"Go!" Lowell ordered.
Joyce and me were doing the one-legged race with three other pairs.
We fell near the finish line.
We were the closest.
All the Kindergarteners were on the stage on the platform.
"Fourscore and seven years ago."
"Fourscore and seven years ago."
"Our forefathers brought forth on this continent."
"Our forefathers brought forth on this continent."
"A new nation."
"A new nation."
"Conceived in liberty."
"Conceived in liberty."
"And dedicated to the proposition."
"And dedicated to the proposition."
"That all men are created equal."
"That all men are created equal."
"And that Government."
"And that Government."
"Of the people."
"By the people."
"And for the people."
"Shall not perish from this Earth."
"Thank you very much."
One of the boys led in bowing.
Everybody clapped.
Miss. Schlowski and me were onstage.
"Oh! I'd like to introduce you to our Kindergarten teacher. He came to us as a substitute teacher and he's proven to be a wonderful asset. Let's welcome him into our community and hope that he considers staying on a permanent basis. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. John Kimble."
Everybody was cheering and applauding for me.
All the kids hugged me.

I got out of my car.
"Nice town. Hmm."
I opened the passenger side door for Mom.
"Ahh. Smell that fresh air."
She stepped out of the car.
"We should think about buying something up here... Like some log cabin in the woods near a lake. Kids love that outdoor kind of stuff."
"I'll be in the pharmacy, Cullen. Try not to step in anything."
I saw a race car track in a display window.
I walked in the store.
"Yeah. I'd really like to help you. But we're pretty much out of the race cars, unless... Yeah. This is the last one. Um... It's still in great shape. If you don't mind waiting, I'll just wrap it up for ya. I'll knock ten percent off the price."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" I cut him off.
"Excuse me. Uh... This is your lucky day. I have a better idea. I'll pay you twice what he's charging. I- I- I promised my boy I'd get him one of these."
"Yeah. Well, I'd love to help you, but, uh... My kid's been bugging me for one of these ever since Christmas. I'm sorry."
"I'll pay you four times what it's worth. You can get your kid something even better."
Daryl put his hand up to me.
"Sorry." He apologized.
"Hey, listen- Can you gift wrap it? It's a Birthday present."
"Sure. Yeah."
"Hannah, could you wrap that, please?"
"I tried. No harm in trying."
I walked out of the store.
"Tourists."
Kimble
"Great, Dominic. You're doing well." I told Dominic when he was on a white pony.
"I'll wait right over here for you, okay?"
"Okay."
I spotted Phoebe.
She was pissed.
I headed over to Phoebe.
"Great day, huh?"
She held her hand up to me.
"We've run out of time. We've got to press Joyce and we've gotta press her now."
"What do you mean?"
"Cindy O'D'd last night."
I looked down.
"Yeah. They released Crisp this morning. He's probably on his way here now."
"No."
"And even better. Salazar told me I had to tell you this. If Joyce is Crisp's Wife, she's got to cooperate and tell us about the money or she gets no Police protection. Nice, huh?"
"Bastard. I cannot-"
Cullen
Daryl put the race car in his truck.
I approached him.
"Daryl, Daryl, I'm sorry. I wanted to give you a second chance."
"Two hundred cash." I said, holding it out to Daryl.
"What is wrong with you, mister?" He questioned, putting the two hundred dollar bills in my suit jacket.
"I'm still not getting through to you, am I, Daryl?"
I kneed him in the face.
I slammed Daryl's head into his truck door.
I took the race car.
I walked into the pharmacy.
Mom was checking out.
"Mother, got this great surprise for Junior."
"That'll be 57.90."
"Fifty seven ninety."
"Children's Aspirin... Children's Decongestant... Antihistamine. A thermometer?"
Mom applied perfume.
"There's a lot of flu going around this time of year, isn't that so?"
"It is the season."
"The boy's not sick."
"Doesn't hurt to take precautions."
"Mother, you are going to make him sick." I told her.
"You stuffed all this crap down my throat for years and there was nothing wrong with me." I pointed out.
"That's why there was nothing wrong with you."
I looked up at the cashier.
"Now, how can you argue with that?"
Kimble
I looked over at Rachel.
She was chatting with her boyfriend and second baby Daddy.

I had saw a flyer for the Astoria Elementary Fair.
I arrived at the Astoria Elementary Fair with Mother.
A guy was on one knee in front of a strawberry blonde.
"Joyce Palmieri..."
He opened a ring box.
"Will you marry me?"
"I cannot marry you."
"Why?"
"Because I'm legally married already."
Half of the Moms gasped.
"I couldn't marry you even if I wanted to."
"Even if you wanted to?"
"Yeah."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Do you even listen to me? Or have you just been with me to get laid?"
"You know I'm not with you to get laid."
"What's my first name?"
"Joyce."
"You don't pay attention when I'm talking."
"Rebecca."
"No!"
Kimble was amused.
"Do you look at me and think I'm Marriage material?"
"No, I don't. But I also know why you have commitment issues."
"Yeah. My husband is a real hoot."
The strawberry blonde walked away.
"Is your husband hot?"
"Maybe on the outside, not the inside. Ego maniac."
