most overlooked individuals in the Great War. Still, he appeared on every front the Empire fought in, usually arriving there before the empire themselves did in some cases. What little is known shall be shown in the following miniseries.

Who knew my luck would be this good that I would be one of the few to help coordinate the invasion of the Empire that had been causing havoc all over the continent? I had only just finished school when I was offered to assist in the army with an invasion to achieve glory for my country.
After a week of training, I was here in my officer's uniform, ready to achieve victory. I thought we would leave this country soon, so I was packed and ready. The timing was interesting since I was going to visit the Empire after school ended for a gap year.
I've heard that the capital of Berun is quite a sight, and I made all the preparation before joining the army. I even got a visa. I still have it in my Breast pocket as a little reminder of the plan. Sadly I would now be entering the country as a conquerer and not a tourist.
Though the day began as well as I thought it would, it quickly became a mess. I could hear all The messages coming from the command tent that our divisions were getting slaughtered by a single unit of flying devils.
Then a shadow went over the camp, causing everyone to stop and look up to see what was happening. The general then told us to gather our gear to be ready. I grabbed my Mannlicher and proceeded with everyone else just as a group of Imperial soldiers landed in the middle of our camp, led by a girl who looked no older than 9.
The little girl then began talking to us in Dacian but was still clearly learning some of it since she didn't really have an accent and said some words wrong but not so severely that we couldn't understand her.
"Welcome to the fatherland. It seems there might have been an understanding of the purpose of your visit, business, or pleasure. May I see your visa?"
Once I heard that, I decided to play along. I took out my visa and walked up to the little good. I thought it would be fun to play before the surrounding soldiers are gunned down by our numbers here. How they landed will be a mystery, but those more competent than me can figure it out. As I walked up to the girl, she looked surprised and then said in what I can only assume was imperial, causing laughter from the soldiers around her. I thought, "Laugh it up while you still can, " as I handed in my visa. She then snatched it, opened it, and looked at the information.
"Surely he must be … no, he's got that … what about … no, that there too … huh, it even dated for today," the girl seemed to mumble as she looked for a flaw.
"Well, you coming to the empire for business or pleasure?" she said as she looked up, closing the visa.
"Lieutenant, get back here this moment," the general screamed at me.
"One moment, sir. I uh just need my visa back," I replied.
"Um, I guess pleasure, ma'am," I said to the girl as I held my hand for my visa.
"One-sec couple more questions," the girl said, putting my visa in her pocket.
"Lieutenant, get back this moment. You can get it off their corpse for all I care." the general shouted.
"Does anyone else have a visa?" the girl announced, waiting a few seconds before her following announcement.
"Then I guess the rest can enter as Prisoners of war." I then ducked because the general fired his revolver.
"You dare talk to us like that, you brat! Everyone fire lieutenant, be dammed!" leading everyone to fire on the group. As the shots rang out, I was surprised to see no one falling from being shot, even more so when I saw the bullets fall, seeming to have hit a solid wall. The girl seemed to sigh and then say something in imperial, leading to two shots ringing and silence.
"Stand up now. You're safe. We are not going to hurt you," the girl's voice said. I could see the whole encampment had been killed except for the general, who was now tied up by two imperials.
I was terrified and began crawling away from the girl back to my tent when a hand grabbed my uniform and easily picked me up. I SAW A BIG MAN when I looked to see who had done it. He stood me up before going to do some sort of other task leaving me standing in front of the little girl.
"Sorry about that, uh … Alexander Anton." she snapped fingers once she remembered my name. "Is that correct?" I shook my head yes.
"Good, good. As I said, I'd like to ask some questions concerning your visa. The first is, why do you have one for this day? Did you think you needed this to fight a war?"
"Uh, no, Miss?"
"Oh right, Major Tanya von Degurechaff." she presented herself, saluting before dropping it. "Anyway, continue."
"Well, Major Degurechaff, I was going to spend my gap year in the empire but got called for service before I got to, and the day just happened to be a coincidence."
"Hmm, a conscript. I respect that. Tell you what I'm going to do, you just so happened to catch me on the best possible day you could; it's my birthday actually, and well, I've just had the best time invading your country, not only that, but you having a visa cracks me up, so I'm going to be really nice and let you go on your merry way to the empire with a little note not to harm you when you are eventually put in a prisoner of war camp and when you get there write to me. I'll see you get a nice time out of the camp. That way, you can enjoy the empire you wanted instead of a POW camp." Tanya said with a massive smile.
If this were one of her better days, I'd hate to see her on a bad day, I thought as she told me all this. Though the deal she was making was better than the ones my comrades had gotten, it was given in such a threatening tone.
"Happy birthday, I guess?" was all I could say.
"So, do we have a deal then? I let you go. You surrender yourself to the first Imperial patrol you come across." She said, holding her hand out.
"Sure, I don't see another option," I responded, taking the Major's tiny hand and shaking it.
"Good, I knew there would be a smart Dacian soldier," she said, letting my hand go.
"May I grab my kit in case it takes a while?" I asked to hope to get my personal belongings.
"Very well, I think that is fair. Anything else you wish to grab?" she said after pondering for a moment.
"Not much, a few rations, a flag, a map, and my sword to offer to the first patrol."
"I doubt you could do much with only a sword, alright you may. Lieutenant Serebryakov, Watch him and make sure he doesn't try anything funny," she said to an imperial behind me.
Afterward, I retrieved my kit with a slightly taller imperial girl. She seemed friendly and was happy when I handed her an extra dessert from the mess tent. Though once we got all the things I wanted, we went back to the Major.
"I'm afraid this is where we part ways, my dear sensible friend, things to do gotta finish this war against your country. I wish you well, oh and if I don't get your letter in a few weeks. I know you broke our deal, and when you are inevitably captured, I will ensure your stay in our empire is the worst time of your life. Finally, here is a paper with instructions on how to surrender to the patrol did some translating to make it easier, along with a written letter from me guaranteeing your safety and how to contact me even if I'm at the front. I wish you well, and depending on where you are held, I might even see if I can visit." She said, handing me quite a full envelope and my visa back.
I Saluted her after taking it, putting the papers in my breast pocket. "Thank you. I hope to see you in better times." I then headed where I was told to.
Little did they know, but I had no intention of surrendering in what was my country or even on the border of it. If I had to do the most dishonorable thing in war, I would try to gain some back by getting as close as I could to the heart of the Empire.