He snickered.
"You got serious commitment issues."
"Maybe I do. Maybe I don't. But I told you from the start. I wasn't gonna do anything serious. I can't do anything serious."
"Is that why we've been together for three years?"
"We're just hooking up."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"I bend over backwards for Dominic!"
"I didn't ask you to! Because he's not your son! He never will be!"
"Didn't mention she had an explosive rage too."
"She doesn't kill people in her fits of rage."
"Or is that why we're sharing two kids together?"
"Well... Aria and Scarlett certainly weren't planned. But yet again, neither was Dominic. They are the best part of me."
"Mm."
"I can't share them. They are my kids."
"Well, maybe if you did, your ex would finally sign the papers."
"I don't need a piece of paper to show that I don't love him. Or even care about him."
O'Hara laughed.
"I couldn't care less if my husband died tomorrow. The world would be a better palce without him in it."
Kimble snickered.
"Have you ever thought of just ending him yourself?"
"I've considered it a few times. But I realized he's not worth it."
"Mm."
"And let's admit it. Half of the time, the spouse did it."
He shook his head.
"Or a blood relative did it."
"Well, you don't have any blood relatives. Besides your kids."
"Yeah."
She snickered.
"What?"
"Nothing."
The strawberry blonde walked away.
Rachel has a twin brother.
Only family and close friends know about him.
Luke's birth was never legalized.
He was supposed to die in the womb.
But Rachel pulled Luke out with her.
"Sis!"
She looked over.
It was him.
Rachel grinned at Luke.
"Sis?"
"Yeah."
"Please tell me you are close friends."
"No."
"How did you miss this?"
"There is no documentation of his birth."
"You got a brother?" The guy questioned.
"This proves how much you listen to me."
They were running at each other.
They both groaned as they slammed into each other.
They crashed into the ground.
Both of them laughed.
They got up off the ground.
Luke stared at me.
The hatred was clear in his eyes.
"Mm?"
"Nothing, Sweetheart."
"Uh-huh."
They walked away together.
Luke and Rachel were chatting.
"So, she has a twin brother."
"Yeah."
"Twins have a special kind of bond."
"So, what? You think he's felt everything she has? All that pain and suffering?"
"Every twin bond is different."
Kimble walked away from O'Hara.
"Can I talk to you, Mr. Myatt?"
"No can do."
"Why not?"
"I signed an NDA. For my brother-in-law."
She sighed.
"I told you not to sign that."
"He's fucking crazy!"
"Can you watch your language?"
"Why?"
"Because a bunch of children are present."
"Mommy, look at me!" It was a blonde hair blue eyed little girl.
She was on a pony.
Another blonde hair blue eyed little girl was next to that one.
"So pretty, babies!"
Dominic grinned.
"Uncle Luke!"
Luke picked him up.
"Hello, my handsome nephew."
She shook her head.
"You look more like your father every time I see you."
Rachel rolled her eyes.
"Something I hope you grow out of."
They locked eyes.
She shook her head at him.
"I've got nothing more to say to you, Detective."
"You know?"
"Of course I knew."
"Then you know he's guilty."
"Guilty of what?"
"Killing people."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"He has everybody in his inner circle sign NDAs. I guess that included his Wife too."
"Smart man."
"We can shatter both of those NDAs."
"As I said, I've got nothing to say to you. You can talk to the Lawyer."
"Rachel Crisp, you are under arrest for accessory to multiple murders."
"Good luck proving that."
"You think Crisp won't throw you under the bus?"
"I have nothing else to say."
"You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right anything you say can and will be held against you in a Court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?"
She didn't answer.
"Taken that as a "Yes."
He slapped the cuffs on her wrists.
"Let's go."
Kimble pulled Rachel with him.
I pulled my phone out.
I was calling the Lawyer, Jonathan.
"Mr. Crisp."
"Jonathan."
"Are you in Jail again?"
"Uh... No. But that same Detective that keeps harassing my mother and me, he just..."
"What?"
"He just arrested my Wife. In front of our son."
"What is the charge?"
"Accessory to murder."
"He's bringing her back to California?"
"Most likely."
"I will represent her too."
"Alright. Thank you."
I hung up.
Luke was holding Dominic in his arms.
He was squirming all around.
"I know. Mommy is, um... She's in trouble, buddy. But Daddy and me are gonna work very hard to get her out of trouble."
I took Dominic from him.
"We will. I promise."
"I will break that NDA if it means she doesn't go to Jail. I'm telling you right now. I will throw you under the bus."
"I know."
I sighed.
"They want me, not her."
"Yeah."
I shook my head.
"Kimble is never going to stop coming after this family, Luke. He's not gonna stop. Unless we make him stop."
"We can't kill him."
"I know that."
Mother and me looked at each other.
"Let's head back to California. And we'll take it from there."
"I'm scared that she's gonna get hurt. She's not you, Cullen. She doesn't fight back."
"I'm scared for her too."
"You don't care about Rachel."
"If I didn't care about Rachel, why the fuck would I be throwing millions of dollars at a Lawyer?"
Luke shut up.
"I didn't think Kimble was actually gonna arrest Rachel."
"He's not gonna stop."
"I know."
